Nnoitra is standing in the doorway Taylor: calls Nel and says its an emergency Nelliel quickly appears Nel: Nnoitra I saw you die how are you alive. Nnoitra: And how are you in your original form! Nel: If you wanna fight so be it. But don't expect me to kill you. Nnoitra: Hey if dying told me one thing its to not give a shit that women are stronger, so to answer your question I do not want a fight to the death the only way I'm fighting you is a spar where we are fighting like we did years ago. Ichigo: Taylor please tell me you didn't bring Nnoitra back from the dead. Taylor: Nope this time I have to admit I didn't, I simply found the horn that Captain Zaraki had sliced off and kept it for study, I never once put it into the resurrection chamber. Ichigo: Its pronounced Resurrección. Taylor: Yeah I wasn't talking about that kind of Resurrection, I was talking about the bringing someone back from the dead Resurrection not the Arrancar's release Resurrección. Ichigo: Oh... shuts up because he was just called out for being an idiot Grimmjow (to Ichigo): There is no reason to shut up just because you said something stupid, honey. Ichigo: But Grimm he basically just called out for being an idiot. Taylor: Let me point out I didn't call you out for being an idiot I was simply clarifying what Resurrection I meant, so no I wasn't calling you out for being an idiot because if I were I'd have said and I quote "YOU ARE AN IDIOT, ICHIGO" Ichigo: Oh... feels stupid for doing that Grimmjow: gives Ichigo a big hug and big kiss Nel: If you want to spar then lets take this outside. Orihime: Not sure, actually since I never actually tried. Ichigo and Grimmjow continue making out Orihime: Alright, now I know Ichigo is gay. He never really made out with me that long before. His kisses were quick, as if he were trying to get it over with as soon as possible. Isshin and Ryūken start making out and so does the pairings of Chad and Noba, Karin and Nozomi, Rukia and Renji and Uryū and Brandan Orihime: Now I feel left out... Yuzu, Koga, Ulquiorra, Riruka, Ririn, Kurōdo and Kon: So do we! Taylor: My fiancé isn't here because he is busy back at home. Orihime, Yuzu, Koga, Ulquiorra, Riruka, Ririn, Kurōdo and Kon (shocked): Wait, you're engaged Taylor? Taylor: Yeah and his name is Anthony. Nnoitra (embarrassed): releases Nelliel's hand out of embarrassment Its not what it looks like! Taylor: There is no need to be embarrassed after all there is nothing wrong with expressing your love for someone as long as they feel the same way, because if they don't than you are gonna embarrass yourself. Nel: See Nnoi, he supports us as a couple. Nnoitra (throwing caution to the wind): I LOVE NELLIEL TU ODELSCHWANCK! Nel: AND I LOVE NNOITRA GILGA! starts making out with Nnoitra Ichigo and Grimmjow take a break from making out Ichigo: I LOVE GRIMMJOW JAEGERJAQUEZ! Grimmjow: AND I LOVE ICHIGO KUROSAKI! Orihime and Riruka start making out Koga: I doubt any guy here wants to make out with me... Ulquiorra: Try me! Ulquiorra puts his lips on Koga and starts making out with him Kon: You do realize I lied to myself for years saying I was straight when in reality I am actually gay, I just decided to well come to terms with it finally and I wasn't trying to punish Ichigo and Grimmjow with the glue prank I was trying to make them even closer even if it meant them being glued together forever. Kurōdo: starts making out with Kon Yuzu and Ririn: Where does that leave us since we are interested in the opposite sex only. Taylor while still making out with Anthony does something and 2 handsome men show up Yuzu and Ririn: Who are you, Hunks! The Hunks: say they have no names Yuzu (addressing the Auburn Hunk): Well I will call you Atsuo, unless you don't like that name that is. Atsuo: I love it! I could kiss you, I mean may I, may we? Yuzu: kisses Atsuo We may! starts making out with Atsuo Ririn (addressing the Green Hunk): You are now Kenta! Kenta: As you wish my lady! Ririn: Now come and make out with your queen! Kenta: Gladly my lady! goes over to Ririn and starts making out with her Meanwhile in the Soul Society At the Kuchiki Manor Byakuya (looking at the picture of Hisana): I wish you were still here my love... Just then something unexpected happens and a letter flies into Byakuya's lap Byakuya (reading the letter): Dear Captain B Kuchiki, Do you recall me asking to see some of Lady Hisana's belongings a few months back? If so I recommend you look behind you but if not still look behind you. Sincerely, the 13 Court Guard Member who lives in Canada, Taylor. Byakuya (turning around): is brought to tears on who he sees Hisana: I am so sorry Byakuya for having failed to repay the love you gave me all those years ago. I just hope I can do so now. Byakuya: runs over to Hisana gives her a big hug and gives her a big kiss before pulling back Hisana: What's wrong Byakuya why'd you pull back? Byakuya: Because I wanna start a family with you since we couldn't before since you were looking for Rukia. leads Hisana to the bed chambers Meanwhile in the World of the Living Everyone is continuing to make out Someone asks to come in To Be Continued Just to clarify yes this has more pairings but the main pairing is GrimmIchi and yes I am bringing dead characters back but so what its a story which still isn’t finished and I haven’t determined how long I am gonna make it so until you see a story end with “The End” then its gonna continue even if there are haters.

A/N: A few months ago I wrote a post-tybw-karakura-gang-finishes-high-school kinda thing called ‘decisions, decisions’ ft career choice discussions and orihime thinking of leaving town for uni. I wanted to write some more of that stuff and more ichihime pining obvs, so here it is. also i hate myself for not being able to participate in ichihimeweek2020, i suck, but anyway, ‘nuff with the nonsense, here’s the fic:

It’s five minutes to two, and Ichigo fought to stifle a yawn. The menacing five hundred pages of English grammar exercises in front of him wasn’t helping.

“... Unbelievable,” he curses, slamming the book shut, much to the annoyance of his bespectacled classmate sitting across him. “Why the hell can’t they just teach us proper English in school?! I’m absolutely fucking positive that Honda-sensei didn’t mention more than three tenses in her class. And what kind of English lesson takes place in Japanese anyway?!”

“... Quit your whining, Kurosaki. Some of us are trying to study here.”

Ichigo fumed. By ‘some of us,’ Ishida was pointedly referring to just himself and the long-haired beauty sitting right opposite him, who, judging by her giggling at his outburst, welcomed his distraction. The same giggling that was contributing to the problem, contributing to Ichigo’s immense distraction since after dinner.

“You’re not even human, Ishida,” he says dismissively. “Keigo’s literally made his bed on my dad’s couch, you can hear his goddamn snores, and Mizuiro left to ‘watch the stars’ with some new girl thirty minutes ago.”

“You’re the one who invited us over to your place for an all-nighter group study session and you’re calling it quits before the sun is up? As expected, you’re weak.”

He was right, this had been Ichigo’s idea, Yuzu had offered to make them dinner and his dad had plans tonight, so they were guaranteed some peace and quiet. Despite the noise and the chaos of their group, he missed hanging out with his friends. Ever since the school had given them voluntary study holidays for the upcoming University Entrance Exams, he didn’t get to see much of everyone, as they were either studying or training for competitions. Even today, Tatsuki and Chad left after dinner because they had to get up early for practice and they had decided they wouldn’t be giving the exams anyway.

Ignoring Ishida’s pointed attempts to rile him up, he turns his attention to Orihime, who despite enjoying their banter, was more focused on the cram book in front of her.

“Inoue, how are you still so motivated and so… awake?,” he asks, exasperated. “It’s almost 2 am! And you’ve been scribbling away furiously for the last thirty minutes. What are you even studying?”

“Mouuu, you’re right. I’m not able to solve this proof anyway. Maybe I should call it a night?”

“Electromagnetism?” Ishida asks, skimming the title of the chapter, “Oh, I’ve done this one, I can explain this to you if you want.”

