when you care about the little things about him, remembering things he told weeks, even months ago. letting him know you hear and pay attention to everything he says.
when you take him off the kitchen, forcing him to rest, he'll ''complain'' about it, but he's so grateful and head over heels when you massage his tense muscles, letting out a sigh as you reach his sore shoulders.
when you trust enough for him to lay on your fluffy belly, caressing his hair. that was the best nap he ever took.
when you lecture luffy for asking sanji to cook for him so late at night, letting the blonde go to sleep a little earlier. he really loves how you care about his well-being.
when you help him in the kitchen, he insists he don't need help, that you should rest, but you're stubborn, helping him in every way you can. he swears he can't fall in love more that he already did, but you always proved he was terrebly wrong.
when he sees your fucked out expression after eating you out for hours. your throat sore from screaming his name, your hands on his messy hair. "just one more, mon chèri... for me?"
𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐙𝐎𝐍
when the first instinct that you have when he fall for the thousand time, is helping him get up and asking if he's okay.
Tumblr media
when he gets home late at night and sees you're sat on the couch with a book in hand, waiting for him so you'll both go to bed together.
when you look into his eyes everytime he smiles, "you look so cute when you smile, rosi" you say, and as his cheeks burns, you smile too, knowing well what you do to him.
when, on one of the nights he can't sleep, you hug him from behind and kiss behind his ear and neck, making him relax in bed; reassuring him with your presence.
when he sees you and law getting along with each other; he sees law opening more with you and he cant help but smile at the sight of you and him talking about "Sora, the warrior of the sea" while law smiles.
when you try to take all of his cock in your mouth, it barely fitting as you look at him all innocent with tears in your eyes. his hand on your hair as he fight back the urge to fuck your face. "that's it cariño... you're doing so well"
𝐋𝐀𝐖
when, in the middle of the night, you go to his office and lay your head on his shoulder, mumbling that the bed is cold without him, leaving him with no choice but to cuddle with you in bed.
Tumblr media
when you're laying on his chest and trace his tattoos, slow and delicate fingertips running through everywhere the black ink is.
when you let him lay on your breasts, his hand passing on your belly while the other arm is around your waist. your right hand is on his raven hair while the other is caressing his back.
when you chuckle while he look serious patching your wound from a recent fight. "what is it?" "you look cute when you're trying to look serious"
when you come into his office, onigiris in hand while you remind him that he have to eat and rest. you're always so good to him... he really dont know what he would do without you.
when you're on his lap, his dick so deep inside you while you try not to move too much. he points at your tummy "you see that, dear? I'm so deep in you... you're so good to me, taking care of me so well..." he says and kiss your neck, leaving you a moaning mess.

Hiya dear 💕 for the fifth place winner fluff alphabet tier, I choose Luffy~ ✨
Ahhh! Yes, our adorable bean of a captain! Hehe, I hope you like it, dearie~
Fluff Alphabet: Monkey D. Luffy
Tumblr media
A-   Activities: How do they spend their time with their s/o?
We all know that Luffy adores adventures, and of course, that’s the number-one activity he enjoys with his s/o! He’ll cart his s/o off into all kinds of gallivants, whether they’re grand-scale explorations of islands on the Grand Line or little trips into port to get into whatever trouble they can. Fun is the most important thing to him, so naturally he’ll want to share all his life’s memorable moments with the person he loves most by his side.
Luffy also loves to sit on the bulkhead of the ship with his s/o with them seated on his lap, cradling them in his arms. Luffy’s one true love is freedom, which is perfectly encapsulated in the wide, ever-expanding blue of the rolling sea. He could sit there for hours gazing off into the nothingness dreaming of what lies beyond the horizon, and he loves to share those special moments with his s/o. Sometimes they’ll sit in silence, just gazing, and other times they’ll chatter excitedly about what could be hidden in the sparkling waters. Either way, it’s one of his favorite things to do, even more so now that he has someone to share his wonderings with.
B-    Body: What does this character appreciate about their s/o? What part of their body are they most proud of, and in reverse, what body part are they ashamed of and how do they respond to their s/o gushing over it?
Luffy’s mind is a bit… strange when it comes to attraction. He’s not geared to feel a high level of physical attraction or pick out the favorite parts of his partner. He loves them, all of them; how could he pick a favorite? Luffy loves his s/o from their head to their toes, and he’s gonna shower love in all those places!
Likewise, Luffy isn’t one affected by body-related self-esteem issues. However, one sore spot of his is the X-shaped scar on his torso, the fruits of his two-year training stint on Amazon Lilly. It’s a personal reminder of Ace’s death, and though he can most of the time wear it as a badge of honor for growing strong enough to take on the New World, sometimes it also reminds him that he wasn’t strong enough to protect the things that matter most. When he gets in these low states of mind, he feels better when his partner lovingly strokes the scar tissue whispering consoling things. It doesn’t take much for him to bounce back, and then he’s initiating cuddles as thanks.
C-    Cuddles: Is this character a cuddler? What is their favorite way to cuddle?
Holy shit. Cuddle this boy. He loves it; he lives for the cuddles. This man will literally walk around cuddling, smothering his s/o like a mama penguin as they waddle around deck doing whatever. This baby loves, loves, loves physical affection and cuddles are the best in his mind. Luffy’s favorite way to cuddle is either A. cuddling on the bulkhead of the ship while staring at the sea or B. spooning, where he’s the big spoon spidermonkeying all over his s/o, limbs wrapped around them to pull them impossibly close. Cuddle this baby. Please. You will have his whole ass heart.
D-   Dreams: How do they picture their future with their s/o?
We all know Luffy’s dream— become Pirate King! This dream controls pretty much his entire life, but don’t think that his s/o is brushed to the side because of this! In actuality, they go hand in hand. He takes great pride in the idea of his s/o being there for his greatest accomplishment. Really; it doesn’t extend farther than that; marriage and settling down are not things he is thinking about. He wants to become Pirate King and sail the seas with his s/o by his side, and that’s all he needs.
E-    Equivalence: Is this character the dominant force in the relationship, are they passive, or is the relationship more or less even?
Luffy, whether he is aware of it or not, presents a more or less even relationship. He’s stubborn and obstinate and has a one-track mind, but he never tries to make decisions for his s/o, at least in terms of the relationship. The last thing he wants to do is control anyone, let alone the person he loves. Relationships with Luffy are rollercoasters, but thankfully not difficult because he very much understands the concept of give-and-take.
F-    Fights: How does this character respond to arguments with their s/o? What would they fight about, and who would cave and apologize first?
Luffy is stubborn and reckless, and this can grate s/o’s who are either unused to his behavior, or cannot control their anxiety over the various misadventures he ends up in. However, Luffy doesn’t understand most of the time why his s/o gets upset; he can handle himself so just have faith! It’s difficult for him to grasp the idea that an s/o is going to worry over him because the idea of losing him is unbearable, and logic does not apply. So Luffy is gonna pout and grump and mope.
