pairing: mortal leo valdez x fem!reader genre: fluff content/warnings: couldn't help but add some greek references lol, readers in denial, hoo friend group, dramatic love confession of course summary: you and leo end up as best friends after a chance collision, but soon it looks like it might be more a/n: I'm so excited to write the part 2 for this. should probably be out next thursday!

I tossed my empty cup into a trash can as I passed, trying to shuffle through the mass of papers and folders stacked in my arms one-handed. At this point I was only half convinced I'd finished that paper, and if I didn't find it before I got Mr. Whitman's class, I was as good as dead.

Just as I thought I saw the header of the essay I had been searching for, I collided with something hard, and all my papers flew out of my arms, littering the sidewalk.

"Shit, I'm so sorry," the guy hurried out, immediately ducking down to collect my mess. All I could see of him from this angle was a mess of black curls, and the back of a beat up Carhartt jacket.

"No, no, that was on me. I wasn't looking where I was going." I grabbed as many of the papers as I could, attempting to put them back in a neat stack. "I was trying to find an essay."

"This one?" he asked, looking up. I was met with warm chocolate brown eyes, leaving me stunned for a moment. He had picked up a thin stack that had been stapled together at the corner, holding it at an awkward angle to read the title. "The Self: Human Nature or All in Our Heads?"

"Yep. That's the one." I had gathered myself enough to answer with a shy smile.

"Psychology?" he continued with a mischievous looking grin, handing over the last few rogue papers.

"Second year."

"Me too!" he said enthusiastically. "I mean—second year, not psych. I'm mechanical engineering."

"That's my roommates major! She loves it, but I've never been able to follow it much."

"It's not too hard once you get the hang of it. I'm Leo, by the way."

"It's nice to meet you! I'd shake your hand, but I'd probably drop all this again."

"We wouldn't want that," he laughed.

Just as I was about to make another comment, I caught a glance of his watch. "Shit. I'm gonna be late. It was lovely to talk to you, hope to see you around," I called over my shoulder as I hurried off to my class.

"That's the second time today!" Percy yelled, hopping up from his seat, the front of his shirt and pants soaked. "Why can't this shit be waterproof or something?"

"Sorry, man," Leo apologized, though his teasing tone and proud smile suggested otherwise.

As soon as Percy was out of the dorm room, hurrying off to change, Jason turned to his friend. "You've got to stop doing that," he laughed. "I think he's almost at the breaking point."

Leo shrugged, turning his attention back to me. I was laid in his bed on my stomach as he sat on the floor, resting his chin on the edge of the mattress.

"What was I saying?" he asked, his nose scrunching adorably.

"Those... Sphere thingies."

"Right!" he said, his eyes lighting up. "Archimedes' spheres. We were talking about them in class today. I mean, he had some crazy ideas, but these things were just wild. They're way too complicated. Those things would never work. They don't even know what half of them are supposed to do."

"He sounds rather ambitious. Like someone else I know," I responded, gently tapping the end of his nose. He scrunched it again at my actions, making me what to repeat my actions a thousand times over.

What the hell are you doing? Snap out of it.

I pulled my hand back to my side as he went on, rambling about the impossibility of the inventions. We were only a few inches away from each other, his chin on the edge of the bed and mine resting on the back of my palm, but neither of us seemed to notice the proximity.

How the hell I ended up in this position, I couldn't really tell you. It was probably Percy's stupid idea to come to this stupid party.

Leo was across the room, talking to some girl, and for some reason I couldn't pinpoint, I was pissed about it. Part of myself was saying he's just talking to some girl, what's the big deal? But another—much louder—part of me wanted to scream at how close they were, talking maybe a few inches apart at most, and neither had looked up for six minutes and fifty-two seconds. Not that I was counting. What has gotten into me?

I eventually tore my eyes away from them, afraid I'd make myself sick if I stared at them any longer. Set on searching out Annabeth, I took off into the crowd, eventually finding her in the kitchen, tucked under Percy's arm.

"I'm gonna head out."

Her expression immediately turned to worry as she saw my own. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?" I answered, though my words came out sharp and uncomfortable, clearly not convincing either of us.

"I'll go with you."

"No, really. Percy's way too drunk to be left with the boys." My excuse was true, he was slurring aggressively, telling an overly exaggerated story.

"Jason isn't drinking, he'll be fine."

"Really," I tried again, practically pleading. I was more eager than ever now to get out of there, my skin heating to an unbearable temperature in the time I'd been standing there.

She hesitated, studying me. "Fine. But text me as soon as your back in the dorm. Kay?"

"Mhm," I nodded, immediately ducking towards the door. I was eager for the fresh air, but as soon as I pushed my way outside I was pelted with thick, cold rain drops. Great.

I tried to ignore my shivering, tugging off my heels to avoid slipping. I was halfway home when my phone started ringing, playing the custom ringtone Leo had insisted I used for his contact. I hurriedly ignored it, fumbling with my heels and the slippery screen, but just as soon as I had put my phone away, it was blaring again.

"For fuck's sake!" I yelled, scrambling to clear it again.

'Where are you?' his text read. 'Are you okay?' 'Answer me please.'

"Give it up," I muttered angrily, shoving my phone into my bag. I had just made it to my building when an all too familiar voice came from somewhere behind me through the heavy patter of rain.

"Thank God! Are you okay?"

"Would everyone stop asking that?" I snapped, spinning around to face him. Leo was climbing out of his cherry red Cadillac he'd fixed up, hurrying over to me.

"I thought something had happened to you? Why didn't you answer my calls or texts?" His eyes quickly scanned over me, taking in the thin dress sticking to my skin, heels in one hands, and arms wrapped tightly around myself as I shivered violently. "You're shaking. Take my jacket," he started, shrugging off his coat.

I brushed him off, ignoring his attempts. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"What? I'm making sure you're okay. You shouldn't be walking home by yourself at two in the morning. Please, take the jacket."

"No."

"Are you mad at me or something?"

"Yes! No... I–I don't know! Can you just leave me alone?" I angrily pleaded. His expression was somewhere between confused and hurt, the arm holding his jacket now hanging by his side. "Shouldn't you be off with some little blonde?"

That comment struck a chord, only deepening his confusion. "No?" he said, almost as more of a question. "Are you mad about me talking to a girl?"

