a bit of a dream dump

heres a couple of dreams i had n the past couple nites.

thursday

i was running around the conagher slaughterhouse (i was completely unaware of any1 watchign me), and i suddenly felt frozen. i looked over 2 see maynard staring at me confused, meanwhile i was just standing still as 2 not alert him any further. he ended up walking away as if nuthn happened, BUUTTT it doesnt end there.

i walked around in circlez stimming and wutnott, and i looked back only 4 my heart 2 stop 4 a second as i stood almost completely still, as i stared at zed (yea i felt screwed). i passed out abt a minute later with pink ALL OVER MY FACE (yea. i was embarrased 4 lettign myself b spotted by himm). i woke up confuzzled abt wut happend, and zed had the AUDACITY 2 actuallly ask me if i LIKED him (ofc i said yes obvi).

i woke up back at home in a cold sweat thinkign "wut dafauq just happend???.." i hav no idea wut it was supposed 2 mean, but it was odd.

i woke up, back at the conagher slaughterhouse. i was thinking "oh god how is this gunna go?.??...." but i still walked around, albeit moar cautious (i was NOTT gona make that mistake againg). i saw maynard and zed talking abt sumthn. i was planingg 2 eavsdrop a bit closer buuutttttt the STUPID PHONE had 2 ring up, and i quickly hid under the desk (it was the 1 thing that was closest 2 me). i was trying so hard not 2 make any noise.

i overheard them talking 2 dell or sumthn. i was very silent, and iwas terrified of gettign caught by them. i "acidentally" let out a tiny af sqeak, and heard nothinhg but silence. i was annxious abt tthe fact that they mightve heard me. they seemed 2 shrugh it off but that was a damn lie, cuz zed saw me down there, staring off in2 the void like area. he got my atentionn by dragging me out frum under the desk and in2 HIS FUCKING ARMS (my face went fully pink in a panik). i was confuzzled and passed out frum a single kiss. yep. he acttuallly kissed me and i liked it :)

i woke up n a "panik kalm PANIK" type state, cunfuzzlzllzed abt y i liked that dream sm. i rmembrr thinkkighn "wut dafauq just happend and y do i like it????......."

Team Fortress 2 is like greek mythology to me. Like yes the characters have certain immutable characteristics but also there are so many equally valid interpretations of them. They can exist in any form because they are rich with personality. They can be extremely serious or extremely silly, both feel true to me. Overtime is canon. Emesis Blue is canon. Unusual Troubles is canon. Team Fabulous 2 is canon. Anything Winglet is canon. They're all video game characters but they're also not. The lore is real but not all the time and the fanwork is more original stuff with an unoriginal background. You can do anything with them and it feels right. If I got abducted by aliens and Heavy was there I'd probably say oh hey Heavy or oh shit it's Heavy TF2! Scout is a gamer. It doesn't matter that the game takes place before the invention and popularity of video games, Scout is a gamer. And the heavy is dead.

alright so.

saw that post of things in tf2 lore that people get wrong, made by @/solid-white (not tagging them because i simply dont want to bother them) and wanted to ramble about the engineer's eyes part where it says that he has green eyes and not blue as everyone headcanon him to have, i actually did a little research through the fanmade models + official content AND while we're on it and actually talking about it, i want to add some information to all that

im obviously not saying that solid white is wrong anywhere, they actually pointed out several interesting details about the lore and attention to details is what i really love about any kind of community, again, im just saying that im here to add some info.

so first of all (and the most obvious part) is that the actual engineer model doesn't have any eyes under the goggles, valve model makers simply sculpted him with his goggles stuck to his face. and i found a fanmade model of his face without the goggles! its made by poltergauss on steam, it also was used for maynard's eyeless face model in emesis blue as you might know!

moving on, i wanna talk about the fanmade models with eyes(im pointing out the fanmade part because it'll be important a bit later in the post), first one is called enhanced engineer by maxxy on steam (i think that's that one person who made the embargo map?? i'll double check that later), this model was used most often for the sfms n other stuff, also it was used for meet the engineer without goggles by hellhounds04. that engie originally has blue eyes

and the model with green eyes that solid white used in their post... well i couldn't find the author of that one really, its either argie702 tf2c mod on gamebanana OR gintoki sakata on gamebanana or someone else, i suppose the actual creator of the model is somewhere on gamebanana too, there are plenty of models there and i just couldn't find anything. this model has green eyes as mentioned above

and now the interesting part about the canon engie, as you remember, in the true meaning comic he has no goggles and here i have absolutely no clue about the eyes, of course its the environmental factors like the fireplace in the dark room + unique shading and colouring style of the comic artist that makes it harder to understand the exact colour of the eyes, so im not sure about that, it seems like the artist didnt want us to know engie's actual eye colour, maybe in the seventh comic dell will appear without goggles, who knows...

summing up, his eye colour is a mess. like honestly, no idea. but anyway its awesome to see people draw him with any eyes different from blue, what im saying is that there's no canon colour until we get the answer from the comic (and all hail headcanons) + huge shoutout to solid white again, im glad they talked about it first and made me able to put my "um ackshually☝️🤓" in it

also if im wrong in any part about the model creators credit or in any other detail, you're always welcome to point this out for me, im still curious about who made the green eyed engie model, and as i was saying i just wanted to share this research with you. thanks for reading!

Honestly, I never gave much though to the blu team (sorry blu team) so I had to sit down and do some thinking and prep for this. I mean, who are the blus? Clones? Coincidentally very similar-looking people? Whichever interpretation you like, I though it’d be fun to try to give blu scout some backstory, which would mirror that of red scout. Basically a similar setup/different outcome & similar behaviour/different reason for it kinda situation, with blu scout’s backstory being a darker/less positive (more maladaptive??) take on what this could be (Lil Pootis and Emesis Blue are pretty much semi-canon to me at this point :p).

Here are some notes on how it could look + some other stuff.

It's actually kind of bizarre seeing Emesis Blue (a film I have not seen, probably will not see any time in the near future, so zip it) enter this heightened plane of tf2 fan content that some people basically treat like it's Basically Canon (like people thinking the names used in that movie are automatically the names of the tf2 guys. A great mark of a new fan is someone who thinks Medic's name is canonically "Fritz"), when really from everything I can tell it's kind of its own thing LMAO. Thanks to Emesis Blue; to me, BLU Soldier and RED Soldier are two completely different people.

BLU Soldier's name is John (Joe) Dane. He has a real name, and this is it. He actually went to WWII. His lead poisoning isn't nearly as bad as the RED Soldier's. He's that slightest amount more sane than RED Soldier. He still isn't that high up on the intelligence spectrum, but he at least knows how to identify boundaries (somewhat) and knows not to overstep them (again, somewhat. I wouldn't trust him with your keys.)

RED Soldier's name is Jane Doe. He based his name on Joe Dane's, but kinda just flipped around the letters. He thinks it's funny. Joe does not. He shares most of the canon universe's traits. He never fought in the war, but he sure thinks he did. His lead poisoning is so bad, no one knows how he's even alive.

Don't trust Jane Doe with your address, let alone your house keys. He will steal all of your food. He will find a way.