He doesn’t know what irritates him more, Ishida’s nerdiness, or the soft look in his eyes as he unfailingly offers to help Orihime out, as he’d been doing a lot more of late, ever since they had started studying for the entrance exams together. In fact, it’d been this way this entire evening, starting from when he took a seat right next to her at the table as if he fucking belonged there, leaning over into her notebook, whenever she needed help, his arm casually brushing against her long, silken locks, her answering smile bright and incredibly close to him, and - Ichigo forces that thought to a halt because it has him gritting his teeth. “... For God’s sake, give her a break,” -

“... Shut up, Kurosaki, not everyone is applying to study *English* in University”-

“And what exactly do you mean by that, asshole?” Ichigo snarls, with more venom than needed, because despite having had enough with Ishida’s condescending attitude towards his study choices, his recent behaviour had Ichigo prickling under his skin.

“... Err, Kurosaki-kun…” Orihime starts, because she’s used to Ichigo and Ishida arguing (they’re just being affectionate, she always insists), there’s a glint in Ichigo’s eyes that’s different.

“... Exactly what I said, some of us don’t have the luxury of skipping the math and science exams,” -

“Ah, Kurosaki-kun is right! I think my brain really can’t function anymore tonight,” Orihime declares loudly, inserting herself in between them. “Kurosaki-kun, I think I will leave now. Thank you so much for hosting us today.” She bows, her formality annoying him even more, but still throwing him off guard.

As always, Orihime’s pleasant demeanour diffused the rising tempers… somewhat. With one last glare, Ishida grudgingly agreed, “Then I guess I will take my leave as well.”

Ichigo wants to be polite and say something like, “we should do this more often,” but he’s pissed off, and couldn’t wait to be rid of Ishida’s arrogant mug, so instead he offers, “Inoue, can I walk you home?”

He doesn’t notice the faint red on her cheeks or the hesitation on her face, when she mumbles, “If it doesn’t inconvenience you.” And he’s torn again - tearing his eyes away from the pretty blush dusting her cheeks unable to stop himself from wondering bitterly if she’d let Ishida walk her home without much protest.

“Ishida lives in the other direction and it would be out of his way, so I don’t mind.”

“Well then,” Ishida says, looking at her with more fondness than Ichigo would have liked, “Your eyes are all red and puffy. Sleep well. Don’t strain yourself, okay?”

“Yes sir,” she gives him the salute, “... good night!”

“... And text me that you got home safe. This idiot can’t be trusted with anything,”-

“... for fuck’s sake, just go home already!”

“Kurosaki-kun,” she whispers, amused, as she watches Ishida walk away with a cheeky grin on his face, “you’ll wake the neighbours with your angry yelling.”

“Ah, you’re right,” he mumbles, rubbing his neck sheepishly, as their footsteps fall into place beside each other, “I’m sorry for all the swearing, I don’t know why I let Ishida under my skin so much.”

“Hmmm,” she says, “It’s kind of cute, your bickering. If this were a yaoi novel, I’d totally ship it!”

“... what the hell?!” His face is red, not just because the thought of him… and Ishida… Ew. But also because this is coming from Orihime, the last person he’d ever expect to engage in fantasies of this sort.

Giggling, she quickly switches to a more somber note. “You seemed... on edge today. Did something happen between the two of you?”

He doesn’t know how to answer that question. Truth be told, he’s barely able to understand it himself. Sure, there was the usual trading of insults that took place between the two of them, but it was different this time. His whole demeanour just pissed him off. The way he always seemed to know what Orihime was asking, the way he was always able to help her, the familiar way he spoke to her… and the revelation that they’d been studying together for weeks now!

“I don’t know,” he sighs, because he can’t even explain what he is feeling, let alone the reason behind it, “... I guess it’s just the stress of the exam.”

“Ugh, tell me about it,” she whines, “I’m so thankful Ishida-kun is giving the same exams as me, and we can share practice questions and tips. I really wouldn’t be able to do this alone.”

He ignores her mention of him and the tick in his jaw in reaction. “But I don’t get it. You’re giving almost all the exams. Why?!? There’s surely no need.”

She blushes, ashamed, “I know it sounds stupid, but I really haven’t decided what I want to study in University. I figured if I just gave all of the exams, I would have more options to choose from.”

“... Come on,” -

“... And I will also prefer to go wherever I get a scholarship.”

His fist clenches, “... So you’re definitely applying outside of Karakura?”

“Yeah, although I’m not sure if there’s any point. It’s so difficult to aim for the National Universities, I’ll never get through. But the counselor says it’s worth a shot for the scholarship.”

“... I thought your aunt was helping you with tuition?”

“... Only till high school. And I cannot burden her anymore. I’ve received so much from her already.”

Ichigo doesn’t miss the way her voice wavers at the end, the guilt evident in her words. And he can’t stand it. “... Cheer up,” he says softly, playfully elbowing her. “You’re one of the smartest kids in school. Rank #2 after all the shit we went through last year! If anyone can do it you can.”

“... You think so?” she mumbles, looking up at him, her insecurities heartbreaking in the grey of her eyes.

Everything about her is so honest, it hurts him a little bit because his first thought is to say no, to talk her out of it, because the revelation is too sudden, too jarring - he can’t bear the thought of this town without her. But he nods, smiles encouragingly, because that’s just way too selfish.

Shaking his head out of these thoughts, he asks, “... what was the counselor’s recommendation, again? As a career path?”

“Ah, Hirata-san said maybe I should just follow my love for baking,” she says, smiling.

“... and? Why don’t you consider that? You wouldn’t have to give these blasted exams then.”

He liked the idea of this, now more than before, momentarily regretting his role in convincing her to apply to university. Orihime working in the local bakery, coming around his house everyday to share the leftovers, staying back for dinner maybe…

“... but Kurosaki-kun was the one who said I wouldn’t be very good at it!” She pouts, “You said I’d make too many things in weird flavours and nobody would want to buy them.”

Crap. He truly felt like waltzing back in time and whacking the past version of him for saying something like that. Because if it were anyone else shitting all over Orihime’s dream, he’d have sent the punk flying. Where were all these feelings coming from anyway?!

“... Shit, I didn’t mean,” -

“... it’s okay, you’re right. And besides I can work there part-time through University. I was thinking…” She took a deep breath. “Well, actually, it was Ishida-kun’s idea. Maybe I could study to become a doctor? My strength is in healing people anyway…”

Ichigo rolled his eyes. "Well of course, he'd say that. He's going to study medicine too." And of course he would try to talk Orihime into it. The bastard had taken every opportunity to slither by her side -

She laughs, a pretty sound, interrupting the profanity in his mind. "Yeah, he did say it would be nice to have some company… but I'm not sure." Sighing, she asks, "How did you decide on English Studies?"

It wasn't too difficult for him honestly. It helped that he was fairly certain he didn't want to study math or science going forward. "... I like stories. And I want to be able to read and share stories in a global medium, so I decided to study English."

He looks at her only to find her looking at him in fascination, "... Truth be told, I didn't spend too much time thinking about it. The career aptitude test returned similar results as well, so I just went with it." He shrugs, "I think I'll enjoy it. Let's see."

"Ahh, you sound so optimistic about your studies, Kurosaki-kun. I wish I could be like that."

They've reached her apartment building now and she turns to look at him, wistfully. He wishes he could do something for her, ease her anxieties in some way.

"What about you?" He asks.

She looks at him, puzzled.

"... You've told me all about what everyone wants you to do. What do you want to do? I'm sure you must have some inkling."

“... I,” she stops, opens her mouth again to say something, but nothing comes out. “... what I want… ah, you’ll probably think it’s silly.” She smiles wistfully to herself, because this wasn’t something that she’d ever admitted out loud.