"I don't want to talk about this!" I yelled back, desperately wanting to get out of the heavy rain. I could practically feel the cold in my bones, and my clothes were clinging to me uncomfortably.

"I do," he pouted, looking like a kicked puppy. His curls were matted down on his forehead, his grease-stained t-shirt sticking to his skin, and his jacket hanging limping at his side, not bothering to put it back on.

"What is there to talk about? I'm soaking wet, cold, and tired, I don't want to talk about some skank at a frat party!"

"Are you jealous or something?" He had begun to raise his voice, from a mix of the loud rain and aggravation.

"Maybe I am!" I yelled in response. "Is that what you want to hear?"

"Yes," he answered, not skipping a beat.

I was too stunned to answer him, the anger suddenly leaving me. The image of us yelling at each other in the rain about something so simple suddenly seemed absurd, and I was frantically trying to figure out how we had ended up here. I was just beginning to realize I may feel something different for my best friend, and here he was saying he might feel the same.

He stared at me for what felt like forever, until I managed to croak out a barely audible, "What?"

"I like you. Hell, if we're being honest, I think I'm in love with you."

His big brown eyes watched me with no expectation, just observing. I realized he wasn't waiting for me to say it back, or even acknowledge it, he was just... watching me process.

Before I knew what I was doing I had thrown my heels to the ground, launching myself at him. I pressed my lips against his as I threaded my fingers through his soaked curls. Leo's hands instinctively found my waist, tugging me closer.

His teeth tugged my bottom lip, nipping me before his tongue darted out to lick across the area in a soothing manner. I tugged his hair at the action, silently praising him.

I pulled away breathlessly, trying to get even closer to him. "You're so warm," I muttered against his lips. My shivering had decreased significantly since he'd wrapped his arms around me.

"Let's get you inside." My only option for a response was a mindless nod, before returning to his lips.

#no literally like. why not just have it take place somewhere else. if you’re going to take all the steam out of the anger #and the desperation and the settling grief like #vex hunched over percy’s body . scanlan asking her to join the rest of them and she refuses to leave percy’s side (now. when it’s too late) #scanlan fucking. carving a crest into her forehead. keyleth weeping . #and like obviously they can’t do everything. i don’t expect them to #but even if they do have a group kill ‘this is for percy’ moment with ripley later it’s like. the energy is gone #part of what is so like. horrible and compelling about that moment is like. their grief is still being processed in its immediacy #and it is complete Vengeance that they are wreaking on ripley in percy’s name #not retribution because that would just be a shot between the eyes. #but like percy wanted for his family. every member of vm wants their pound of flesh #and that simply Cannot hit the same or similarly if they’ve buried him and sat by his coffin and slayed a dragon while saying ‘for percy’

Part of what makes that moment so compelling and enduring is that Vox Machina is enacting the very vengeance Percy explicitly let go of during that fight by forgiving her. They're turning all of Ripley's cruelty back on her and just straight up torturing her to death and Vex in particular gets two final quietly vicious shots, and then the battlefield goes quiet...and none of it mattered. Percy's still dead, he didn't make it through the fight when they know he should have. It's an incredibly bittersweet moment of hollow victory and it's a feeling shared among the entire team, because they're now realizing what Percy did—vengeance and catharsis don't bring back what you lost or make anything right.

And now? Even if they go chase her down, it won't hit the same. There isn't a quiet battlefield where two shadow archetypes met and neither made it out but one is grieved and loved and that makes all the difference. Instead Ripley gets to sail off and, I dunno, feel bad about herself? Get more unhinged? Ask herself how she managed to get punked by a 23-year-old twice? Why is it so damn important to keep her alive at this point, other than "well we blew our load on Thordak in episode 9 and the last three episodes have to have some tension (and we haven't really put in the work to make Raishan vs Keyleth compelling enough to carry the end of the season)"?

"Stop it!!" (You scream.) "Both of you!! They, S-sif you'll, you'll-"

(They both ignore you. You could see Siffrin, Null? Getting, more and more exhausted with each step. They look, almost dead to the world! You couldn't help but grip your rapier.)

"Perhaps we should tell them to stop." (You wince, Merlon was standing a few feet away, closer to you. Did they circle around while you were focused? Her voice was quieter.) "I fear your friend might have gone too far."

"Now you think it's too far?!?" (You're, you're overwhelmed, you were afraid, nervous, angry, hopeful; but you had to focus.) "Aren't you even a little just, just, sorry?!?"

"A smidge," (they reply flatly.) "It would be a shame for such a hero to die before we find out how he turns back time."

(But even though he looked obviously weak and beaten, Perci didn't let up.) "I'd call it cheating. . ." (His swords dances, like they know just where to be no matter what Siffrin did.) "but it looks like you're only hurting yourself."

(You feel numb, you might cut yourself with how tightly you hold your rapier.)

". . . He gets, excited." (Merlon comments again. They're still writing things down.) "Or Dramatic, take your pick. I'll talk to him about it again once we're done here."

"That's a real help." (You respond, a hint of malice in your voice.) "If you really wanted to help then-!

(You see Siffrin, Nulls dagger go flying.)

(You inhale sharply. Null steps back. Standing for a moment, then collapsed to his knees. He looks, exhausted.)

"SIFFRIN!!!" (You take a step forward, Melon raises a hand, stopping you for a moment.)

(Perci crouches down, looking into their face. He turns back to you.) "Not dead, I'm sure of it. And as you can see, I barely laid a scratch on him!"

"Now now, (Merlon shakes their head.) "While that's true, look at them. He may not be dead, but he might wish he was."

"Leave them alone!!" (Is he okay?!? How many times did he loop?!? What was he thinking why didn't he just go back to get more help first!!!) "They've gone through enough!!"

"True, then, in that case a deal is a deal." (Perci stretches his hands, looking back at- W-wait!)

"NO!!!!!" (You push past Merlons hand, drawing your rapier and lunging at Perci. He moves back just in time that your blade only catches his shirt. You place yourself firmly between your friends body and your enemy. Your body feels numb, but you stood your ground. You had to make sure Null was okay!! A-and, make sure that-)

"We had a deal!" (Perci looks annoyed.) "Come now, lady Mirabelle, that's not very housemaidenly of you!"

