The steering wheel of his kart is covered in bite marks, similar to how one would bite their favorite pencil. he bites things to mark his territory because Nobody is gonna touch that unless they want all of his diseases (150+).

adding onto that point, this guy listens to metal clanking sounds and loud engine roaring for entertainment because he likes things that would overstimulate any normal person. turbo is incredibly sensory-seeking and will do anything for The Sensations

someone should take him to a heavy rock concert i think it would change him a little. keep that thang on a leash

related to being sensory-seeking, i think he would absolutely love running his hands over random textures. if anyone has run their hands along a wall while walking alongside it...He does that...If u know u know... he is SO stimmy its unbelievable. Unreal.

very pain-tolerant. he'll whine and complain about it for attention, but physical hurt really doesnt bother him much until it gets in the way of what he wants to do.

funnily enough, he is very picky when it comes to temperature. he can handle getting ran over but if its 1° too hot or cold he'll start nagging and nagging for it to go back to normal. turbo really needs his own enclosure i think it'd do him a lot of good

this is a more popular headcanon and its canon-leaning, but he's an artist :-] he usually sticks to graffiti art because its generally considered more "rebellious and cool" but he also sketches cars, design decals, and other stuff when hes alone!

i just noticed how his design has like 0 actual candy motifs aside from his bow being a candy wrapper and his shoes having those little gumdrop end pieces. what was he THINKING

while King Candy has a lisp, i think it's a coverup for his actual voice because of how goofy and recognizable it is. Overall its the same as his regular voice, he just gets silly with it. i noticed that he still does retain some of his lisp when hes screaming his lungs out at Vanellope, however, so maybe he genuinely does have a lisp that makes itself known when furious :3

another thing i noticed is how he hisses his S's. very cool very cool the reptilian

i think he gets migraines from stress. constant buzzing or pain flood his head but hes like "IDGAF i need to DO something at ALL TIMES no matter what"

hes like a shark in that way. if hes not moving he'll die instantly. idk a lot about sharks or if thats how it works srry but im going off of what the Worms are saying to me and i dont have much to work with

i dont think turbo is necessarily suicidal, but the way he behaves shows a clear disregard for his own safety and wellbeing. he thinks that he knows what he needs but he really doesnt :-[ i think he has some kind of immortality complex, feeling untouchable and like nothing could get to him. as scared as he was when ralph was about to turn him into sloppy mush, he didnt take the threat very seriously. like it was some kind of joke

his kart regenerates every time his game starts up, so what if he smashed it into buildings for fun. He's the number one fan of car accidents. he is all about that shit

i think his living space would literally be a garage btw. its a place to sleep and a space for his car all in one!! he thinks its very convenient and awesome but i think he is coping. he has some old dingy stained sheetless mattress that he has never washed in his life and its covered in dirt and smoke particles. no wonder he has such heavy eye bags Dude Please

the turbo twins have a garage used in a similar way, and while its still pretty shitty, they still at least TRY to maintain it. they just fight a lot over who has to care of it. nobody taught them how to take turns ever

i think that turbo would find comfort in garbage and keeping it around because its familiar to him. a big clean empty space would make him so mad and if anyone moves even an inch of scrap off to the side he will throw a fit. he generally doesnt pay attention to his surroundings but when its his personal space he is 1093 times more neurotic

i think the big empty castle he stole wouldve been a big transition for him. maybe it helped him clear his mind a little more to practice his tricky schemes...it helped him get more subtle

okay so right . before i get into my Personal hcs i feel like i should explain why he is literally so fucking autistic to the point that despite being a oneoff chara he to this day is one of my strongest supported autistic hcs . because i could go into like Depth and pick apart a bunch of tiny little details but literally if i just in very broad strokes describe him as "a guy with an extremely narrow interest that he zeroes in on and impulsively buys tons of things out of excitement for it and who is infantilized by his mother despite being a grown adult and whose 'best friend' in fact seems to deeply resent him a fact he is entirely clueless of because of his inability to read the very obvious social cues" and ull be MORE than convinced so why would i bother

speaking of which he has a special interest on ancient torture devices which is like two steps away from canon anyway <3 his show is one massive excuse to infodump on the subject . pov youre about to get your head chopped off and you just want to get it over with but unfortunately your would-be murderer is giddily explaining the history of the guillotine

