Project Proposal

What do you intend to produce?

My intention is to make a video installation and the final format of presentation will the documentation of it.

What is your work addressing?

My concept was based on the term ‘Anthropocene’ which was coined in 2000 by the atmospheric scientist Paul J. Crutzen and the marine scientist Eugene F. Stoermer to describe the current geological epoch. They emphasized “the central role of mankind in geology and ecology” and “growing impacts of human activities on earth”. On the other hand, the environmental historian Jason W. Moore argued that the term should be ‘Capitalocene’ which “does not stand for capitalism as an economic and social system...It signifies capitalism as a way of organizing nature”. In spite of their conceptual differences, both ‘Anthropocene’ and ‘Capitalocene’ demonstrate concerns regarding the relation between nature and humans, which is reflected in the current environmental crises as well as climate change protests. All of the above inspired me to make an artwork that explores human impacts on nature from a neutral perspective without being overly sentimental and didactic – presenting it without obvious judgements in order to leave enough conceptual space for audience.

What mediums, materials, and processes you will use?

I will film the waves as a representation of nature. Humans and their activities will be visually absent. The quality and aesthetics of visual content that I hope to present is the natural, pure and peaceful look, which should not be evocative of any sense of contemporary, industrial, commercial and crowded life. The waves I filmed will be projected on a large-scale plastic material (as a representation of human production and consumerism), so there will be a unique texture and visual effect when blending the waves with the plastic material.

Field recording will be an important part of process. Sound of human activities (transport, construction, communication etc.) will be recorded as a driving force to guide and even manipulate the visual content, waves. When editing (possibly using 3D models or experimenting with different codecs), waves will be reshaped, manipulated and distorted depending on the rhythm and power of sound of human activities. There will be another layer of sound – underwater sound recorded by hydrophones, so there will be also a sense of interaction or confrontation between nature and humans.

What contemporary artists are informing your project?

Artworks that conceptually influenced me are ‘Lithic Choreographies’ (film, 2018) and ‘Lithic Coda’ (film, 2020) by Sam Smith. They are experimental documentaries shot on the Swedish island of Gotland, “mingling it with speculative fictions, to chronicle different chapters embedded to the island's geological strata”. The most impressive scene is the “choreographed co-habitation of a disused quarry by a human dancer and a rock” where human and nature are juxtaposed harmoniously without any sense of hierarchy.

Another artwork that inspired me in terms of form is ‘Immaterial Ornament’ (2020) by Harley Ives. It “involves animation, intervention, transfer, recording, rerecording, rerecording, transfer and layering […] resulting in objects that melt, drip, crumble, pour and rotate…” The digitalized and animated still life looks very powerful and unique, which has completely get rid of its own original context.

Chapter 3

Y/N POV:

I woke up to the sensation of water. It was all over my sheets and body.

I screeched in disbelief.

I saw Froy, Emilio, Ivan, and Mason wetting me with water guns.

I hid under my blankets and screeched for them to stop, and of course they had a camera.

I soon felt the water stop.

"Ahh man! The guns don't have no more water. " Froy said disappointedly while sadly looking down at the gun.

I took the chance and attacked him.

I pushed him down to the floor and got on top of him. I got a water bottle near me and wet his face. His hair and face were soaked.

He gasped in shock.

"Didn't Shawn teach you to have mercy on people??" Froy said smirking.

"Oh get out!!" You laughed pointing at the door.

Ivan laughed, "Well I think one of us is going to make breakfast. If you'd like some?"

"Yeah for sure. I'm gonna shower first. So see you in a few." I said.

"See you downstairs, Mas." I said blowing a kiss at him.

He giggled and they all left.

I got the wet clothes off of me and headed for the shower.

I showered quickly to head to breakfast.

Once I got off the shower I put a towel over my body and headed to the closet.

I put some comfortable clothes on, because I didn't know what the plans for today were.

I went down stairs and saw Jazzy cooking up some waffles for everyone.

"Morning guys!" I said overly excited.

"Morning!" They replied.

I sat next to Mason and saw him eating waffles with syrup.

"Did you like sleeping over??" I asked him.

He nodded vigorously. I chucked.

I got the Nutella and fresh strawberries, to add onto the waffles.

"That's looks really good." Tessa said sitting next to me.

"You want some??" I asked.

"Just a bite." Tessa said.

I grabbed the waffle a led it to her mouth, she took a bite.

"Aww you guys look like a happy couple!!" Bethany said.

Everyone laughed.

"It's actually really good!!" Tessa said.

I nodded, "I know."

"So what are the plans for today??" Emilio asked.

"I don't know. What do y'all wanna do??" I said.

