Theory: Tsumugi lied about the personalities of the DRV3 characters being her creation and that they were a part of the Killing Game by choice.
Reasons: 1. Both Shuichi and Kaede remember being kidnapped in the prologue, BEFORE getting their first false memory. They don’t remember being kidnapped AFTER getting their first memory.
2. Shuichi, Kaede and Rantaro introduce themselves AS Shuichi, Kaede and Rantaro BEFORE getting their first memory, even though Tsumugi claims she has created their characters and even blurs out their names in the audition tapes.
3. Even though Tsumugi claims that they all have been big fans of the Danganronpa Series, no one recognizes Rantaro, an apparent participant of the previous game BEFORE getting their memories wiped.
4. Besides Kaede and Rantaro no one also seems to know anything about what’s going on beside Danganronpa being such a big thing in the outside world according to Tsumugi. (Rantaro knowing what ’16 students being trapped’ might mean, Kaede recognizing the Monocubs, but also sounding fearful and not happy how it was later portrait by Tsumugi.)
5. As far as we see the characters in the prologue before getting their false memories, they are exactly like they are later, after they get the wrong memories.
6. Tsumugi claims she isn’t able to cosplay real people because she gets cospox when she does it, she also claims that ‘Kaede Akematsu’ is a fictional character she’s created. Still, she gets cospox when she tries to cosplay Kaede which means it is either the opposite, that she can only cosplay real people or she lied completely about the cospox.
7. The floor in the audition tapes is the same as one of the stages in Tsumugis Cosplay Lab, hinting she had faked the videos and it was herself, cosplaying the characters to create the videos.
8. Keebo also might not be completely created by Team Danganronpa. If that would be the case, there is no reason for him to be in the prologue, BEFORE they get the false memories, in a different outfit, without the metal caps on his ears and also without the antenna. (Because there is no way he could hide THAT long antenna underneath a hat like that.)
9. Overall, there are hints that Keebo is not a Robot at all. He gets a backache in one of his Free Time Events, he didn’t had any robotic attachments in the prologue (like the antenna, the metal caps in his ears, the black lines on his face), he faints like everyone else when they open the door to the outside world, even though, as a Robot, he shouldn’t need any oxygen, he can sweat and blush (sprites), the flashback lights work on him, even though it doesn’t make sense to work on a machine. Which means he could’ve been a normal boy who was later transformed into a Cyborg by Team Danganronpa. (Yes, the hydraulic press safety function doesn’t work on him, but it was also never tested on anyone else besides Keebo, so there is no way telling it actually works at all.)
10. Tsumugi also claims that everything went that way because she wrote the script for it. But there is no way she planned Kokichi to plan a murder where Monokuma couldn’t know who the culprit was.
11. Some of the talents simply can’t be completely fake. It may be possible to make someone the Ultimate Anthropologist by adding false memories, because that talent is simply about knowledge, but even though your brain remembers how to fight, there is no way to be an actual Assassin or Aikido fighter when your body isn’t used to doing things like that. The same goes for talents like Ultimate Artist, Inventor or Pianist. It’s like writing with the opposite hand. Your brain might know what to do, but the handwriting still looks like shit.
12. Tsumugi claims that the Hope’s Peak Arc is just fiction, but also calls herself a ‘Cosplay Cat Criminal’ as a hint to the Copy Cat Criminal term, which is used for a criminal who copies the work of another, real criminal, in other words, Junko. (Apart from that, Shuichi hint’s at the end, that Hope’s Peak might actually have existed.)
13. Even though Tsumugi says that everyone is watching Danganronpa in the outside world, the viewers stop watching it pretty fast at the end, hinting that it might’ve been just some illegal underground event and only watched by some few people who, after that, might also realize it is wrong to cast such a show.

OK time for Dung Ruby chapter 1
The regulations. Anything unusual here compared to previous games?
Here’s the carrot! A successful blackened gets to leave.
The game ends with two people, not one? Huh.
Monokuma won’t ever directly commit a murder. Presumably punishments are not included. What about the Monokubs, though?
Violating a rule causes the Exisals to kill you. Right. No need for spears of Gungnir.
Chapter 1: Our Class Trial / My Class Trial
Yeah, Angie, I gotta wonder why Monokuma would need 2 survivors as well...are they meant to try and murder each other?
