You know what though, now that I think about it.

Jay probably just assumed his relation to an elemental master was like Zane's. Aka instead of being directly related, he was gifted his powers at a young age by someone he just doesn't remember. Cuz he doesn't have much reason to immediately jump to "oh I must be adopted", and I really can't think of anyone one in his life who knew his bio mom who would correct him on his assumption without a good reason (so basically Wu and maybe Ed and Edna).

do yall remember that big fanfic trend a while ago that was like. peak domestic fluff. it would be like all the avengers or whatever just sitting around in a house hanging out. and everyone went crazy. that's what ghosts is. it's weird little guys hanging out in a house. for 5 seasons. and it rips. ghosts is like if you made a bottle episode a whole show. there really isnt a plot. it's genuinely just a dozen people hanging out and doing weird shit and being a family together. and it's the perfect show.
