They lived in two entirely separate worlds.

Do you think Shu Han dissecting Grishi is inspired by unit 731? I know she said Grisha are based on Jewish people, and it would make sense thematically for medical horrors to be done to Grishi. But to make the evil scientists specifically East Asian given how infamous unit 731 is-idk if it's a reach but the vibes are off. I don't think I need to explain how bad it is if LB really did stick a RL atrocity done by the imperial Japanese government(who was allied to Nazi Germany) to Chinese and Russian citizens to her China-inspired country
I wanted to say no, and point out LB's lack of research on anything, but auntie wiki says:
Unit 731 was responsible for some of the most notorious war crimes committed by the Japanese armed forces. It routinely conducted tests on people who were dehumanized and internally referred to as "logs". Experiments included disease injections, controlled dehydration, biological weapons testing, vivisection, amputation, and standard weapons testing. Victims included not only kidnapped men, women (including pregnant women) and children, but also babies born from the systemic rape perpetrated by the staff inside the compound. The victims came from different nationalities, with the majority being Chinese and a significant minority being Russian. Additionally, Unit 731 produced biological weapons that were used in areas of China not occupied by Japanese forces, which included Chinese cities and towns, water sources, and fields. Estimates of those killed by Unit 731 and its related programs range up to half a million people, and none of the inmates survived.
... and yes, that looks like exactly the kind of thing she would use with utter lack of understanding or sensitivity of approach.
I've always thought she split up German Nazi methods between Shu and Fjerdans. One gaining Mengele, the other mostly systematic extermination. After both duologies we know Fjerdans like cutting and biochemistry too, perhaps even more than Shu. I'm not sure if Japanese experiments were its inspiration, but impregnating Grisha, while getting them addicted to enhancing drug would fit the description above.

Saw a post about the stages of grief about chronic illness and i just wanna remind anyone who might read this that the stages of grief aren't exactly Linear. You will experience denial and anger and depression as many times as you need to in as many ways as you need to. It doesn't mean that you aren't getting closer to acceptance or that you aren't healing, it's just part of the process. Even more so if you're part of a system - everyone will come to terms with things at their own pace and you'll all get there eventually.

Do you like the character of Nesta? From the Acotar saga? There is a lot of debate surrounding this character. A lot of Feyre fans there hate it. Personally, I like Nesta and she is my second favorite character after Rhysand. Besides, in general, what do you think of the Acotar saga in its characters and its universe?
No.
I've only started the fourth book and there's exactly zero reason for me to like her, but enough to dislike her. She's arrogant, lazy, unpleasant to anyone but Elain and the way she treated Feyre's inexcusable. Also taking credit for King of Hybern's death did not help me change my opinion.
The books aren't bad, but I don't like the world and I don't have a single favourite character to stay for. I do intend to come back to share my notes on previous books at some point, but it's not my priority.

If you use arab.org like I do please consider taking the extra 30-60 seconds to click on ALL of their causes. Palestine is important but so are the environment, refugees, children, women, and the impoverished across the middle east and it doesn't take away from Palestine to click for multiple causes. The arab world faces a lot of problems and they only get worsened by how western nations have oppressed and attacked them. Clicking is small but it generates something and overtime it does benefit the greater good. It takes all of us clicking as often as possible but we can do it! It's really easy and safe and they have proofs on their site on how they do make an impact and are donating your click money

it's entirely his own fault. pretty boys with soft hands from the capitol shouldn't be good with them. she's fairly certain this breaks some kind of stupid rule about "mentors" and victors - but she can't be bothered to care. she's got knees rested at either of his hips, hair making curtain between them while she sucks in harsh breath through her nose. lips quirk upward into grin as she glides deft fingers into the hair at the nape of his neck at the words, chest heaving with her breaths. “ if i had a dime for every time i've heard that, handsome . . . ” she teases while she leans forward to press her lips to corner of his mouth. “ don't stop. ” she breathes, shifting her weight in his lap while her free hand grasps his wrist to keep it in place between her knees so he doesn't stop touching her.