He rolls his eyes, “... Try me.” Because she was many things, and yes, definitely silly sometimes in that unique way of hers, but he would never, could never, call her dreams silly. It’s a moment of realization for him, when he gets angry with the way she dismisses her own dreams that way, and he feels overwhelmed with the desire to pick them up, and keep them safe where no one can trample them, along with that spaced-out, wistful smile of hers.

“Well,” she gulps, nervous, “I’ve never really thought too much about going to university. Sensei says I’m wasting my potential... but honestly, I think I’ll be happy working.”

She looks at him unsurely, waiting for a reaction, an opinion, like everyone else. Everyone who’d been urging her to continue school and pursue all kinds of studies that she could possibly do, but… “I just - I want to build a simple life with someone I love. A family, maybe, someday.”

It comes out so fast, she wishes she could grab the words and shove them back in her mouth. She chances a glance at him, her cheeks hot and furiously embarrassed.

His expression is unreadable as he gazes down at her. She’s beautiful in the moonlight, he thinks, and it isn’t really a revelation to him, but the melancholy of her beauty is, the loneliness that he wishes he could extinguish as easily as he does hollows. “A simple life huh…” he murmurs. And he can almost picture it, Orihime, ten years from now, a child in her arms, a little boy maybe, with her wide brown eyes and -

“Well, looks like you have planned it out better than any of us,” he manages hoarsely, unable to look her in the eye anymore. Not with all these… feelings simmering so close to the surface. And before he can help himself, “Do you already know who this mystery man is?”

He’s come to realize how absolutely unequipped he is to hear the answer, but her unassuming statement has already taken residence inside him somehow, a burning sensation accompanying it.

His question jolts her into consciousness, and she notices they’re almost at her apartment. “Ah Kurosaki-kun is very curious today,” she laughs nervously, “only one confession per day! That’s the limit!” The fake cheer in her voice grates in her own ears but she hopes desperately it will steer him away because she’s this close to telling him sometimes, and this was one of those times. Especially in these rare moments when she feels an odd mixture of weakness and greed, where she wants to latch on to him and ask him to stay by her side, hoping selfishly that his kindness will make him say yes. But Orihime was practiced at hiding those feelings away.

“Is that right,” he smiles teasingly, albeit weakly, “... I didn’t know you were so mysterious, Inoue. Well goodnight, then.”

And as he watches her climb up the stairs to her floor, and then lean over the railings to wave goodbye one more time, he can’t help but think of that image of her again, happy and in love and so beautifully fulfilled. And he thinks of the shadow of the man next to her, who will protect that dream and that smile, and his stomach clenches bitterly.

“You deserve it,” he whispers to her retreating figure, “... You deserve all of it.”

Warning! Down below, you will find a HEADCANNON on my Ichigo’s post war DEPRESSION, SELF - HATRED, and REGRETS. Do NOT read this if you are squeamish cause this can get quite twisted, and also, if you don’t, obviously, want SPOILERS for some events of Thousand Year Blood War’s final chapters. You have been warned.

Okay, so, to those who remember the scene of Ichigo cutting the Soul King in half, and ending the World as we knew it at that time? One will remember that we saw a couple panels of the human world slowly falling to ruin. They were hit by an EARTHQUAKE so powerful that no one could figure out, in the world, what the fuck was going on. It was off the scales of a normal Earthquake, and because of this, you cannot TELL ME nothing came from that sort of damage.

So, thinking on it with a group of friends...we assumed that well. It wasn’t just all ROSES and SUNSHINE for the human world, even when the Soul King was replaced by Yhwach and the world was held together. Because there was several minutes AT LEAST that the world would have suffered that earthquake, and an earthquake can do a LOT of damage, very quickly.

So after some going over it with some friends, we came up to the conclusion that quite a BIT of damage was dealt to the world, and that weighs HEAVY on Ichigo after the events of the war. His first couple months of finding out all the damage that was done, buildings damaged, people injured or even killed from the quake, etc...it really hits him hard. And he...doesn’t...take it easy. In fact, as everyone knows, Ichigo isn’t one to sit by and just...do nothing if he can do something. So after he finishes classes during the day, he does everything he can to try and help out people who are suffering after that earthquake.

But deep down, it kills him. Because he knows it was, in the end, HIS HAND that dealt this blow to HIS world, and the guilt hangs heavily over him. He hates himself every day for having fallen INTO that trap, and blames himself every time he sees a building damaged, or people injured in the accident.

And most nights? He can’t sleep. He runs himself ragged because he suffers from a CRIPPLING insomnia. Every time he actually manages to pass out, that event plays through his mind, night after night, of him slicing the King in two. Of Yhwach’s words echoing around him: This is all your fault! He trembles...and even finds himself whimpering in his sleep, his sisters tell him, loudly enough that sometimes Yuzu or even Karin have to wake him. Many a time they ask ‘who is Yhwach?’ And he can never bring himself to answer.

Another dream, he suffers from multiple, but the other that truly torments him, and even brings him to waking up...is the RETURN of the Father of Quincies. It always ends, and begins, differently...but it always bases around the same concept: a pleasant dream...that turns to a nightmare, as he watches EVERYONE he knows and loves, is TAKEN from him in a MOMENT.

Many times has Ichigo awoken in tears and sweat, TREMBLING and SHAKING, but berating himself for his fears. He’s gone. He’s fucking dead! But never truly able to bring himself to believe it...

I want this so much for myself so thats why I will do some translations out of pocket but when I do have translated clips I will be posting them for your benefit too. So if anyone wants to help.. please do message me. Maybe you have something i’m not aware of already translated or on the back burner and if so I would really appreciate hearing about it :)

Shinichi Weekend 2020 Day 4-Final

“You’re looking at it again Ichi-Nii,” Yuzu called out cheerfully as she slid down the arm of the Kushanada that she had deemed her favourite and brushed her dress off before wandering over to her big brother who was slouched in the Throne of Hell, staring longingly at the grey mark on the palm of his left hand.

“I can’t help it Yuzu, I feel like this is important but I can’t remember why.” Ichigo scrubbed his right hand through his long orange hair and sighed in defeat before looking at his sister.

“Where’s Karin?” Ichigo stood up from the Throne and laughed as Yuzu vaulted up onto his shoulder with practiced ease and he held onto her knees to keep her in place.

“Training with Shiro and Garogai again,” Yuzu waved at the wandering Kushanada that they passed as Ichigo walked.

“They dot on her too much,” Ichigo chuckled fondly as distance explosions echoed, backing up Yuzu’s words.

“Milord! There you are! It’s time!” Taikon bounced excitedly as he held up a blood-red cape with golden skulls decorating the mantle of it.

“Ugh, do I have to go to the what was it again?” Ichigo set Yuzu down to allow Taikon to settle the new cape into place around his shoulders.

“Meet and make peace with the Soul Society leaders, show them that Hell is under new management.” Shuren reminded Ichigo as he and Tensa dropped into view.

“Ugh, politics. Hell itself chose me isn’t that enough for the Shinigami?” Ichigo whined as he adjusted the mantle to sit comfortably around the shining armour that Hell itself gave him when he accepted his place as its King.

“We will just show them why Hell choose you,” Tensa reminded as he fell into his place at Ichigo’s right side, patting Yuzu’s head as he did so.

“I’m going to find Gunjo and make our usual rounds of Level One! Good luck Ichi-Nii!” Yuzu planted a kiss on Ichigo’s cheek when he leaned down to hug her.

“Be safe!” Ichigo called out needlessly, Yuzu was a Princess of Hell and Hell protected her as it did him. Not to mention that the Kushanada and Gunjo were strangely protective and terrified of her.

“Come back to us and do not let those Shinigami get into your head,” Shuren advised as Shiro suddenly dropped down into space on Ichigo’s left hefting his meat cleaver of a sword up onto his shoulder.