"Deals change." (You scowled as hard as you could. If he wanted to hurt your friend then crab to his deals!!!) "I'm not going to sit by and let you hurt them!!"

"Of course you aren't." (He huffed, readying his swords.) "Lady Mirabelle, you have one more chance to step aside, I've been polite so far but that, too, can change."

"You can read my mind, can't you?" (You take a stance, ready to fight. If you can read my mind, then you should know that change is exactly what I strive for!)

(You had no plan, you lunge at Perci, letting your instincts take controll. He blocked, parried, step, pause, what that a rustle in the bushes?!? You step back, swipe- birds, just birds. Calm your nerves, Mirabelle!!)

"Perci!" (Merlon exclaimed, oh! You sliced him on the face.) "I'll-"

"No! My love no need to strain yourself, I'm fine." (He came at you again, what was he going to do?!? Slice with both?!? You had move! Move and dance back, footwork! And, and- you block, parry, good! You felt excitment in your veins, you reveled in it.)

(He dove in again! Oh Change how long was he going to keep this up!?! You had to just, keep moving! You had to, get back, get help or- is Bonnie okay?!? Ramos okay?!?! What if something bad happened while you're here!!)

(Step, step, block. You were too busy with Perci to properly use your crafts! Scissors? You couldn't do anything! Even Siffrin could use some rock craft- No! You, had to keep a bottle on that, self-loathing for, f-for later. Just, keep surviving! Take your time and-)

(You let out a yelp as you felt metal nip your arm. You glance, blood. He was good, you were good, but he was using two swords! Of course he could beat you he's using two!! You only have your rapier, and Null had a DAGGER.)

(He came at you again, block and- ouch, another cut, could you keep up?!? You're the swordswoman of the group! You could keep up, right? Just keep trying, ignore that other nip, and another. Cuts, it hurts but just focus!)

(You slash Perci on the hand, he drops one of his swords, glances at you, hesitates, tries picking it up and winces. Wounded? You were getting somewhere! He sheethes that sword and readys just the one. Sweat and rain ran down your skin.)

"You're very talented, I'll give you that." (He was panting, Glaring at you. You kept on your toes, just in case he lunged.)

"You're, not too bad, yourself!" (You said it with as much venom as you could inject into a compliment.)

"Why, thank you." (He smiles, genuinely this time, then looked away, sad? Angry? Annoyed?) ". . . I don't want to hurt you, Lady Mirabelle."

"If you're trying to give me another chance to stand down, don't bother!" (Where was your confidence coming from? You were SURGING with determination, strength, anger, passion, trust, fear, euphoria, doubt. So many at once.)

(You looked down at Null, collapsed on the ground, he was passed out. They, they were your friend. Your family. Your, your feelings buddy. . . They'll, they'll be okay, right?)

"I was afraid you would say that." (He sighed, there's another sound from the bushes.) "And there's no way I can convince you otherwise?"

"No!" (You grip your sword tighter.) "I won't ever let someone hurt my friends!! And I would never ever let someone force their way into their minds!!!"

(You felt the rain on your skin, you felt a bead of sweat on your head, and you felt, felt, a tear run down your cheek. Tears, multiple tears.)

"But even if it could-"

"Shut up!" (You interupt. You felt the waves wash over you. You were drowning. You couldn't repress it. You couldn't hold it.)

(You felt ice cold. Your chest felt tight, and yet, you continue on.) "My friends mind isn't some plaything! And what he feels about his home, it should be his decision if he wants to be involved in your, y-your stupid crabbing research!!!"

(Perci was taken aback, but you continue.) "I don't want to hear you talk! I don't want to hear your excuses! I don't want to hear how you think this is Change, or how it's doing those forgotten people a favor!! Someones mind, emotions, self, it's private!!!"

(The betrayed feeling you bottled up when things were taken without asking. The sadness of failing that you couldn't show. The extreme joy of a nice gift you felt you had to repress. Bottled up inside, untill you die.)

(You wouldn't keep it bottled any longer, no! You made a promise as well, and you wouldn't keep those feelings bottled untill you die! And you wouldn't wallow in despair untill you die either!)

(You were taught that by two islanders. One, your closest friend, and the other, your hated enemy. Bottling their emotions and embracing them untill they were consumed. You ready your rapier. You made a promise.)

(You'll continue to fight.)

". . . Fine." (Perci sighs, defeated. He holds a scissors sign up.) "I'm sorry, Lady Mirabelle, you wont remember a thing, dont worry."

(He's about to use mind craft, you know it. Some strong charm, maybe something you couldn't beat, and, a-and that scared you, but.)

(He sends a blast of craft energy at you.)

(You stood your ground. You'll continue to fight, and you'll do it scared.)

(In a flash, that strange sadness was between you and Perci. It's hands were clasped together in a form that, that. . .)

(That's. . . That's your skill. That's your skill. Adorable Moving Shield, but, strongr! Holy Care Shield! The invulnerability shield you could never DREAM of learning how to craft- That's why it was randomly invincible!! It was using!! Your!! Skill!!!!)

(Perci stared at you, stared at the sadness. He was, for once, at a lost for words. It was only when the sadness dashed at Perci did he snap back to reality and start fighting for his life.)

"Perci!! I can-" (Merlon starts again.)

"I'm- Fine!!" (Perci did not sound fine. It sounded like he was running a marathon.) "Don't, you dare, Mimi."

(You were entranced by the sadness and how it moved. Now that you weren't fighting it, you recognised its movements because it's how you moved. It had your change symbol. It had your hair, your, your-)

"MIRABELLE!!!"

(You knew that voice, you turn, Ramos and Bonnie were running down the road to you. You smile, thank Change they came to help.)

(The sadness jumped back from Perci and growled. Perci looked winded, worried. He looked to you.) "I-Is, is it yours?!?"

"I-I, I don't know-" (The sadness rushed in again. Perci stepping back trying not to get sliced in two by its sharp claws.)

"CICI, PLEASE!!" (You heared Merlon scream. She was gripping her book tight, fear on their face.)

"I'm, I-I'm fine! I can't, can't risk--"

(He was cut off by a scream from the sadness. It looked at him dead in the eyes. And a moment later, he was frozen in time.)

"NO!"

(You felt a powerful blast of energy wash over you like a firestorm. You blink only for a second, but suddenly the sadness was between you and the storm. You glanced back, Ramos had scooped Bonnie up and was shielding them with their body.)

