Story time for little Travis

I think Travis would've had a veryyyy skewed perception of humanity that wasn't explored enough in canon

He was a half-demon, trained by his human mother to protect the islanders from his own father. Not only did the villagers cast him out anyway, Travis was made to feel that was a reasonable judgement to make about him.

I think he would be far too trusting of humans, as he wouldn't be able to correctly judge their intentions. On the flip side of that, he'd be overly skeptical of non-humans because that's who he was taught to be wary of (and him not being fully human plays a part in that as well).

And then he gets to Ru'aun, a place with all sortttsss of people, and boom identity crisis. Thank you 🙌

In my mcd rewrite Dante is 16 as he's a freshly trained guard and the rest of them are all in their mid thirties roughly - given Garroth and Laurance are both head guards at that point and that takes years to gain that role (though I guess that's actually arguable because both of Laurance's dad's were Lords but I digress). Most of the other head guards are of middle age so I believe it's realistic for them to be mid thirties. Aphmau is also in her mid thirties just to bring closeness to the age with her potential love interests (cough, zoey, cough)

SO IMAGINE. Garroth and Laurance see Dante and they're just like, oh my god it's our child. I can imagine Laurance sat with Dante in their living quarters talking about how to woo the ladies like he did Lady Aphmau, obviously. Or Garroth teaching him fighting tricks that aren't taught in guard academy. Dante learnt to adapt them to his katanas and even 15 years later he still uses them. Basically them two giving Dante the family he lost, and giving him a new family. They know he's a guard and has responsibilities, but off duty they just let him *be a kid*. They don't know the details, they don't have ti know. All they do know is that this kid that has suddenly joined their little village and he has had a bad past, and they want to rectify what he didn't have.

Dante confides in Aphmau about anything and everything, truly seeing her as his big sister. Aphmau sees him as her little brother, and despite it being his job to protect her, any visitor who comes to Phoenix Drop who whispers about Dante is getting a mouthful and potentially being kicked out of the village because "What do you mean I can't do that Garroth? It's my village!" Aphmau also confides in him about falling for Zoey, and Dante absolutely acts as a wingman, being that suave younger brother he is having tea with Zoey, thinking he's so slick by going 'so, what do you think about Lady Aphmau?' But Zoey is centuries old, she knows every trick in the book and she caught on RIGHT AWAY. Though she did decide to humour him because she could appreciate his efforts.

Garroth and Laurance sneak around because they're scared that Dante won't be happy if he found out they are more than best friends. But eventually they find out he always knew and then they decide they're changing their roles to his dads because now they can act like a married couple and make dad jokes, which Dante *despises*

Basically they are all each others found family in times where they've lost their own, and they will always cherish the memories they shared. Domestic Fluff is something I loved in minecraft diaries and I wanted to develop that a bit more. Their bonds with everyone were so complex but not really shown much so its my sworn duty to claim that role.