"CAN WE PLAY HIDE AND GO SEEK?" Mason said excitedly.

"That actually sounds like fun!" Jazzy said.

"Yes! We can even make a video out of it?!" Ivan said.

"That's perfect! We can have fun and make a video at the same time!" Bethany said.

"Who's it?" Mason said.

"NOT IT!!" We all yelled, the last one who yelled was Emilio.

"Aww man! I'm it!" Emilio said disappointedly.

We all laughed and all grabbed gopros to record ourselves.

"Count for 100 seconds!" Froy yelled and ran off.

3rd Person POV

They all ran recording themselves, showing their hiding spots.

Y/N ran off to the library and hid in between the isles of book shelves. She got a blanket from a chair and began reading Harry Potter.

Mason ran to the gaming room and hid behind a huge game. His small body his perfectly behind the huge gaming device.

Froy hid in Y/N's Range Rover. The windows were tinted, it would be difficult to find him.

Ivan hid behind the huge water slides outdoor. The slides were higher that 60 ft, it was great spot to hide behind.

Bethany hid in the recording studio. She hid in the soundproof room, which was perfect if she made a sound.

Tessa hid in the elevator, no one would think that someone would hide in a elevator.

Jazzy hid in the Bowling Alley. She hid inside the couches. She was petite, she could fit anywhere!

Emilio started looking around the kitchen since that's where everyone was before they started playing hide and go seek.

He looked under the little room under the staircase. He found no one.

"So far I have no luck guys!" Emilio said walking around the first floor.

He went into a few other rooms and gave up on the first floor. He went onto the elevator and found Tessa!

"Nooo! You weren't supposed to go on the elevator!!" Tessa said laughing.

"You're the first one I found! So you'll have a punishment!" Emilio said evilly.

"What?? I did not approve of this!" Tessa said.

"Too bad! No you have to help me find the others." Emilio said.

"The huts! The ones next to the pool!" Tessa said excitedly.

"Good idea! That's a good hiding spot!" Emilio said and they both headed outside.

They looked inside the huts and no one was there. They walked around the backyard, where the huge slides were.

They heard some noise, they quietly followed it and found Ivan.

They walked around and soon started finding each of the members slowly.

The last few members they haven't found was Jazzy and Froy.

"I can't believe you were reading Harry Potter while you were hiding." Tessa said shaking her head.

"Don't judge me! It's a good book! I have to finish them all so I can have a Harry Potter movie marathon!!" Y/N said flinging her arms about over her head.

"Yeah no! It's not a good book." The boys said jokingly to y/n.

"Where can they be?" Emilio said, since he was it.

"Have you checked the garage?" Ivan asked.

"Actually, no! Let's go!" Emilio said running to the garage.

In the garage they opened up all the vehicles and found Froy in Y/N's Range Rover.

"Wait?! Did I win??" Froy said happily.

"Nope! We still have to find Jazzy!" Bethany said.

"What!!" Froy said disappointedly.

We all laughed and continued looking for her.

"What haven't you checked?" Y/N asked.

"The Merch room, bowling alley, movie room, sauna." Emilio listed.

"Well the bowling alley is the closest. Let's check there." Tessa suggested.

They all agreed and checked the bowling alley. It was empty. They looked around and they didn't find Jazzy.

"Let's check the Movie theatre." Emilio said giving up.

They all nodded and started walking out.

Tessa being the clumsiest from the group, fell onto the couch in the bowling alley. Creating a huge noisey impact, causing two screams.

One was Tessa's and the other was unknown. It came from the inside of the couches.

Everyone was confused from the unknown scream. They reluctantly checked the inside of the couch and found Jazzy.

"Omg! What was that??" Jazzy said petrified.

"I accidentally fell onto the couch." Tessa said laughing.

"Now you have to get blindfolded and get your punishment." Emilio said evilly.

Tessa got blindfolded, and her best friends were going to make her walk into the pool.

"Ok just walk a little more forward!" Emilio said, holding back his laughs.

"O-oh ok...You sure??" Tessa said nervously.

"Oh yeah!! For sure!!" Emilio said.

Tessa stepped into the pool and she screeched.

"AHHHHHHHHH!!" She yelled and the water cut her off.

They all laughed except for Tessa.

She got out of the pool and ran into her room to shower.

They all laughed and went inside to wrap up the video.

Y/N's POV

Once we all wrapped up the Hide and Go seek video we started to make plans for the day.

"Heyy!! We should go to Skyscraper that has the glass slide. It's in Downtown L.A." Bethany suggested excitedly.

"That sounds like fun!" Mason said.