(When the scene cleared, Merlon was standing in front of Perci's frozen body. Her hands crackled with energy that looked like, light. You got a headache.)

(You smelled sugar. You smelled it stronger than you ever had before.)

(The sadness rushed at them and swiped. Merlon held a hand up and it looked like light itself stopped the sadness in its tracks. That didn't stop it, it was attacking relentlessly.)

"Change. . ." (You mutter, before readying your rapier again.)

"I-I. ." (Ramos' voice, they and Bonnie had finally caught up.) "I know them, where do I-"

"Ramos? You, joined the, saviors?" (Merlon was panting between each breath. She was focused on making those panels of light.) "That, that doesn't matter! L-lady Mirabelle-"

"Stop talking!!!" (Bonnie yells back, they were brandishing their frying pan like a strong little warrior.) "Just stop talking!!! You hurt 'Frin!!! And 'Belle!!

"I-I'm sorry, just, please-"

"It was you!" (Ramos gripped their tonfas.) "You're the one who, who-"

"Please! Just unfreeze him, Housemaiden!!"

(You hesitate at their voice. You knew that tone, desperation, devotion, it was a similar tone Isabeau had when Siffrin passed out for a week.)

"Undo the mind craft." (You respond.) "Release my friends and everyone here, a-and I'll unfreeze him."

"What!?!"

"'B-Belle???"

"Done." (They reached their hand into a pocket and pulled out a star charm. She threw it out, the sadness pounced on it and stabbed, stabbed, and stabbed over and over again.) "A backup in case we had to leave. I-I, I don't know how to prove my intent, apart from that."

". . ." (They could be lying to you. You had your doubts, your fears. However, between her and Perci, she had been the more honest and straight forward.) "Fine."

(You storm up to the frozen antagonist, breathe in, and out. You clap, and in wink, he was moving again. Gasping, glancing between you all.)

"I-I, did it, just-" (He started.)

(Merlon grabbed his arm and held him close. She looked at you. Her eyes were. . . Hard to read.) "Thank you, Housemaiden. We're leaving."

(Before anyone could protest, including Perci, Merlon snapped her fingers, and in a flash of light, they dissapeared.)

". . . . . . . . ."

". . . . . . . . ."

". . . . . . . . What the CRAB?!?"

(Your mouth felt numb. A-actually, your whole body was numb.)

"H-how, how did they, how did they do that?!?" (Ramos was looking dumbstruck and where the duo had dissapeared.) "What, what kinda craft was. . ."

"What's th'sadness doing?" (Bonnie tugged on your skirt- THE SADNESS!!!)

(You turn, the sadness was still stabbing at what little remained of the star charm. Why wasn't it attacking? You all stared at it before you turned back to Ramos and Bonnie.) "I-I'll, deal with it. Go help Siffrin, t-they looped far too much and passed out."

"Stupid crabface." (Bonnie mumbled, before stomping over to Siffrin.)

". . ." (Ramos look away for a moment.) ". . . That, that was them, right? The two who. . ."

(You nod.) "It was. You're okay, Ramos."

(Ramos looks at you, smiling a little, before going to help Siffrin.)

(You turn back to the sadness.)

("When ones emotions and craft skills are strong enough, a sadness is created from their emotions alone." "Those who are frozen in time spawned their own, strong, Bonded Sadness. If you defeat them, the powerful craft and emotional energy will rebound on who created it." "we were able to beat the sadness, but then. . . I don't remember, but something bad happened.")

(You were bound to this sadness, weren't you. You don't know how, you don't know why, but, you knew this was your sadness. You stepped forward, slowly. This was your emotions made form, wasn't it.)

(The sadness looked up at you. Stared at you. You felt a wave of emtions, you felt numb, yet, cold. You stood your ground.)

". . . . . . . . . . . H-hello-"

(The sadness tilted its head to the side, staring at you. Its gaze was cold and inquisitive. It was, testing you.)

". . . . . . . You're, me, aren't you."

{. . . . .}

(In a blurr, the sadness was in your face. Hands on the side of your head, staring at you with that uncovered, crying eye.)

{I CAN'T WAIT TO NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN.}

(The words sent shivers through your mind. You couldn't move, you couldn't think, that, that was your voice, wasn't it.)

"Do you want to kill me?"

{MAYBE.}{MAYBE YOU WON'T EVEN COME BACK TONIGHT.}{AND MAYBE YOU'LL STAY HERE. SMILING. SAYING IT'S OKAY. UNTILL. YOU. DIE.}

(The cold, creeping feeling was digging into your heart.) "But it's not okay."

honestly i dont really keep up with the pjo universe but it's always a good time to re-launch my hoo rewrite post because i did kind of slay with that one if i do say so myself

anyway i think in general just leaving percy jackson himself alone and exploring the universe more? but i also think rr is never going to do that. to be honest, i think that's the difficulty most creators of a beloved fantasy universe run into -- in the initial creation of the work, the universe itself serves as a backdrop for one character's journey. the story is about the character (percy jackson for example) and the setting and side characters and contrivances are all built in order to serve his development. and that's good! that's why the original books are so compelling.

but then, because it's exciting and engaging and unique and feels fresh and lived in, the audience falls in love with the universe as it exists independent of the character. this happens all the time -- and then they clamor for new stories set in that world, and the creator is suddenly staring down a massive check for a sequel/prequel/spinoff of their beloved world -- and how can they say no!

but the problem for the creator is that they functionally CAN'T separate the universe from the character. they're one and the same -- everything that happens, every rule of this universe, is created to service the journey and arc of this one character (if it's well written, of course). this isn't necessarily true for fans, who often take a greater interest in the side characters, throwaway lines, and subtle implications a creator leaves behind -- and, of course, that's where a lot of the desire to both consume and create fanfiction comes from, and why it's such an enduring form.

anyway that was a bit of a tangent but it's just something i've been thinking about lately in context of a lot of popular franchises and how they go from being tight, coherent, well-woven stories into bloated, contradictory messes. i mean yeah, the problem is capitalism, but like there's also something deeper about being a creator vs. being a fan of something. and i think that difference is significant in terms of how we engage with the stories we love vs the stories we create

wood nymphs. they've got a different gender system than demigods, as well as different pronouns, but to keep it simple for the campers your best bet is they/them.

the resident god Dionysus ofc. he has a complicated relationship with gender (see his chapter in PJ's Greek Gods) but basically, doesn't care what you call him. he/they generally.