Most of the time, it is him who apologizes first. He doesn’t like his s/o being mad at him. He’ll slink in after bed that night to wrap his s/o up in his arms and bury his face into their hair, grunting about how he’s sorry and he’ll try to do better. He does mean it, and he does try, but he just can’t help himself most of the time…
G-   Gratitude: How does this character show their s/o that they are grateful?
Luffy’s a pretty straightforward guy, so he’ll come right out and say that he’s grateful for things his s/o has done, or even just existing. He’ll wrap them up in a great big snuggly hug while sporting a big grin and just lay on the praise. It doesn’t matter who’s around, either, so it can be embarrassing for some! But he just adores his s/o, and wants them to know that.
H-   Honeymoon: If this character had a honeymoon with their s/o, where would they go?
Luffy understands the concept of a honeymoon, but he doesn’t get the importance of going off somewhere without all his friends. He’d definitely insist on just carrying on going about their adventures, like it’s one great big honeymoon itself! If his s/o puts up enough of a fight (or begins to cry, oh no), he’ll definitely relent and just tell them to choose. He wants his s/o to be happy, and if that means taking some time away from sailing, then he’ll do it gladly. Just please don’t cry.
I-      Insecurity: What is this character insecure about? How do they deal with their insecurities with their s/o?
Luffy and “insecurity” seemingly exist in the same sentence. Luffy is very confident in himself for the most part. However, his s/o will be privy to the dark part he’s buried deep inside himself holding his fears and doubts. The events of Saobody and the Paramount War do haunt him, and he does carry reservations now, reservations that his strength will fall and someone he loves will pay the price. Luffy is pretty good about broaching the topic to his s/o himself. When the feelings grow too much for him to bear alone, he’ll creep to his s/o in the dead of night and seek their comfort.
J-      Jealousy: Is this character the jealous type? How do they deal with being jealous?
Oh, bless this baby’s heart, he gets so jealous. He can’t help it. The idea of someone making passes at his s/o? It infuriates him to no end. When they are out and someone makes a move on his s/o, he is by their side in an instant. He will plaster himself all over them and make ugly faces and very blatantly insist that that is his s/o. If the person is insistent, he solves it like he solves most of his problems— punching them in the face. Then he’ll snuggle up with his s/o like nothing happened.
K-   Kiss: What does the character want their first kiss to be like with their s/o? How does it end up happening?
Luffy doesn’t really think things like this out. If an urge strikes him, he acts on that urge— simple as that. So, if he’s sitting there admiring his pretty s/o and thinks he wants to kiss them? He just plants one on them! His s/o will be shocked and maybe a little embarrassed, but he’ll just flash them a cheesy smile and say he just thought they were so amazing he couldn’t help it. Who can argue with that logic?
L-    Love Confession: How does this character first profess their love to their s/o?
Again, if Luffy has thought, Luffy acts on thought. The first time the idea that he loves his s/o comes to mind, he just blurts it right out. It can be in any situation— dinner, lounging around, even in the middle of a fight. He wants his s/o to know, and what’s the point in waiting?
M-  Marriage: How does this character view marriage? What is their ideal wedding like?
Don’t get me wrong; Luffy isn’t exactly opposed to marriage. However, it is definitely not at the forefront of his mind. He doesn’t understand the significance of tying the knot, for a really long time. Of course, he isn’t one to refuse his beloved, so if they broach the topic of getting married he will immediately agree. He doesn’t really have an ideal wedding in mind; as long as his s/o is happy, that’s all he wants.
N-   Nicknames: What does this character like to call their s/o?
Luffy gives all kinds of nicknames, but pet names are not something he uses, really. He calls his s/o either by their name, or whatever nickname he’s thought up for them. You won’t really hear “baby” or “sweetheart” from him— not because he doesn’t love his s/o, but pet names just aren’t really the way he expresses his affection.
O- On Cloud Nine: What is this character like when they’re in love? Is it obvious to others, or are they good at hiding it?
Luffy in love is actually pretty subtle, aside from the blatant love confessions. He’s huggy and affectionate with everyone he cares about, so the only real difference is that he shifts most of his efforts onto one person— his s/o— instead of distributing the love, so to speak, haha. Of course, his crewmates know him in and out so they definitely know when he’s caught feelings. In fact, Luffy will probably be the last to realize that what he is feeling is love, and someone will have to spell it out for him eventually, haha!
P- PDA: Does this character like PDA? If so, what kinds of things do they do in public to show off their s/o?
Oh, Luffy is one hundred percent into PDA. He is not shy with showing his affection, at all. He will hang all over his s/o, hold their hand, hug them randomly, and not bat an eye. He could be holding a full conversation— or his s/o could— and he’ll just plop right on them without batting an eye. The man loves to cuddle, what can I say?
Q- Quirks: What random traits or quirks does this character have that positively affect the relationship?
Luffy gives the best pep talks, forreals. If his s/o is sad, he knows just what to say to cheer them up, and it’s really just that he’s being honest instead of critically thinking about what best to say! It’s hard to be sad or upset around Luffy for long, because he will not rest until his s/o is back to smiling, even if it’s through tears.
R- Romance: Is this character a hopeless romantic, or a bit on the low-key side? Are they cliché when it comes to romantic gestures, or can they get a little bit creative?
Luffy doesn’t even really understand the concept of romance, LOL. It drives Sanji nuts. Luffy just does what he feels like. He sees a pretty flower he thinks his s/o may like? He picks it and gives it to them. He sees some food he wants to try? He brings his s/o along for the ride. Inadvertently, this leads to a lot of spontaneity in the relationship.
S- Secrets: Are there any secrets they hide from their s/o? If so, how do they deal with it when those secrets finally come out?
No secrets, especially from his s/o! Luffy is an open book. He doesn’t feel the need to hide anything or keep a part of himself secret, especially from the person he loves most.
T- Thrill: Does this character prefer routine in their relationship, or do they like to shake things up every once in a while?
Again, Luffy doesn’t necessarily think in these terms, but due to his personality, the relationship is anything but routine. His s/o will most definitely be swept up in whatever chaos Luffy is, for sure! And again, he acts on almost anything that pops into his brain. His s/o can definitely expect impromptu dates and surprise outings!
U- Understanding: Is this character level-headed and empathetic toward their partner, or do they sometimes have trouble figuring them out, which leads to some butting heads?
Honestly? It depends on his mood and the topic. There are sometimes that Luffy can totally understand his partner and offer guidance and assistance, and then there are other times that this poor fool just can’t articulate. Butting heads happens a fair bit, usually over things like Luffy’s reckless and rash decisions. Some things he just can’t understand, and he’s some kind of stubborn!
V- Value: How does this character value their relationship with their s/o? How does it hold in comparison to their goals, ambitions, etc.?
Luffy’s dream to become Pirate King comes first, for a very long time. Eventually, this dream will merge with the level of love he has for his s/o; he wants to achieve that dream not only for himself, now, but so his s/o will be proud of him. His relationship is still very important to him up until that point; his s/o is a nakama, after all, even if a special one.
W- Wild Card: Any random fluff headcanon that does not fall within the other categories!