"Yeah it's a glass slide that comes out of the skyscraper and you go through it and you can see the view of L.A. It's a 1000 feet up" Bethany rambled.

"Wait lemme see a pic!" Jazzy asked.

" Yeah! Hold up." Bethany said.

"That's looks like so much fun!!" I said.

"Do you wanna go Mas?" Froy asked Mason.

Mason nodded vigorously.

I chucked.

"Alright let me go change Mason." I said taking his hand.

"Alright I'll let Tessa know where we're going." Jazzy said.

I nodded and Mason and I went to my room.

"I can't wait to go on the slide!!" Mason said jumping up and down while I looked for his outfit.

I giggled, "Alright! But don't get scared!"

I changed Mason into his outfit.

"Y/N!! You should wear your blue adidas pants too! So we can match!!!" Mason said cutely.

"Oh my god! That's a good idea Mas!" I said kissing his cheek before getting my outfit ready.

I wore a cropped white thrasher shirt, black fishnet tights under blue adidas sweats.

"Wow finally the guys are ready on time" I said laughing.

The girls laughed and the guys faked laughed.

We all got onto the SUV, blasted some music and started vlogging.

Once we got to the building we got in and went to the floor in which the slide took place.

"Omg I'm so excited yet nervous!!" Tessa said.

"Omg me too!! Take a picture of me for Instagram when I'm on the slide!" I said to Tessa.

"Omg yes! You definitely have to take of picture of me too!" Tessa said excitedly.

We giggled.

Ivan was going first.

"Oh god I'm nervous." Ivan said.

"Just don't look down. You know just 1,000 feet up in the air! No worries...." Emilio said.

We all laughed and he slid down.

It was then Froy's turn and then Emilio.

After Emilio slid down the slide, it was Mason's turn to slide down.

"Are you scared Mas?" I asked him.

"A little. But it looks like fun!" Mason said.

"Alright! You ready Baby?" I asked.

He nodded and slid down the slide.

"Go Mason!!" We and rooted for him.

He looked back at us and giggled.

The guys took him once he met the bottom of the slide.

"Alright I'll go down next." Jazzy said fiercely.

"Alright girl! You got this!" Bethany said.

Jazzy slid down and so did Bethany.

"Oh my god I'm so nervous." Tessa said.

I decided to mess with her.

I was going to pretend to push her into the slide.

I pretended to push her in and she screamed.

"Y/N!! I'm gonna kill you!" Tessa yelled.

You laughed and she giggled.

Tessa slid and I took her picture.

I then sat on the glass slide. It looked beautiful but I was 1000 feet up in the air, so if you look down it feels like you're going to fall down.

I slid down and Tessa snapped my picture.

I showed Tessa the picture I took of her!

Then Tessa showed me the picture she took of me.

"Omg! I love it! Thank you Tess!" I said and hugged her.

"How was it Mas??" I asked him kneeling down at him.

"It was really scary!! But it was fun!" He said happily.

"I'm happy you had fun!" I said kissing his forehead, standing up.

"Do you want some ice cream, Mas?" Emilio asked him.

Mason nodded his head.

"Yaaa! I want ice cream!" Mason said.

We all laughed and went across the street to get ice cream.

At the ice cream shop, everyone ordered their ice cream.

We all went outside and walked around Downtown L.A.

Paparazzis snapped pictures of us eating our ice cream. We walked around looking at the beauty of Downtown L.A.

Once it started getting dark we went back to the SUV. It can be dangerous once it's dark, we would've stayed but we had Mason.

We didn't want anything bad happening.

On the drive home, Mason fell asleep.

"He's passed out!" Froy whispered.

"Yeah! I think he had a lot of fun!" Jazzy said.

I laughed, "He did!"

I felt my phone vibrating, it was Dylan.

"Hey what's up, Dyl pickle" I said giggling at his nickname.

"Nothing much sis, we just wanted to come over to pick Mason up." Dylan said.

"Alright. Well right now we're in Downtown L.A. So just go inside the house. We're on our way!" I said.

"Alright Garrett and I will be waiting inside! Love you! " Dylan said.

"Alright see you there! Love you too!" I said ending the call.

Once we got home, we all got off the SUV.

Ivan carried Mason, taking him into the house.

He laid him down on the living room couches.

We saw Garrett and Dylan in the house.

I hugged them, and they of course messed up my hair.

I rolled my eyes and fixed my ponytail.

"Mason's sleeping." I told them.

"Maybe we can stay a while. So he can rest for a bit. He'll probably wake up when we take him to the car." Garrett said and Dylan nodded.

"We could go into the kitchen. So we could be close to Mason, in case he wakes up?" I suggested and we headed to the kitchen.

