Considering the latest comic page, would it be fair to say post-influence Jax flinches or has a panic attack every time post-Ragatha gets too close to his personal space? I think its also likely he resents Pomni for giving the doll redemption instead of killing her. Will this conflict ever get resolved or touched upon? Jax seems like the glaring red flag after the horrific events conclude in your AU judging by his exclusion from the group once he's "back to normal".
pretty much yeah . he's more scared of her than angry , but jax being jax he covers up that fear with aggression because he would rather be shot dead than be vulnerable
i'm not entirely sure what you mean by second question ... if it's something , jax Wouldn't ever get over his fear and hatred . i think it's one of those holes that cannot be fixed . jax to me seems like the type of person that'll hold a grudge to his grave , and ragatha has Greatly wronged him .
a lot of post-fluence is up for interpretation so no firm answers beyond that . i like to think that he eventually lets go of that anger though . not because he forgives ragatha but because he Does Not like the space she takes up in his mind
#>>MISC;#>>POST-FLUENCE;#i recognize that the dude's circumstances are tragic but it's difficult to make it turn around without making him ooc#... and i think jax is interesting when he's Not ooc ...

Few headcanons to be made clear!!
She's not a kid person, the only exceptions are Bucket and Ariah (only relevant to the blog)
Pomni is biromantic demisexual. But currently identifies as queer, she hasn't figured herself out yet :]
she's transfem !!
Pomni doesn't hate anyone, she may strongly dislike people, but in the end she'd still help people. They're all stuck in here together. (except p!gangle.)
Pomni's favourite animals are rabbits. (not connected to Jax./srs )

Some rules(and boundaries) to be aware of!
No nsfw at ALL! we're a family friendly establishment!!
Absolutely NO bigotry is allowed! (so no racism, sexism, LGBTQ-phobia, etc.)
Ships are allowed! You can mention them! (except pomni may not give your preferred response... so be warned.) The main ship here is JesterDoll, but I also ship funnybunny so little implications may be made/joked about by me. :] Does she like Jax? you'll never know...

NO HATE TO MARISSA but I am also starting to get exhausted with her Ribbun obsession. It’s not the fact that she likes it. It’s the fact that she seems to make everything about Jax and Gangle related to shipping. I remember there was one time in a live where she had to sign an autograph titled “Ribbun BDSM” and was trying to catch Michael’s attention towards it. He slightly shook his head but wasn’t really interested in it, not providing the reaction she wanted. She looked a bit put off by it but gladly got the right idea.
However, I wasn’t aware that she wanted him to tag along with her in a Ribbun server too, even if he was a bit uncomfortable with it. I’m glad she’s a Ribbun shipper and all but Michael doesn’t have to participate in shipping tease if he doesn’t want to. Out of all of the VAs, he’s probably the most put off by shipping discourse. I think this not only stems from his bad experiences at cons and online about shipping but from his friendship with Goose. This connection has Michael know about his charact the most, possibly fearing the idea of leading fans on with OOC moments. He’s still up for ship moments with his castmates but attempts to avoid it because of the fanbase’s own good.
Amanda also does the same thing when it comes to their ships. However, it’s to a way lesser extent, fortunately. They participate in ship teasing the most out of anyone. However, they do it every once in a while. They mostly reblog shipping fanarts and comment on them! Though one thing I am scared of is their extreme support of headcanons. I don’t want people to get the wrong idea of Ragatha or her VA if it ever get debunked by Goose (ex: Ragatha being a lesbian, Ragatha being in love with Pomni/Jax, etc).
I don’t want Amanda nor Marissa to get backlash because of their excessive shipping support. I know they are just having fun but you know how fandoms are. Have fun, go ahead, ship them hard! Just don’t raise the fandom’s hopes too high if that isn’t in Goose’s plans 👍.
Completly agree!
Supporting headcanons and ships too hard can make the fandom too hopeful, and Will make them feel entitled over the Canon material in case something they dont like happens, and unfortunately the person who will get blamed is gooseworx, even thought that was never her intention.
About Michael and Marissa i cant say much, Im sure They are friends and If he joined in is cause he wanted to. But yeah due to him being more close to Goose, he is more aware about how she feels about the mega mischaracterization of her characters and fandom toxicity, Thats why hes more carefull

Ragatha x mute s/o headcanons pls? I love her so much ToT she's so sweet
Ragatha x mute!reader
UEUEUEUE I wasnt expecting to get TADC requests but I am all for it! Perhaps I should make an official post to advertise requests being open, feed into this new interest of mine.. mweheheheh
Side note! I'm writing this on mobile, so there may be more typos and grammar mistakes than my recent stuff (which has been done on computer)
I simply
Do not wanna get out of bed, it's very cold in my house <\\3
That said I hope you enjoy! Possible OOC since I'm still studying characters and trying to figure out how I wish to write/interpret them!
+ some other hcs since the post felt too short with the simple base idea
Right off the back with the main idea that helped push me to answer this now rather than later; ragatha would definitely learn sign language so she can understand you, if you find sign language to be easier/more convenient ! If not she always keeps a pen and paper on her in case you need it/forget your own notebook
Immediately welcomes you to the circus, similar to in the pilot she would show you around and explain the general way of things in the digital circus
Advocates for you when others (mostly Jax) speak over you (ignoring your signing, your writing, ect) or dont pay attention to you in a conversations
She doesnt try to force you to speak, nor does she pry for why you're mute
Generally very sweet and patient and stands up for you in group settings and makes you people pay attention to your input
No thoughts only you two cuddling in one of yalls rooms and you start pressing signs into her skin, communicating that you love her or that shes pretty or that you're enjoying being around her , stuff like that. I think that's sweet, like how some people trace a finger over someones freckles or moles during cuddles
Now onto more general hcs and ideas
I saw a ferris wheel at the digital carnival. You already know what I'm about to say: THE FERRIS WHEEL GETTING STUCK TROPE. Ragatha tries to keep the air nice and light while you guys wait for Caine to fix the issue. Afterall, she ain't afraid of anything but centipedes!
Speaking of, you're not afraid of centipedes, are you? Borrowing this from random things #7, where I mention an idea of the reader helping rid her room of the wretched things, that can be a surprisingly nice bonding moment with you two just talking and you letting her vent her frustrations
You two naturally gravitate to one another when Caine has everyone do a game or challenge or whatever he has planned for that day