“Don’t let this place go too well Hell in my wake and if ANYTHING happens to Yuzu and Karin…” Ichigo trailed off, leveling Taikon and Shuren with glowing gold eyes and a deadly expression on his face. Shuren and Taikon nodded quickly, not speaking, they had seen Ichigo’s rage first hand and now as King of Hell, it only increased tenfold.

“Let’s go then King,” Shiro snapped his teeth together and Ichigo just rolled his eyes before lifting his right hand and gold light bubbled up from his palms and a gate of Hell opened and the trio stepped through it.

They stepped out into the human world, a town called Karakura Town that had been chosen as neutral ground for this meeting. Ichigo, Tensa and Shiro walked into the main park of the town to see the Captain-Commander himself standing there flanked by a few more Shinigami Captain’s. Shiro snorted at the show of power as he spun his sword aimlessly as he stared down the Shinigami.

“Ichigo?” A small woman with purple eyes in a plain Shinigami outfit blurted out, stepping forward but a man with a Captain’s Haori and kenseikan in his hair placed a hand on her shoulder, stilling her.

“What is the meaning of this Kurosaki Ichigo?” The Captain Commander rumbled out, stomping his hidden Zanpakuto as his eyes creaked open.

“You act as you know me, but I do not know any of you. I am Kurosaki Ichigo, the King of Hell, chosen by Hell itself.” Ichigo narrowed his eyes as he took in the unfamiliar faces, but one face he couldn’t help but focus on. It belonged to a Captain with blond hair with a Cheshire smile who was clutching at his right palm and a pained look of loss and longing in his eyes. Ichigo flinched as suddenly his left palm began to burn in a way it never had before.

“You truly don’t remember who we are?” The same woman from before spoke, heartbreak on her face but not nearly as deep as the blond man’s and therefore the woman didn’t interest Ichigo.

“Memories of my previous life had been erased to ease my transition into my position of King.” Ichigo didn’t understand why this caused such discomfort and sadness in the gathered Shinigami, but his eyes once again zeroed in on the blond as his mark began to pulse on his hand.

“Ichigo, go to him. Understand what that mark on your hands means.” Tensa encouraged in a low voice.

“We’ll watch your back King,” Shiro agreed as he bumped his sword against his shoulder, yellow eyes never leaving the gathered Shinigami. Ichigo hummed and moved until he was standing in front of the blond in a small burst of gold light.

“May I see your hand Captain-San?” Ichigo asked gently, not sure why he was talking to this man as if he was a prized loved one like Yuzu and Karin.

The man didn’t speak; he just released his hold on his hand and lifted it for Ichigo to look at. Ichigo’s breath left him all at once as a familiar mark stared back at him and he lifted his hand to show the Shinigami his matching mark. The Shinigami let out something like a sob as he pressed their hands together and the marks burst to colour and their souls sang.

“You’re what I’ve been missing, all this time and I had no clue that I had been searching for you,” Ichigo whispered in complete awe as he and his soulmate sank to the ground, overwhelmed by their souls mingling together.

“You were presumed dead, I truly thought you were dead Ichigo. When my mark turned grey I thought I lost you forever.” The man clutched at Ichigo’s hand like a lifeline.

“I’m so sorry I put you through that, I’m so sorry I left you behind, I’m sorry I don’t know why I did that.” Ichigo leaned forward to touch their foreheads together and the blond just let out a small smile.

“I’ve got you back now, that’s all that matters and I’m never letting you go again. Even if that means following you back to Hell.” The man announced loud enough for everyone to hear.

“Good, I don’t think I would be able to leave you behind now… Shinji,” Ichigo smiled as a name rolled off of his tongue like it was muscle memory and Shinji beamed.

“I’ll remind you of our old memories but we will make new ones as well,” Shinji promised, calming down a fear that had just made itself known in Ichigo’s mind. The King of Hell smiled and knew that Shinji was truly his.

“Now, let’s commence this meeting so I can bring my soul mate home.” Ichigo and Shinji rose and joined Shiro and Tensa to face the Shinigami hand in hand. United as soul mates and as King of Hell and his consort.

★ Criss Cross - Konton no Maou by Takahata Kyouichirou, published by MediaWorks. This was the very first book that made me interested in reading novels.

★ Natsu no Niwa - The Friends by Yumoto Kazumi, published by Shinchousha. When I felt down, I read this and my heart was cleansed.

★ Rirekisho by Nakamura Kou, published by Kawade Shobou Shinsha. Because it gave me courage.

★ Tsubasa wa Itsu Made Mo by Kawakami Ken'ichi, published by Shuueisha. I simply thought that it was a really good book, and reading it made me want to read more books like it in the future.

★ Tsumetai Kousha no Toki wa Tomaru by Tsujimura Mizuki, published by Kodansha. This was the book that reminded me that I wanted to keep reading novels forever.

All we know: Spoilers

Just a little extra info and random facts for anyone who’s finished All we know, if you don’t want certain parts of the fic spoiled, feel free to ignore until the end of the story.

POV

I wanted to do this solely from Ichigo’s POV to kind of be a mirror of canon? Idk, I’ve never written in someone’s POV for an extended period beyond Liar, Liar and I started All we know first.

Rukia’s eating disorder

As the fic was in Ichigo’s POV, I didn’t delve too deeply into Rukia’s troubling coping mechanism.

Just as how they never say the words depression/anxious/suicidal, they’ve attempted to distance themselves from their own self-destruction while still acknowledging their existence.

Mental illness

I have them. Yay. I wanted a way to write about it in an adjacent sort of fashion which became difficult not only in the reliving but also as I started my own therapy journey.

While mine is a result of the trauma of emotional neglect, Ichigo and Rukia’s was triggered by the loss of their loved ones - how much of it was just result of grief and already existing isolation (in Rukia’s case), is up for debate.

The ending

I wanted to leave it open-ended with no confirmation of whether they’ve become anything more not just because I think their relationship doesn’t need the label - they’re definitely more than friends and less than lovers at this stage - but also because they’re at a point where it would be easy to make something more of their relationship that neither of them would be ready for.

Keeping it open-ended worked for me in the sense that they’re both trying to do better by not taking an easy way out - using someone else and the distraction of a romantic relationship - to block out their issues, and instead of being solidly there for one another without any further expectation.

Would they eventually become a thing? Absolutely. I still ship ichiruki after all.

The original concept

It was going to be a coming-of-age fic where they basically keep running into each other but spend more than a few minutes with one another. It would always be them catching each other at equally pivotal and quiet moments in their lives by pure chance.

Rukia would never have met Karin or Yuzu, though his family would continue to suspect someone new in Ichigo’s life.

They would eventually have one night together - nothing explicit or even romantic - just them kind of being genuine kids, and being together and having fun and being happy.

It would be the calm before the storm. There’d be an accident on their way home and Ichigo would wake up alone at the hospital.

Rukia doesn’t die, but no one tells Ichigo differently because Byakuya pays for the medical bills and doesn’t press charges on the condition that they never contact Rukia again.

Byakuya’s behavior is half his protectiveness of Rukia’s state (which he believes is partially Ichigo’s fault as he was driving without a license though he was not the cause of the accident) and half his own shame that he’d been so negligent of her and hadn’t cared for her as he should’ve.

The Kurosakis agree though any kind of reassures that they give Ichigo that Rukia is okay (even in the abstract sense) do not placate him.

Ichigo grieves a second time.

The final scene involved a timeskip of Ichigo at university and because I’m a btich, it would’ve implied some half-hearted ichime-ending akin to the bitterness of the end of the manga. Ichigo’s back home from Tokyo, visiting his mother at the cemetery. His family suspects he’s only pretending to be alright, and Ichigo admits to his mother that he is and that he’s sorry his life wasn’t worth saving.

As he’s about to leave, he sees Rukia visiting her sister.