Luffy loves head scratches. Please, give this boy some head scritches, and he will be putty in your hands! He loves to nap on his s/o’s lap with their hands weaving into his hair and massaging his scalp. He will be out like a light in mere minutes. He loves it.
X- XOXO: How does this character show affection?
As I’ve previously discussed, Luffy’s big love language is physical affection. He loves to hug, cuddle, kiss, and spider-monkey all over his s/o. It just comes so naturally to him and is the best way to show his love.
Y- Yearning: How does this character deal with time apart with their s/o?
Oh my God, Luffy is the biggest moper. He cannot handle a lot of time away from his s/o. It drives him mad. He isn’t worried, necessarily, because he knows his s/o can hold their own; he just misses them and is bored without them. It makes everyone miserable because he literally just flops around and whines to whoever is in earshot. As soon as his s/o returns, he sticks to them like glue until he’s had his fill of snugglin’ (which takes a looooong time).
Z- Zeal: Is this character willing to great lengths for their relationship? If so, how far, and how long does it take to get to this point?
Of course! This is Luffy we’re talking about, after all. Luffy would do anything for his s/o, whether that be face an army or venture into dangerous territory or even face the threat of death. He can’t bear losing anyone, but especially not his love. Luffy falls fast and hard, so his s/o has someone in their corner from pretty much day one.

lunami prompt: during a fight nami is hurt in a "normal" way (like a twisted ankle), idk how to evolve the story but maybe luffy helps her by giving her a piggyride?
Hello, dear anon! Sorry for the delay, but here it comes an oneshot. I hope you like it!
Another ambush, another clashing with the Marines in high seas and another ordinary day for Luffy to come back completely worn out and hurt. Really hurt. Bleeding. And every common human, being in its right mind, would decide to be bandaged and lie down to hopefully sleep and rest.
However, not Luffy. Never Luffy. The captain is no normal human being, he doesn’t abide by the rules. So instead of being fast asleep in the infirmary, the boy was right in front of her, full of bandages from head to toe, worried because she had a swollen ankle.
A fucking swollen ankle.
Dear God.
Nami sighed and said for the hundredth time, "Luffy, you don’t need to keep carrying me all the time. I said I’m fine."
But the captain was stubborn as a mule. "But Nami~! What if you fall because it’s hurting too much? WHAT IF YOU LOSE YOUR FEET??"
Luffy had a bigger imagination than all of them, but she wondered if he really believed in the nonsense he says sometimes. She grimaced and blinked, "Sometimes… sometimes I don’t know where you get these ideas from."
"You're not a doctor, you idiot. You don't know about these stuff", he gave her his usual childish pout, and Nami could only roll her eyes.
"Yeah, but neither do you. Anyway, stop with the piggyback ride. I can walk on my own."
Nami stood up and started walking away from him when suddenly a sharp pain pulsed on her ankle and she had to lean in the wall next to the stairs. She cursed because it hurt and because she could feel that victory smile on Luffy's face. She didn’t even need to turn around to see his crooked smile and his arched eyebrow.
The navigator sighed again for the two hundredth time and said with her back still turned, "Go on. Say 'I told you so'."
She stood still, waiting for him to say something or laugh at her, but nothing came. When she least expected, Luffy had scooped her in his arms and glanced at her with a big toothy smile. "Luffy, I told you not to—"
"You told me to stop with the piggyback ride. This is bridal style, Nami. Are you dumb?"
Bridal style?! How the hell he knows this?
"Dumb?! The nerve of you, you rubber man—!", Nami raised her fist to punch his face, but he dodged. Then, out of nowhere, his expression became serious and he whispered.
"You're too proud, Nami. I'm here to help. Don't you know that?"
Nami closed her eyes, inhaled his scent, touched the skin that wasn’t covered by any bandage, and spoke softly, "Luffy. I just twisted my ankle. It's not a big deal. Yes, it hurts when I walk but I want you to rest."
"But I'm worried about you", he whined.
The navigator knew why he was worried — he thought it was his fault that she got hurt. In the middle of all the chaos, Luffy had bumped into her and lost his balance; Nami just did what she could so they wouldn’t fall flat on the ground but in the process, well, she had sprained her ankle. No big deal at all. Why couldn't he understand that? It's nothing compared to the punch in the stomach Luffy received.
And it angers her to no end this selflessness he has sometimes. He should be in bed, resting, not being restless because of such a foolish thing. So she tried a different and softer approach.
“Luffy, I'm kinda tired. Wanna lie down with me? Guess Robin wouldn't mind.”
Anyone who would listen to such words would definitely scold her or give her a very disapproving look. An unmarried woman lying with a man? What a sin!
But Nami didn't care. She knew Luffy, she knew he harbored no romantic feelings for her and didn't have a single malicious bone in his body, so she had no reason to feel threatened. Or ashamed.
“Yeah! Let's go, Nami!”
At the exact moment the words fell out of her mouth, she knew Sanji would be coming in hot, jumping right at Luffy's jugular.
“You damned rubber man!! How dare you get into the bed of the beautiful Nami-san?!?!!”
Nami already raised her hands to stop him.
“It's alright, Sanji-kun. I'm really tired indeed.”
“But Nami-swaaan, he doesn't need to lie down with you!!”, Sanji whined and pouted. Then he had heart eyes again, “I can go with you!!”
Sometimes Nami didn't know where Sanji got the idea that she'd choose him if he insisted hard and long enough. She thought she was pretty obvious about how she was actually in love with Luffy for quite some time.
I mean, it's not like she has voiced that, but the navigator thought they'd have understood by now. Robin knew, that Nami was sure, but the crew has never said anything though.
She wondered if Luffy knew. Nah, probably not. It's not any of his interests.
A pity. She wished it was.
But no matter. Nami still liked what they had — this strong companionship, the undeniable loyalty, and trust. It was enough.
(Sometimes it wasn't, to be honest, but that were times when she was just being selfish).
“Well, but I want him to, but thanks for always worrying, Sanji-kun. C'mon Luffy, I really wanna—”, she stopped mid-sentence the moment she looked at Luffy with raised eyebrows and a gaping mouth. What? Did she say something wrong?
“Luffy?”
“Mhmm, sure, Nami”, he looked away and started walking towards the girl's room, with Nami on his arms.
She frowned and didn't know why he looked surprised. Maybe I did say something wrong.
“C'mon Luffy, come to bed”, she sighed and massaged her temples.
“Ahhh Nami~, I wanna watch more tv~!”, Luffy whined and glared at her.
“Luffy, come to bed right now. Don't make me go there and drag you by the hair.”
Luffy was right beside her in a lightning speed.
“Smart decision.”
Nami fetched another pillow, made room for him and covered the both of them. She found a position that wouldn’t hurt her ankle and then, helped Luffy settle down.
“Nami, why did you say you wanted me to come lie down with you?”, Luffy was looking at her with his funny owlish eyes.
“Why? Do you have a problem with that?”, he shook his head vigorously, “First it's because you make me feel safe and second because you need to rest, Luffy. You're human, you know?”
The captain nodded and brought Nami closer to his chest. Her heart skipped a beat and she caught her breath. His heart was beating at a regular pace and it was almost lulling her into sleep.