i think hes like . he has this weird masking thing that he cant stop doing where he basically CONSTANTLY even when hes not on camera acts like hes acting like hes constantly flourishing and performing for a camera and an audience and shit . its part of why people tend to find him kind of obnoxious because hes CONSTANTLY doing his stage persona bc thats just how he masks and gets thru social interaction while still seeming charismatic and he doesnt really know how to switch it off totally

he like . he masks a lot to hide Social Awkwardness which hes pretty good at but hes very very bad at masking his emotions if hes uspet hes UPSET . especially with sensory issues if you ruffle his hair when hes not expecting it he gets VERY FLAILY and makes a lot of dismayed noises he cant really regulate his reactions to stuff at all . im crazy about cecil and junos weird half-friendship so i think he Knows cecils ways of reacting to stuff and like just out of habit he immediately course corrects whenever cecil makes one of his little agh argh rhghrhg noises that means hes overwhelmed and trying Very Badly to mask it . dont let anyone kno tho they cant know juno (ugh) Doesnt Want Cecil To Be Upset or whatever

Currently watching: Ahsoka, of course! I have never simultaneously dreaded and eagerly anticipated any piece of media to the degree I've been losing it waiting for this show. I'm so invested, unwell, unhinged, I've waited so long for this story to continue and I've been so confident they would fuck it up. While I do have many fundamental misgivings and conflicting feelings about it, I am enjoying it a lot so far. It won't live up to my hopes and dreams by a long shot but its honestly much better than I feared it would be. So far.

Next on watchlist: ugh idk. Probably will just watch rebels AGAIN after Ahsoka. My watchlist is very long and nothing on it is currently catching my eye. But maybe I'll FINALLY watch the Owl House next.

3. How do each of you express affection? 

Wrathion does grandiose gestures like gifting high quality things such as rare and beautiful crystals, the fancy expensive wine that comes in bottles not shaped like bottles, fresh crab (I go absolutely nuts for crab IRL that stuff is so delicious but expensive), and does love hugs, we always give him hugs when we leave somewhere, . Kalec likes saying compliments or simply stating observations he makes about us, He also sends mirror images when he's busy for surprise "I love you"s and smooches when we least expect it. I do random combos of words, things i make, things i find, and sooooo many cuddles. So many, cuddles and hugs and smooches.

4. Are there different dynamics in your ship? If so, what are they?

Ok so me and Kalec are an autism to autism romance like. WALL-E and EVA during that scene where EVA scans for a plant and WALL-E just shyly scuttles around following them and gets buried in shopping carts and then WALL-E shows them their human stuff. When they give EVA the rubix-cube and turn around to grab the lightbulb and return to it solved and go "Woah!" and hand them the bulb to look at it and the bulb glows in EVA'S hand and then they both go "woah" and mess with it? That exact scene is so us. So many cool and beautiful things in the world to understand.. I can't use magic very well if at all and am at a lot of disadvantages with arcane stuff and Kalec will cast a spell for me so I can see what it's supposed to look like and I can try to copy it. I sometimes go extra slow to see him do it again just to see him in the light of his spells..

Kalec and Wrathy are opposites but also the same in a way..? They both deeply care about keeping the world safe and rising above their predecessors shadows to pave a better path for their kind, they both see mortals as equals unlike most dragons and enjoy living among them. They are so balanced together it's amazing, they bring out the best in each other and have such a deep understanding of what the other has been though and what they want and their fears and to try and put it into a sentence: They're like 2 sides of the same coin.

Me and Wrathy are more of a fiery/ sassy but also sad duo and both tend to dig our claws into the other 2 sometimes because we're so afraid to lose them so we are very clingy and easily stressed. We understand what it's like to be considered an abomination of nature to the world and "lesser" than others, so we make sure to show the other we love them constantly which does sometimes turn into annoying PDA that Wrathion does love because he likes showing me off like “Look at how sweet and pretty my girlfriend is, this is mine and our boyfriend’s and you can’t have any! You missed out!” And I’m just thinking “OUGHHHHOHOHO WHEEEE I PULLED HIM!! wait we’re in the middle of the market”

8. Is there any clothing sharing? Does one partner “steal” clothes from the others?

OK so firstly I think visage clothes are like. magic so you can take them off and away from the dragon and they can just magic it back if they lost it or just make a new one like *poof* and its the exact same. BUT to answer the question that would be me 90% of the time ｀(^ᴗ^)´. I'll steal their overcoats and wear them on me as robes with the sleeves rolled up or like cloaks around my neck or waist since they're both bigger than me tho Kalec is quite a bit bigger. I'll steal Wrathion's earrings, gloves, his necklace on a few occasions, and I'll steal Kalecs belt bc that thing looks like a giant marble and i just know it's got some great stimmy texture and sounds. They usually only steal my scrunchies and wear them as bracelets or use them to tie their hair up and it makes me go (｡♡ʊ♡｡)