@paindealt asked.... (aka the MK Kommunity Rambler)
Honestly YESSSS. That's what I love about Sub-Zero and Scorpion, and just Mortal Kombat characters. Is that they're IRONIC, and they have things about them that intentionally contradicts what character they're supposed to be. And that? Makes them feel more realistic imo. With a lot of characters in medias, they tend to fit one role/mold (like the stoic one, or the angry one, the funny one etc etc) which makes them feel one dimensional. But not the MK kast. Not only what we just talked about.
Raiden is another fine example. Like, he's this wise mentor character -- yet he FUCKS UP so badly. In fact, lots of people blame Raiden for the key problems in the series. Like Earthrealm's defender, yet he led characters' to their deaths, technically tried to sell their souls, became a "bad" (or "dark") for a little bit. Like Raiden is that wise old guy, but he's far from perfect, and even his wisdom is of no help. And I just find that very interesting about the kast & why I love them so.
The Mortal Kombat characters just SURPRISE you. And not in an ooc/bad writing sort of way. They're like REAL PEOPLE, and not only do they have a lot of history -- but you find out things about them you wouldn't expect. And it's why the MK games are my FAVORITE fighting series, just because the series really aced their characters and they're so good.
Like Kuai for example... when we see him older, it feels like he's actually aged. His younger self seemed more emotional, more liable to do something impulsive without thinking. (Example; going to straight on kill Scorpion for his brother without considering the circumstances). And then we see older Kuai and how much he's matured, how much wiser he became, and overall a man of peace. Yet... he STILL feels like the Kuai Liang we know. They did an amazing job with realistically aging Kuai up.
Same with Johnny and his younger self. And I know I'm rambling now. But MK just does an AMAZING job with its characters and I am impressed by it. Yes, there are still some ooc stuff, or they didn't do a character justice... (such as the death of Hanzo). But for the most part, they're good at writing realistic & interesting characters and except for a select few (mostly from the ps2/3d games era) I honestly adore all the characters.
I love that they’re both ICONIC and IRONIC, and despite their supernatural abilities and exceedingly and excruciatingly tragic lives, I believe they are two of the most relatable and characters who one can sympathize with the most. I called it their duality, but also, it’s their complexity and humanness that initially intrigued me to nab Hanzo Hasashi/Scorpion and Kuai Liang/Sub-Zero as my dual-muses (obviously)!
To begin, the premise of my blog’s creation (based on the word cathexis, which means THE CONCENTRATION OF MENTAL ENERGY ON one particular person, idea, or object (ESPECIALLY TO AN UNHEALTHY DEGREE - which I headcanoned here). Basically, it has to do with Hanzo’s most woeful tragedy that only has brought him a vicissitude od descension; with the loss of his life, his family and his clan, he has lost self-control, governance, freedom and humanity. By accepting the hubbed hell and excruciating suffering by letting himself be forged in hellfire, Scorpion not only lengthened his life (if he were to simply accept his fate without vengeance, then Hanzo Hasashi obviously would have not existed ever), he found the sole, one-track mind to seek out the one who annihilated his life to charcoal dust and exact revenge, to cause equally excruciating suffering against anyone who had been complicit in his clan’s demise (most notably Bi-Han, Quan Chi, Shinnok and Sektor, amongst the others who are subordinates under them).
Despite Scorpion’s motive being immoral and wrong, I cannot help but to let it justified, because he too, is inwardly and outwardly suffering through his own hubbed hell and chaos and insanity. Through anger, there’s an associated sorrow and suffering and through vengeance, there’s self-destruction and emptiness that’s so humanly relatable and connect to. It’s also the universal idea that the concept of self-sustenance and familial love is what serves as the foundation of anyone’s fueled desire, responsibilities and duties.
Through his suffering, depression and PTSD that continue to haunt him, despite taking more than two decades to free himself from the shackle of the past and let Harumi and Satoshi’s death become the fuel for his fiery passion to protect the Earthrealm at all the cost and regain his humanity and redeem himself, Hanzo’s redemption arc is essentially what drove me towards Mortal Kombat and especially MK11. It is a poignant, emotionally-changing makeover of an individual who literally has gone through hell and back, to be killed multiple times only to be resurrected and come back even more stronger, and gradually purified towards the good side with his solemn vow becoming evermore stronger. I especially like the fact that the franchise’s quintessential antihero got a huge transformation, to serve the side of good for seemingly the first time, without wrath and revenge, only to meet the most noblest death one can suffer through the all (through the allegory of retelling of The Scorpion and The Frog).
Kuai Liang is one of those people who you immediately feel sympathetic for; he’s your quintessential good guy who has also suffered so many hardships, yet the stacked experiences of the past has only made him kinder and wiser; he IS perhaps the most miserable character (next to Hanzo) in my opinion.
His clan (or most of it anyway) gets forcefully converted under Cyber Initiative. And that's after Kuai Liang rebuild it piece by piece, to add insult to injury.
His protégé Frost absolutely hates his guts, betrays him, cyberizes herself and even leads the new Cyber Initiative that perverts everything his Lin Kuei vision stands for. He's obviously hurt by it too, as seen in one of his intros ("Was I such a bad mentor?").
His friend Cyrax has to be put down literally right after he's freed from the cyber mainframe.
His other friend Smoke is trapped in Netherrealm according to Noob Saibot (Bi-Han) who taunts him with his.
According to his Story Ending, his biggest wish is to redeem his brother which is quite obviously not happening anytime soon without the Hourglass and in the main story line.
From many of his intros it seems that as a Grandmaster, he lives a lonely life. He straight up tells Cetrion that "love gets in the way" and both Jax and Johnny note that he doesn't socialize much outside of his Lin Kuei duties.
He makes peace with Hanzo and both become respected equals and brothers in arms. Hanzo then gets promptly killed by D'Vorah and Kuai Liang is understandably upset about it ("This is for Hanzo" intro with D'vorah).
In a lot of his intros with Jade, he constantly badgers her to join the Lin Kuei and she always refuses (funnily enough, in her intro with Scorpion she's more than eager to prove she can join the Shirai Ryu, despite not being from Earthrealm).
He keeps getting his ass whooped in almost all trailers or promotional videos.
Add on top all he had to endure throughout MK9 and the MKX comics (forcefully cyberized, killed by Sindel, then painfully "remade" again into a Revenant, gets tainted by the Kamidogu dagger, Scorpion almost kills him etc.).
Sub-Zero deserves major respect. He’s been through all this, and wasn’t seduced by Kronika’s promise of a new era and still remains resilient and headstrong and a beacon of hope in Raiden’s army against the Keeper of time.
I obviously concentrated on Hanzo and Kuai, because I love them much more than the other MK rosters (obviously), but I definitely agree that Netherrealm Studios has done such an amazing job not only fleshing out their characters and giving them relatable growth and development, but different facets of their characters that become so intriguing and contradicting in a sense. Hanzo could be stern, hot-headed and intimidating outward, yet he’s perceptive, astute and compassionate to those who deserve his trust, loyalty and love. Kuai is your ever-stoic, phlegmatic individual who hides all of his pain and suffering inward, yet he’s so open about his philosophies and is able to crack ice puns or partaking in pranks, etc. They’re so multifaceted and the possibilities are endless, which makes them two of the most amazing characters.
TL:DR; I FUCKING LOVE THEM SM.
#✗ the ineffable testimony of spawned hellfire (scorpion)#✗ bone-deep chill of despair (sub-zero)#✗ breathing iron and rust (outofkombat)#(take this morning ramble)#paindealt

