an incredibly important part of the lost fandom ecosystem is the incredible diversity of opinions I think. I don't think I've ever seen a fandom where every single person had such different experiences of the work like this. it's special to me

walt headcanons I have thought of so hard I forget they're not Canon

-after the island walt had to go to therapy like. alot. he's on meds and such, too

-he kept contact with hurley consistently and sun always sends him a gift for his birthday (mostly money) so does hurley. kate and jack only do contact him to say birthday/christmas greetings and some gifts.

-became a big drive shaft fan outside the island. their music is also a lowkey coping mechanism for him related to the bitter memories he had of the island

-he forgave michael about the shooting but it took time. after he learned it was to get him back, he rebuilt his relationship with his father and they began again.

-goes to private school. went to a public one, but being an oceanic 815 passenger, he got bullied too harshly about it

-the growth spurt was due to The Island and it's effects on children. it's a medical mystery to this day that doctors diagnose as anything other, but juliet did check up on him and studied this growth spurt Alot. juliet also became close with walt.

-hes always, and forever connected to that damned island! he might not be there, but he can feel when something is wrong, he gets headaches, he gets an strange ache in his chest and some visions.

-he got another lab after having to leave vincent on the island. still, when sun and jack came back they were the first ones to tell walt that vincent was being taken care of by the others he knew stayed on the island.

oh yes totally, jack's issues are still pretty much intact in s6. my post was more like: if you tell me i'd be a great parent and i think i won't , i'd say that. but if u ask me that and i have indeed raised a child i think i'd at least say "well, i've actually tried and i still think i'm pretty bad".

like, ykwim? raising a kid is not something you can't really NOT bring up in a convo about kids nor it's something you can just forget about lol. all the more so if u consider that he's talking with hurley and hurley knows about the "lie" and who aaron is (aka not kate's son) etc so there is no need to omit these things.

so that dialogue really struck me as either odd or the writers forgot about jack and aaron's relationship (be it good or not so good it still existed). and it kinda saddens me a little :"( cause it means that we won't ever get Jack's comment on his experience as a caregiver.

dont quote me on this but i've just rememberee that in "lighthouse" jack says something like "i would make a terrible father" and EXCUSE ME AARON ERASURE??? You've been a parental figure to that kid for at least 2 years? what was going on when they wrote that? am i hallucinating? see?? this is what i mean when I say that aaron and kate's storyline is just bad, so bad the writers themselves forgot about it!!

You would think that Claire and Kate would have had a timid sweet beginning to their relationship. And you'd be correct. You would be incorrect if you assumed that their relationship stayed timid and sweet. Claire literally went feral for 3 years, you don't think that her and Kate would be doing the kinkiest shit as quietly as they could with Aaron in the next room? You're wrong, youre dead wrong.
