Boredom, boredom, & more boredom was what your day consisted of. For August it was rather unsuspectingly hot today and school wasn't making it any better.

Sitting at your desk felt like hell itself. Checking the time over and over again and happening to shift in your seat wasn't fun. You just wanted it to be over.

♡

You rested your head in your hand just to make the position you were in slightly less uncomfortable and annoying despite knowing it wouldn't do much.

♡

Out of boredom you drabbled on the piece of paper in front of you which was the assignment you were supposed to turn in but you couldn't help but hold onto it for a few more minutes just to draw cats and whatever you liked.

♡

Though you got this weird gut feeling.. like you couldn't help but feel someone was watching you, before catching a glimpse of movement out of the corner of your eye.

♡

You turned towards it to see your friend Colt trying to get your attention. You both usually sat together as that was your assigned sitting. As the teacher spoke you leaned in and let him whisper what he needed to say in your ear.

♡

"I got something cool I want to show you." Were the simple words that came out of his mouth. You shrugged it off not thinking much about it but the situation was much more drastic than you expected.

♡

You continued doodling on your paper when Colt nudge you. You raised your eyebrow at him and he pointed to your paper. The teacher was too far into his lesson for him to notice the both of you so you shared it with him.

You let him borrow a few markets and you drew on the paper together but not a lot for it to cover your answers but enough so that on the sides they were filled.

♡

You both had to lean in together so you could share the paper so obviously both of your shoulders would brush up against one another.

♡

As you both drew your colorful disasters the bell had rang which caught you off guard since you weren't keeping track of the time anymore.

♡

You accidentally bumped your head against his when trying to get up from your seat completely forgetting how close the two of you were. It was a gentle bump but still you muttered a soft apology.

♡

After putting your stuff away and grabbing your bag you and Colt decided to go to lunch together like usual but this time there was a twist.

♡

You had both agreed to sneak out in the back of the school so that you could go on your phones and retreat back into the school when it was time for lunch to end.

♡

Sneakily you both hid yourselves in the crowd full of kids in the hallway before making it to the back of the school.

♡

Once you were out you followed Colt to an area where cameras weren't visible to catch the both of you. Aka your secret hide out which wasn't a secret it was just a place away from the school.

♡

Despite trying not to get caught the two of you already knew the cameras inside the school had captured both of you but at least for now you just wanted to lay low so the teachers wouldn't find the two of you.

Walking around the deserted area you were in which was mainly an area with trees colt spoke up. "Oh shit wait a sec-" you stopped your movements and colt placed his bag on the ground. He knelt down to it and looked up at you.

♡

"Please do not tell anyone I have this, please." His tone was serious and he was looking at you very intensely. What could it be? "Um, okay... I promise I won't." You responded.

He thought for a few seconds before making up his mind and pulling a gun out. Your eyes widened you were almost a little bit excited by seeing it. "Woah. How did you get that?" You asked in amazement. He simply shrugged and smiled.

♡

"My dad." He didn't specify whether his dad gave it to him or if he stole it from his dad but either way you didn't really care. He had a gun and that was cool to you. He gave you it and you looked at it curiously.

It sure as hell was real and in a stupid sense of fascination you pointed it up to your face with your finger on the trigger. He pushed it away from you with a chuckle. "You don't wanna die just yet right?".

You simply laughed at his words and he took the gun from your hands and put it in his bag. Checking the time on his phone it was best you both headed back to the campus.

♡

The sun beamed down on both of you getting you both a little sweaty as you walked in the short grass. "So are you trying to shoot up the school or something?" You said jokingly. He laughed and scratched the back of his neck.

"No definitely not... its for protection."

How did you get started creating the script project? I think it would be fun to try to do something similar for deltarune, but I'm not sure how feasible it would actually be

the age old tale is "i was writing isat fanfiction and really wanted to get some dialogue exactly right, so i combed through 100% playthroughts on youtube to find the right spot and jotted down what i needed in a document except it got so fucking annoying i contemplated just making a website for it and then i got my grubby mits on both rpgmaker mv and the isat data files and it was all joever"

if it's the actual PROCESS. well. it was a bit of a mess. the first thing i did was make the website itself, hammering out a general layout using the sadgrl layout builder over a whole weekend and an increasingly yelling filled call with my sibling who actually knows how websites work.

you can take a look at this post where i answered what to look out for more in-depth.