Shuichi thinks it’s cause you couldn’t do a trial with only two people, but...I don’t think that’s it.
Kaito are you trying to get yourself killed already?! He better not die right now.
Miu. TMI.
Gonta found a manhole in the grass outside. Hmmm.
Rantaro claims Kaede has what it takes to “win”. Win the killing game, or win against Monokuma?
Good thing Monokuma can’t directly kill someone...but can’t he just have the Monokubs do it?
Oh shit there’s hidden Monokumas in this game too? I just found one on a bench outside.
Oh, here’s the boiler room. The path was blocked off before. (There’s also a castle gate on the other side of the outside area. Weird.)
After some more innuendo from Miu, Keebo tried lifting the manhole, but no go.
After getting an intriguing morsel about Keebo’s past...ah, Gonta can lift it, can’t he?
Yup he can!
Let’s explore inside the manhole! I’m sure we’ll found a way we can’t use to get out!
There’s an open area below...with a monitor. And a sign that says “Exit”, which I definitely don’t trust.
There’s barrels of poison down here. I have a very bad feeling.
After re-assuring herself that everything will be fine, Kaede steps into the tunnel.
“You’re about to take on the Death Road of Despair”, says the narration. Yeah, I figured this was a trap.
Yeah I failed that one pretty quick.
And here’s Monokuma, probably here to tell us that we couldn’t have won even if I hadn’t kept messing up.
Yeah he knew we were here.
We get to try again...but...I doubt it’s actually possible to reach the exit in chapter 1.
I wonder if it is possible, though? I can’t do it, for sure, but who knows. Maybe there’s some alternate scene if you get to the exit?
Anyways we got no choice but to go to sleep for the night and try again tomorrow.
We’re gonna reconvene in the cafeteria at 8 AM tomorrow.
We finally get to go to our room! And Monokid is here to tell us about the room key.
And sleepy time.
Monokuma Theater? Monokuma Theater!
This sure ic a CG image right here.
And morning.
We can talk to Tsumigi and Shuichi before breakfast...Shuichi has something on his mind, but he won’t tell us what it is.
Everyone’s still alive. This morning, at least.
And Kokichi immediately stirs up trouble. Lovely.
Immediately upon Kaede starting to inspire the others to try again, Monokuma arrives to fuck everything up.
And the first motive is here!
The First Blood Perk...no class trial will be held for the first murder that occurs. I wonder if that means the first person to kill gets a free pass outside...or if it means that they get punished without a trial?
Huh, it’s “no strings attached”. I still find this hard to believe.
Yeah, Rantaro’s right...this is the prisoner’s dilemma.
Kaito has had enough. He’s gonna probably get himself killed off right away by attacking Monokuma, right? Idiot.
And sure enough, the Monokubs appear...no doubt their Exisals are right behind them. Kaito, you fool.
Run? Where’s he gonna run to? He’s fucked, Kaede, and there’s not much you can do about it. RIP, moon buddy.
The screen turned red and a smashing noise was heard. This isn’t gonna be pretty.
Wh-
Did the Exisal just crush Monokuma...?
What the fu...
Monophanie claims Monokuma has no spares...but I can’t imagine Monokuma is out of the picture this early in the game.
The Monokubs are claiming to be the new headmasters...did one of them betray Monokuma...?
Rantaro suspects that someone was controlling Monokuma...maybe, maybe not...
Yeah...how exactly would we even get out of here? The passage is deadly, the wall is impenetrable...
Back in our room...we start crying, and Shuichi arrives to ring our doorbell. Hmmm.
Shuichi knows something, and he wants us to go the library to discuss it?
I don’t think he’s gonna try and kill us or anything, but he definitely knows something. What?
Kirumi’s in the hallway, but she’s just waiting around.
Gonta’s still trying to figure out why the area has no bugs. Miu is making innuendos, and Kiyo mentions having a sister.
Kaito talks about how him being reckless ended up saving the day, and when he mentions that all the Ultimates need to do is escape, Shuichi gets all quiet.
Maki thinks we’re gonna try out the passageway again. Tsumugi is waiting for a shuttle bus to come so the Ultimates can leave.
Tenko is flirting with Himiko, who is not reciprocating. Rantaro’s just chilling, and he says that the idea of a mastermind behind Monokuma was just a hunch.
And here we are at the library.