Drew Tanaka! she's just. always considered herself a girl. there was never any hesitation. her mom called her son and she just. did not compute. her mom was accepting and just sort of called aphrodite up and told her that actually she had given birth to a girl. Aphrodite sent down a new wardrobe in return. she never changed her name.

Clarisse la Rue. she came out when she was twelve. her mom didn't accept her, but clarisse had run away years before that so... her mother never apologized. when clarisse went to her house with chris, it was only because she was truly desperate. after the battle of manhattan clarisse called her once, and. never again.

Lou Ellen Blackstone. she told cecil and will when they were eleven or so (SOM) but didn't really come out to everyone else until one of the hunters pulled her aside in TTC to ask if she wanted to join bc the hunters are super good at finding girls apparently. lou ellen really regrets this but somehow cecil convinced her to make her legal name Louise-Eleanor (first) Wilmadeen (middle) Cecilia (middle) Blackstone. it-- she pretends it's just lou ellen. don't bring it up. Will thinks there was a murder involved and-- well neither of them are telling him otherwise, that's all i'm saying.

FTM: (oh boy here's where I projected a whole bunch)

PERCY MOTHERFUCKING JACKSON. alright folks you ready? so percy came out when he was twelve RIGHT before TLT picks up. struggling mother sally jackson immediately accepts him no questions asked (well there are a few questions but) she gets him onto puberty blockers from a free clinic on forth street right away and changes his name legally. financially they're still struggling, obviously, but sally is picking up some extra shifts. she's already planning on having percy go on T when he turns 16 (if he lives that long--) and after manhattan poseidon and sally sit him down and are like: okay so technically because of ancient laws poseidon can't just snap his fingers but uh if you want a real easy top surgery just do a really easy quest for him and he'll magic your tits away and percy agrees of course so poseidon drops a sand dollar on the ground and in the. most. indifferent voice possible he goes "oh no. my sand dollar. i need a hero." and percy picks it up-- and done. that's when he decides to join the swim team because he doesn't need to bind anymore. also when he heard the prophecy percy immediately went, well i know it says im going to die but hey the universe recognises me as a dude that's pretty cool right. very affirming for him.

NEXT UP we've got michael. height dysphoria kicks ass so seriously don't mention how short he is. anyway michael thought that it was spelt micheal so he chose it for the pun and to feel connected to his dad. uh. don't bring that up to him either. anyway despite being very short, michael's usually pretty stealth. he came out in ttc when he asks jake mason out bc luke used to date his brother lee and michael basically goes "hey do you want to go out i promise i'll be a good boyfriend and not leave you like luke left lee." and jake just bluescreens for a moment because wait, BOYfriend, and anyway after that michael realises he never told anyone. (not necessary to the post but jake said yes) oh, also, his middle name is john. why? who knows. it wasn't significant or anything, clarisse just turned to him one day and said, "you know, you look like a john." so yeah, Michael John Yew. also he liked archery bc it was a lot easier to bind in so.

following that you'll find that actually the three main pjo apollo boys are trans. so WILLIAM ANDREW SOLACE. my baby boy is-- well he's got a lot going on. Will binds (but when he turns 16 he's going to get top surgery and he is. very excited) and don't let his mild mannered doctor self fool you he is a HYPOCRITE when it comes to binding, like that bitch will nag you for hours if you bind for over 8 hours and then you'll see him come off a 48 hour infirmary shift still binding. when he was young and his mother was touring, she left him with his grandparents. He tried to come out at five and cut all of his hair off, but his grandparents kicked him out. Clarisse found him in Texas and brought him to camp. which isn't SATS compliant but I haven't read it yet so *shrug*. Anyway Andrew is after Apollo, when Apollo first met Naomi, he called himself Andrew.

Lee Fletcher is also trans. He was fully transitioned by the time he died. He was super upper class when he came out and his mum stopped speaking to him, but he kept his wealth and became a staunch advocate for trans rights until he died. Anyway he came out when he was seventeen.

PJO/HOO headcanon (takes place in a world with no ToA): Chaotic Good Primordials

-Chaos occasionally goes where they wants, so they occasionally watches the demigods go on their quests and records every time they unintentionally unleash chaos by facing monsters (Percy is his favorite since Mt. Saint Helens). They manifested into a woman to Sally Jackson to hang out as friends and in a surprisingly butterfly effect, Chaos suddenly is godfather/godmother of Estelle Jackson (Which obviously even Chaos themselves didn't expect at all).

-Lady Nyx adopted demigods who have accidentally fallen into Tartarus, in fact, the process is: She scares them to death in her 40ft tall form -> when the demigod is about to faint, she and her children start laughing and become more or less human-sized and calm him down (it's a freak them out tradition) -> Previously adopted demigods usually wait for the whole act to be over and have dinner with the potential new little brother/sister. (Percy and Annabeth were almost adopted that day.)

-Tartarus couldn't really care less about Gaea's new attempt to try and dethrone Olympus, although he supports her because if there's even a slight chance of bringing the Big Three back down to his domain, he'd do it without hesitation. Despite apparently being angry with Damasen in their confrontation, when Percy and Annabeth leave he pats Damasen in the head and walks away.

Extra fact: After Blood Of Olympus, Tartarus gives Daedalus' laptop and Annabeth's dagger to Eris and she (remember that in Sea of ​​Monsters it's implied that she works with Hermes) sends both things to Annabeth.

-Uranus stayed living in the old mount Othrys in Greece (there are versions of the myths where it is said that he is alive, and he is the one who advised Zeus to eat Metis if he did not want to be dethroned + he also helped in the first Gigantomachy). The primordials (except Gaea) visit him from time to time. -Pontus and Thalassa woke up after the second titan war and the first thing they did was take Oceanus and Poseidon by the ear (Even if they're not their father, they treat them like their children). In this timeline ToA doesn't happen, but Percy having to do chores for Zeus and other gods does, Poseidon rambles about it during a dinner at his palace and Pontus promptly jets off to Olympus to have a diplomatic chat with Zeus (no one messes with a child of the sea) while Thalassa do a Tea party with Aphrodite.