// Also I love RPing Jax because he’s the opposite of me in so, so many ways and that makes him interesting to RP out. Ok he’s opposite to me in nearly every way except we’re both polite.
He’s cold, emotionless, manipulative, speaks formally and he’s dominant and sex obsessed and I’m lmao opposite... Which makes him so fun and interesting? I mean the only things we have in common are a two (2!!!) disorders. Like writing disorders is interesting within respect of them of course though durr, this doesn’t make up much of my RP. Still, sometimes I gotta think on what he would do in situations ‘cause I can’t go off my own experiences since we’re not the same and I can’t go off my own issues really cause we’re different there too (exception: the two we share). It’s just fun to think how somebody else would react but it’s almost like second nature now as I’ve got him so planned out in my head. Makes it.. not... too hard... to RP him though what is hard is when he would hurt someone and OOC I’m liek NOOOOOOOOO and wanna cry cause I know how the other char may react in negativity lmao (For example he would stab character X and OOC I wanna cry cause X is precious???).
Anyway ramble over. Just remember this ass is nothing like me ahahaah... ha...
Ps. I’m all weird so RP is slow... So. Have my ramble.

I completely agree with you that the only Sara relationship the show cares about is with Ava, that's one of the reasons why that ship doesn't sit right with me. almost all Sara's screen time and plotlines have been exclusively with or about Ava. Sara is the heart and center of this show. Rip is the original founder of the team. no he's not perfect but what they've done with him this season is hideously ooc. they've ruined his character and made Sara only there as a love interest, all for Ava.
I don’t know that they’ve “ruined” Rip, really. I mean, I don’t LIKE the direction that they’ve taken him. But Rip’s always been a very flawed and very dynamic character. I think there’s a lot to explore here and a lot of ways that he can grow from this point.
I’m skeptical that the show has any intention of actually exploring this, but well, there you go.
I remain entirely perplexed about what the show is doing with Sara though. She’s leading the team, which is good! But they don’t seem to be very consistent about her abilities as Captain. She was a great Captain in season 2, but they haven’t done a very good job of showcasing her as Captain in season 3. She seems to have far less interest in managing the crew. She doesn’t seem to be willing to try to control them. She barely seems to interact with any of them.
She’s spent multiple episodes sidelined. She seemed far more interested in proving the Bureau wrong than in genuinely fixing time aberrations early on, and even now that she understands how much of a threat Mallus is, she seems to be holding onto grudges more than collaborating.
Ava and Sara have every right to be angry at Rip, but why the hell haven’t they once sat down with the man and asked him what he knows after five years of preparing to fight an enemy that they didn’t know existed?!
And we’re not getting to see her react to anything that’s happened: Martin is dead. Does she miss him? Mourn him? Jax is gone. How does Sara feel about that? Zari was pretty unhappy on the team and then got psychologically tortured by Gideon? Does Sara know? Is she remotely concerned? Ray is captured, without anyone noticed, tortured yet again. Does Sara feel guilty for not noticing? Has she checked up on him? Amaya is going through one hell of a timeline crisis, has Sara even noticed? Has she talked to her since the pirate thing? Does she even know Kuasa is dead?
Also, when did Sara get so comfortable mind-wiping people that she’s willing to go to young Barack Obama, spill her guts, and then flash his mind yet again? Couldn’t she confide in ANY of the crew? Was there a point to that scene besides having Obama talk up how great Sara is?
I’d be okay with any of this if I thought it actually had a point and might be explored. Is the pressure of leadership getting to her? Is she feeling isolated? Does she feel like she’s now the authority figure and her friends are no longer able to confide in her and vice versa like they used to?
Sara used to be the person who talked to everyone and tried to hold them together...now, there’s none of that.
And I’m sorry, but I can’t help but notice that we’ve had episode after episode of people saying how great Sara is as a Captain, including Barack Obama, but very little opportunity for Sara to actually show it.
Last year, it meant something when Ulysses S. Grant praised her as a Captain. When Rip confided that she was better than he ever was. This season, it’s like compulsory per episode. And while I’m glad for Sara fans that they get this recognition after years of Sara being underappreciated, I’m annoyed that the show seems to think that this is enough to make up for the fact that Sara hasn’t really had much opportunity to shine.
Where is Sara’s plot? Where is Sara’s angst? Why does Laurel only come up when Sara wants to nod sagely at Zari’s pain? Why is Quentin not worth even a mention? Why got to see a child version of Ray, so why not Sara? We got to see a young version of Mick’s dad, why not Quentin or Dinah? The death totem was the closest thing Sara had to a real plot, and while it looked like Caity Lotz had a good time, I’m not sure what it really did for SARA.
I don’t hate Ava, and I don’t really mind Avalance, but I resent that Sara seems to have gotten nothing else out of this season. She’s the lead of the show, supposedly, they should be treating her like it.