Nami realized what made her so pissed — she was worried sick about him, worried that someday he could get seriously injured because he was one of the most wanted (and hunted) men in the world and her beloved captain could be taken away from her because he was only human.
“Nami. I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere. I'm not leaving you guys. I'm not leaving you, stupid.”
His tone was final, there was no hint of doubt and it spoke of a promise. If he could keep that, the navigator had no idea, but she chose to believe in him. She had the knowledge that no one in this world is invincible, not even Luffy (or Zoro or Sanji), but she likes to think he was and will continue to be fucking hard to defeat.
“You know I don't go down that easily, you dumbass. I also have you guys to protect my back, so I'll be fine. We'll be fine”, his voice was low and kind.
She still finds amazing how Luffy's emotional perception of people around him was always on point. Especially with the crew, especially with her. Somehow, he knew her and knew what she needed. Like he was inside her mind, living in her brain and forever etched in her heart. She was in love with him (there was literally no doubt about that) and in love with their connection.
“Promise me, Luffy?”
“Yep.”
“How can you be so sure?”, she asked in her sleepy state.
“Because I wanna come home to you, shishishi.”
Suddenly, she was wide awake and raised her head to meet his eternal happy grin. Gosh, I fucking love you, stupid man in a straw hat.
She curled up more in his arms and grunted, “You better do, Monkey D. Luffy. Otherwise, I'll kill you myself.”
Nami felt him jerk, probably frightened, and she just smiled in his chest.
Please, always come home.

Never Say Never Say Never
Read on AO3            Support Me on Ko-Fi
Sabo misses one New Year's party and apparently he misses all the important family updates.
A lot of people wanted to know how Sabo felt about this dating thing, so here’s a quick one-shot of him finding out.
“Koala,” Sabo protested in a tone that was definitely not a whine, “I have to go. Do you know how much of a douche it’ll make me if I’m late to my own brother’s birthday dinner?”
Koala added another laptop charger to the bundle already in his arms. “No one in your family has ever been on time for anything. You’ll live.”
Sabo scowled at her, though it didn’t matter because she’d already gone back to rummaging around in the cabinets. “I thought deep cleans were supposed to be done in the spring.”
“It’s the new year, Sabo. I’ve put up with all of this garbage for too long. You said you’d help me clear it out, and now you’re going to.”
Sabo frowned down at the steadily growing pile of wires and cords and boxes and who knew what else that kept appearing from their apparently bottomless cabinets. “I didn’t think you meant on the first. It’s a holiday, you know.” He was not pouting.
“Only for white collar workers.” Koala reemerged and added several more cords to Sabo’s arms. “There. Finally. What, were they breeding in there?”
“They must have been. I don’t think we have a phone that goes with that one,” Sabo said, nodding vaguely to one of the charger cords.
Koala waved him off. “Go see which of those don’t work and then you can go.”
“I don’t remember you getting promoted over me, Koala.”
She raised an eyebrow and held eye contact with him for an impressively long time. Sabo could withstand one of her stares better than anyone else she knew. Sometimes he could even outlast her.
Not today though, apparently. “Alright, alright,” he said, surrendering. “What are you doing?”
She gestured at the main computer. “Clearing all the useless files off of this thing. So be glad I gave you the easy job, okay?”
Sabo stuck his tongue out at her and went to find an outlet to start testing the cords in.
It wasn’t too bad, once he started working at it. Half the cords could be tossed out without being tried; they were frayed or cracked or had tooth marks (from what, Sabo couldn’t even guess). A few were a pain, sending him on a wild goose chase for something to plug them into, but he was still done in under forty-five minutes, leaving him with plenty of time to meet Luffy and Ace at Sanji’s restaurant, as long as he got a decent cab driver. He'd mostly said he might be late in the hopes of convincing Koala to let him skip out on helping her clean.
“I’m leaving, Koala!” he shouted back into the store, front door already half open, not intending to give her a chance to find something else for him to do.
“I expect you to come in early tomorrow to help me finish!” she yelled back, and Sabo shut the door in a hurry, already planning to insist he’d been gone before she’d said it.
He loved his job, and he loved Koala, but he wasn’t going to spend one second more cleaning than he absolutely had to. That wasn’t why he’d joined up.
Knowing Koala would likely blow a gasket if she was bothered by someone who didn’t know how to read a CLOSED sign, Sabo locked the door behind him and made sure the sign announcing the store as DRAGON ELECTRONICS was turned off before turning to find a cab.
He’d probably have been more willing to help Koala clean if they’d been cleaning stuff up in the important parts of the store. Down in the basement - which was actually a much nicer workspace than the store above - shredding documents they no longer needed and couldn’t risk anyone finding, organizing files that had been left scattered across desks for far too long, or checking that the computers were still up to date and secure.
Sabo didn’t know how the electronics store itself, which was just a cover for an entirely different sort of business, could possibly have generated so much clutter in just a year. It rarely even got more than two customers in a day, though those customers had an uncanny ability to walk in at the worst possible times. Listening to people complain about their computers catching viruses from visiting sites they had no business visiting was a drag at the best of times; it was worse when they had ten minutes to get out of the building before their chance to get corrupt-rich-bastard-of-the-month taken down vanished.
Sabo shook his head to clear it. He had to be careful about thinking about work while outside of work, or he ran the risk of saying something he shouldn’t in front of Ace and Luffy - and once Luffy knew a secret it was only a matter of time before the word spread. He could be persuaded to keep his mouth shut if one could impress the seriousness of the secret on him, but Sabo would prefer to just avoid the problem altogether.
Ace, meanwhile, would probably burst a blood vessel if he ever found out that Sabo’s ‘boring IT desk job’ was a cover for what could generously be called a vigilante gig. His big brother instincts tended to only kick on in extreme situations, but Sabo was willing to bet committing felonies would be enough to set them off. And Ace would notice if Sabo let something slip that he hadn’t meant to, unlike Luffy, who could be easily distracted.
Sabo was just grateful that Garp rarely came up to visit for anything besides Christmas, maybe Thanksgiving, and a summer camping trip. He’d kick Sabo’s ass through half the city if he knew what Sabo really did for a paycheck.
So Sabo carefully but quickly, with the efficiency that came from years of practice, boxed up all of his thoughts about work that went beyond ‘Koala’s making me help her clean the store and it’s a nightmare’. By the time the cab stopped at the curve Sabo was fully back into the persona of ‘the best behaved brother’, a position he had worked hard to maintain. He would also argue he deserved it even with his job - he may have been breaking the most laws of the three of them, but he had better intentions than either of his ‘chaos storm’ brothers, as Dadan had used to call them. And everyone always said that he was the most polite.
Sabo entered the restaurant and made his way to the usual table, where Ace and Luffy were already sitting, Luffy staring towards the kitchen with laser focus.
“Look at you two, being on time for once,” Sabo teased with a grin.
Ace was frowning at Luffy rather than joining him in staring at the kitchen in anticipation, which struck Sabo as odd. All three of them tended to hyper-focus on food, and it was generally a bad sign when something could distract them from it.