Autistic at work - office edition

If you are an autistic or otherwise neurodivergent person with a job - that’s awesome because sadly we are still a minority. In and around academia, I’ve been lucky so far when it came to my employment situations. My offices were always a bit non-traditional, quiet spaces for quirky people, hardly anything to complain about (except my weirdo boss who kept turning on my lights when I just wanted to be a cave goblin). But in my current job - which I really do like btw - I now spend 10h a week at my first real “normal office”. I’ve noticed* that it’s a bit harder for me to be productive and feel comfortable here, so I made a list (because of course I did) of what helps and what bothers me. Maybe some things that are totally normal for NTs in an office space will bother you and require adjustments to make your work experience better, so go ahead and add your own.

Pros:

Interesting work that keeps me engaged and lets me tell kids about cool science.

Good mix of playing to my strengths and learning new skills.

Option to do 50% home office, so I can work from my couch half the time - epic!

Nice, helpful colleagues (giant nerds, too).

No dress code, comfy all the way!

Clear communication of expectations.

Quite flexible time management.

Pretty campus, lots of green, even a pond with cute ducks.

They know I’m autistic and seem ok with it (even let me give a talk about it).

Cons:

Desk sharing. The horror. Not having my own little nest with my personal stuff keeps me from feeling truly settled in.

Nobody ever told me how to work the printer, microwave, coffee machine… felt very lost for a while.

Being asked to change plans on short notice - nope, no thank you.

The sun is horribly bright in the afternoon, I still don’t know how the blinds work.

The AC keeps turning on and off. The sound fries my brain.

Colleague will not put her phone on silent.

Same colleague keeps asking me to have lunch with her. Often I really don’t want to break my flow. Today I had late lunch outside with the ducks.

When I listen to music (to drown out said colleague, phone, and AC), I can’t do my little stimmy dance in its full glory - well I could, but I’m shy.

In summary - the most prevalent issues for me are sensory (sounds, lights) and the need to actively ask for instructions… sure, I can push through, but I’d much rather spend my energy on doing my actual work and not risk burning out. If you are an employer looking to make neurodivergent employees feel more comfortable - which is great! - please keep these things in mind, and maybe consult these handy resources. We bring so much talent, ambition and dedication to the workplace, and a few small accommodations can make all the difference.

*I've actually been working there for months, but only now has my "this is new and bad" paralysis eased enough to pick out what I actually like and struggle with. Employers - please give us time to figure out and adjust our needs, thx.

🍷: What's one of your OC's pet peeves concerning food?

Tapping into The Autisme here and I'm keeping half an ear out for any groans of agreement from fellow NDs: Rhodri doesn't care for unexpected change when it comes to food. I wouldn't exactly call her a fussy eater (went the Wish Fulfilment path and gave her a varied palate),

BUT!

The meals have to be what they were scheduled to be, especially if she's hungry or was looking forward to it. Especially breakfast and lunch, which tend to be the basic supplies that you can get anywhere in Ferelden. Scheduled change is great and Rhod looks forward to it a lot, because she does love variety, but a heads-up is needed. If she doesn't get it, then at a minimum, she'll skip the meal or struggle through it, or it'll be the tipping point for a meltdown and she'll have to go and sleep it off. Unscheduled, abrupt change is the devil and she won't be convinced otherwise.

Except for surprise peanuts. There's always room for surprise peanuts.

🍆: Does your OC have any favourite form of affection, physical or otherwise?

Ohmmm is this for giving or receiving? Guess I'll do both?! :D :D Just to be safe, of course!

For giving, I'd say her favourite is whichever gets the message across the best. At the end of the day, what counts is that they know she cares. And, on a more selfish note, she really feeds off the recipient's reaction, and won't get any satisfaction out of doing something that doesn't mean much to them.

That said, her first thought is usually to do something to make their life better/easier (because it's practical and will help, even if it doesn't feel like it).

As for receiving, Rhodri's a snuggle bug. Big snug energy. Down To Snug. Arms and/or legs around her and she's putty in your hands. She also gets... incredibly stimmy? Kissing, kneading, and rubbing skin are all bliss on a stick for her, so the snug-ee letting her go to town and squish them to bits is Happiness. It's going well if she makes contented rumbles from time to time; very well if she starts mumbling embarrassing heartfelt shit, and if she falls asleep in the process, that's a perfect score.