Thoughts TM on the Live Action (hard spoilers ahead. Also, warning: it’s long.):

- Firstly, the casting. The absolute Best casting decision in this whole movie, visuals-and-acting-wise, is Isshin hands down. He LOOKS like Isshin, he ACTS like Isshin-- actually, Movie!Isshin > Manga!Isshin. They toned down the goof a tiny bit, played up his love and concern for the kids, and put him in an APRON for 90% of his screentime and made him the homemaker. (A++++ MOVE, WHY THE HELL WAS YUZU COOKING FOR EVERYBODY AT THE AGE OF NINE. BAD DECISION KUBO).

- Second best casting decision is Kuchiki Rukia. I remember when her stills first came out I wasn’t 100% on this casting because sure she was gorgeous but she looked????? SO YOUNG????? but guys, she nailed it. NAILED IT. Hana Sugisaki based goddess and if u aren’t her fan now you will be by the time the movie ends.

- Sota Fukushi as Ichigo.... hm. Given that my only criteria when drawing Ichigo is to make him as hot as humanly possible, it was 100% guaranteed that any actor they put up for the role would fall short of my visual expectations from an Ichigo. NGL there are more good looking men out there than Sota Fukushi but to quote both Ro and I from our rabb.it chat during the movie...... sota fukushi hard smash

(- ok but a serious dilemma: are we attracted to him because he’s attractive, or because he’s playing ichigo and ichigo’s attractive????

-also, chad’s actor hard smash as well)

- SPEAKING of Chad.... he had. Minimal role in the movie but I love that they showed a bit of his bromance with Ichigo. It was always such a cute friendship and they did it justice with what little they showed! Anyway, I like his casting and Orihime’s too, visually speaking.

- The other casts were fine. Not !!!! worthy but like not terrible casting either. Honestly I feel like Miyavi as Byakuya could have really worked if they hadn’t given him that... AWFUL hair. The hair is even more awful in the movie than it is in the still cuts. Believe it.

- A final note on the casting... I really hated noticing this but Orihime’s actress? Erina Mano? Looks a LOT like the actress they cast for Masaki and i hate noticing it but I did. But it’s not time for the ir tea/ih salt yet that comes later

- Secondly: Characterisation. Overall decent, but you can really tell that like... they spent the most amount of care on getting the central IR dynamic right and sorta just went ‘lol that’s good enough’ for the others. It’s almost like they spent all of their characterisation budget on IR and had minimal left over to spare for minor characters (e.g: Orihime). You’ll see what I mean.

- Once again, hands down best characterisation in the whole movie is Isshin and Rukia. Isshin’s bodily comedy with Ichigo was done SO realistically, in a way that’s funny and not too over-the-top. The way they kept playing off each other as slightly overbearing father and moody teenage son was FANTASTIC. And one of the moments that had me MOST emotional in this movie was when Isshin was shown by Ichigo’s bedside, taking care of him while he’s recovering from injuries. Ichigo, upon waking from a dream of his mum, asks Isshin if he ever dreams of her. Isshin’s answer? ‘Every night’. EVERY NIGHT, MOTHERFUCKER. GOD I was never a hard isshimassa stan but this movie got me FEELING things for them

- Hana’s interpretation of Rukia is FANTASTIC. Unbelievably spot on. The emotional unavailability, her rigid initial adherence to what she believes is the shinigami code, the adorable naivete re: human world customs, the way she steamrollers over Ichigo, the way that, no matter how hard she tries to be aloof, she can’t hide the fact that she cares. She cares so much. And honestly, if there’s one thing this movie does well, it’s how they managed to get those manga-panel comic violence situations to translate so well to reality. Isshin-on-Ichigo violence translated well, and the Rukia-on-Ichigo violence translates excellently as well. Their little bickering scenes play out EXACTLY how I, at least, imagined them to go, and I couldn’t be happier about it. Also, I honestly think her looking really young works to her advantage, because it really gives you a sense of like… how bemused Ichigo must be by this whole situation. My predominant thought every time hana is on screen is SHE’S SO CUTE AND LOVELY I CAN’T DEAL WITH IT, except this tiny girl who you can only think of as ‘cute’ is like…. Bossing you around and beating your ass with a sword and instilling fucking philosophy lessons in you. It’s so surreal? And if it’s surreal for US then just imagine how surreal it must be for Ichigo.

- Sota’s Ichigo.... once again, hmm. His ‘trying to be cool’ acting (i.e. during the fight scenes) was cringey, but I can’t tell if that’s his acting skill or just the fact that what looks ‘cool’ on manga panels inVARIABLY look cringey in real life. Probably the latter. And I think he’s a LITTLE too growly for my taste, but then again, I’m used to post-timeskip Ichigo who’s a bit more... low-key cynical rather than prickly. Initial Ichigo was pretty abrasive, so I guess that’s in-character. Also, his most-said line of dialogue in this movie is ‘HAH??’ which is hilarious and very in-character. Honestly, Hana as Rukia is straight up excellent for the whole duration of the movie but I definitely think Sota shone MOST when he was acting in combination with Isshin or Rukia. Whatever I think about his individual acting skills, he definitely had chemistry with those actors in terms of dynamics.

- Guys, the IR in this is fantastic. Brilliant. Like I said, their bickering plays out to a TEE how I imagined things to go. Literally cannot fault their bickering. Their soft heartfelt moments are SO GOOD too. And they were all shot so…. Intimately? Their softer scenes were shot with such heartbreaking tenderness and I just….. ugh. Hana Sugisaki REALLY brought her acting A-game. ALSO THE WAY LITERALLY EVERYONE THINKS THEY’RE DATING??? RENJI SHOWS UP AND IS LIKE ‘OOPS I THINK I KILLED YOUR BOYFRIEND’ TO RUKIA. RENJI SAYS THAT. BYAKUYA THINKS SHE’S TOO ‘EMOTIONALLY INVOLVED’. Not to even mention Keigo and Tatsuki and Orihime……. God. Absolutely unbelievable.

- Now, if I was being picky and HAD to talk about a few gripes…. Let’s see. It takes Ichigo more time to warm up to Rukia than in canon, and he’s more of an asshole to her in this time period too. But y’know, that’s a very minor gripe. The other teeny tiny gripe I have about the IR is like…. A gripe but also not a gripe at the same time lmfao. OK so at the end when Renji and Byakuya are trying to take Rukia away, Ichigo plants himself in front of Rukia and says ‘I’m going to protect you’ and he repeats this multiple times in the fight, which, yes, extremely shippy, I’m going to die on the pavement et al, but also… this might be a weird gripe for some, because the ir dynamic has always been them protecting and saving each other. But not in so many words? It’s always been a very equal protection dynamic, partly because Rukia won’t LET him be her protector. I subscribe to the meta that this is precisely why she’s good for Ichigo. It’s also what drives him up the wall, because WHY WON’T SHE LET HIM KEEP HER SAFE, but it’s the fact that Rukia REFUSES to be one of his ‘protected people’, the fact that Rukia DEMANDS equal footing to him, that quashes down the more destructive aspects of his will to protect. But yeah, I feel like that line – ‘I’m going to protect you/her’, repeated multiple times—sort of erases the inherent equality in their dynamic and puts Rukia in the ‘protected’ pile. But that’s just because the movie didn’t have enough time for the rest of the arc. Look honestly the ir in the movie is FINE. The only reason I’m even bringing this up is because I have the manga version to compare it to, and it’s an unfair comparison to begin with because obviously the manga has so much more to work with. Overall, if you’re worried about the IR characterisation in this movie—don’t be. They hard carried the whole thing. Sota and Hana are an absolute DELIGHT to watch playing off each other. They have GREAT chemistry supported by well-shot scenes and good dialogue. 11/10 worth watching just for these two alone.