“Marco gave us a ride,” Ace told him, still eyeing Luffy, tone distracted. “He had to come out this way anyway, to talk to Doma about one of the dogs.”
“So he dragged your asses out of the house kicking and screaming, I take it?”
Ace finally looked at him, grinning a little. “Luffy went kicking and screaming. I can be easily bribed.”
Sabo knew it. Marco didn’t seem to have a lot of interest in getting Ace to do much of anything most of the time, but when he was interested Ace rarely lasted more than a few minutes against him. Sabo figured that was probably a good thing - if Ace was allowed to run out the full gambit of his stubbornness his partner would probably murder him in cold blood. And he’d deserve it.
Sabo slid into the booth next to Ace, sidling up closer to his brother than he usually did. Being close to any of the three brothers during a meal was dangerous - every one of them had bitten at least one person who had gotten too close to their food over the course of their lives. Most often, it had been each other. Luffy was lucky to not have scars in the shape of Ace’s teeth marks.
But food hadn’t arrived yet, so Sabo was safe for a little while longer. And Luffy was thoroughly distracted by the prospect of dinner incoming, so he was unlikely to eavesdrop.
Not that Luffy was much good at eavesdropping anyway. Eavesdropping required at least a little bit of subtlety, and Luffy and subtle didn’t have so much as a passing acquaintanceship.
“What’s going on?” Sabo asked in a low voice, just loud enough for Ace to hear over all the background noise of the restaurant.
“Huh?”
Sabo rolled his eyes. “You’re looking at Luffy like he’s grown an extra head. What’d he do?” Sabo would have thought they were immune to Luffy’s oddities by now. Sabo had over a decade’s worth of exposure, and Ace had twice that. What could Luffy pull out of his hat that wasn’t some variation on something they’d seen a hundred times before?
Ace shook his head. “You are not going to believe this.”
There wasn’t much Sabo wasn’t ready and willing to believe in. “Try me.”
Ace shook his head harder. His expression was complicated - Ace’s expressions often were - but Sabo had had years and years to learn how to read them. There was fondness, exasperation, a little bit of annoyance, and a lot of disbelief. “Luffy’s dating someone.” He kept his voice low, so that Luffy - now chatting to one of the waiters who had made the mistake of passing too close to their table while collecting empty glasses - wouldn’t hear him, but the words seemed to burst out of him all the same.
Sabo raised an eyebrow. “Dating someone?” he repeated. That didn’t seem likely at all. Luffy had never once expressed an interest in dating. He was scornful of soulmate bonds, and beyond that he’d always seemed vaguely skeptical of the idea of romance or crushes. He’d certainly never showed any interest in trying it out for himself.
Ace nodded. “You remember that doctor with the gang tattoos?”
Sabo considered once more telling Ace that he was in no position to be judging other people’s tattoos, but decided it wasn’t really the time. “Yeah, the one whose dog we watched at Christmas, right?”
“That’s him.”
“What about him?” Sabo glanced at Luffy - if Sanji didn’t hurry up with dinner he was going to break into the kitchen - and back at Ace. “Luffy’s not…?”
“Yeah. Announced it last night. This morning. Whatever. At the party.”
Ace and Luffy had spent last night - New Year’s eve - at Whitebeard’s place, at one of their impressive parties. Sabo hadn’t gone, desperate to catch up on his sleep after a string of bad luck had nearly landed Hack in prison. And then he'd been nice and come in to help Koala with the cleanup from all that, and she'd tricked him into helping her clean up the literal mess of the storefront. See if he every volunteered to help her with something again.
“How long has that been going on?”
Ace shrugged one shoulder. “Not that long. At Christmas I - Luffy, where do you think you’re going?”
Luffy had sprung up from the table. “I’m gonna go find Sanji.”
There was no time to protest. Luffy could really move when he wanted to, even if he wasn’t actually running. He was halfway across the restaurant before Sabo or Ace had finished hearing what he’d said.
Ace waved him off. “He’s lucky he’s got a friend who’s a cook. Anyone else would have banned him ages ago.”
Sabo laughed. “Pretty sure he is banned from every restaurant between here and our place.”
“Probably. Anyway, as I was saying - I ran into the guy at Chopper’s birthday party. Law was getting fucking smashed at the bar, having a crisis about soulmates.” He looked at Sabo expectantly.
Sabo looked back, confused, for a few long seconds, and then his eyes widened. “Luffy’s that guy’s soulmate?” It shouldn’t have surprised him so badly, really. Just because Luffy didn’t have a soulmate didn’t mean anything about someone else having him for one. But it was still strange to even imagine.
It wasn’t personal towards Trafalgar Law. Sabo would have felt equally shocked no matter who Ace had said it was. With the possible exception of Zoro. Sabo could have believed Zoro had Luffy for a soulmate, he thought. But the idea of anyone else made his brain buck a little.
“Yeah. Not even two weeks after Trafalgar gets done telling me about how he can’t ever see himself dating his soulmate he’s sitting on our fucking couch holding Luffy’s hand, with Luffy’s damn name written on his arm.”
Sabo paused a second, distracted from the point. “It’s Luffy’s name? That’s his soulmate mark?”
“Yeah. So?”
“Nothing, it’s just…” Sabo laughed a little. “God, that’s so cliche.”
Ace smirked, and it broadened until he was laughing too. “Christ , I know, right? Poor guy. He said it didn’t start as Luffy’s name, but can you imagine going through life with something that boring for your soulmate mark and then that comes hurtling into your life?” When he said ‘that’ he gestured towards the kitchen, where Luffy was no doubt making a nuisance of himself.
The two of them laughed, trying to be quiet at first, then realizing Luffy wasn’t there to overhear and demand to know what was so funny, and they grew louder and louder until they were doubled over the table, clutching their sides and getting funny, judgmental looks from the other restaurant patrons.
Sabo recovered first, wheezing and hiccuping back to sanity in fits and bursts. “Okay, okay,” he managed, struggling not to start laughing all over again at the sight of Ace still giggling to himself. “Does Luffy at least seem happy with him?”
Ace shrugged. “Dude, it’s Luffy. He seems happy with everyone.”
That was a fair point. “Happy dating him. Like, Law’s not being I don’t know, weird about it? He’s not trying any shit about how Luffy has to do whatever he wants because he’s his soulmate?” It was hard to imagine Luffy allowing somebody to be a dick to him for any reason, soulmate mark included, but Sabo was his older brother. He was supposed to worry about things like that.
“Not that I saw.” Ace took a drink of water and reached for the table’s pitcher to refill his glass. “I don’t even know if Luffy knows they're soulmates.”
“Should we tell him?”
Ace shrugged again, but with a more serious look on his face this time. This was one of the things he’d been thinking about while he’d been staring at Luffy. “I don’t know. You’re better at this relationship crap. What do you think?”
“How am I the one who’s good at relationships? Apparently, I’m the only single one.”
Ace made a broad, vague gesture with one arm. “Not just dating. You’re better with people. It’s why you’re in retail.”
