News about the Europa Ice War, from the guy who started it

For context in case someone missed it: this past week has had an explosion of fiction and art being posted to Twitter and to a lesser extent a few other social media sites, accounts and memoirs of a brutal eternal conflict on Jupiter's icy moon Europa.

At first people thought this was a spontaneous fic situation like Goncharov, but it turns out to have been viral marketing for an (upcoming?) tabletop roleplaying game zine that got wildly out of hand (up to and including some indirect acknowledgment from a NASA social media account).

So it's less unreality and more, fanfic I guess.

...And now I really badly want to get my hands on that zine, I was already starting to brainstorm how to translate the thing into an RPG and turns out I won't even have to lmao.

that's not even who he is as a player and he has put distance from that role people were pushing on him early on because there's a lot more he can do as a player and it's not worth it. hopefully his game speaks for itself and general perception will catch up sooner than later so everyone will move on, but that's a tall ask as this kind of thing tends to stick even when no longer relevant.

thanks for pointing it out, went to see what was happening in the tag and realized it was under a post i carelessly rb'ed from the foryou tab with the news of the fine without taking in the caption 🤦🏻‍♀️ the screenshot sidetracked me and it didnt register as part of the post. got rid of it.

meanwhile with every game, players, coaching staff, commentators, reporters, and us watching are all in awe and still can't wrap our heads around what he's been doing all season long because it's that incredible to witness and there's no getting used to it.

on a logical level, i understand that the ppl who leave "how many secondary assists" comments under every nhl/tsn/sportsnet/what-have-you post reporting that lane hutson has YET AGAIN broken a historic rookie points/assist record... they do not watch lane hutson play. and they do not intend to. so there's no point in getting upset and i should just let it go

and yet every time i see them out in the world every part of me is itching to yell JUST WATCH HIM PLAY. this is not an oopsie-i-shot-it-in-the-corner-and-a-magic-play-happened. he is driving those plays!!!! he is making them happen!!!! he is making reads and decisions and he's protecting the puck and maintaining possession while he's doing it!!!! stfu!!!! but wtv! I should just let it go!!!