I wonder what Gemma stans mean when they say she always owned her shit??I see them give that as a reason to love her”she knew who she was and she always owned her shit” unlike Tara who according to them secretly wanted to be Gemma but didn’t dare to admit it😒They confuse me so much lol imo one of Gemma’s character traits if that she never owned her shit, she always tried to spin thing to look as if she was doing them for the greater good or bc she didn’t have a choice,I mean s7 plot is all about Gemma NOT owning her shit😐Oh my god! What was the purpose of Brooke?she had a conversation with Jax in s6 and in s7 she was there to hold poor Thomas and to talk to Wendy about club life?Maybe I’m alone on this but I don’t think Rat/Brooke were a parallel to J/T but to show again those guys were assholes to women always,I think J/T were a bit different, like Jax was about to leave the club for her when they were younger because he loved her and I don’t think he was banging random croweaters when they were in HS🤷♀️Ugh I hate how nonchalant Jax was when they met at Diosa, like he thought it was funny Rat was cheating on Brooke?🤮😩
I completely agree and that’s something that has always confused me too! Like when have Gemma ever owned her shit, I need receipts Gemma stans 🤨?? She constantly denied who she was and twisted things in order to justify her shitty actions. Yes!! Gemma always thought what she was doing was for the greater good or it was for her family 🙄. Honestly sometimes I think she was a pathological liar. It’s funny because I’ve always talked about how I like characters who were pieces of shit that knew they were pieces of shit. Like I have some respect for those characters and they’re always kind interesting. That’s honestly the big difference between Gemma and Clay! Like Clay was a huge piece of shit, but he knew it and never justified his actions. He knew what he was doing was wrong or for selfish and he never lied to himself 🤷♀️. Brooke was absolutely ridiculous, like she was only introduced for the Homeless Lady ghost storyline! It still blows my mind that Sutter really tried to pull a supernatual arc in a biker drama 🤣. She was another built in babysitter, just like Wendy. You’re definitely not alone! Some people tried saying that they were a J/T parallel and it just doesn’t fit. There was history between J/T, they were together before Jax was even a member. I don’t think he ever cheated on Tara in HS either, they were so in love and they wanted to be around each other all the time. How OOC is that of Jax too? Like remember when he was actually protective of Brooke, now Rat cheating is a joke to him? Also Rat was a huge asshole in general, which sucks because I did kind of like him before S7. Like when he screamed at her in the kitchen? Like bro who are you talking to like that??