Sabo was nowhere near good enough with people to really be in retail, but he didn’t say so to Ace. “This just started last night?” he asked instead.
“Yeah, far as I know. And like I said, Trafalgar was having his life crisis at Christmas time, so it couldn’t have been much longer than that anyway.”
Sabo glanced back towards the kitchen. Luffy had reappeared, walking backwards, as though he had to guide Sanji to their table. “Let’s give him a couple of days. If he doesn’t tell Luffy about it, we’ll know he’s a bastard, and we’ll send his ass back to kingdom come.”
“And if he does tell Luffy?”
“Then we’ll play it by ear. Come on, this is Luffy we’re talking about. If Law pisses him off we’ll be able to hear him complaining about it from space.”
Luffy reached the table, Sanji and dinner in tow, and Sabo slid a safe distance away from his brother. It wasn’t surprising that Ace was so concerned. In addition to his - their whole family’s - complicated tangle of emotions regarding soulmate bonds, Ace just didn’t trust other people very easily, particularly not where his brothers were concerned. He was always worrying about the sort of people Luffy was hanging out with, if they were trustworthy, if they might take advantage of Luffy’s friendly, trusting nature.
Sabo worried about that sometimes, but mostly he tended to worry about what he considered to be more realistic concerns - like Luffy falling off a building while parkouring around town and splitting his head open on the concrete. Maybe dating a doctor would be for the best.
“So, Luffy,” Sabo said as the three of them began digging into their dinners. “I hear you have a boyfriend?”
Despite having his mouth full, Luffy grinned.

ok so I've been thinking (in a normal and not at all manic or obsessive way) about luffy and what motivates him as a human being and honestly, except for zoro, I think I can understand the motivation of all the strawhat crew, but luffy's is the most interesting because it's contagious.
luffy is described as someone incredibly selfish, but essentially kind, as long as that kindness benefits him in some way (as this post explains). but despite having this strong personality and this confidence in who he is and what he wants, he hasn't always been like this. I think these two traits come from an insecurity that was born with him, and this is his way of coping because he couldn't exist in any other way.
luffy often talks about his aversion to loneliness and his need to have friends and companions by his side, it's almost too on the nose?? like when he said:
"I don't want to become the pirate king alone. My friends are with me. I want to be surrounded by nakama that I can trust."
"No matter how strong I am, I can't win alone. That's why I need my nakama."
"If you can't find a companion with whom to share your dreams, it's better not to have any dreams at all."
"Loneliness is painful. That's why I need friends. To share my good and bad times."
"I don't just fight for my dreams. I fight so my friends can achieve theirs too."
It's obvious, luffy is afraid of being alone. as a child, he was (for a reason that hasn't been revealed yet) abandoned by his father, and therefore his grandfather had to raise him. garp was obviously busy (fuck him btw), so he left luffy in the care of dadan (love her best girl), which honestly was the best thing he could have done. Luffy was a determined and stubborn child, but not at all proud when it came to asking for the company of people he cared about. He insisted that shanks take him with him as a pirate, and then when he met sabo ace, he endured all sorts of situations as long as he had the chance to be with them. when he finally had the chance to start his dream as a pirate, the first thing he thought about was how many companions he wanted to have. not the boat, not the money, not the power. he wanted someone to share his dreams.
luffy values his friends more than anything else, including himself or his precious dreams. it's something interesting to note because someone who is essentially selfish wouldn't think this way. The two times he was in a vulnerable situation, when he doubted himself and his abilities, he was alone. And the only thing that prevented him from breaking down both times was the company of another person. jinbe saved him and so did law. and he loves them deeply because of it. we joke a lot about buy him a cheap meat and he will die for you but that is simply the truth. Luffy is extremely grateful to anyone who shows compassion towards him or someone he cares about, because he knows how much it hurts to be ignored and alone. this is why luffy clings to the bonds he builds based on experience and not just blood. Luffy showed no interest in meeting his father not because he is insensitive and distant, but because his father was never there for him.
This dependence on the people he loves can be an incredible weakness, but it's also an undeniable strength because the people he chooses to help or have around him would do everything they can to be worthy of that affection and that's why i think his love is not only contagious but mostly addictive.
luffy IS selfish. i need to correct myself. he does everything simply because he wants to and he doesn’t care how big of a mess he makes to get his way. but his way is always freedom and kindness and food for the hungry and water in parched lands and happiness for everyone around him. his selfishness is so inherently selfless that it feels wrong to call him selfish but he is undeniably selfish. it just so happens that he’s kind, too.

“You’re afraid to be happy” - Kakashi Hatake x Reader 1/2
Summary : Kakashi is in love with you...But pushes you away because he’s too afraid of loosing you, as every single persons he ever cared about died or left/betrayed him.
PART 2
My masterlists  @ella-ravenwood-archives.
Some more love for Kakashi, because I’ve been binge watching Naruto Shippuden and I’m kind of in love with him (also, I received requests for fics about Luffy and Zorro from One Piece, and characters from FMA and more Naruto, so expect to see more anime around here), hope you’ll like it ! :
__________________________________________________
Tumblr media
It wasn’t often, that the famous Copy Ninja, Kakashi Hatake, talked about his feelings. Hell, it was so rare some would say he never does.
But Yamato, one of his only remaining friend, knew better.
Sometimes, when they were both very drunk, they’d talk. They wouldn’t always remember what about, but they’d talk.
About their lives. What they like, don’t like, what make them happy, what brings them down...Your name often appears on Kakashi’s lips during those times.
Like today, or rather, tonight, while Kakashi helps Yamato to walk home. Or was it Yamato that helped Kakashi ? They were kind of slumped against each other’s, walking with difficulties, cheeks red because of the alcohol.
After the scarecrow pronounced your name for the tenth time that night, Yamato finally dared to ask :
-So, you love her ?
-Who ?
-Who could I talk about ?
-(Y/N) ?
Yamato nods. Or, tries to nod, because every movement that are a bit too vigorous makes him want to throw up.
-Yes I do.
-...I am confused, Kakashi-senpai.
-What are you confused about, Tenzou ?
-Don’t call me like that please.
-Don’t call me “senpai” then. What are you confused about ?
-Well, if you’re in love with her, and she is in love with you...why don’t you two just date ?
-Because if we do, she’ll die.
-...I’m even more confused now. Maybe I’m too drunk. Or you’re too drunk.
-I’m definitely drunk, but I can still think straight.
-I don’t get it. I don’t get you. She’s obviously madly in love with you ! And she’s beautiful, kind, caring, nice, extremely funny...
-I know all of that Yamato. But I can’t.
-But...Why ?
-Because everyone I ever loved either died or betrayed me that’s why ! She has to stay away, or something will happen ! It’s simple really !
There’s a moment of silence, as Kakashi lets go of Yamato out of annoyance...and, loosing the support that was allowing them to stand and walk, they both tumble, their body swaying dangerously, until they fall on the floor. Too drunk. Way too drunk.
The silence stretches, awkward. Kakashi is avoiding his friend’s gaze, because the effect of alcohol doubled with what he feels about you and how much he fears to loose you (so he can never have you) mixed together are making the tears welling up in his only visible eye. And he cannot let Yamato see, he can’t stand when people pity him...