- Yuzu and Karin. Even though they changed their designs to look identical in the movie (I’m guessing for the instant visual cue of ‘oh they’re twins!’), I’m glad they kept their personalities the same. Karin is snarky as ever, Yuzu is sweet. So +1 for that. But then they made Yuzu (Karin?) say ‘Onii-chan, I’m scared’ during the fishbone D attack, rather than the canonical ‘get away, you’ll get hurt’. Which… look, fair, she’s eleven, I think that’s more realistic, but ALSO YOU JUST???? CHANGED HER WHOLE CHARACTERISATION. CAN WE PUT SOME RESPECT ON HER NAME PLEASE

- Uryuu……hmm. They made him a LITTLE more chill than he was in the manga, but he was such a dramatic character in canon already that he still comes off pretty darn dramatic in the movie. I did really like his characterisation, but he had such little screentime that I’m finding it difficult to like… do any substantial comparisons to his manga character. I’m thinking I might need a rewatch to solidify my opinions on Uryuu. But his little scene at the very end with Ichigo after they all lose their memories of Rukia is very sweet and makes me wonder about their dynamic if they hadn’t had all this quincy-shinigami bs to sort through.

- Chad was in the movie even less than Uryuu, but I have no complaints about his characterisation. Pretty accurate to manga canon.

- Guys I LOVE Keigo in this movie. ‘He died on the spot’ Iconic roast. LET KEIGO ROAST ICHIGO 2K18

- Tatsuki was eh. She wasn’t in the movie long enough for me to really have an opinion on her characterisation, and it’s unfortunate that the only part of her character they brought from manga canon was the ‘give Orihime bad advice on how to date Ichigo’ part, but whatever. It’s not technically WRONG characterisation, just not the FULL characterisation.

- Orihime…………… god, Orihime. Look you guys know that even though I have my ‘and NONE FOR ORIHIME BYE’ days, they’re mostly in jest, and I actually do appreciate her as a character. I like her, mostly! I think she’s fascinating to write about and explore! I think she deserved good things, better things than what the ending set her up for!

- But I’d strangle movie Orihime without hesitation. Bye bitch

- OK, you know how you thought anime Orihime with her constant ‘Kurosaki-kun’s was annoying??? Movie orihime was WORSE. Movie Orihime? Straight up yandere. She literally doesn’t have a single appearance where she’s not talking about Ichigo or being weirdly jealous of Ichigo and Rukia’s friendship or worrying about Ichigo in an overbearing, over-the-top way. And I’m actually really frustrated and disappointed about this, because early Karakura Orihime was ACTUALLY A GOOD CHARACTER!!!!!! Orihime, imo, is the most egregious OOC in this movie. Which is a shame, because the rest of the characterisation was actually… ok and decent

- Renji and Byakuya….. ohhhh boy. Renji and Byakuya are characterised as straight up villains for the whole movie with no redemption. There’s no nuance of them being possibly friendly and/or having concern for Rukia at all throughout the whole movie, which could be OOC depending on how you look at it, but honestly it makes sense considering this movie only covers up to chapter 56 Broken Coda and does NONE of the SS arc. Basically, their characterisations are how we would characterise them based on the one time they came to collect Rukia. They’re cold, uncaring, think humans aren’t worth anything, and that emotions are a human weakness. RENJI STRAIGHT UP SWINGS A SWORD AT AN UNARMED CIVILIAN CLOTHED RUKIA (yes I know it happened in the manga too but. It’s a lot more shocking watching it happen real-time) and also STABBED!!!! URYUU!!!!!! IN THE BACK!!! WHILE HE WASN’T DOING ANYTHING THREATENING!!! So, uh, this movie really said ‘fuck renji rights’. God I’m imagining like… if ur introduction to Bleach was through this movie, and you decided to look up how the manga ends and it’s RENRUKI and you’re like ?????????????? THE DUDE SWUNG A SWORD AT HER????? Like FORGET IH, this movie really fucking hated rr. Which… im not mad about lmfao

- Final note on characterisation: as usual, IR fucking hard carries, but what ELSE is new for this franchise. Isshin was a surprising dark horse. Overall, characterisation FINE, not OOC with one glaring exception, but sometimes because of time constraints certain characters didn’t get their FULL RANGE of characterisation.

- THIRDLY: overall technical excellence of the movie in terms of script, camera angles, choreography, CGI, etc etc

- My one line summary for this is…. It’s an anime live action adaptation. I hope ur not expecting much from this department at all

- Like, in terms of is it a GOOD movie? Lmfao. I enjoyed the hell out of it, sure, but I don’t think someone who has no idea what bleach is would a) understand what the heck is going on OR b) find the story to be well-paced and well-told. Like, I KNEW what was coming and what was going on, and even I found the movie to be a bit disjointed, kind of like old metal machinery that needs oiling to get going.

- Honestly this movie is similar to the manga in that… technically speaking it’s not great, but its strengths lie in the character arcs and the overall poetic parallels it tries to pull. It may not have been the most artistically executed, but I could tell that they really tried to put the parallel in between IR protecting each other and Masaki dying to protect Ichigo. Like, an attempt was noted! It was appreciated! Obviously they don’t do it with as much grace as the manga did but y’know, they tried!

- The script was actually really great in this movie. Bleach is a very snarky manga and the script really showcases that. Everyone shows a lot of sass. I like that. The one exception to the script being good was whenever a hollow opened its mouth to speak. They really gave the hollows dialogue like ‘I WANT YOUR SOUL’ and ‘GIVE ME YOUR SOUL’…. Like. Someone got paid for that dialogue and they really shouldn’t have.

- I honestly don’t have an opinion on the CGI. Ro kept saying that the cgi was BAD and like I guess it was, but I’m pretty lenient about CGI in general. I already know it’s going to be CGI so unless it’s BLATANTLY fake I overlook it.

- But there is this ONE SCENE of Renji going into shikai that looks so awfully fake that even I was like ‘ok no that was BAD’ so I guess CGI bad

- The choreo in the fight scenes is messy and disjointed and very cringey. I can’t believe they managed to pull manga-style comical violence in REAL LIFE and make it look believable and funny, but couldn’t choreography a decent fight scene……. Man idk. I guess they really DID spend all their budget on making IR as excellent as possible.

- Overall: technically speaking it’s a terrible movie, but will that hinder your enjoyment of it? Probably not. Watch it just for the excellent banter.

- FINALLY: Miscellaneous yelling about various scenes through 120% Ichiruki-filtered glasses.

- Guys, this movie. This movie. They really sat down and said ‘ok give them literally every single early-karakura ichiruki fanfic trope situation ever’ and that’s it, that’s the movie

- ICHIGO KEEPS LEANING DOWN RIGHT INTO RUKIA’S FACE!!!! THEY HAVE NOOOOO CONCEPT OF PERSONAL SPACE!!!! Which I guess is canon but THEY KEEP!!!!! LEANING!!!!! INTO EACH OTHER!!!! I will DIE

- The sPARRING????????? THE SPARRING?????

- Ichigo smirks while sparring her. She’s kicking his ass and goddammit, he LIKES it

- They legit made Rukia tackle Ichigo and pin him to the ground and then they made Ichigo flip them around

- And then they made ORIHIME WALK IN ON THAT

- UN!!!! BELIEVABLE!!!!!!!