I've finally caught up on LoT, (except the Ava robot episode because my TV failed to record it) and sadly it was mostly disappointing.
- The way they tried to make Damien Darkh sympathetic was absolute bullshit. No Country for Old Dads was an especially frustrating waste of time. Sure, many of the lines were funny, but that’s where it should’ve ended, instead of getting serious and spending so much time on development and humanization for villains when the majority of the main characters have gotten close to nothing all season.
And then it only went further downhill, with the whole oh let's all weep sad sad tears for this Nazi collaborator who fed his daughter to a demon because now he feels real sad about being too dumb to realise that maybe feeding her to a demon wouldn't be very good for her.
There have been times that I've found him entertaining/a good villain, but he has thoroughly worn out his welcome. If they just hadn't overused him, he could still be an enjoyable villain, but no. There is absolutely nothing left for the character, they have beaten that dead horse into a bloody pulp. If he comes back again oh my fucking god I will lose my damn mind.
- I also hated that Ray let Nora escape at the end of the finale. Yeah, she's not as bad as her dad and maybe she could be redeemed, but that doesn't mean you can just casually help her escape from prison just because you really really really hope that she won't keep killing people. The writers need to Stop making Ray such a dopey, buffoonish caricature. He should've grown up somewhat by now.
- Everything with Ava/Sara was just a giant WTF as always. Even if I didn't hate Ava, and the way she's nuked Sara's character progression this season, I'd still think it was ridiculously poor writing that she went from hating Sara to 'loving' her in only a few episodes with zero build up. Honestly, even if she'd gone from neutral to loving Sara with only a few episodes build-up, it would have been too rushed.
-Speaking of zero build-up, the Zari/Jonah Hex thing was weird too. This show sure does love it's badly written, out of the blue, shoe-horned in romances. Hopefully the Zari/Hex thing was a one-off joke, never to be referenced again.
- I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I've always thought Nate/Amaya was the least badly-written romance on the show, and I'm glad they got some closure, and I’m especially glad that Nate's awful, sexist behaviour in the first few eps of this season seems to have been an anomalous moment of terrible writing and he went back to acting normal for the rest of the season.
- I'm cautiously optimistic about the news that Maisie will still be a cast member in season 4. Of course it could all go horribly wrong, but hopefully whoever she plays will be more Harry, less HR in terms of successful same actor/different character scenarios. On one hand, I'm very glad she's sticking around in some capacity, on the other hand, if they fricken do something to ruin Amaya, i.e. bring in some annoying or evil version of her, or have some timeline change that ruins her life, especially after she got a reasonably well-concluded story arc and respectful sendoff, I will be furious.
- I don’t have much of an opinion on Wally. Aside from his first episode with Rip (which I loved), he didn’t get enough focus for me to really make up my mind whether his addition to Legends is going well or not. (Unless of course there was more focus on him in the episode I haven’t seen yet.) Assuming he’s still on Legends next season, I hope they’ll do something interesting with him.
It’s been pointed out before of course, but I will add my agreement that his referring to Amaya as a basic bitch was OOC badly written nonsense. Even if he was supposed to be quoting Nate, which I don’t really think he was, it still was just weird and jarring. That said, I don’t think it’s unrecoverable from. As long as they don’t make a habit of giving him lines like that, I’m still thinking he’s better off on Legends than Flash, because you could practically forget he existed on Flash half the time after season 2. On the other hand, he may suffer from the same problem all over again, that he’ll need to be taken out early all the time and just basically never do anything much so the plot can work. That’s the unavoidable problem with overpowered characters.
- I've heard that apparently it's not absolutely confirmed that Jax's departure was Franz Drameh’s choice. If not, then it's absolute bullshit that they'd write him out so unceremoniously. Literally what the flying fuck was the point of making his arc in the first half of the season learning how to be on the team if he's not part of Firestorm, if they were just going to have him decide to leave anyway? If the actor wanted to leave, sure, fine, whatcha gonna do? but if not... I'm having trouble thinking of a reason besides racism for treating a character and actor so poorly.
- Rip's death felt very lazy and cheap as well. It left me with a very strong sense that the writers just decided in 0.2 seconds that they couldn't think of anything else to do with him so why not just throw him out? At the very least, his big Heroic Sacrifice should have been the climax of the penultimate episode, not just 'shrug idk how do we fill up five minutes of airtime plus get rid of a character we're sick of? oh hey, Rip could blow himself up!'
I never overly liked Rip, especially in the first season I found him incredibly boring, but he still deserved better than a stupid death like that, and I’m sadder than I thought I would be. Still, out of everyone who’s been there since season 1, if someone had to go, I’m glad it wasn’t anyone else. Other than Mick, of course.
-The time that was wasted on a rat funeral, which, like several of the funny scenes in No Country for Old Dads, would have been fine if it wasn’t for the fact that they were taking up space that should have been used for character development for the mains and respectful goodbyes for those that have died/left.
- One of the few things I absolutely loved was the Beebo vs Mallus fight. It was one of those hilariously wacky fun things the show does well, how could anyone not appreciate the glorious ridiculousness of the big showdown of the finale be between Discount Furby and Discount Balrog? But it was bittersweet because it was just a reminder of how unfortunate it is that the show can be so fun, but also fuck some things up so badly.
The John Noble bit was hilariously amazing as well. Also, I did not know he played Denethor until now. Didn’t recognize him because of the wig, I guess.
I’m... not sure what I thought of Grodd trying to kill Obama. It was just too odd to process properly.
-The less said about Mick the better. I just don’t know why he’s still there when he hasn’t done anything except complain about being on the team and make bigoted jokes in a season and a half.

(theo james, 34, cis male, sorcerer) Blimey! Is that (JACKSON ‘JAX’ HARPER)? (HE) is the (CAPTAIN) on the Cursed Serpent and has been onboard the ship for (TEN YEARS). Legend has it they are (INQUISITIVE & TENACIOUS), but don’t get on their bad side, because I hear they’re (QUICK-TEMPERED & OBSESSIVE). Aye! Stop staring! (JAX) has their (FLINTLOCK PISTOL) out! (ooc: marie, est, 24, she/her, no triggers)
THE CURSED SERPENT
Jax first encountered pirates while working at a port in a British acquired territory. As someone who was always looking for a way to gain wealth, he took a special interest in them. Eventually, Jax convinced one crew that he could be useful to them as a deck hand.
They were all semi-suspicious of his intentions and kept a close watch on him, which made it difficult for Jax to do any magic. Their suspicions grew tiring, and Jax didn’t feel any loyalty to the crew because of it.
About a year into his voyages with that crew, they were raided by the Cursed Serpent. To save himself, Jax cast a protective spell and hid away in the crew’s quarters. Once the fighting stopped, he revealed himself to the raiders and begged to join them. They spared his life gave him a chance to prove himself.
Captain Bradway took a liking to him, and eventually, Jax became his right hand man. After learning about the crew’s true mission, Jax revealed that he was a sorcerer to Bradway, but did not inform the rest of the crew.
He and Bradway sorted through legend and rumors to find concrete evidence regarding the location of the Jewels. Unfortunately, Bradway was killed before they could act on their research.
Bradway was a father figure to Jax. Jax was deeply loyal to the man and was absolutely devastated by his death.
Jax was slightly surprised when he was elected Captain, but not displeased. He loves the group like a family and would gladly lay down his life for any of them. However, if the crew’s loyalties shifted, Jax isn’t sure how he would handle it. The lure of power is strong, and Jax isn’t willing to give it up.
SECRET
When he was 16, Jax stole his family’s grimoire and fled his hometown. His mother, his only immediate family, rarely used magic, even to give them a better life. Jax did not understand her over the top secrecy and believed he would put the grimoire to better use. About a year ago, through his research into the lost Jewels, Jax discovered that he is a direct descendant of the estranged sorcerer. Now, he wonders if his mother was knew this and was ashamed of her magic because of it. He wants to go back and question her, but he doesn’t know how to do that without letting the entire crew knew what he is.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
RIGHT HAND: The person Jax trusts the most on the ship. They can be a newer recruit or someone who has been on the ship for a long time. Jax goes to them whenever he needs a job done right, and he believes this person will always tell him the truth. Whether or not this person is truly loyal to Jax or they are just playing a game to lure Jax into a false sense of security is something we can plot!
DIFFERENCE OF OPINION: Someone who thinks Jax is too obsessed with the Jewels and needs to split his focus between the Jewels and lucrative adventures. This person can be excited about the Jewels, but they should be concerned that Jax’s single-mindedness will lead to them all going broke.
MISTAKE: Before he was Captain, Jax had no qualms about casually sleeping with the women aboard the ship. This was not a good plan. These two caught feelings for one another, but Jax was hardly the loyal type, and a huge fight ensued. They’re forced to be civil (most the time) in front of the rest of the crew, but they’re vicious when they’re alone. She could even be one of the few who challenges his authority!
ANYTHING ELSE
Eventually, I would like the rest of the crew to find out what Jax is that he is a descendant of the estranged sorcerer, but it’s something I want to build up to!