I sat on the counter and the twins stood up against the counter.

"So what's up sis?" Garrett asked.

"Nothing much. What about you guys?" I asked them.

"Nothing really. You know the normal." Dylan replied.

I nodded.

"So do you have any plans tomorrow?" Garrett asked.

"I don't think so? Probably just hang out with the others." I guessed.

"Well since we haven't had a older sibling hangout. We were thinking that maybe we could hang out tomorrow. The three of us!" Dylan suggested.

"Yeah and Mason has a play date tomorrow! So it can just be the older siblings. Like the good old days!" Garrett said.

I hopped out of the island and hugged them.

"Of course! That's sounds like so much fun! I've missed the three of us hanging around." I said into their chest.

Once we finished our conversation they had to go.

They carried Mason out to car.

I followed them and watched them buckle Mason.

"Alright baby sis, so brunch tomorrow at 11:30!" Dylan said he gets out and closes the back door. He then comes over to me and hugs me then kisses my forehead:

I went inside and took a shower.

I then changed into some pajamas:

There was a pregnant pause. Markus was trembling and unabashedly gaping at his idol. His friends were trying to stifle their laughter.

“Um, yes! My name is Jericho- wait, no. My name is Markus. Yeah, Markus. You?”

His three companions groaned.

“Oh, um.” Connor awkwardly scratched the back of his head.

Markus panicked. “No! No! I’m so sorry! I know who you are! Well, I guess you just introduced yourself and I’m just a huge fan and can I please have your autograph?”

“Well,” he laughed and Markus wanted to cry, “I suppose we’ll see. Let’s get into the building, shall we?”

Before he could answer, his friends were already slamming their doors to get out.

“Pleasure meeting you, Mr. Anderson. I’m Simon. Markus definitely made sure I knew all about you.” Simon grinned teasingly and shook his hand. Markus was staring at them with growing horror from inside the vehicle.

“Hey, I’m Josh.” He waved. “Markus made me watch most of your videos with him. You’re pretty amazing!”

“Sup, I’m North.” She smirked. “I can get you quick access to all his love poems, fanfiction, and fanart dedicated to you. It’ll cost you, though.”

“I do like reading.” Connor said politely, although, his eyebrows were slightly furrowing in confusion due to the... strange introductions.

“So!” Markus finally exited the car, albeit with very little grace. “An escape room, eh? We should probably go.”

His eyes surveyed Connor, hoping for his approval. He sighed with relief when the said Youtuber agreed.

The door to the room was built to look like the entrance of a mausoleum. Markus willed himself to not look like an idiot. This was his chance! He’s played so many horror games. He wasn’t going to get one little room stop him.

“Are your cameras alright?” Connor asked. Markus fumbled with the GoPro strapped on his head and chest. He numbly nodded at him.

“Alright,” Simon called as he clasped his hands together, “You’ve got one hour to escape. There’s an intercom there if you want to use a hint or talk to us. Try not to break anything. Management is already a bit put off by North.”

“How was I not supposed to punch that stupid clown in the face?”

“Anyway, you think you guys can do this?”

Connor smirked determinedly. “I always accomplish my mission.”

“Oh, my god he said the thing,” Markus mumbled to himself.

“Great! Wear the blindfolds and hold each other’s hand please.”

“Why-”

“Just do it, Markus.”

“You guys-”

He shut himself up when he felt Connor tie a blindfold over his eyes. He could feel his skin gently skimming over the back of his neck. He shivered.

“We’re ready now,” he heard Connor say.

“Great!” North replied. “Now hold hands when you go in, please. It’s a safety precaution. Really.”

“You’re one big liar-”

Again, he quickly shut up when Connor’s fingers gently laced with his. His heart beat wildly. He was close to tears.

“We can do this,” Connor determinedly whispered into his ear.

Markus heard nothing. He just felt Connor’s breath teasing his skin.

“See you in an hour, guys!” That was the last thing they heard before they were unceremoniously shoved into the escape room.

The got rid of the blindfolds quickly. However, Markus noted, they were still holding hands.

“It’s very dark. There should be a flashlight here somewhere.” Connor muttered to his left. “Oh, there it is.” Markus was being dragged to the corner of a room. Suddenly, his idol’s face was blinking at him, illuminated by the sudden light. “Here, have one, too.” He gave Markus another flashlight.

“Thanks.” He praised whatever deities were out there that Connor couldn’t clearly see how much he was panicking.

They surveyed the room. It was fairly small and old fashioned, like a Victorian era grave yard for the aristocrats. There was a number of scattered objects. Blood and water smeared the wall. Eerie music played in the background.

“Oh, I’m sorry.”

“W-what for?”