- (Sidenote: they made Orihime act so weirdly jealous of that?? Like… wtf orihime. You’re not his girlfriend like she has no rights to be acting like this…. Look the Orihime characterisation in this movie is A Mess)

- They have conversations through shut closet doors while ichigo’s lying on his bed THIS APPEARS IN EVERY. SINGLE. IR EARLY KARAKURA FIC EVER IM

- Ichigo: CAN YOU GET OUT OF MY CLOSET. NO YOU CAN’T LIVE IN MY HOUSE

- Also Ichigo, the INSTANT he can’t find Rukia in his closet: WHERE IS SHE. LET ME JUST RUN AROUND IN THE DARK OUTSIDE TO FIND HER. HEY URYUU HOW DO I GET TO THE AFTERLIFE. WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CAN’T BRING HER BACK. SO WHAT IF I DO, HUH? WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO ABOUT IT. FIGHT ME

- Also ichigo becomes so much SOFTER towards Rukia after a certain point in this movie and…. God…… I love that you can see that switch in Sota’s acting. I’m going to CRY

- OK THIS IS A VERY SHORT SCENE BUT AT ONE POINT RUKIA LANDS ON A ROOFTOP WITH AN INJURED ICHIGO AND SHE LIT. RUBS HER HANDS ALL OVER THE BARE SKIN ON HIS CHEST BC SHE’S RUBBING MEDICINE INTO HIM!!!!!! WHAT THE FUCK!!!! WHERE’S THE M-15 RATING ON THIS MOVIE BC SHE LEGIT!!! HAD HER HANDS!!!! ALL OVER HIM!!!!! Ro and I shouted abt this so much God

- The final fight is RIDICULOUS in terms of HOW MUCH ICHIGO WON’T STAY DOWN and it’s framed SO dramatically lmfao but y’know, it’s shot in a very IR light, I’ll take it

- Ro and I literally were just like IT’S THE POWER OF LOVE BITCH bc he legit just KEPT getting up it was ridiculous

- Also rukia’s final speech to ichigo after she does her whole broken coda ‘don’t touch my brother lowly human’ spiel is…. Beautiful. Fucking excellent

- ‘you’re rude and brash and I’m sick of all humans especially you’ but like. Why is this literally kate’s ’10 things I hate about you’ speech at the end of that movie

- ICHIGO DOESN’T TAKE HIS EYES OFF RUKIA THE WHOLE TIME SHE’S ERASING HIS MEMORIES. DOESN’T EVEN BLINK. THIS IS SOME EP 342 TEAS ALL OVER AGAIN. FUCK. I’M GOING TO!!!! DIE!!!

- Ok so my opinion on how they changed the end: it was necessary to tie things all up in one movie but that doesn’t mean I don’t hate the fact that ichigo ostensibly forgot rukia when in canon HE’S THE ONLY ONE THAT REMEMBERED

- I guess the final scene where he looks at her writing on his textbook and smiles could be a sort of clue that he’s starting to remember. Man idk I think I’d just feel really cheated as a viewer who isn’t coming from a bleach manga/anime background, that everyone just conveniently ‘forgot’. It’s equivalent to an ‘it was all a dream!’ kind of ending imo. It’s a copout. But at the same time I can see why it was necessary :’/

- Also, this exchange with uryuu at the end where they exchange hellos before pulling up short and going ‘wait- do I know you?’ ‘no. but good to know you’ was SO HEARTBREAKING BUT SO GOOD I REALLY DID LOVE THAT

- Whoo ok I’m SURE I’ve forgotten some details but this is already EXCESSIVELY long so. Final FINAL thoughts:

- The quality of the movie is, obviously, not great, but if you were worried about weird chara interpretations and relationships, don’t be. Unless you’re an IH/RRstan or an Orihime fan. This will not be a fun movie for you. But then again, you managed to work through 686 chapters of a manga that clearly wasn’t fun for you and seemed to be ok with it, so maybe this movie won’t bother you either.

- The script is surprisingly solid and has genuinely good, occasionally touching, snarky, sassy dialogue. Good attempts at poeticism and various parallels and callbacks.

- Ichiruki fucking hard carries, and so does isshin. I love uryuu but that may just be my uryuu bias talking.

- Objectively, maybe a 4, 5/10. Ichiruki-wise? 8/10. Obviously this was written in a high straight after the movie and like, maybe after a few days or like a rewatch or w/e my opinions may change. But rn? God I love stanning legends, viva la ichiruki fuck you

When I was in Hong Kong on holiday some insect bit me just under my lip and when I got back home I had to get it lanced. I remember being able to see a ton of puss and blood coming out in my peripheral vision. Then my dad joked that I looked like Mick Jagger after!

I love horror. Not all out gore though. I love playing horror games because I get really involved in the thrill of being scared.

So sad Silent Hills got cancelled. I would have simultaneously loved it and filled my pants through every single moment of that game!

The Third Ending

Hello

Here is another recommendation for you all to read and it's called " the third ending" Its fairly new, but has a very good plot line. I have talked about this in my march favorites journal but i'll post the summary here again.

Manhwa summary:

“Seo Yoon Seul, who's lived a perfect life so far, becomes a wreck when he starts having nightmares of a boy whom he coldly rejected when he was a student. The nightmares get even worse when he reunites with Kang Joon. Following his advice on becoming a good person to avoid nightmares, Yoon Seul approaches him to win his favor.” firstly there is nothing more appealing than a guy that's into baking...am I right ladies? This is one of the newer series that had been published recently but have gotten some rather good attention. I had my doubts but I read it and it was actually really good so far, I was impressed. The characters are really likable especially joon, he works in a local bakery and he likes making cookies, in fact he made his crush, yoon seul some yuzu cookies for his birthday, not for any particular reason he just wanted to give it to him. I don’t know about you guys but a guy that loves to bake gets me every time, the fact that it wasn’t the basic kind of cookies too and he put so much effort into it is really endearing.

The story starts off with yoon seul waking up to a confession from a boy during his high school years and he had been consistently having that dream for a while and each time he had the dream the person he rejected would act differently. He started to actually lose sleep over it until one night when his family asked him to pick up some bread on the way back and so he stopped at a new bakery near his work place and low and behold, the guy who confessed to him was working at the cash register, that was then he finally remembered his face, this was of course kang joon. Of course the two of them felt a little awkward and thought the other didn’t remember what happened in high school, so they pretended not to know each other. Later yoon seul kept having that dream gain after seeing joon, his brother think it’s because he rejected him harshly so it was karma.lol. yoon seul thought the best way to solve the problem was to keep visiting joon every day to buy bread, he tried changing his hairstyle every day to get joon’s attention only to receive the same cold response “ that will be 2300 won” he was going to give up until he visited during the day time and joon was taking over for another worker that was sick, joon works the night shift only and that’s usually when yoon seul picks up bread after work. Joon ended up accidentally spilling some pastries onto yoon seul after being startled by him. This lead to a good chance for them to talk and joon wanted to pay for yoon seul’s suit to be dry cleaned, but instead yoon seul asked if he can grab lunch together instead.lol. After reacquainting himself with joon he found that he liked hanging out with him so he wanted to become friends and hang out more often, of course joon is being conflicted because of what happened in high school but took him on his offer when he asked to see a movie with him.

I think my favorite part was the attempted “date” they went on because yoon seul dressed up so nicely and his sister was like “what kind of girl got you to act like this?” and he nonchalantly said “it’s a guy” and dressed up really well as if he was going on a date. But on his date with joon a lot of shit happened like getting the movie date times mixed up and going into a restaurant where people broke out into a fight.LOL. Not getting into any places to sit for coffee because it was all full. I’m reading this and laughing cause this stuff happens to me a lot, so very relatable. Yoon seul as a character is an interesting character, he may seem like a dick but he really just is blunt and speaks his mind, he doesn’t bother with things that he can’t gain from lol. Basically the dudes trying to min/max his life to the fullest, and with joon, he just finds that they were compatible in conversation and mannerisms so that is why yoon seul enjoys his company. thanks to the recent updates I think I know why it's called the third ending, lol because third times the charm~ you can't really blame yoon seul for not returning joon's feelings earlier on, you can't force yourself to have feelings for someone, I just think he needs time to figure it out himself what the difference is from normal friendship that he has with his bros, to how i treat a person I have feelings for. I think eventually yoon seul will understand that he likes joon romantically, I can't wait to see that happen for them. that's all for this week, please read it on bomtoon and support the author!