i've only played ch1&2 but honestly? deltarune seems feasible. i've seen people datamine sprites from it, at least, it seems like the engine is pretty well documented.

so yah i first figured out i COULD do it, then i made the website + website layout for it (if you know how, you should also hammer out your individual page layout at this point and not wait for other people to show up and do it for you).

then i just took a crack at making a page except my process was fucking horrid, i didn't actually have all the data files nor a proper way to read them (didn't have rpgmaker mv back then, i just looked at the .json files and tried my best, which is why some weird half completed pages were floating around in the site's early days, like the tutorial one from back when). I got tired of this pretty quick and very legally aquired rpgmaker (i actually own it on steam now and i never talked about piracy in isatcord and you can prove nothing and because this ISN'T isatcord i can make blatant euphemisms.)

and at that point i just went at it making whatever scrappy pages interested me. it was a sorta trial-by-fire thing where i got more familiar with rpgmaker and isat in specific as i went along, instead of putting in the effort to figure out how shit works first, because i am just a very learn by doing kinda guy. and that's how it all went along till the legendary hero Gold showed up and taught me github and made everything better and prettier (before this i was pushing every minor change directly to neocities which was especially funny when i was tinkering w the layout so the site just updated twenty bajillion times that one weekend)

for deltarune you'd probably also be pretty chill splitting things by area, and maybe subdividing area stuff into normal/weird route as is the room pages with normal/act5 or something. the battle stuff looks interesting to do with all the act options.

so yeah refer to the linked post for general tips but again for deltarune you do probably have a good shot? just the general stuff, decide how you wanna host it early, make a test page to check out what a page should look like and how to format it, and everything else (like How The Hell Do I Portray Conditionals: the story of how the <details> tag saved us all), but the real obscure stuff is only gonna sneak up on ya when you're already many many pages deep and trying to figure out where one specific variable is increased because the rpgmaker search function SUCKS SO BAD. s192 my fucking nemesis.

Ok off topic but I feel the need to rant a little regarding the relationship between Ratio and Sunday. I’ve only seen a few people (including you) talk about this, so I felt like expressing my own opinion on the matter. I know (or at least, would like to believe) that people are mostly joking about Ratio hating Sunday, but I feel like people actually believe that he genuinely hates him when… it’s never felt that way to me. To me, Ratio was more so concerned about Sunday’s mental health, but simply worded it in a more direct/blunt way since that’s just how he is. Even during the 2.1 quest, I never got the feeling that Ratio hated him. Sure, he could have disliked Sunday a bit, but not to the point of feeling genuine hatred towards him. Didn’t Ratio even say that Sunday thought alike to Aventurine, who is someone that we know he’s concerned about? If he’s worried about Aventurine, and Ratio compares Sunday to him, then that kinda leads me to believe he has some concern for him too, but just in a somewhat less obvious way. Again, this is just my opinion though. As someone who loves/kins both Ratio and Sunday, it just kinda hurts to see this mischaracterization 😭

Six-Sentence Sunday

From the ongoing fic! This is a bit from the next chapter I will post (probably tomorrow).

“You didn’t respond to my message,” was Qui-Gon’s greeting to him when the door slid open.

Obi-Wan grinned despite himself, sudden and wide enough to make his jaw ache. “You clearly stated that my silence would serve as assent.”

Qui-Gon smiled back, and one of his hands landed on Obi-Wan’s shoulder, heavy and solid, a welcoming clasp that spoke more than any words ever would. It was a gesture that would not have looked out of place on any master and apprentice, but this one had come to be theirs; Obi-Wan had strained against more expressive displays of physical affection in his youth, and so the reassuring grasp of shoulder or arm had become their compromise, Qui-Gon’s expression of affection or concern or comfort in a way Obi-Wan was willing to accept.

It made him feel more loved than he could ever admit, though today he found himself also admitting – somewhere deeper than he could ever acknowledge aloud – that he would have welcomed a greeting embrace.

okay a personal pet peeve of mine is when people mark down their rating of a book because the book didn't end up being what they thought it would be from the blurb. that's a you problem, friend. that's a marketing problem. whether or not the book matches what you imagined it would be in your head before you read it has little to no bearing on if the book is good or not. rate it on that not on whether or not it matched what you pictured it would be when you picked it up.

'found family' is about friends being like or even just being family. it blurs the lines between friends and family. what it isnt is making the characters be family instead of friends, even if you dont actually involve nuclear family words