“I’m still holding your hand.”

“... It’s fine.”

“Really? Okay.”

He expected Connor to let go. 

He didn’t.

“Look at this, Markus! It’s a note!”

Markus was lead to a wall. Written in what looked like blood was a message.

‘I’m dead. Mommy killed me. She threw me in a well and watched me drown. I don’t like her very much. Did mommy send you here? Does she want to laugh at me again? No! I don’t like you! If you don’t leave, I’ll drown you, too!’

They heard child-like laughter echo within the room.

“Our best choice is to leave, I presume.”

“You’re not wrong.”

Markus was being pulled everywhere. He was barely even playing, really. He was simply following Connor as he solved every riddle and found every clue in a blink of an eye. Markus didn’t mind. He really liked listening to him.

“The buyer doesn’t want it, the seller doesn't- oh. Obviously a coffin. Does that mean the next clue is in the small coffin in the corner? Let’s see.”

Markus opened the coffin for Connor. There was a piece of paper inside. The handwriting was quite ugly and child-like. It contained the riddle:

“Behind the words...” Markus trailed off in contemplation.

Connor had his eyes narrowed, deep in thought. “What could it mean? We’re so close, Markus! I can feel it!”

Connor subconsciously tightened his grip on Markus’ hand. He didn’t mind in the slightest.

“Hold on. Behind the... papers? Connor, it’s behind the bookshelf! We gotta-” Connor quickly pulled themselves to the tall shelf stacked with books.

“Let’s try getting rid of the books. We might find something.” Connor meticulously picked off the literature.

Markus, however, was staring at one particular tome. It was titled ‘When I Drowned’. Could it..?

He gently attempted to pry it off, but instead, as he moved the book, it set off a mechanism that prompted the shelf to move. There was a hidden passage.

Connor gasped. “Markus, you’re brilliant!”

He didn’t get to reply because he was being pulled into the darkened halls. Connor was practically running with excitement, almost leaving him behind. Markus was careful to make sure neither of them tripped.

“It’s a well!” Connor said mostly to himself.

Markus raised an eyebrow. “The well where she died?”

“Most probably. What do we do now? There’s nothing else in here.”

Suddenly, from up above them, they hear the voice of a young girl.

“You’ve found me... Does mommy want to see me drown again? Well, I don’t want to! I will kill-”

“Wait a fucking minute. North, is that you?!”

Connor nudged him on the shoulder. “You can’t cut off ghosts, Markus. It’s impolite.”

“But it’s-”

“Be quiet! How will I know if you’re not here to hurt me?”

Connor was the one to answer. “We just want to escape. If you help us, we’ll be on our way. How can we prove that we’re good?”

“Mommy hates love... so she hated me! You need to prove to me that you’re capable of love!”

“I own a dog. I love him very much. I love Hank, too-”

“You’re lying! You need to prove it or I won’t believe your shit!”

Markus rolled his eyes. “Victorian-era aristocratic kids didn’t swear, North.”

With her normal voice, she replied. “Just shut up, will you? Anyway, ahem- prove to me that you know how to love!”

“But how?” Connor inclined his head to the side.

“Not you. I want the man next to you to prove it.”

“Why the hell-”

“Do as I say or I’ll drown you! No one will help you even if you cry! Even if you beg! Even if you scream!”

“Oh, whatever. Fine, what do I do?”

“Kiss your companion’s cheek.”

“Excuse you?!”

“Did I stutter? Kiss him, Markus.”

“You’re not even doing the voice anymore. Oh, god. I’m so sorry, Connor. My friends are awful and I just-”

“Just kiss me, you fool.”

“What.”

“What.”

“We need to escape,” Connor cheekily smiled at a dumbfounded Markus, “it’s okay. Just kiss me.”

“Oh my god, Simon do you hear this-” They heard North from the intercom.

Markus coughed. “I wouldn’t want to do anything that would make you uncomfortable!”

But Connor already prepared his cheek, slightly leaning it upwards for a better angle. Markus gulped. 

“FUCKING DO IT, YOU PIECE OF GARBAGE!”

“North, please.”

“GET OFF MY DICK, SIMON.”

The two ignored the bickering. Connor was waiting and Markus was panicking.

“Okay, if we’re really going to do this, I just want you to know that I’m so sorry-”

“Markus...”

“A-alright! Here I go!” Markus closed his eyes and leaned in to kiss his cheek.

Far too quickly, Connor moved his head to kiss Markus on the lips. Markus let out a gasp, but Connor held his hand tightly. They deepened the kiss.

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-”

The screams of three different people resonated within the room. They both jumped apart, their hands separated now. It felt lonely. Connor’s face was bright red whilst Markus was hyperventilating in the corner.