Yamato looks at the man he considers his role model with sadness. He knew that Kakashi’s life had been hard, he knew what he went through, and he really did consider him his friend...So seeing him broken like that, well, it made him sad. Made his heart tightened.
He had to do something about it. Carefully, and still clumsy on his feet, Yamato stands back up and lend his senpai a hand.
-Come on Kakashi-sen...Kakashi. Let’s go home.
-You’re not insisting ?
-Why would I be insisting ?
-Usually, when we talk about (Y/N), you try to convince me for hours to...
-Listen, I get it. I understand your fears. You’re probably right.
-...I am ?
-Yes. You’re too dangerous for her to be around you. After all, she’s only an advanced ninja, one of the best jonin in the village, that constantly goes on dangerous missions and risks her life every day...She doesn’t need you to bring more hazard in her life.
-...I’m not sure I like your sarcastic drunk self.
-Just, come on. Let’s go home.
-So...You’re dropping the subject ?
-I’m dropping the subject. No need to force you. I won’t talk about it again.
Yamato definitely noticed the disappointed expression Kakashi made, even if it stayed just a fraction of second on his face. And he knew. He knew he had to do something for him and you. He knew that no, he would never drop the subject, not as long as he really tried to make things work.
Because everyone in the village knew it, you and the copy ninja were a match made in heaven. Hand-made for each others. Only, you both were too stubborn to realize it.
*******************
Finally. You were home. After six months on an important mission far away, you were back to Konoha. As you walked through the main gate, you couldn’t help but sigh in relief. Your body was littered with many scars you got on this particularly hard mission, and damn you were glad it was finally over.
Home. There wasn’t a place better than home. Besides, there were someone you misse...There were some people you missed.
You went back to your house to put away your stuff, take a good and long shower...and sleep for at least the next twenty four hours.
Yes. All you needed, was to relax. To let go of all the stress and fear for your life you had pent up inside you this past month.
You didn’t even bother to dry your hair, and fell asleep as soon as your head hit your pillow.
Your dreams were filled with a certain silver haired man...When you woke up, your heart was beating as if you were in his presence.
You felt so silly to feel that way when it was obvious he felt nothing for you...You hated yourself for not being able to think of any other men. The worst thing was, there were other men interested in you. Other great and decent men. But...you just couldn’t get over Kakashi. No matter what.
You were six years his junior, and was working under his commandment in the ANBUs a long time ago. That’s how you met him. Needless to say, instant crush. You just couldn’t help but like him. And he was so nice to you, nicer than with everyone else...no. This was wishful thinking. He was nice with everyone. And yet, whenever you had a “friendly non-date just hanging out”, he was never late. The man who was always late, was on time when he had to meet you. That meant something right ?
Plus, there was that time, before you left six months ago, when he came to bid his farewell, catching up with you and your team in the forrest as you left earlier than you were suppose to...He took you a bit away from your teammates, and told you to stay safe, because he couldn’t loose you. And he almost kiss you. His mask was down, his lips close to yours...but at the last second, he gave you an awkward peck on your cheek and left. How frustrating.
Maybe he just wasn't interested, but was too nice to say so, and so wanted you to feel happy so he acted like he was ? No, even a man as clueless and nonchalant as him knew this would be cruel.
With another sigh, you turn around in your bed, and fall back asleep, dreaming some more about the one and only Kakashi Hatake.
*******************
-Oh ! (Y/N)-chan ! You’re home !
You turn around, and a smile spread across your face. Maito Gai. That man as so weird, and was also one of your favorite people. When he was around, you were sure to have a good laugh. Besides, he was very sensitive, and knew how to listen.
-Hi Gai-kun. What’s up ?
-Surprisingly, not much since you left. Except maybe that Kakashi had been in a terrible mood since you left, and refused every single one of my challenges. I wonder if there’s any correlation between the two facts...
You blush and hit your friend on the shoulder.
-Coincidence. He probably just had a problem with...his team or something.
-If you say so (Y/N), if you say so.
He gives you a knowing look, and you can’t help but blush some more...but then, you realize that yes, it was probably just a coincidence, because why would he push you away that much if he was interested ? And your blushing face turned into a sad expression.
Gai looses his smile, and says, worried :
-Are you alright (Y/N) ?
-Yes. Yes don’t worry.
-Please, you know I’m always here to listen. Tell me if something is wrong, maybe I can help !
-No, believe me you can’t.
-We won’t know if you don’t tell me.
-For God’s sake Gai you can’t help ! It’s about Kakashi alright ? And unrequited love ! There’s nothing you can do about it ! Just drop it !
And on that note, you leave your friend, feeling a bit guilty to have snapped at him though he was always so nice with you...Besides, you hated talking about what you were feeling like that.
Gai looks at you leave, confused. Since when did Kakashi not love you back ? What did that idiot do so that you were thinking that ? He was so obviously head over heels with you...But oh, hey, here he was talking to you and...Leaving right away, after only exchanging a few words with you. What was going on ?
You were wrong, thinking Gai couldn’t help in any way.
****************
He was so cold toward you. He didn’t see you in six months, and all he said was a very unemotional “hey” and “I have to go, important things to do”, not even answering your question about how he was doing. You were wondering what you did wrong, because usually, even if he wasn’t romantically interested in you, he would be nice. Cordial. Your best friend. After long missions, you both would go eat something, or just hang out around the lake or something...But there, he just left and his tone was so harsh...What did you do ?
*****************
Kakashi felt guilty. So guilty. But he couldn’t help it, seeing you smiling and talking to Gai like that, made him...so angry. The way your fingers brushed his arm, how your hand touched him (though you were totally hitting him...)...It just drove him mad. You two were flirting ! And he just couldn’t stand that.
He would have to eventually though. Because he couldn’t have you. It was too dangerous. ...He just had to let you go. Cut all connection with you. Yes. That was probably the best idea.
*******************
Gai and Yamato were in the Jonin’s common room, sitting on a couch. They were the only one around. The youngest one said, with a deep sigh :
-Kakashi is such an idiot.
-I couldn’t agree more Yamato. I don’t get him.
-Right ? She’s right there, obviously wanting him, and he just...He doesn’t do anything !
-I understand him though. PTSD. He suffers greatly from it. He lost so much already.
-He doesn’t push us away, and we’re friends !
-It’s different. He likes us, of course. He would be sad if we died. But I think loosing (Y/N) would truly break him. Destroy him, even.
-Yeah, I get what you’re saying. It is true that, from what he said about her when he was drunk, he seemed to be genuinely in love. In too deep.
-Pushing her away and refusing to admit his feelings doesn’t help though. One day, she’ll have enough, move on, find another man, get married, have kids...and he would have loose her too.
-I think he doesn’t even wanna get attached.
-They’ve known each other for years. It’s too late, he’s already, like you said, in too deep.
-Yes but, the question is, how to convince him that he’s going to suffer just as much if he doesn’t try ?
-I have no idea.
