Can I ask why you dont buy sliced bread anymore? Do you have a local bread place you can buy from? Do you make your own?

hullo ruby!! so short answer is, we make our own. my mom got into making sweet hong kong breads when i was younger (bc it's super expensive at the market here but my mom was nostalgic) and then slowly we got into shokupan, then bagels, then ciabatta and easy rustic breads.

like, not to be that person but sliced bread is really too sugary for us (diabetes on both sides of the family) and we've always been very diy frugal so 🤷🏻‍♀️ is only natural for us to fall in the rabbit hole. plus the way packaged bread never really goes bad kinda freaked me out. if u have a stand mixer, u can skip the hand kneading all together and just let it go. or there are some recipes that don't require kneading at all.

i know that this is a very privileged way of living but if you have time and if you have 11 dollars for a bulk bag of bread flour (25lbs at a sam's club), here are some recipes?

this is how i introduced european bread to my committed to canton cuisine mother. an austrian guy making italian bread in mandarin with an atrocious accent lol but he has subtitles and is genuinely very good at simplifying breadmaking

for bagels, i use josh weissman's recipe. i know, we don't like him? i think? i don't understand the memes about him but he makes a good bagel. bulk everything seasoning is available at costco, i defo recommend that over making it yourself.

but uh yeah!! bread rant!! 🍞🥖🥐 <- don't make croissants, just buy em. you can't make everything and if u do, u will go insane

When was the last time you swam in a pool? 🏊‍♀️ Oh wow. When was the last time...? I’m generally not a fan of pools as I find the smell of chlorine too strong, but I think it was in 2021 when my co-workers and I went to Zambales for a quick vacation. Nobody was staying in the resort but us so we wanted to take advantage of the empty pool.

Would you rather have an indoor pool or outdoor pool? Outdoor, so I can be under the sun.

What was the last thing you said out loud? “You can eat the dumplings,” to my sister. I had bought them thinking I was craving dumplings, but I realized I wasn’t so I just gave the whole pack to her.

Do you think you could ever be an opera singer? Not at all. I can’t even be a ‘normal’ singer.

How often do you eat bread? 🥖 Idk...once a week? Maybe less on average? Bread isn’t all that common here; that’s what we have rice for.

When was the last time you looked in the mirror and thought you looked pale? Wednesday. I didn’t get enough sleep, hadn’t eaten in like...18 hours by that point, and it happened to be office day. I was pretty disoriented and I know it showed because I had like 5 people come up to me and ask if I even slept.

Have you ever wanted to be a nurse? 👩‍⚕️ Not once did it ever occur in my mind.

Would you ever want to be a nurse? Why or why not? No. The work just doesn’t suit my skillset so it’s not really something I ever considered.

Do you enjoy playing icebreaker games when you're in a group of people you just met? It depends on the situation I’m stuck in. I fucking hate icebreakers at work seminars/conferences; they’re always awkward, everyone is unwilling, and the games are almost always cringey, hahaha.

Have you ever been to a track meet? 🏃‍♀️ Yes. I facilitated/managed the event itself; I was not one of the runners, lmao.

Have you ever stayed in a suite? Yes but it’s not something we *always* do; we’ve gotten a suite a total of only like three times I think (and ALWAYS as a free upgrade, because my mom is in the industry haha). Just seems like throwing so much money for a place you’ll be at for only one or two days.

Ravus had barely had time to flinch as the baguette smacked into the side of his head. He’d been sitting in the solitude of his own sitting room, reading a book! Now they were soaring in through windows?! 

Grabbing the now-broken bread loaf from where it had landed on the floor, Ravus rose and stormed over to the window, ready to toss it back outside at his assaulter--! ...then paused... 

“John...?”  With a sigh, Ravus reluctantly lowered the bread and walked back to his chair. Damn it all... he wasn’t about to throw the baguette back at John. His sister would have his head if he did such a thing, anyhow...

🗡- Badass headcanon

Being a talented Hydrokinetic that she is, she usually uses water to do all the heavy lifting and little tricks. As a Galacho, I do not believe she would have done the heavy exercise and stretching that the Acrobatic Circus Performers do. Nonetheless I have a headcanon that since Marona fell in love with Lazarus, she got to learn a bit of the Acrobatics they did before she left Grulovia.

When her talent with water is blocked, she may not remember Matona but she remembers the Aquato Stretches and improves her own physique. Anything that she couldn’t do that she would think she could, is just brushed off as part of difficulties of having survived Maligula. She gains those sick Aquato muscles has the creativity to have new performances for her and Augustus to perform before Donatella arrived.

Once she remembers, she uses water once more to do the heavy lifting again since she has aged. Still, she can do more physical activity than what normal old ladies can’t do because of unexercised old people bones. Since she has regained a bit of lucidity, she can give a bit of advice to Augustus if he wants to do some water tricks during their performances.

Twins as they are, Lucy and Marona are very close siblings. They are often each others closest confidante within the Galochio family and tend to support each others decisions, sticking with each other despite what others might think.

Of course, they have their own individuality, and have their own loves and lives they head towards. With all that love and support given to each other, it is very rare that they would strongly go against each other’s decisions without understanding each other.

So when she came back to Grulovia and stopped the war, Marona could not understand why Lucy stayed with the Gzar. Lucy tried to speak about her reasons but ended up in an argument. 

It was unfortunate that this was the last time they talked to each other...

🥖- Food headcanon

To me, she has more baking vibes than cooking, although as an Aquato she’d spend more time with the latter since that would better provide nutrients for a family that does a lot of physical workout. 

She love spicy hot meals more than anything but has a bit of a sweet tooth when it comes to deserts. Also she doesn’t get brainfreeze so she can eat all the coldest deserts she want!!
