In which Rook is almost done wandering around and a few things become clear:

(Despite not having much of an opinion on most of Veilguard's soundtrack - although I really like some tracks - I LOVE the music in this scene).

So this was - in some ways - worse than it was on the first run because I knew it was coming the whole time (and poor Rook, of course, did not).

I think Rook started to (unwillingly) put the pieces together after seeing the Varric statue and hearing him talking in the Fade ("He's not here. Of course he's not") and it was easier to face Bellara and Harding first.

The statues and other architecture of the ritual site rebuilding itself as Rook walks towards it is so cool.

The end result of that was Solas stabbing him, unfortunately.

I think my logic for picking Harding at the ritual was "I don't want Neve to get hurt on this run because this is the worldstate where things go well for Neve" but ow at Rook yelling for Harding specifically here to help with Varric.

(As a sidenote - it's lovely that any changes done with Rook with the mirror are reflected in this flashback.)

Varric yanking the dagger out of his own chest, ooof (which explains why it's suddenly on the ground in the intro).

Rook crawling over to Varric after getting knocked back hard against the column (and I am not surprised Varric being dead apparently does not register, given that Rook is clearly not all there).

Poor Harding (who must have had a time hauling her half-conscious human friend out of there since he's like a head taller than her) and Poor Neve (who had to haul Varric out of there).

(I really appreciate the long moment in here for Rook - and the player - to process this before the dialogue choice pops up and also THIS IS SO SAD).

(I fiddled with picking a different option here than last time but nope, gotta go with the "my friend is dead" paraphrase again. Daylen is going to be very angry about this but that doesn't kick in until a little later).

Rook: You died, back at the ritual site. Rook: You've been dead all along.

hey jsyk while hellofresh is dummy expensive and i wouldn’t recommend it if you already know how to cook (if you’re a beginner like i was when i had it for 3 months, then it’s worth it), you should know that ALL OF THEIR RECIPES are free on their website and they all fuck hard

i will say that all the cooking instructions for veggies are pretty much the same (season with salt + pepper and roast on the top oven rack at 425F), but if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

that being said, it also introduced me to methods i wasn’t at all expecting. i would have never thought to use cream cheese in my meat sauce, and now all my friends are constantly asking me to make my special rigatoni.