After a few seconds of silence, a door from seemingly out of nowhere opened.

“Guys, we just asked for a cheek kiss. Ya’ll are so horny.”

“Damn, Markus. You move quick. You got French kissed by the guy you’ve probably written smut about.”

“Let’s head outside, hmm? Congratulations, you two! You’ve escaped!”

The duo shared a glance and let out incredulous laughs.

“That was fun,” Connor said to Markus quietly as the exited.

He shyly grinned. “Yeah, I guess.”

“Would you... like to do this again sometime?”

Markus powered through the heart attack that was destroying his soul. “That’d be nice,” he answered as smoothly as he could.

Connor smiled softly and intertwined his fingers once more with Markus. They walked out of the building together hand-in-hand.

“Um... where are they going? We parked on the other side...?”

“Love leads you to mysterious places, North. Let’s not question it.”

Ryan knows why. Because the world hates him and wants him dead.With the filming crew gone for the evening, he and Shane do one lastloop around the cabin they have rented out, trudging through the snowin silence, worn out after a day of trekking and keeping their eyesopen for any Foot activity. Shane wants to take the long way back butRyan outright refuses. He’s tired, he wants to sit in front of thehard-to-light fireplace of the cabin and fall asleep and not thinkabout snow and cold anymore. Shane calls him a delicate lily that’stoo used to soaking up the California sun and Ryan flips him off andstomps down the short path. He faintly hears Shane shout after him toremind him to stay on the path but he ignores him. It’s not likeShane really cares anyway.

The last thought stings and he knows he’s being unfair. Shanedoes care about him. They’re friends, best friends even. But it’sso easy to get frustrated with the big guy, especially when he keepsup his jokes and nicknames and the way he needles Ryan about somethinks, unaware he sometimes mentions stuff Ryan is insecure about.

“What if you ever fall for a Midwesterner,” Ryan repeatsShane’s statement in a mocking voice. “They would never bring youhome to meet the family during Christmastime in fear of you justdying out there.” Ryan shoves his hands in his pocket and stompson. What if, indeed. His brain conjures up the sight of Shaneearlier. Wrapped in a warm coat and a soft beanie, face a littleflushed from the cold but eyes wide and bright as he trudges throughthe snow, stomps his feet in his boots to keep them warm- He lookedlike he was home. And Ryan knows it’s a great opportunity to make aShane-is-Sasquatch joke but his mind has already interfered with.

Shane wouldn’t take me home to meet his parents.

Which is dumb. They’re not together. Of course Shane won’t.Although he might if Ryan were to ask, because Shane is a sweetheartand if he heard that Ryan was going to spend Christmas alone, hewould drag him along in a heartbeat. Somehow, the thought doesn’tlift Ryan’s mood.

He stops and picks up a rock to toss it at the small lake next tothe path. It hits the ice with a low “tock” and then starts toskip across the ice, making a strange, chirping noise whenever ithits the ice. Ryan stares ahead. A tiny part of his monkey brainwants to go out and grab it but he is smarter than that. Just becausethe ice can hold a tiny rock didn’t mean that he wouldn’t breakthrough and land in ice water. It’s not necessarily deep, but heshudders at the thought of the cold water lapping at him. Ryan turnsto go back to the cabin. Maybe he can fall asleep before Shane comesback. That way he can’t put his foot in his mouth and accidentallyinsult him more.

Ryan is so lost in thought that he screams when suddenly, a smallbody breaks out of the underbrush next to him and crosses his path,he stumbles back, catches a glimpse of the shape of a small animalbouncing off – probably a rabbit – when his foot slips on thesnow and he drops down the slope.

He barely manages to should before he hears a crack and ice coldwater seeps into his jeans and jacket. Ryan gasps for air and triesto grab onto the slope in front of him, but the few dead plants thatgrow there are to weak and all he manages is ripping pieces off as heclaws at something for support. He slips lower, snow sliding up hisshirt and he gasps for breath, yelping as he drops deeper into theriver.

As it sometimes is, his braininstantly sends him a feeling of relief because he didn’t bring anyequipment or a camera on the walk, so he didn’t just ruin a GoProor something, but at the same time, ice cold water is now seepinginto his underwear andit starts to hurt, burn even. Ryan’s teeth are chattering as hetries again, to push himself out of the lake heis stuck in. His muscles tense and it’s fucking painful. Ryangrunts as he pushes himself forward, landing face first in the snowand shuddering. He thinks about calling for Shane, but he is out ofbreath from dragging himself up.