Mo’ Superman TAS, Mo’ Problems
SSeason 2
1-2: Blasts From The Past
Ugh... that’s the best title they could come up with for their season premiere?
One of the quirks of the DC Universe, in all its frequently crappy forms, is that in addition to there being seven Zods, there are about twenty evil Kryptonian characters that amount to being the Zod, Non, and Ursa from the Donner movies. This holds true as late as Supergirl, where Non, of all people, showed up as a Not!Zod. Here, Zod is Jax-Ur and Ursa/Faora is Mala (just to make things even more convoluted, this is the name of a male Kryptonian in the comics).
This arc has the novel twist that instead of a Phantom Zone criminal being released by misfortune, Superman realizes that Mala’s sentence is up and paroles her. Things quickly go amiss when she realizes he’s in love with Lois instead of her--given that Clark and Lois aren’t officially in a relationship, is it not a bit creepy that he chooses to obsess over her from afar instead of pursuing a relationship with an interested woman like Lana or, yeah, Mala? Maybe he heard about the gender-swapping thing and just isn’t into that. Mala releases her old CO, Jax-Ur, and they go at it.
3: The Promethean
Superman fights a kaiju.
4: Speed Demons
Wally West! Yes, it’s not Michael Rosenbaum, but still! And him being something of an obnoxious jerk here, but more of a sweetheart by the time of JL is actually in keeping with his comic book character arc. Man, it’s crazy how just... not obsessed with the Silver Age DC was at the time. The Flash and Green Lantern show up and they’re just Wally West and Kyle Rayner, that’s it. Kyle even gets the first human GL origin story instead of being a legacy hero. I don’t think DC would ever let one of their properties get away with that these days. And wasn’t ‘the Flash’ in Smallville actually Bart Allen? Jesus.
5: Livewire
Livewire was supposed to be the breakout character of Superman, the same way Harley Quinn was for Batman, but I think that actually turned out being Mercy Graves. Livewire just... she’s okay. The shock jock thing had to have been instantly dated and it’s hard to buy there being a rabid fanbase for an anti-Superman radio personality right smack dab in the middle of Metropolis. Plus, Lori Petty just isn’t as strong a performer as Arleen Sorkin. Her Livewire is just too one-note and even grating in comparison to Harley’s rich and well-rounded personality. What did Supergirl end up reinventing her as? Some kind of mean anti-feminist because women who make fun of other women are evil unless they’re Cat Grant? Ehhh.
6: Identity Crisis
Bizarro shows up as a flawed clone of Superman, named by a somewhat OOC Mercy Grant. Also, your childhood is ruined as you realize that Bizarro was as smart and heroic as Superman for a good while, before suffering the equivalent of severe brain damage. Superman, stop, you’re beating up a disabled man!
7: Target
Lois Lane gets a stalker. Seriously, stalkers, of all the people you could stalk, Superman’s beau? The baddie in question is Edward Lytener, who naturally becomes the evil light-themed Luminus. By his second appearance, he was reduced to the Mysterio chic of creating ‘hard light’ holograms of pirate ships and Old West bars to fight Superman in, so no wonder this guy never made it to the comics.
8: Mxyzpixilated
Great episode. Mxy shows up to essentially be the Coyote to Superman’s Roadrunner, with Superman getting to be cold as shit in sending Mxy back within a minute basically every time they match wits. Good to see Big Blue getting his Sherlock on.
9: Action Figures
Metallo again. He has amnesia. It doesn’t last. Was Metallo the most common supervillain Superman faced, besides the technicality of Lex Luthor? He comes across like the Shocker to Superman’s 90s Spidey.
youtube
10: Double Dose
Livewire again, and she teams up with Parasite. I wonder if they were trying to recreate the Joker/Harley relationship on some level. Basically, Parasite wants to fuck/rape Livewire, but she won’t let him unless he kills Superman. Cracked Presents: Top Five Times Your Childhood Was Raped And You Didn’t Even Know It.
11: Solar Power
That Luminus again. When will he ever learn? He doesn’t even care about Lois anymore, he just wants revenge against Superman, which kills any interest his character might’ve had.
12: Brave New Metropolis
Yes, even TAS did the ‘Lois dead = evil Superman’ story. Here, Superman teams up with Luthor despite knowing he was a scoundrel from literally day one, but at least Lex was lying to him about just how bad their dictatorship was, so Supes didn’t break that bad.
13: Monkey Fun
You ever think that if Superman were real, he’d be like “guys, can we quit obsessing over that time I fought a giant monkey? I have lots of other villains that I fight!” Now I demand that Titano appear on Supergirl. I want to see the writers try to turn him into a metaphor for the perils of online dating or something. Shut up and take my money!
14: Ghost In The Machine
Sort of a character episode for Mercy. Here, she was an orphan plucked from the streets rather than the Amazon she was implied to be in the comics, which is a seriously weird canon wrinkle that I think might’ve been entirely thrown down the memory hole. And that Brainiac is back, forcing Lex to build him a new body.

