It's time for another message from Antioch Answers and what you need to know is this: Be wary of people coming with messages. Except us, of course, we're vetted.

Talking about who might be behind the Tinder Man murder has died down without any arrests and the police are still being notoriously tight-lipped about it (note: maybe we should look into that), which means it's back to talking about the living. Seems like our local cult has been all the rage lately, with Dante Hernandez being overheard talking about it with government officials. While investigated numerous times, the Stellar Society has always been out of reach for the police, but maybe they're about to fall back to Earth. If anyone goes sniffing around their home, they know exactly who to blame for it.

Not that John Weaver seems nervous about it, he's been seen all over town and even gained a few new followers, like newcomer Piper Caldwell, who hasn't even been here a year. But you know what's more interesting than an eccentric preacher luring young women over to his side? The fact he's been seen talking to his estranged son, now that makes you think. Are they really estranged? Or is it all some ploy where Alan Weaver finds the susceptible with his floppy haired ways and sends them along to daddy dearest. Only time can tell.

But if you want someone to give you a false sense of understanding about your place in the world, go check out Emine Duraz. She's been handing out fifty cent fortunes where she flips a card and then tricks you into telling her what it means with a well placed question or two. Don't be fooled by her wide eyes, she's making you do all work and just repeating things back with different words, not offering you cosmic understanding. He hates Alaska, so at least this town has to have something going for it, so he’ll just try to keep his head down and not focus on the murders. And the cannibals. And the cult. And maybe whatever freaky bullshit this town throws at him.

Dante Hernandez. Dante Hernandez. Luke's lips twitched soundlessly with repetition as he pushed past the doors into Saint Peters, purpose quickening his step. He knew showing up unannounced was a risky first impression, but ever since he'd learned about Dante's consultant work on the Antioch murder cases, Luke was determined to get his foot in the door for an audience...perhaps even literally, if that's what it took.

He approached the reception desk with urgency, laying both hands on the counter and leaning onto it as if saving time would save his daughter. "Excuse me, where can I find Dr. Hernandez?" Luke asked the person sitting there, just loud enough to be overheard, praying that he caught the doctor on his shift.

It was a truth universally acknowledged that a man in possession of two jobs was in great need of a drink, or whatever it was that Austen said. Sighing and unwrapping a scarf around his neck as he walked in, some internal compass automatically directed Gim to an empty stool at the bar that of course had to be next to the grumpiest looking man there. "What's wrong, is the beer flat again? You can make a nice mosquito repellent with flat beer, you know, just gotta cook it up with some mouth wash and bath salts."

It'd been four months since Gael had been assigned to Antioch, Oregon and why was he just now realizing that someone else, someone that he had known for a while now, had been there? Was it him, was he just not paying attention? Nah, it couldn't have been that. It had to have something else, more obtuse and removing the blame from him. [Even though it's likely your fault.]

Dante Hernandez was probably a busy guy - he'd always been a hard-ass, professional but with a stick wedged up where it didn't need to be. The rapport Gael had formed with him during their interactions was fun (at least to him), if sporadic and inconsistent. Their meetings, not their rapport. Importantly, though, Dante wasn't part of the government anymore, at least not that Gael had remembered, so that naturally led to a shift in the dynamic. What that shift was, he didn't know yet because as previously mentioned, no one told him that Dante was also in town.

Time to bug him!

"Holaaaa," Gael hummed as he knocked on the thick door that supposedly led to the guy. "I'm looking for one Dante Garcia?" He called, not waiting for an answer as he opened it, dark eyes glancing around the room with evident curiosity. "Snarky, facial hair?"