“Am I going to die fromHypothermia…?” He blinks as the thought goes through his painaddled mind. Part of him says no, his chest is still relativelydry, except for the snow that is slowly seeping in, but at the sametime, he is shaking hard now and his legs feel like he ran amarathon. Ryan gasps and army crawls further, trying to pull himselfup the slope. He really wants to rest, but that would be the worstdecision, so he keeps pushing forward. He is about half way up whenhe hears footsteps.

He takes in a gulp of air.

“Hello? Shane?”

Ryan shudders as he realizes his voice is shaking and way tooquiet but the footsteps pause. He is about to suck in a deep breathto shout when the steps suddenly pick up and then he sees snow anddirt rain down the slope next to him and Shane slides into view,stumbling as he tries to keep on his feet on the steep incline.

“Ryan! Ryan what happened?!”

Shane rolls him onto his back andRyan winces as the back of his head lands in the snow and soaks hishair. His beanie got lost somewhere… huh. He tries to push Shaneoff who is touching him, holding his face and reaching for his neckwith cold, naked fingers while babbling questions and Ryan doesn’twant him to fuss all over him because he still has somepride but then Shane hauls him up and half drags Ryan on his back.Ryan should push off of him, but Shane’s back is warm and eventhough he knows he is soaking the other guy’s coat, he clings tohis shoulders and back while Shane struggles up the slope more orless on hands and feet while balancing Ryan on his back.

Ryan doesn’t remember how Shane made it, but he pulls him to hisfeet once they’re back on the path and drags him along, clearly notcaring that Ryan can barely move his legs. Ryan stumbles, but Shanegrabs onto him and presses him against his body to steady his stepsand Ryan flushes.

He is glad that Shane will think it’s just the cold.

The cabin door closes behind them and Ryan stands in the entryway,teeth not chattering anymore – which he guesses could be a bad sign– but his whole body is still shaking. He is so cold and so inpain, all he wants to do is lie down. Before he can even lowerhimself however, Shane grabs him.

“What happened, Ryan? God, I told you to stay on the fucking-”

“It w-wasn’t me. S-saw ssssssomething.” He sounds so stupid,but he can’t control his mouth and teeth and tongue like this.“M-maybe a rabbit. Stumbled and fe-fell.”

He is still shaking and Shane pulls off his soaked gloves andunzips Ryan’s jacket.

“Startled by a rabbit?! God, Ryan. Scared of your own shadow…”

Ryan whines. He wants to tell Shane to shut up but his head ispounding.

“Sorry.”

It’s so quiet that Ryan isn’t even sure he heard it. He staresat Shane.

“I’m sorry I made you walk back alone. We shouldn’t havesplit up. And I’m sorry I made fun of you. I… I didn’t wantthis to happen.”

Ryan is stunned. He really would like to tell Shane that it wasn’this fault, but words are still tough. He has almost gathered enoughcourage to thank Shane for the rescue when his brain screeches to ahalt. Shane has pushed his hands under his sweater and t-shirt andundershirt and starts to push all three upwards. Ryan yelps and grabsat Shane’s hands, trying to pull his clothes down again.

“Ryan.” Shane sounds tense. “You’re soaked to the bone!You can’t stay in those clothes or you will get hypothermia.”

Ryan shudders again. Shane’shands have warmed up since they left the cold and they are stillbrushing his stomach. This is bad, very bad. But Shane has a point,so Ryan grits his teeth and lets him go. Theclothes get pushed up and he brings up his arms to allow Shane totake them off. He can’t look the other man in the eye, so he looksto the side as Shane pulls the shirt and undershirt out and throwsall three over the back of a chair. Then he turns and opens Ryan’spants and Ryan screws his eyes shut because he has already seen thatcoming.

“Ryan?”

He realizes he is holding his breath.

“Yeah?”

At least his voice was back.

“I’m really trying to help you here, I know it’s awkward butI just want you to put on something dry. Can you… maybe help me alittle?”

Ryan looks down. Shane is half crouched in front of him with hishands on Ryan’s hips. Fuck it. If he didn’t die fromembarrassment, he wouldn’t dare die from the cold.

“Okay.”

Shane seems to relax at that. He helps Ryan on a chair and thentakes his shoes, socks and jeans off. He throws the soaked clothesaside and then runs to grab the blanket from the sofa. He wraps itaround Ryan’s shoulders and it’s kind of scratchy but at leastit’s warm. Ryan pulls it around himself and Shane starts to rub therough fabric over his back and shoulders and arms, then his legs andRyan feels pins and needles, not unlike when a limb falls asleep. Hehisses and hears Shane murmur an apology.

“You gotta lose the underwear too, by the way. Don’t want thatspace to freeze.”