hello friends here are my thoughts on rvb 15.10 / obviously major spoiler discussion under the cut.
- wash and carolina ?? held hands ??? that was so cute and tbh i don’t mind whatever road that may take us down. i’m down for carwash siblings, i’m down for a possible romantic involvement, and ngl i’m down for just platonic friendship here. they’ve known each other for god knows how long, it’s perfectly reasonable for them to have developed a close bond like that over the years.
- it is interesting how wash was comfortable with his real name being said out loud --- maybe their close bond makes carolina an exception ?? or maybe he’s just matured on his own since everything went down ?? both could make sense here. either way, it’s nice to see him coming to terms with that little bit of trauma.
- I loved the way Illinois was tied in ;; not a close friend, but a friend of a friend, and a friend of york’s nonetheless. that picture was cute, but that whole speech about letting the past go, etc etc. seemed a bit foreshadow-y to me ( and again, it’s so nice to see wash accepting his past, learning to move on, etc. ).
- can we all just acknowledge how goddamn evil temple & co. is ?? i still can’t believe the sim troopers & lina and wash just didn’t notice when he almost called their place a lair. no side eyes, no weird glances to each other, nothing. that seems a little weird to me. maybe not ooc, maybe there’s some plot there we just haven’t seen yet, but it did seem pretty off.
- ... what’s even more strange is how wash and lina were in front of temple when he was “showing them around”. lina, who aimed a gun at dylan when they first met and wash, who’s never been the most trusting of new faces --- and then the pair just being silent and letting temple monologue. how many times did felix try to monologue and they fought back ?? I would think, after all they’ve been through, they wouldn’t be so, pardon the joke, frozen.
- I know the top tier PFL team probably wasn’t super close to the lower levels of freelancers, but could you imagine the fucking fear here ?? these people, their old friends, are dead. and they will be, too, if they don’t figure something out soon. I still don’t like how quiet and reserved they were when temple was explaining everything, but like I said, maybe there’s some plot point there that we just don’t know yet. that seems to be the running theme of this season.
- there’s a lot of speculation as to who temple is ;; so he was worried carolina would’ve recognized him. what about wash ?? was he closer to lina than he was to wash ?? it’s possible it’s a freelancer we never met --- georgia, or literally any other goddamn state --- but it’s also possible it’s someone we already know. florida is assumed to be dead, but no one ever really dies in this show. out of all the freelancers we met, he’s the best fit to do this kind of twisted shit.
- I don’t think it’s york or north, I think if they did live they would’ve just went off and lived their lives somewhere. I doubt they would be driven by revenge / murder / all that other stuff. South, maybe, but that’s not her voice. Same with 479er. It’s possible it’s some insurrectionist, driven by all the Sharkface drama or literally everything else PFL did to them --- maybe that plot point would make up for how terrible it went over during season 13.
- so the UNSC isn’t to blame, it’s temple & co. what about church ?? was that just a ploy ?? how do the blues and reds tie into chorus, kimball, everything that’s left over on that planet ?? it’ll be interesting to see how that plot point is explained, but I feel like that’ll be put on the back burner until the thing with wash and lina is settled.
- I’ve been suspicious of dylan and jax since the start, but maybe all this drama has something to do with them ?? jax is an aspiring director, after all, so maybe the campy feel of things has something to do with that ?? it’s possible we’re just seeing something he’s set up for us. it’s a stretch, but not completely unreasonable.
#rvb 15#rvb 15 spoilers#rvb spoilers#i'm not super pleased with the writing so far but we'll see how it pans out

I was reading this post (155218981782/sorry-to-bug-but-you-mentioned-earlier-that-in) and dI kinda wanted to comment on some things (this might be long). I always thought Len went on the trip because he was bored. Yeah, that simple. He was still doing villanous deeds and all but after everything he did on the flash I think it would just get easy and a routine, so when he is offered all of time and space (sorry for the dw reference) he just couldn't refuse. It's one of those things everyone (cont
wants. I also think killing his dad might have had something to do with some of his changed, the time he spent in Iron Heights, after all he had time to think about killing his father and what it meant to him, what roles he played in who he was and stuff. Another thing I thought was about the speech in Russia and I thought about it being pretty OOC but I felt like he wanted to prove Rip wrong, he wanted things his own way and that was like ‘if i have to be touchy, fiine.'
I like to think Len never does things without a plan, that a big part of him showing emotions and stuff is nothing but his way of getting the crew’s trust, shifting it so he could call the shots he had to without arguing with Rip and the others all the time. I think after all the Legend thing got to him and it made me think of that deleted scene with Sara. He might have felt like he was not going to be in the books.
I mean Sara came back to life and was a known figure in the league, Firestorm, there is no way they wouldn’t be remembered, Hawk couple was fucking immortal, Ray had a company that would probably last for centuries… And there he was, a thief, fought the flash a few times, had a criminal record (later erased from everything and the /internet/ and started fresh), a cool cold gun yeah and a rep but how long would it last? Would he mean as much?
Seeing 2046, the world literally on flames and shit probably got him thinking. Mick liked it but you can see in the episode in the future that even though Len isn’t really into all the nice and clean things he is interested because it’s technological and the world was fine and it was more his thing, the clean cut future seemed to get him more interested, in my opinion mostly because it presented itself as a challenge to him, a way to up his game.
My mom also once joked that the change was like “your grandpa’s midlife crisis” and I mean… kinda? Probably totally unralated but he is a 40+ year old man and everyone has existential crisis and identity crisis and I think all of time and space got him questioning it all… Got him going back and forth between what was worth it and what was not.
Oh! I forgot to say, the scene where he’s talking to Ray and Ray says he could have been an engineer or something makes me wonder if he ever thought of that? Specially after his father, I think he thought about what could have been, seeing history change he thought of what it could have been and that gets him thorn between Cold and himself, one who has this instinct of lies and being in control and hiding everything and the other who just wants to be remembered.
I think these were all the messages that went together?(Link to the post anon is referring to, for reference)
I read all this twice now and I’m still not quite sure what to say, sorry Anon. I think all of that’s a perfectly valid interpretation. I do think he had a sort of existential crisis for sure, starting sooner than Legends but folded into his reason for going on the trip, not that he knew it, and gripping him throughout in a subtle way. Wanting to be remembered? I can see that. I think most everyone wants a legacy of some sort, and it’s rough to hear you haven’t left anything behind to remembered by. And I really enjoy the “touchy feel just to stick it to Rip” interpretation of Russia, not gonna lie.
Also, I 100% and totally agree that things for Len started to change after he killed his father. Without the shadow of his abuser hanging over him and his sister, Len had a new type of emotional freedom and safety, and the option of change was probably opened up to him for the first time in his life. That’s not a position Mick shared because Len and Mick came at everything from different places, and that’s maybe part of how and why their trajectories in season 1 went so differently.
I’ll say that the conversation with Ray was probably not the first time he thought about that, but it’s also not something he let himself think (until Lewis was dead). Being an engineer was a luxury he didn’t have. Len knows he’s capable and smart, knows he could’ve, but he also couldn’t have, not in this life, and he knows that too. But now he… can. New doors are open. And I think that’s important.
But I’ll disagree in that I don’t think him showing emotions to the team was a means of manipulating them, really. I think that was just him, starting to care about a few of them. Really starting to care about Jax, feeling a genuine connection to Sara. He’s still trying to keep people at bay, he’s just failing sometimes.
And in thinking about things since I made that post, I respect the opinion of people who just argue that any differences in characterization are down to the “power of the situation”. He’s responding differently to a team of heroes than he would a team of criminals because obviously, these people and their goals are different. He’s in a new position, and if he’s slightly different, that’s only natural. I get that opinion and I don’t really refute it so much. I just found it fast and noticeable and it tripped me up for a bit, that’s all.

