Robot characters who are given names like SL-308-62 but instead of their human friend going Well let's call you Sally for short, they instead ask the other if they Like their current name.
"Do you like your serial number?" they ask. "Yes, quite. It reminds me of who I am" the robot replies. "I have heard others like me go by different names after some time, and maybe one day I'll choose one for myself, too. But right now that is my full name, yes" they continue.
Because it's not your decision to make whether or not the robot will receive a new name. It should be theirs only. What's the difference? One is more complex and the other is simplified. They were both given by strangers instead of themselves.
"62 will do," they conclude. "It's my model number - there will be no other 62 after me."
ok so my personal thought is that ghost and soap don't get married til their like mid fifties after they retire and even then it's just legal documents they don't have a wedding. and they don't really tell anyone because it doesn't really change much. and then one day 141 meet up for drinks or smth and someone else recognizes soap and goes 'oh hey mr mactavish' and he goes 'hey! n it's mactavish-riley now actually' and holds a whole long bench conversation while everyone else is fucking flabbergasted. and when he finally turns back around theyre like 'repeat that pls' and soaps smug ass is sat there grinning n he goes 'i say again. 's mactavish-riley now'. and everyone loses their mind
I love how Falin and Marcille have the gay ass bath scene that we can all agree is Very Yuri but Laios on the other hand is on some other type of gay shit with a guy who wants him dead but also as a friend (homosexual) but also yeah definitely dead.
The Touden siblings and the ppl that are murder crazy in love(?) with them to some extent.
Laios x kabru this mithrun x kabru that. I on the other hand had laios x mithrun bestowed upon me in an act of divine revelation (dream) which, while it makes no sense isolated, is they key to solve this debate once and for all.
They must not be separated. One in the same. Kabru gets 2 guys. And that's final.
Real big fan of robots and monsters and aliens btw in case u couldn't tell.
And a trope I Hate is forced humanization, in general. If a non human character is supposed to become connected to humankind, then fine. It's not atrocious on it's own. I don't care.
What I do care about is when they're belittled for not being "human enough" in a "weird way". Like, yeah, maybe the alien that doesn't celebrate birthdays is strange to the protagonist. They don't have to call them out on it. The alien doesn't have to be seen at the end celebrating their birthday to solidify how human they've become.
If you want it to happen have it happen gradually. Have them become curious about it, and find out they actually like the customs they're not used to yet. Aliens finding pleasure in a playground, monsters enjoying food they'd never gotten to taste before, and robots discovering they genuinely like watching TV. Whatever!
Just work around their differences, make it be gradual, and not born from the main, human cast making fun of them or pointing out how weird they are for not liking X thing. And for the love of god, don't make "Becoming Human uwu" the center of their story. It's so... Heartbreaking. Bleak, even.
You're arguing abt whether or not he's a redeemable character while I'm cutting apple slices and making pbjs for his lunch (with a handwritten note abt how much i love him). We are not the same
"i could fix them" for child f/os is so easy. I could have given him a loving home where he would be raised with love and patience. I would have shown her the kindness and beauty this world has to offer if you pay attention to it. I could have taught them how to cook our favorite pancakes, never raising my voice or being upset at them when they made a mess trying to make them afterwards.
And I would do so over and over again, at every chance I'd get to meet them. Life may be hard, but loving my evil children is easy 馃挄
Fellow selfshippers I know the thought of doing everyday mundane things with your f/o Especially a task/activity ur currently doing sounds cute but beware this siren call.
If you start thinking like this its far too late and they have consumed your heart entirely! Watch out! Your heart is theirs and so is their heart yours!
Ok real talk it's so cute that Grumpy Babies is a clear reference to Beanie Babies down to Cromdo's description mentioning how stupid he thinks collectors are.
But like. Filbo isn't the kind of person that keeps them in mint condition to be sold, clearly. He brought them to a desert island, and one of them is (sadly) on the floor of his hut.
The guy just loves his stuffed animals and collects them bc he Likes them, at least to me. And god that means the world to me.
