So I was reading your new bingo instalment, and I must say perfect as always! But it sparked some questions for me about kissing, and how you described that.

I’ve seen it described so many times in fics in similar ways and situations but how would that be put in practice. How on earth do you even kiss someone beyond the peck on the cheeks you can give. How does it work in order to “taste” your partner? The only experience I have in this subject is someone attempting kiss me like that and me being extremely unwilling which meant my whole lower face was just wet? Well first off, there are many different kinds of kisses. I believe you’re mainly talking about French kissing, as that is what’s often described in fics, but it’s important to note that French kissing isn’t the only kissing style. By back to French kissing. French kissing is also referred to as tongue kissing, deep kissing, and sometimes making out. I want to make a note here that it’s okay if you’re not into French kissing. It’s not for everybody. Just because it’s written about a good amount, does not mean it’s for you. And that’s okay ♥️

French kissing involves tongue-to-tongue contact. It can include pecking, nipping, biting, and more, but the main part and crux of French kissing is the tongue-on-tongue contact. This type of kissing is often the most common when written and showed on entertainment for romantic partners.

In my personal opinion, a not so good kisser will just shove their tongue in your mouth (if it’s sounds gross, good because it is). A better kisser will ask for permission before by either using words or nipping/licking your bottom lip. A good French kiss is a give and take, with usually one person leading. They moved their tongue around and along your lips, as well as inside your mouth and around your tongue.

A bad kisser (especially French) can be horrendous. It sounds like you experienced something like that. I’m sorry ♥️♥️ I have as well. But the good news is, you yourself can become a better kisser so that hopefully you are never that bad kisser.

Next, what is “tasting” your partner?

“Tasting” your partner is when your partner has something or the flavor of something already in their mouth. This can happen if they just did oral on you, and you taste yourself, or if they drank alcohol, and you can then sometimes taste the alcohol on their tongue. Things like that.

I used to be such an avid reader as a kid, but I find it so hard as an adult to find books that really hook me. It's like I need something more enjoyable than Faulkner but not anywhere near as formulaic as Nicholas Sparks, but those are the type of books that fill up many recommendation lists!

I love a nice, long novel that follows a character and their development over timen (can you tell why I like your work?). Some of my favorites are East of Eden, Vanity Fair, and I Know This Much Is True.

I will admit to being a huge fan of young adult lit, despite being 33. A group of my friends and I go to YALLFest every fall to shout at our favorite authors. Some of my favorites from this category are Taherah Mafi (specifically her stand-alones "An Emotion of Great Delight" and "A Very Large Expanse of Sea"), Libba Bray (The Diviner's Series!!!! The Gemma Doyle Trilogy!!!!), Leigh Bardugo (specifically the Six of Crows duology and the Ninth House series), Sarah Dessen (though I'll admit this is mostly out of loyalty and nostalgia at this point and I think if I read her books fresh as an adult i would not love them like i did growing up), Marissa Meyer (The Lunar Chronicles!!!!!!!!!! but another that idk if i would love if i read them NOW instead of at 20), and E. Lockheart (WE WERE LIARS!!!!!).

As far as fiction meant for real adults lol I haven't been a fan of any of her books since the early 2010s but Jodi Picoult was really formative when I was a teenager and is honestly the reason I went for a writing degree. I thought I'd be her when I grew up (haaaa). I really liked Sara Gruen (EXCEPT for the one about monkeys WHO LET HER WRITE THAT), Tara Conklin, Kevin Brockmeier, Margaret Atwood (i once tripled the page assignment for a paper on Handmaid's Tale about a decade before it was a show and got a B for going over the page limit >:( true story). I am a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of Brunonia Barry - can't recommend The Lace Reader or The Map of True Places enough!

Ok, for my ults - in the YA category it's Maggie Stiefvater (Raven King series, again - not sure how this will read as an adult person but I read them first in my early 20s and I was DEEPLY attached and she's one of the smartest, most wonderful people and I've met her several times and gone to her writing seminars and she's just..... a god tier human and great writer).

For adult fiction ult... N.K. Jemisen. I named the Professor in MFFMHH after her!!!! Nora is like........ literally a genius in our generation. Her trilogy The Broken Earth Trilogy fucked up my brain so bad I'll never recover (and it's also the key inspo for This is a Love Song, my WIP! It's technically a crossover of parts of the world from this series, plus bangtan lmao). It's a GUTTING analogy of colonization, racism, slavery, oppression... hidden behind an almost sci-fi/apocalyptic backdrop. It is SERIOUSLY so so so so so so so good but it will break your brain and fuck you up.

Los Feliz anon 🌴 here! I just wanted to stop by and say hi and tell you that I saw DWD with some friends that work in the entertainment industry and yikes 😬 not a single one of them were impressed! My PA friend that works at James Corden said they all gathered around one morning to watch Olivia’s interview with Colbert and they were just laughing the whole time and said that it was the best media trained interview they’ve ever seen, which is saying a lot. She said don’t believe a word that comes out of that woman’s mouth, she could be a politician with the lies she told. I also asked if any of them would consider working with Olivia in the future and they all said NOT A CHANCE! So yeah all in all DWD & Olivia are a major flop and don’t expect anything from Olivia anytime soon because I don’t think studios are wanting to work with her.