I’m gonna go even further🤣I doubt Sutter plan was to make Jax the villain at the beginning,I mean, one of the things that was refreshing about Soa was that there was hope for him right? At least imo,he had his kid,JTs diaries and Tara coming back,I think the original plan was Jax vs Gemma, but in s5 everything changed and Sutter tried to make Gemma the focus😒You are right,Sutter wanted to write BB,but his ego,his liking for missery, his love for his wife, really ruined it all!He got sensible and moral characters like Unser turning against Tara in s6,he lectured her about how sad it was despite meaning good she went at it the wrong way with the fake miscarriage🙄god!Unser was really ruined, when he set up the meeting between Jax and Lowen??In which world Unser would do that?😪
I can definitely see that!! Jax was such a likable character in the earlier seasons, I mean really until S6. He had his super problematic asshole moments, but he always managed to come back from it? I definitely think it was always planned for it to end with a show down between Jax and Gemma. Sutter completely fucked that arc up and it’s sad because it would have been really good! Yes!! The focus really started to change in S5, it became the Gemma show 🙄. Yes!!! He wrote so many characters OOC just to make his story work and Unser was a huge victim of that! He was also the logical character in the show, he never let his love for Gemma get in the way of that either. Like Unser made a deal with the club to keep Charming safe because he genuinely thought he was doing the right thing, not because he was still hung up on Gemma 😑. It’s complete bullshit because Tara went to Unser for help because the way he reacted when the white supremcists attacked him at TM. He went at Gemma’s throat about how their could have been an innocent there who could got hurt, especially Abel and Thomas. Then when Tara approaches him, he’s completely on board with getting the boys out. Like dude?? He gave her so much shit after the fake miscarriage, like it was the most awful thing anyone’s ever done. It may have been questionable, but what else was she supposed to do?? Like dude you know Gemma is never going to let her leave with them. Oh my god that was horrible!! He was so nonchalant about it too, the old Unser would never do that! I’ll never forgive Sutter for ruining Unser! He was always such an interesting character and Sutter dumbed him down and had him blindly following Gemma 😤

I’m surprised Theo admitted his dislike for the Ireland eps🤣I love him!I’m not a fan of those eps either, but Maureen was a queen🤣her sass to G was on point from the start,I hope she would appear more, she would have driven Gemma crazier🤣I was thinking about s5,it was pretty good until the lasts eps right?Jax was at odds with Gemma,he even said he was confused by his hate for Clay and she says, you cant hate me Jackson🙄Gemma thought she lost her queen status and kinda started to drink right?😑
I am too!! He didn’t hesitate at all with bringing I up 🤣. I really liked Maureen too! I wish we saw more of her, that’s probably one of the most interesting arcs in the show. I also wish we could see more Fiona, her and Maureen didn’t take Gemma’s shit at all! Yes! I liked S5, but the quality did go down in the last few eps. Things just started to feel weird and people started to act OOC. Sutter also wrote himself into a corner with the Tara arc and he had no idea how to follow through with it at that point. Didn’t really feel “organic” 🤣. Yup, she started drinking in the earlier eps because she was “dethroned” 🙄 and didn’t know her place anymore. It’s ridiculous because when she is reassured that she has a family and Tara reaches out for her to watch the boys, her stupid ass smokes a joint and gets into an accident 🙄.

Those who think T trapped Jax in any way are the same who think she manipulated him to kill Kohn🙄,same as saying Jax wanted to divorce in s6,it’s like they are making shit up so T is the villain or think Jax really never cared about her! It’s interesting you mentioned Jax felt relieved when she hurt her hand,I never thought it in that moment but in S5 finale when she goes to prison, the way he reacts was weird, there were theories at the time of him plotting w/ G to keep T in Charming,he was OOC
Yes! They really tried to find reasons to hate Tara! They tried to villainize her any way the could and it’s still frustrating! All of the reasoning was completely asinine! Yeah like I think he thought that her hurting her hand kinda made shit easier for him. Now that he was stuck in the club, she kinda was too. Like you said more towards the end of S5 because he was genuinely happy for her when she told him her hand was healing in the beginning of the season! I remember those theories floating around! A lot of people thought Gemma ratted on her too.