Hah, ok, I originally had a ridiculously long essay that basically detailed the cultivation of traits Rhodri got from her relatives. It tended to segue and snare a whole lot of information from familial headcanons and childrearing principles and good GOD it was off-topic too often. I’ll make that a post on its own and if you’re happy to be notified when it’s up, I’ll tag ya :D For now, though, perhaps I’ll just keep it on topic and expound on it in the other post.

Physically and emotionally, Rhodri is much more like her father, Aurelio. Physical traits shared with Aurelio: Sharp, angular face; pointed grecian nose; very prominent cupid’s bow in the upper lip; very arched eyebrows; eye colour. Wide grin with large teeth and prominent canines. Lean, muscular build. Tl;dr: resting bitch face, buff. Psychological traits shared with Aurelio: devoted; authoritative; self-denying; gregarious; polite; generous; physically affectionate; crushing fear of abusing power and/or hurting others; laughs shamelessly at own jokes; embarrassingly heartfelt; loves children.

That’s not to say her mother, Revka, didn’t get a look-in, but Rhodri spent much more formative time with Aurelio.

Physical traits shared with Revka: disproportionately long limbs, fingers, and toes (doesn’t have Marfan syndrome though!); complexion; hair colour and texture. Psychological traits shared with Revka: droll, deadpan sense of humour; carefree to the point of flippancy at times; outspoken; patient; loves predictability; ‘You can’t scare me! I have kids (Revka)/ I’m a teacher (Rhodri), and I’ve seen it all!’; practical to the point of clinical-ness at times.

Traits she gets from both of ‘em: Loves the beach; intensely protective; loves to read; their curiosity is oppressive; proud; gets obsessively interested with things; strong dislike of lies; makes peanuts disappear in record time.

🍉: Does your OC have a particular piece of jewellery that they always wear or refuse to part with?

Two, in fact! I’ll start this with my headcanon, which is that among the Tevinter Altus, the Magisterial line (i.e. former, present, and heir Magisters in a family) handles decisions for their house. That can be anything from large purchases to marriage proposals– so a very oppressive existence if you don’t have a nice Magister running the show in your own house.

It’s set in stone to the point that someone approaching any other family member on such matters is considered an attempt to sabotage the house and is handled quite violently. To avoid fuck-ups, the Magisterial line demarcates themselves with snake designs of some kind (harkens back to the mythology of snakes symbolising guardianship and protection).

How the snakes are displayed is up to the wearer; some go for earrings, others wear snake designs on their clothes. Every Magister/heir has their own snake amulet, though, which they use as their own personal seal/signature on official documents. Super tightly regulated and given as soon as the person is designated an heir, which can happen at any age. They can design it themselves but it’s often considered an act of affection for the appointer to design it for them, so there can be a lot of hurt if someone wants to change a gifted design later.

Rhodri’s had a snake amulet since she was almost two, and a wraparound snake cuff earring she got at about 4-5.

The eyes of the earring snake are encrusted with grey sapphires to match the colour of Rhodri’s own eyes. The metal is black rhodium (Rhodri’s mother insisted that the similarity in names was too good to ignore and Aurelio is inclined to let his wife have her way). No real story to it; the parents both thought a cuff earring was cool, and Rhodri was willing to keep it on all the time.

The amulet is made of a hardy, heat-resistant gold alloy. It depicts– in relief– a snake lying in a circle around two sleeping infants. The infants are resting their heads on the snake’s body (a health and safety violation for so many reasons, but we will accept for the purposes of fantasy that this is both endearing and a Wise Idea). The design came to Aurelio after watching the 1 ½ year-old Rhodri spend the months after her twin siblings’ birth insistently glued to their side, often spending hours a day lying behind them and stroking their hair. This period convinced him she had the devotion he believed necessary to run a household fairly, and he appointed her as his heir shortly before her second birthday as a result. I dunno, the guy was probably soaking in baby fever hormones at that point; usually they wait a good few years longer than that.

48) What is your character's reaction when someone does something nice for them?