-After the war, Gaea appears in the mansion of the Night by the work of Chaos, there is basically a divine intervention and a lot of therapy in between (+Chaos is now a godfather/godmother, he would not allow under any circumstances that a war would harm his goddaughter) After a while, Chaos hands over dominion of Ogygia to Gaea, and she and Calypso make the island a Paradise, and when Leo arrives both are beyond confused on how and why (btw, Leo and Calypso have free pass to go back the island after they leave)

Gaea easily could leave, but choose to stay and work in the island, she doesn't know why or how, but soon, Metis, Helios, Selene, Pan appear there too, and she look fowards to the day she can see her children again.

Outsiders, Krowfang POV, episode 16

The music at the beginning is so sad.

Ah. Right where we left off, Krow in clearing B and a griever.

Tasia and Percy are helping Krow hide in the elevator, Tasia says the rain should cover its footsteps. Their telling it to stay quiet. Krow is obviously terrified, Tasia keeps telling it that it'll be okay.

The sun has risen, time to go Krow. It was planning to go but fell through the elevator glass.

It's alive! Injured and hungry but alive!. It's eating rotten flesh, it doesn't know how long it's been. The sun's only just rising, so has been a day minimum.

It's looking around the clearing. It's crying, ah the feels. It needs to look around so it can say goodbye and understand that they are gone. It's going past Beks stage.

Ah! No! The bracelets. They're by Beks stage. Krow is distraught. Oh, it sounds so sad, I'm probably gonna cry today. It's taking the bracelets, good. It's questioning if Apo is even at fault, that maybe they would have survived if Bek hadn't cut the rope. It says it wouldn't have mattered if the clearing was ruined, as long as they were all alive. It says the clearing was just a place its family found comfort in.

It thinks it could have done more. That all it did was panic and hide in a cave with Soup like a coward, wonders what it could have done if it stayed and helped people. Thinks it could have done so much more. Ah sad music, this goes great with its crying.

It's leaving the clearing. It says it will slit Beks throat if she's still alive. It promises to get out and stop being such an idiot. Thinks maybe it was for the best the died so they wouldn't have to deal with Clearing A that kill each other.

Promises to come back and take pieces of everyone to bury. Apologises for losing itself. Says it's been an idiot and can't think of anyone it hasn't hurt. It says it needs to apologise to a lot of people, but isn't even sure it would accept its own apology

It's back at clearing A, Ayngel at the door. Ayngel is crying. Ayngel is asking where it's been, Krow wants to know why she's crying. Krow left when it was raining, it hasn't rained in a while, not promising. Ayngel will tell Krow why she's crying if it tells her why it was in the maze.

It's told her, Ayngel says it doesn't look good, Krow keeps saying it's fine. Squidneys dead, that's why Ayngel was crying she was waiting just in case she came back. Ayngel doesn't know how she died.

Krow doesn't know why Ayngel still cares about it, since it's been a dick. Krow is apologising to Ayngel. Ayngel forgives it, says she thinks everyone lost a bit of themselves. Ayngel is gonna try to figure out how Squidney died for Ayngel, and itself, then they'll try to make something in her memory.

It's crying over Squidney. Flashbacks of moments it had with Squidney. It says Squidney had more to do, that she was kind and didn't deserve it. It wants to find Mohwee, wants him to be okay. Wants to find Magic but doesn't think she wants to talk to it. Called itself pathetic for just walking around crying. It is injured still from falling down that elevator maybe it should go to Soup first before wandering around.

It's thrown its knives away to show it's harmless, found Magic and asked to talk. It's asked if she's okay with Squidney, she asked why it cares and walked off. It's trying to convince her it does care. It's told her it's finding itself again, and if she needs time that that's okay, but if she changes her mind it's here.

She's asked if it's cold, she's leading it to her house. She's given it red and black dyed clothes. And hot chocolate. Krow is crying and apologising. Krow is asking what happened with Squidney, Magic is telling it. It's asking her to not blame herself. Magic is leaving to do some things she has to do.

It's found Squidneys grave. It's planting a yellow flower, a lot of crying Krow is doing today. It's giving a eulogy, very cute. The howling noises from the maze really add to the ambiance. It hopes she's with its friends in the afterlife. I am gonna cry, Krow please. Magic! Please help it. Please.

Magic is also asking where it's been. She's asking it what happened. It's telling her the whole thing. Magic has given Krow black backpack and more hot chocolate. Are you trying to kill me Magic?

It's telling her it wants to do better, but might need a little help. Magic says that it's trying and that's what matters. Krow is asking if it's still going in a cage, Magic said that's not up to her.

Magic says only her, Ayngel, Kyle and Gracie know what it did, so it's up to them to decide punishment, but for its safety prison would be a likely option. I feel like this will go horribly and everyone should know Krow done it and collectively decide punishment or let Acho, it's only actual victim, decide what happens to it. I feel like Gracie and Kyle could be biased, Kyle especially.

Magic says prison would be safest for it, but she'd make sure they would visit every day. Krow wants to talk to Ayngel to tell her about what happened to Squidney.

Krow plans to build a house, Ayngel is willing to help. Krow is telling Ayngel what happened to Squidney.

It's telling Ayngel what happened, Ayngel is sorry she didn't realise it went back. Krow says it's okay and says no one here likes it. Krow says it okay that no one likes it because it's gonna try to fix that, Ayngel says Krow never lost her. Krow says it needs to tell her to stick up for herself, because no one should treat her the way it did. Ayngel says she was fine with it, including nearly going to prison in its place, because she liked its company. Why does no one from clearing B have good self-esteem, I think Emma might have but literally no one else.

Krow has given Ayngel a bat, they're writing Squidneys name on a blackboard at Ayngels in remembrance. Magic has joined, she's drawn a pair of goggles on the board with Squidneys name.

They're playing tag. They're so cute. Magic won, apparently always wins tag.

Krow is naming an allium Jesper.

Ayngel talked with Kyle and apparently he's not upset. I severely doubt that. Krow doesn't think it's safe to build a house, but will talk to Kyle to see how they are.

First of all, I only now noticed that in the intro Vax is the only one not waking up when the strings of fate(?) Pass the group by foreshadowing!!