-Me neither. Maybe we should talk about how (Y/N) is one of the best kunoichi in the village ? She can fends for herself, he won’t loose her that easily.
-Don’t you think he already knows ? I think he thinks he’s cursed or something...
-Oh, that complicates everything...
-Right ?
The voice of a certain copy ninja makes them jump :
-What are you two scheming about ?
The two men exchange an awkward look, before looking at Kakashi. Yamato, who had enough of his senpai’s nonchalant way and wanted him to be happy, bluntly said :
-We were talking about how afraid to be happy you were, and how you were destroying yourself, pushing (Y/N) away.
The murderous look that goes through Kakashi’s eye makes Yamato shiver (and he was the master of creepy faces). But the scarecrow does not do anything, he just stares at his two friends, and teleports himself elsewhere.
Gai and Yamato sigh. He was hopeless...
****************
Kakashi teleported himself in a tree not far away, and sat down on a branch, sighing deeply. He knew they were right. He really was in too deep. But he couldn’t risk it. He just couldn’t. He had to stay away from you.
******************
You left three weeks later for yet another highly important and dangerous mission, alone this time. It had to be very discreet.
Kakashi didn’t come to tell you goodbye, as he would usually do. He didn’t come to tell you his famous “stay safe”. In fact, you haven’t seen him since that cold encounter when you came back three weeks ago...And with a heavy heart, you left for your mission, not knowing when you’d come back.
Or if you’d ever come back.
******************
-WHERE IS SHE ?! WHERE IS SHE ?!
Kakashi was frantic. His heart felt like it was going to beat out of his chest, to be rip away from him.
Gai was the first to get to him, and try to hold him down as he kept asking where you were, screaming your name in Konoha’s hospital.
It took the mighty Gai, Yamato, Naruto, Sakura, Tsunade-sama and a few nurses to hold him down, to calm him, forcing sedative in his body.
His vision went black, and the last thought he had was : “Where is she ?”
*******************
You didn’t feel the sword piercing you. You didn’t feel the arms of an ally you made on the way wrapping around you. You certainly didn’t feel the trip back to your village, dangling between life and death.
Almost ten times your new friend thought you were gone...but you’d always come back. You were definitely a fighter. His light med-ninja skills also helped. He got you home, and later, would be heavily rewarded by Kakashi and the Konoha’s hokage, Tsunade Senju. You were a valuable member of the village, an important one even, they owed him.
Kakashi, especially, would be forever indebted to him. Because that stranger, that man you knew since only two days, saved the life of the love of his life.
You had that effect on people. Your natural aura made them want to help, to trust you...which is why that man you barely knew saved you. A miracle really.
**********************
You opened your eyes, and for a few minutes, was confused as to why everything was so bright, why everything was so painful...and then you saw him. His head was laying on the side of your bed, and he was sitting in an uncomfortable hospital chair.
Hospital chair ? So that’s where you were. A hospital. And if Kakashi was there, then you were back home. Home. No place like home. Even if you were in the hospital...Flashback of how you almost died, of your travel back to Konoha surged toward you.  Oh. Right. You almost died...
You shifted in your bed, and let out a cry of pain. God your belly hurt so much...of course, that where a sword fucking pierced you. Where did it even come from ? You guessed it didn’t matter anymore...
Your small cry woke Kakashi up in an instant, and, at first a little confused as to where he was, he turned to you and his face lit up.
His mask. He wasn’t wearing his mask. That was new...Before you could speak, his lips crashed on yours, and you were to stunned to respond. The kiss was short anyway. And so soft, you almost thought you dreamt it.
-Hi.
You said in a hoarse voice, your throat hurting because it was completely dry.
-Hi.
He answered awkwardly, before continuing:
-Sorry about that. Did I hurt you ?
-No. Not at all.
Silence. Not awkward. You just stare at each other curiously. Finally, you say :
-...You’re confusing me Kakashi.
-Uh ?
-I said you’re confusing.
-...Why ?
-Because...Because you decide to not talk to me ever again, all of a sudden, without any explanation, and now...you kiss me. Without explanation either.
-...Sorry.
-Don’t be. Just...Well, don’t be so daft and explain.
-Oh. Hum. Yeah. Right.
He tumbles on his words a lot. He often doesn’t know how to explain what he feels, but he ends up, with great difficulties, telling you everything.
From the impact his father’s suicide had on him, to the pain of loosing every single one of his friends, every people he ever cared about...Minato-sensei, Obito, Rin...The betrayals he had to go through, the loneliness. His fear to be happy again, just for that happiness to be taken away. Because with you, he was really happy. He felt like he was innocent and pure again. Like he didn’t go through all those traumatisms. Like he was whole again.
He was afraid to be happy, and to loose everything again. To loose you. So he thought that it’d be easier for you to hate him...it took him a long time though, to finally do it. To try and make you hate him. It took him years. Because before, he wasn’t strong enough. You were his only ray of sunshine...but he’d rather be lonely forever, than for you to die because he was cursed and...At some point, you shut him up with a kiss. It’s ok. You understood. You always has really, not having had an easy life either. With a smile, feeling his hands cupping your cheek lovingly, you say :
-So..I had to almost die to convince you eh ?
He chuckles lowly, of that deep and sexy chuckle you like so much, and answers :
-I guess sometimes, I can be a little...”daft”.
-Dense.
-That too. I...I love you (Y/N). I’m sorry it took me so long to realize it. I’m sorry I wasted so many years pushing you away. I’m sorry I only just understood that I would never truly be happy without you in my life, as more than a friend. And most of all, I’m sorry I’m putting your life in danger, just by loving you so much...
-Kakashi. My love. You’re not cursed. Hell, it’s when you pushed me truly away, when you cut all ties, when you stopped talking to me, that I almost died. Doesn’t that mean something ?
-Uh ?
-Well, yeah. It’s once you exited my life, that, for the first time in years, I was truly in danger. In my book, it means that you’re my lucky charms, and that you’re not cursed. At all.
His heart misses multiple beats. He never even thought about that. It’s true that, since he knew you, you escaped certain death multiple times with just a few scratches...Could it be ? Could it be that you were so made for each others that you’d be the only one not affected by his curse ? He feels a smile creeping on his face, and is unable to stop it.
The smile you give him (damn you loved this little beauty mark under his lips) made his heart flutter, and with a voice buried in emotions, he says :
-I love you (Y/N). I’m sorr...
-Stop being sorry. I love you too. Now that you realized you were acting like an idiot, things will be alright. Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere.
-Please. Don’t. I love you. I can’t...I can’t loose you.
-You won’t loose me. As long as you’re with me. My lucky charm. My lovely, sweet, cute and always late lucky charm.
Your lips on his are the sweetest thing he ever tasted, and he wonders how he could have had resisted you all this years.
He kisses you back. Fiercely. And with a last “I love you”, you drag him in your bed, and fall in each other’s arms (him making sure to not hurt you...he would never hurt you anymore).
FIN. It’s “meh”. Sorry. I just love Kakashi, I wanted to write something with him...So maybe I rushed the writing a bit too much. And some scenes go too fast and blahblahblah meh.