Maddie- Madelyn is genuinely softened by someone doing something nice for them. At first shes a little suspicious if its someone she doesnt know but she will accept it. Her medical background gives her more of an insite onto what things are safe or not. She is naturally protective. But if its a friend she will just smile and repay the niceness back to her friends as soon as possible. If its a stranger or a friend of her brother that she doesnt really vibe with. she will just sigh at them and accept it but then go to her friends and be like "what the fuck-?" mostly cuz she sucks at social cues. [she/her pronouns for maddie]

Cora- Shes more cautious at people being nice to her but after a while she gets used to it and they accept it and are just "okay...nice...but why?" When someone is super nice to her she just hugs whoever it is. They will cling to people they are super nice to them mostly cuz cora is just "are we friends?" [they/she/storm pronouns for cora]

Cait- Caitlin is seven so she reacts to how any other people are nice to her. This can very much lead the genuis level child. She is very extroverted and likes to make friends so she is the one to be nice to people before and when people are nice back she is just "yay friem!" [she/her pronouns for cait]

Avery- They just shrug and accept it and sure theyre kind back but avery isnt really big on feeling the emotions and connections back to people. Mostly because of the heist and just go along with things. So yeah, Avery just nods and gives people a thumbs up and then sticks to them like glue. they are less the steryotypical version of be nice and more the kinda nice quiet kid who would help you pass notes to your friends. Solstice- They are the captain of the invinsible two and thus they are used to people being kind and nice to them [as well as people being complete dicks depending on the timeline] but para is used to it and will continously try to be nice back to those that are nice to fire. Meredith: Oh meri, the sweetheart. She is so overly excited and happy that someone is nice to her because she is happy and just if sunshine was a person. Maddie- Shes not one to cry but if shes tired she will be very hyper emotional. She was more likely to cry before going through an abusive relationship. she is more likely to be annoyed by little things but more playfully annoying. However she cannot stand traffic. Madelyn will only be angry if she feels hurt or scared. so

Cora- Storm is less likely to cry around people unless she really trusts them. She is however more likely to get annoying or angry by simple things especially if shes not good at stuff. But that is RSD. They also get annoyed by repetive sounds and stuff like that.

Cait- again she is a child. so she is more likely to get fustrated and cry more easily. However she wont get genuinely angry at anybody- just angry at herself and perplexed.

Avery- Again he doesnt really vibe with emotions but will cry if the dog dies in a movie. Pretty much done with everyones shit. Got very fustrated with heist mark and ended up wanting to sock him in the face. Very quick to get protectively angry around other trans/queer people if they get deadnamed. Can make anything into a knife so ya know.

Solstice- Rather quick for fustration and quick to use fires fists to talk instead of paras words but paradox is really just trying. skip is however very emotional and will cry if someone talks to them in a soft tone. totally cried at the "captain im tired" scene.

Eliza- exists on anger and fustration and annoyance with the world and everyone in it. very much the "I hate everyone to varing degrees." got into a buncha fights as a kid/teen and even a young adult because she was never shown love and has now turned her back on the world that hurt her so. Isnt really one to cry until the emotions build up and explode.

Meredith- Will cry if someone raises their voice to them. Literally just the sweetest bean and will cry at anything. she sees someone cry and then her waterworks start. Not really one to get angry or annoyed. More overstimulated and get fustrated at herself for feeling bad emotions. They feel like they have to be happy all the time and they are despite a few bad days when their anxiety wins and she just hides in bed all day because she cant face the world adn thats when her self loathing and anger towards themselves go.

since i was just talking about it SOREN IS A BIG ONE . theres just no other explanation . i think hes had a special interest in the dark arts for a really long time but that interest has Shifted over time although necromancy has always been a focus . hence why hes also got books about demonology and whatnot (: i think he gets very VERY easily hyperfocused like if hes zeroed into something its zeroed IN you cant distract him from it especially if its related to necromancy . he also gets dysregulate really easy i think he struggles to control his emotions and his physical expressions of emotion quite a bot hes decinitely the kind of autistic that expresses too MUCH as opposed to too little . also his relationship to his gender is heavily influenced by his autism so he uses lots of xenos we kno this !!!!

i imagine sam nook is pretty short so punz would make sure no one was watching and kneel down on the ground so they're at the same height

no, while i dont think sam nook finds gender to be very important, he considers himself a man (but he uses he/it pronouns)

i dont think punz spends a lot of time in the higher floors so he likes keeping his whole base area nice so theres a good view from lower windows. when he does go to the top he like how far he can see and how many important landmarks he has a view of

i think he likes clicking buttons a normal amount but his favorite stimmy thing to do is chew on things bc he can do that while his hands are occupied