I love that they start with the few last minutes of the first season, they're important but also the perspective changed and so good

They don't forget Gilmore this time! More Vax and Gilmore content and I love it so much

Vax already seeing the Raven Queen, already weaving that in, my poor boy is getting tormented but I love that they do that

All the dragons are so unique and so terrifying and the voice acting is so good holy shit barely recognised Liam as Vorugal, they're all so terrifying

The destruction of Emon is so beautiful and they show so easily just how in over their head they are

Finding Gilmore in his shop, poor scanlan not being able to get some gadgets except for Vex' future broom, Vax hovering over Gilmore

I can be wrong but I think they haven't resurrected anyone yet, it's always been that they are (barely still alive) is Vex gonna be the first one??? That will make it so much more devastating

Vex not being allowed on the ice but Scanlan is and then being in danger and noone of VM saving him, he's going through it

I for sure missed a lot but there is so much there and I have only watched them one time yet but the title credits as well and they're setting everything up so well like Percy opening up and ready to be helpful but then he kills Vex and Vax warning everyone to be careful so clearly setting his anger up as well, Scanlan is so obviously feeling left out and Pike is clearly concerned for Grog who is oblivious to it all and the warnings that his sword is evil. Keyleth still so insecure and not knowing what to do but also another home taken from her. Vex and the approval she needs from her father and how much she cares for Vax as well but also might find him a little overbearing sometimes but still wanting to listen to him and clearly stuck between those

I just love this show so much and cannot wait till the next episodes

I'll be honest,if the weasley kids had a tv show I would have percy as my favourite. Bill aand charlie arent in it so I wouldnt have an opinion (they're obviously hinted at but never there) Arthur's gonna annoy me kinda, molly is really nice but she always compares her kids. Ron (as lovely as he is) can be really mean to percy and just sucky to him. I love Ginny but everyone knows jk made her because "girl power= not feminine traits!1!1!1!" I love her,I love her love for quidditch but I feel like I still clearly see what she represents and that's jks sentiments (like cho for example, as an asian it's never gonna leave my mind). The twins would be great in theory but 2 twins insulting their older brother, burning a hole through their brothers tongue? Pranking everybody ALL THE TIME? I say I love them but seriously if I studied at hogwarts I would loathe them because hey, were in class- prank somebody in a more boring one or after. Also they're way too mean to percy.

Percy is the kinda dude I'd identify with, I hate how his family shames him alot. Sure hes ambitious but at the same time I hate when they bully him for his pride in his prefect badge and his head boy badge, like CMON! Gryffindor traits??? PRIDEFUL like yeah hes gonna be happy because he feels accomplished. I remember getting into model un and I talked about it at dinner time,my siblings got kinda annoyed but did they insult me abt it? No! They understood that this was a big part of my pride. They teased me a little "Haha model un-er" or "your rooms the country your representing right? Oops I dont have my passport" regular happy sibling stuff. You dont insult your brothers pride and joy, it's obvious hes so happy about it.

If there's gonna be a show on the Weasley family, the only interestee Weasley I would be watching is for Percy. Now let's go through every Weasley.

Arthur- at work, never home, if at home in shed exploring muggle things instead of probably bonding with his children.

Molly-would do chores, help children and maybe chat with next door neigbour. A slight chance of bonding with kids. Not very entertaining really.

Bill and Charlie- I mean depends whether they're even there or gone. If they're there they'd probably argue with each other. Maybe we'll get the Bill earring story and Charlie dragon obsession. Other than that maybe sibling bonding which is always good.

Twins- I cannot emphasize enough as to why I wouldn't watch the twins, if there was such a tv show. Each episode they'll probably prank someone most probably Ron and Percy. And then these pranks would get violent and physical and they would still be the saints and Percy the villain.

I mean the twins cause Ron's phobia, almost make him take the Unbreakable Vow (Ron was 5!) and then beat his Puffskein to death.

AND PUFFSKEIN IS AN ANIMAL.

And that's only Ron. If I start on Percy the jokes are endless but let's just end with the twins tried to locked Percy in a pyramid( God knows how old!). Enough said.

Ron- We already have Ron content in the book. Do we really need more? Yes we do but not if it's Ron insulting Percy. And if this show was before Harry and Hogwarts then Ron would be a young child like 9-10 years old and I personally wouldn't be interested. I love Ron but he loses absolutely no moment to insult or bitch about his brother. Plus Ron is whiny. Sometimes.

Ginny- They'll probably make her a Mary Sue who can do no wrong. They would seriously do that and make her a female version of the twins. Sorry not interested in watching her.

When we come to Percy there are so many things we can do. We can see bonding with Bill or Charlie. Percy being a good older brother and helping with nightmares. Percy being his mother's support system. Percy helping Arthur with his work. Percy teaching Ron chess. Percy planning a prank with twins. Percy playing dolls with Ginny.

With Percy you can relate him to everyone in some way or another. We know Molly loves Percy and probably considers him her favorite. Probably. Arthur with the Ministry so Percy and Ministry. Percy going to Bill with help for studies. Percy helping Charlie research about dragons.(Percy telling Charlie his dormmate is crazy about quidditch and asking if Charlie could give him tips and an autograph)

Percy playing chess with Ron. We know Percy is protective over Ron and Ginny. So we can assume that Percy teaches Ron chess and helps him read. Percy reading to Ginny about Harry Potter.(Really though who else would have? Molly would be busy and Bill and Charlie wouldn't)

Or we can have Percy writing stuff. Short stories and articles. Percy being a writer. Percy singing , dancing or drawing. Percy sneaking to Muggle town and talking to them.

Percy finding Scabbers.

Percy going to the Lovegood residence and talking with Luna's mother because she is such an amazing person.

(And taking her death the hardest)

Also Percy bonding with Luna.

Percy bonding with Uncle Billius or Great Aunt Muriel. Also reminsing time with Uncle Gideon and Fabian.

Percy having babysitter called Lily Potter who looked just like him but with bright green eyes. She reads to him about adventure stories and tells him she loves him very much and once brought her husband with her(who's an animagus!)

(While his brothers rejoiced the fall of You Know Who, Percy cried because Miss Lily and Mr James were dead. That was the time Percy realised that bad things happen to good people)

Well to put it in short there are so many angles with Percy which makes him interesting in my opinion.