Yona ch.152 spoilers

Akatsuki no Yona chapter 152 “But this is not the only thing I treasure” summary

Even if the dragons are better, they still can’t move their arms so Yona, Yoon and Hak have to feed them. Jae-Ha is a bit embarrassed about being nursed at his age. Shin-Ah notices something’s up with Hak and asks him if he doesn’t feel well. Hak’s like “what do you mean?” then tells Yoon he has something to do and would like to leave the camp for a while tomorrow to meet with someone. Yoon says it’s fine, but then he remembers Yona told him she’d like to take a bath tomorrow so he would like Hak to stay while she’s away to help the dragons. Yona tells them not to mind her and Hak should go if he wants to go. Hak looks at her and says he’ll stay until she’s done bathing.

The following day, Yona undresses and washes into a pond, thinking she must hurry because she doesn’t want to make Hak wait for her. She also noticed he looked sad and although she doesn’t know why, she’s convinced it’s somehow her fault for letting it happen. She’ll try hard not to be a burden to him.

She comes back still dripping wet to Zeno and Hak and both are worried for her. Hak puts her cloak on her head so she won’t catch a cold (I think he tries to dry her hair too?). She says she’ll be fine and he should go. Yona wonders why he looked so stiff while he was talking to her, where he wants to go and whom he’ll meet, but she’s scared to ask because she wants to be nice to him and she wants him to smile. Hak leaves after telling the HHB to light a firework if something happens.

Yoon wonders where Hak went. Kija thinks he went to see the Wind tribe. Jae-Ha tells Yona to come sit close to the fire because it’s warm and Yoon brings her yuzu tea. Sharp Jae-Ha is sharp: he asks her if something happened with Hak. She denies it, but he sees through her lies. Both were looking gloomy after all. She says she didn’t know what to do. Hak has a fiancee. They’re all o_O what kind of bomb did you just drop on us?!

Kija asks her if it’s true. Yona says she overheard the Wind tribe talking about it, and it was Mundok who decided it apparently. Meanwhile, Zeno and Shin-Ah are asleep (?) and Jae-Ha tells them to wake up because it is important news. Yona explains about the Wind tribe waiting for his return, her advising him to go back to Fuuga for a while to see them, and how he reacted (”Am I unneeded?”). So she told him about wanting to give him back his freedom when the time is right... and her audience is left gasping: Yoon says that sounds exactly like she’s saying he’s not needed, like he’s lost his place among their group. Yona is shaken and realizes her mistake...

Author notes: The track “Take care part 2″ from the new drama CD has the same content as the extra chapter at the end of the newly released volume 25.

Yona regrets not being able to express herself in a better way. She ended up hurting Hak instead. Kija thinks there’s no need to say it in a better way. As long as she’s able to communicate what she truly feels, Hak will understand (Kija is blushing as he says that!). Jae-Ha tries to reassure her: maybe that fiancee thing was a misunderstanding and she should ask Hak about it. Yona says she’s afraid to ask.

Jae-Ha: Afraid? Why? Would it bother you if Hak had a fiancee?

Yona: If I had to say whether it bothers me or not, it’d bother me a lot.

Jae-Ha: Hahaha! I thought so. Then you should tell him that, too.

Yona: I can’t!

Jae-Ha: You can’t?

Yona: Because... maybe he's meeting with Ayame-san right now.

Yona goes on about the “talk” he’d said they’d have but didn’t, and wonders if he’s mad at her. Jae-Ha says if she’s not honest with Hak, he might misunderstand and go off somewhere (he’s telling her that’s pretty much what happened). “Are you still fine with that?” he asks, smiling just like Zeno is.

Yona strongly shakes her head. *She knows he barely just left, but she wants to see Hak already.* Jae-Ha & Kija smile, then Shin-Ah spots Hak coming back (what a coincidence!!! ahem). Apparently he went to buy food and weapons from traveling merchants he knew would come here around this time of the year.

Yona immediately apologizes for what she told him the day before. For using the wrong words and hurting him (she’s half-crying). She tells him about overhearing his conversation with the Wind tribe, and how she’s always felt like she stole him from them. She also mentions her fiancee and stumbles for words again. Hak’s like “Fiancee? Oh, you mean Ayame!” and Yoon & Jae-Ha are surprised he doesn’t deny it. Hak understands... so that’s why she told him to go back and spoke about his freedom.

Yona: *I must tell him!* Yes, but...

Yona: It doesn’t mean you’re unneeded or anything. You’re dear to me, Hak, so... So...

Yona: *I must tell him!*

Yona: Please stay with me...

Hak is surprised, then gets angry: “Didn’t I tell you already? I won’t leave you! It’s obvious!”. He wants her to understand he’s not doing this out of obligation. He treasures the Wind tribe and would go and save them if anything happened to them, but the place he wants to go back to is here (with them / meaning they’re his home). The HHB are shocked speechless with tears in their eyes. Like Yoon thought, Hak felt like an outsider when Yona told him to go back to Fuuga. Yona starts to apologize, but Hak tells her she doesn’t need to. He just wanted her to know that. After that, he insists that he’s not obeying/following her because of her father’s orders. It’s true he swore absolute obedience to King Il, his master, but even if she thinks she might not compare to him, she’s the one he decided to live for after following her and witnessing her strength and passion. She’s the one who taught him the pride of serving someone.

At this point they’re all crying except Hak. Zeno is giving out tissues to wipe their tears :P Yona wants to ask Hak one last thing: what will he do about Ayame if he’s not going back to Fuuga?

Hak: ...Look... I’ll tell you this because I don’t like misunderstandings... This fiancee thing is something gramps went and decided on his own.

Yona: Then isn’t it an absolute order...?

Hak: Ayame has a lover!

Yona: Huh? Wait, then you got reject-

Hak: I’m telling you you’re the one I like!!!

*Yona & HHB* o_O

Yona: ...Eh?

Hak: Don’t “eh” me! Ayame’s dating someone and I love you so that fiancee thing is bullshit, that’s what!

Hak: I’m tired out for the day! Did you get it or not?!

Red-faced Yona: ...Yes.

Hak: Alright. Aaah... I feel better now.

Hisa’s thoughts on the chapter:

Ahaha the chapter most of us waited for! But I think this time the real stars are the HHB, especially Jae-Ha and Kija. They all knew what was going on, and decided to help their dorky friends even if it might have cost them something (I’m not sure how Kija is handling all this, that’s one thing to be supportive of someone, but something else to sort out one’s own feelings).

Anyway, we knew from previous chapters Hak had a lot on his mind: Soo-Won, the Wind tribe, having to rely on others to help the DDHHB, the talk he wanted to have with Yona, his feelings for her... All this time we’ve seen him hide his emotions but also let them slip past his control like the time he went berserk against Soo-Won. So it’s only fair that he’d explode once again :D

What I wonder is how scripted this was. In the end this confession didn’t need much to happen: Yona, Hak & the Wind tribe all together in the same place. This didn’t specifically need to occur in Shin either, nor required recent or new characters, so did Kusanagi plan this from the start and used it when it was deemed right, or did she just make it up now because she felt the story needed it? Having old characters like Ayame and Min-Soo reappear after so long feel unnatural to me and I really hope they’ll be more fleshed out than that in the future. I’ll be sad if Ayame stays “the fake love interest who didn’t last half a chapter” and Min-Soo is remembered only as “the boy who lived” XD

Now for the next chapter, as it opens volume 27 I’m not sure we’ll get a true conclusion to that love confession. Part of me wants to believe the HHB will force a reply out of Yona, and part of me fears we might see a bit more of Yona’s inner turmoil until they’re all suddenly caught up in a new arc.

This will be my last summary :-( From now on I’ll only comment the chapters whenever I read them. I’ll post links to blogs and websites that have spoilers in a separate list soon.