Shuichi has a secret. There’s books all over the library, even on top of the bookcases, but he found one bookcase with no books at the top. That and the markings on the floor suggest a secret passageway. And sure enough, there’s a space behind the bookshelf, with a black and white door at the far end of it.
The door is locked and can only be opened via a card reader. But just the fact that the door exists is suspicious enough. It’s possible that someone else might know about the door...a traitor within the group. Kaede doesn’t believe it, and Shuichi doesn’t want to believe it. But as a precaution for if it IS true, Shuichi set a trap on the card reader. If the dust Shuichi stuffed inside the card reader is untouched, it’s not true. If the dust is scattered on the floor, someone must have used the card reader. And if there is a traitor...Monokuma’s destruction wouldn’t matter nearly as much. The game would go on.
Shuichi felt he needed to tell Kaede no matter what. He’s gonna die soon, I think. I’ve been thinking for quite a while that he’s gonna be the first victim, so.
We return to our rooms in time for an announcement: Monodam is alone on the Monokub couch, and he has this to say:
OK he doesn’t actually have anything to say.
Monokuma theater! Notably starring Monokuma, despite his supposed destruction.
Morning announcement time? Monodam once again appears alone and says jack shit.
After talking to Ryoma in the dorm hallway, we go outside. Kokichi is being a little shit as usual, Keebo is worrying that only Monokuma knew about the Academy and that no one is coming to rescue the Ultimates, and Angie still wants to make a blood offering to her god. Inside, Tenko is excercising, and Tsumugi is worrying about her nails. Wait, is this the scene that the nail brush unlocks?
Oh, we’re offering to give her the brush, so it must be!
Odd, the menu option for leaving a room popped up? Well, I don’t particularly want to leave, so I’ll say no. If it’s the wrong decision I can replay the chapter again later, right?
In the dining hall, everyone is happy, but the mood is ruined when Kaede mentions how everything felt too easy.
The mood is then absolutely fucking shattered by Monokuma re-appearing, surrounded by ghost wisps and carrying two guns and an ammo belt, and with his ear torn.. Yeah, there was no way he was staying dead.
Oh, he’s pretending to be a Japanese demon, a Yokai. “Jibakuma”. I haven’t played Yokai Watch but this is probably making fun of it.
Miu calls him a fraud and Tsumugi says he has a low level cosplay. This isn’t a Monokub dressed up as Monokuma, is it?
Kiyo just wants to know whether Monokuma mixed up ghosts and yokais. Monokuma takes off the costume to reveal his regular self underneath. Pfft.
The Monokubs seem just as surprised as anyone else that Monokuma is back. Hmmm.
Oh. Monokuma said there was only one of each Monokub. Monokuma himself has got plenty of spares around.
Monokuma is...licking the Monokubs. What.
Kirumi totally expected a spare Monokuma. Shuichi expected someone working with Monokuma to make the game continue. Rantaro didn’t think it would be this easy. Everyone else is freaking the fuck out.
Monokuma is not impressed by Kirumi expecting a spare. New motive time!
AH, here’s the stick. A time limit. Two days until someone dies, or until everyone dies.
And now people are panicking...Kokichi and Miu are both close to snapping and killing someone, for sure. Kiyo is absolutely fine with the killing game continuing...and so on and so forth. Everyone just ups and leaves.
Rantaro doesn’t just not trust the other Ultimates...but, guessing that his missing memory might be part of Monokuma’s plan, he doesn’t trust himself either. But...he does have one memory that he brings up. The term “Ultimate Hunt”. The term from the first part of the prologue...he doesn’t remember where he’s heard the term before, though.
Shuichi has his own thoughts on the matter of the killing game. In the morning, before meeting up with everyone, he went to the library, and found that someone had used the card reader. To the library we go...
The Monokubs mentioned a machine that could make spare Monokumas, but...wasn’t that just speculation on their part?
Oh boy. Everyone forced to participate will die in 2 days. Which means if someone is voluntarily working with Monokuma...they won’t be killed along with everyone else. This traitor might not just be a traitor, but the mastermind themselves.
So...Shuichi and Kaede plan to wait in the library at the end of the 2 days, and catch the mastermind in the act of entering the room. Assuming that by that time, no one is already dead...I suspect that’s where the fatal flaw is.
but for now, Free Time!
I’m gonna hang out with Shuichi, and then if there’s more free time, someone else.
Next time...to the school store, to get presents for free time!
