fuuuuuckkk I got another drabble idea and this one is for Alhaitham.....

okokok hear me out. you've known each other for years and we're once really close, so you knew all of the places he would go to hide from other people, especially while he felt overwhelmed.

after you moved away with your family, you didn't see each other for years. you finally come back after growing up, and just as you're excited to see him again, you find he doesn't recognize you (you've grown a lot since then) and you run into him at a bad time.

he hurries away after dismissing you but you know exactly where he's going. you're able to find him, and just as you walk over, he hears you and looks up.

and then he recognizes you.

guys I had an idea for a new chess piece (well technically it was my boyfriend's fault and they started the idea) but basically I have a broken chess set (like two pieces) and one of them is the knight where basically it looks like its head was chopped off

but basically it's based off of the headless horseman story. The head moves like a bishop with less range (once in each diagonal, like a knight with its range reduced) while the body can't be too far away from the head. If the head moves far enough, your next move is required to be moving the body closer to the head (unless you're in check, then the rule doesn't apply)

that sounds a lot like a big downside, right? but hang on. Besides just being fun, there's one more rule about the headless horseman. If the head is taken out, the body immediately exacts revenge upon the piece that killed it, regardless of which piece it is or where the body was, and then takes the place of that piece. Then it continues play like a normal knight.

yeah yeah I know it's not exactly something that will professionally be put into chess ever, but if you want to have some more fun and spice up a game of chess, or maybe play Halloween themed chess or something, it's an idea!!

ngl I was disappointed we didn't see more character to Nikolai after Fyodor's death (specifically tears. I'm a sucker for characters who cry emotional tears on screen). I know I know I know I know, but listen. He admitted it himself, Fyodor was his only friend. He was excited that Fyodor won, and concerned for him. There was genuine worry and fear in his eyes when Fyodor got hurt in the helicopter. I struggle to believe his only reaction was bittersweet disappointment. Nikolai is expressive, and it's interesting to see him so quiet, but listen one more time.

Do you know how good it would feel to watch a couple tears escape? Nikolai wouldn't get it. It would be so tasteful, so flavorful, so perfect in comparison to his motive of freeing himself from his own emotions. The trappings of his own sorrow after losing his only friend. We were almost there, and I could feel the hurt, but come on. A few tears would have been the perfect angsty ending to hurt us more. Nikolai couldn't accomplish his goal, he is still caged, he isn't free, and he is sad.

all things said and done, the episode was amazing. I didn't trust bones to do it, but they did. Fyolai angst ending hurt so good, my husband being hot with his also hot boyfriend defeating the demon, sskk bond at the end, old man angst, it was all so gut wrenching. I'm just upset over such a missed opportunity

hey! this is chance & here’s this week’s prompt. what websites or resources do you use while you write or develop a character/story? what do you think of them and would you recommend them?

I use a lot of geography/cultural references on my own original stuff, but I can't say I have a favorite website. the one I've been working on for a few years is based off of France, so I'd say I use a name generator a lot so I can get some background character names that fit the setting. It works well enough, so that's probably my best answer!

this is the one I use. It's got a ton of options that can help. But other than that, I can't say I've got any in particular I find myself using often.
