Hmmm this is hard because I want to tell you about one you don't know about... I recently outlined my fic for the @thebrownstone fic event, which is a porn star x filmmaker au, where Henry is the talent and alex is behind the camera—and has his bisexual awakening on set. It's inspired by an incomplete Twilight Jasper/Edward AU because yes, I used to lurk there.

A few fun details:

Pez was a classmate of Alex's in film school, now turned talent scout for the studio, so they are the one that connects Alex

The sex in the inital shot is also inspired by a vivid memory of a different porn star Twilight fic that I CANNOT FIND ANYWHERE seriously, I spent three hours scouring ff.net. Let's just say: there's wax involved.

The actual progression of their relationship is still TBD—but this isn't coming out until March, so the ideas are percolating.

One that is shared by a lot of people: Pez as nonbinary.

One that's more specifically mine: that Nora pegged Alex. My reasoning is the following:

Nora is a bi woman who I see being interested in topping

Alex found Nora's strap-on and is curious/fascinated

He passes it off as interest in ass play/he's heard about the prostate, he also knows that pleasure from this doesn't make a person queer, so it doesn't cause any lightbulbs to go off.

So if I did make a character for Edward... It would be related to his past as a killer.

Someone who was in love with him back when he was Charles Dexter. Someone who stood by his side despite his crimes. Maybe the women he murdered all had something in common after all... They had stood in his lover's way in some form. What if the black rose that he left with his victims wasn't a calling card per se, but more of a symbol of his devotion to them, his devoted lover?

Once he's caught and tried, and sent to the mind wipe - Maybe they both are? Sentenced to "die" together, stripped of their memories and identities. When the fire breaks out, Edward and his counterpart are separated.

Until years later, when Edward is on a mission with Brother Theo to spread the word on Christianity... They run into someone who seems awfully familiar to Edward, though he can't quite put his finger on it. The two are instantly drawn to each other... It turns out to be me, an artist who had lost all touch with their memories and prior life! They had one secret niche; Painting black roses.

When Edward starts getting horrific visions of his unremembered past crimes due to the victim's families, I'm the first one he comes to. We work together to figure out what the visions mean, and what exactly is happening. By the end, we learn the truth; That he and I were a murderous duo before the mind wipe, and we had to face our past crimes with our new outlooks on life. We had to take what was coming to us and face it to be forgiven.

 “did you need an escape, too?” the president of the united states asked, without pivoting to face the prince of wales. it had never taken leontine morgan very long to associate footfall patterns with people. the secret service were fending off eager press, and she was exhaling into the clear paris night outside the louvre. “it gets stifling in there, doesn’t it?”

it began with family — knowing who was coming up and down the stairs, so she’d have the time to lock her bedroom door prior to their arrival if she didn’t want to see them; the practice of shutting people out — whether it was the gentler steps of candace’s radiator-warmed slippers, the excited scampers of the twins ( they were often together, when they were younger, so you could tell them by the sound of four feet instead of two ) or kenneth morgan’s polished shoes.

HEADCANON FOR SYBBIE: Sybbie has always struggled with finding a loving and supportive relationship. She quickly learned that there are still people who think very little of her parents because of her father’s background and because her mother gave up her life to be with her father. Because of their prejudice towards her parents, some people often think poorly of Sybbie for being the offspring of an Irishman and of a woman who gave up the perfect life. The two people who still treat her family poorly would be Larry and Amelia Grey. She knew of their past with her family and how her mother and Larry were friends, that Larry was sweet on her mother long before Tom came into the picture. She knew of Larry’s disrespectful remarks at Downton, how he drugged her father, how Larry and Amelia lied to Richard about his health and kept him from Isobel... She knew even more from her conversations with Mary and Edith. She knew how horrible Larry, Amelia, and even Timothy were to her whole family. It was because of that she never considered falling in love with Larry’s son. She never wanted anything to do with him, but God had other ideas for her which she often questioned in her prayers. She soon learns that their son is not at all like Larry and Amelia. He is kind, respectful, well-liked by almost everyone in the village, funny... She is afraid to fall for him and when feelings are reciprocated, she is afraid to inform her family of the courtship in fear that they won’t understand or approve.

         She sat on the sand, as she pulled off the top part of her armor, wincing as it rubbed against the wound on her arm.  The artifact was such a weird thing, she had only gotten close to it, and her great grandfather’s spear began to glow.  Before she knew it she was landing rather harshly on some rocks on a beach.  Lys had just ripped a piece of fabric off of her under garment, when someone came and blocked the sunlight.  Immediately she stopped what she was doing, reaching behind her for the broken spear that was at her back.  “I was dropped on these rocks.”  She moved back slightly away from the man, her defensiveness kicking in.  “Wh-- where is this place?”

             It wasn’t uncommon for him to show up, bandaged and broken from head to toe. He’d walked into the house as if in a daze, looking around as if the surroundings were unfamiliar. As soon as she’d gotten the call that he’d been hurt and was in the hospital, she came running like she’d always done. This was the worst she’d ever seen him. The life he lived was dangerous, she knew, but each time she saw him it seemed that he got closer and closer to knocking on death’s door. The fear she’d had since they burned down their house bloomed in her chest as she stepped towards him, need to see how damaged he really was. Automail she could put back together with her eyes closed, but the rest of him… Winry had done it one too many times in her lifetime.

             “Mustang— He, uh, called me. Ed, what happened?”

             She’d watched his eyes dart around her, searching her skin for something he didn’t see. The fear ( and something else she couldn’t name ) in his eyes made her look at her own skin, appraising it for any injuries that she’d sustain in her rush to his side. Small white scars from working on automail littered her skin forearms, but they were almost faded from age. Nothing about her appearance explained the reaction he had to her. She was completely fine, not even a sniffle or sneeze in sight.

             “You saw? Did you have a nightmare again, Ed?” They were so common that she could recall different memories of her waking in the middle of the night to him screaming or jolting awake by his side while he laid in a hospital bed. Nightmares weren’t new or strange, if anything they were a part of their life. His actions were slow and hesitant, but not from the injuries that he had sustained. “I’m here, Ed. You’re safe. I’ll have you fixed in no time.” She’d practically say anything to calm him, grounding him in reality. “You’re. Safe.” She wanted to take him far away from this place, somewhere safe and where he didn’t have to fight anymore. Where Al was human again and he was whole.

             For years, she’d been in close proximity to him working on automail. Feeling the other’s breath was normal and comforting even. This time, he pulled her into his proximity. It was different. It wasn’t just him comforting her or her fixing him, it was protective. As if there was something behind her worth fearing, but there was nothing behind her. Nothing but a shadow.

             “Hey… Hey, look at me.” Her hand raised up and gently laid on his cheek, “You need to rest. Let me help you.” Shifting herself to act as a crutch, she helped him back to bed and sat him down. Sighing she shook her head, “Oh Ed, what am I going to do with you…”