If they do make let's hope they don't screw Percy over like they did with him in that damn game.

Percy is the only Weasley who I can relate to which makes me love him more. I am an elder sibling, have been constantly insulted by family and friends for following rules and very rarely been put down for being excited for something.

And the whole making fun of Percy is bullying when they're laughing at him and not with him.

These 2 prepositions make all the difference when it comes to teasing and bullying.

And the twins are bullies. They are.

"Oh, are you a prefect, Percy? You should've said something, we had no idea."

This is one of the lines they say.

How much do you want to bet that the twins didn't say something like this to Bill when he became prefect and HeadBoy?

Percy was a constant butt of their jokes and pranks, including bewitching his prefect and Head Boy badges to read Pinhead and Bighead Boy respectively, and sending dragon dung to his office at the Ministry.

This is from the official wikia. People can try to make the twins saint and say it was all good natured and everything. But I will always see the twins as bullies.

And the thing is the twins and Ron never bothered to praise Percy and that just feels wrong. Everytime they talk about Percy it's qn insult. When I talk about my brother to an acquaintance I don't insult him unlike Ron.

I feel that as Percy fans we love him because he is complicated. He isn't like the rest of the Weasleys. He isn't charming or funny. He's just a normal guy trying to do better and Percy fans get it because it's relatable. We can relate to being ordinary. He doesn't have earrings or pranks or a saviour best friend. He's just a guy who follows rules and wants to be successful. Who wouldn't relate with that?

And maybe some of us have been ridiculed just like Percy so we understand. We also understand that this is Harry's biased view and all he has been told about Percy is usually by Ron or the twins who insult him on a regular basis. And Harry is no better! He uses words like pompously like he understands how a person talks pompously?

So I love Percy a lot because I relate to him and I would never in my life apologise for loving such a complicated character.

The answer to your question is yes and no.

Percy Jackson is manipulated into going onto quest after quest, watching his friends die, and killing other demigods for the sake of keeping the Olympians - who are forcing him to do these things - in positions of power. The Olympians convince Percy that while they have flaws, they're much better than raising Kronos.

"Kronos ate his children!" screams Zeus, who ate his pregnant wife and then gave birth to Athena.

"Kronos kills mortals without care!" Zeus howls as he brings planes down and flattens skyscrapers in major cities.

"Kronos killed his father!" yowls Zeus, who cut his father Kronos into thousands of pieces.

Percy is only half convinced that the Olympians are better than Kronos in the beginning...but as the series goes on and Percy learns more and more, he realizes that the Olympians are full of shit. Luke is right. They have to change.

Annabeth has a grudge against Hera and she and Hermes are on bad terms but otherwise all she wants in life is to please Athena.

Thalia hates Zeus because of her alcoholic mother and her stolen little brother. She says that Zeus doesn't answer her prayers although we've never seen evidence of this in the text. Thalia and Luke used to conspire against the gods when they were young but when he begs her to join him, Thalia refuses on the basis of loyalty to her father and blaming her death on Luke (even though it was indirectly Zeus' fault and directly Hades' fault). Thalia then kills Luke.

Ethan's mother, Nemesis, took his eye so that he could "restore balance" and he doesn't have a problem with this, hiding in Kronos' army and then turning against Kronos to "restore balance" before he's killed.

So Luke commits suicide to stop Kronos from rising. Percy is the one who handed him the weapon to do it. As he's bleeding out, Luke makes Percy promise not to let this happen again. To hold the Olympians responsible for their actions. Percy promises. Luke dies.

The Olympians offer Percy godhood for making sure they stay in power. Percy instead tells them to claim their children so they can come to Camp Half-Blood and train. He also wants them to have cabins built for all of the children of minor gods and Hades' children.

The gods are in an uproar about having to do this much, but eventually, reluctantly, agree. They claim their children. They leave the demigods to build the cabins. There's a huge influx of new campers.

Annabeth suggests sticking the new campers and the minor demigods in caves or tree houses. She winds up putting them in tiny houses.

This is considered a happy ending. A good ending. Luke is dead, Kronos is scattered to the winds, the Olympians are still comfortably in power and now their little pawns (the ones who survived) have stopped rebelling.

In Heroes Of Olympus, the gods are back on their bullshit x2. Percy stands in an arena about to fight to the death for a cheering crowd. This is not the first time he's done this. He thinks, "Luke was right."

This is the only time it was brought up that Luke was right. No other character brings this up or agrees that Luke was right about the gods.

Except for Apollo, once Apollo is turned human. He says that the gods are tyrants and that they will never change. Apollo is human for a couple of months and then his godhood is restored and apparently he's changed because he was turned mortal (not for the first time). I wouldn't hold my breath on that though. Obviously Apollo wants the Olympians to stay in power.

So, yes it is acknowledged that Luke was right and, no, no one actually says it out loud and only Percy and Apollo thinks this.

The fandom thinks that Luke is irredeemably evil and completely wrong about everything and his being manipulated by Kronos for two years - starting at the tender age of 17 after failing his utterly pointless fetch quest and being permanently disfigured  when the actual god of war couldnt resist Kronos' manipulation - was his own fault. Those who think he just went about it in an evil way don't like to admit that the only time Luke ever directly hurt a demigod (not counting the times he was possessed by Kronos and not in control of his body) was cutting Percy's knee during a fight and siccing a pit scorpion on Percy (neither of which did lasting damage) and that no demigods (monsters or mortals) died by Luke's hand...while Percy's kill count for demigods, mortals, and monsters who fell by his own hand is in the hundreds.

I never got past like 10 chapters of the first book (it’s boring) but I did see the movie and listen tp the musical adaptation so I have a question for people who read the books: In Percy Jackson, do they ever explore the fact that the bad guy (Luke I think his name is?) is like… absolutely right?? Cause like. The gods DID abandon their kids on earth. They DID unfairly leave them in terrible situations in a place where their abilities meant they could never fit and and apparently are constantly in danger because they have the scent of demigods. They would be totally right in being angry at the gods in this scenario. I assume they pulled the whole ‘I abandoned you to protect you cause I love you’ nonsense which is not good enough for me but also not good enough to a child?? Who’s gone through trauma because of the aforementioned abandonment??? So I just wanna know like. Is that ever explored or. Is it all black and white in the eyes of the narrative.