Ryan flushes and throws a look at Shane, but his friend is notlooking at him. The tips of Shane’s ears are pink and Ryan wondersif it’s from the cold or the awkward situation. Shane gets up.

“I’ll grab you some fresh clothes, be right back.”

Ryan nods. Once Shane is out of sight he wiggles out of hisboxers, keeping the blanket tightly wound around himself. He migratesto the sofa and sits down on it, feet tucked under himself as herocks and shivers. He can feel how his body tries to heat him upagain, but his wet clothes in the cold air have drawn a lot of bodyheat from him and he doesn’t really know if it’s working.

He nearly flinches when a stack of clothing is dropped next tohim. Shane had come back without Ryan noticing.

“I got you your sweatpants and underwear, but you don’t haveanother warm thing so- uh.” Shane gestures to the soft red sweateron top of the pile.

Ryan stares. It’s one ofShane’s. It’s pretty much just a red sweater with thin blackstripes but… it’s Shanewho it belongs to and it’s kind of large and Ryan feels terriblethat the thought of wearing Shane’s clothes fills his stomach withwarmth.

“Get yourself together, Ryan.” He thinks. “It doesn’t meananything. He’s your friend and doesn’t want you to die.”

Shane moves to the kitchenette and Ryan ducks behind the sofa toget dressed with at least some modesty. Underwear, socks, sweatpantsand… Shane’s sweater. It’s a bit too long for Ryan, of courseand the sleeves cover his hands. He doesn’t push them up, becausehis hands are still fucking cold and the sweater is fluffy and warm.He buries himself in it, up to his chin and it is mostly to warm upbut also because he noticed Shane’s smell. He swallows hard. Thiswasn’t good. Ryan wraps himself in the blanket and tries not tothink about it too much.

Shane is still freaking out. He doesn’t show Ryan, but he isvery close to losing his shit.

When he had returned to the cabin and found it locked he hadinstantly turned and rushed up the short path. He had a feeling thatsomething bad had happened. Ryan wouldn’t just walk off into thewinter woods, he’s smarter than that. When he had seen thedisturbed snow and the shape of a body he had nearly chocked with howhard his heart had jumped into his throat.

And now, he has a shaking Ryanwrapped in a blanket and Shane’s sweater on the sofa and he triesto make tea with the old kettle on the counter. Shane had grabbed thesweater as an afterthought, when he couldn’t find any of Ryan’swarm clothes, but he has made the mistake and looked over after Ryanput it on and… fuck him gently with a chainsaw Ryan looks so cute.His hands are pulled into the sleeves and he has put his glasses onthat luckily survived the fall and he looks soft but also miserableand Shane’s heart hurts. The click and whistle of the kettle ripshim out of his thoughts and he quickly grabs the tea pot, two mugsand returns to Ryan.

“Here.” He fills one of the mugs, even though the tea probablyhasn’t steeped enough yet. “Hold this, it’ll help your hands.”

Ryan takes the mug, sweater still pulled over his palms and triesto hold it straight despite the shaking. Shane swallows and quicklyturns away to light the fireplace. For all the failure the two ofthem had with the thing earlier, he somehow manages to do everythingright on the first try, this time. The small lighter cubes burnbright and the paper around the wood that’s stacked in the placequickly catches the wood on fire and Shane shuts the small glasswindow, too stunned to feel proud right now. He looks over hisshoulder at Ryan. His friend seems a little calmer. His lips, bluebefore are slowly regaining the healthy reddish tone and his skinlooks less icy and more the usual bronze now. Shane stands up, grabsthe towel he brought earlier when he got the clothes and steps behindRyan to carefully towel his hair dry. He feels Ryan stiffen under histouch and Shane bites his bottom lip, feeling guilty. If he’s trueto himself, he really isn’t trying to use the situation to touchRyan more. But he can’t deny that he feels happy taking care ofRyan like this.

Of course, Ryan doesn’t like it if the way he freezes wheneverShane touches him is anything to go by. Shane doesn’t want to becreepy, but he has to make sure that Ryan will be okay, that Ryanwon’t get sick or harmed because of the silly little “fight”they had earlier about Ryan being too weak for the cold.

Shane has already tried to apologize, but he feels like he shoulddo it again, now that both their brains aren’t occupied with thefear of Ryan freezing. He allows Ryan to ruffle his almost dry hairand puts the towel down, unsure how to proceed. Ryan turns a bit andlooks up at him.

“Thanks…” He whispers.

“Hey… Ryan. I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean-”

“I know.”

Ryan looks up at him and then shuffles on the sofa to make roomfor Shane. Shane sits down and instinctively reaches out to rub apalm over Ryan’s back.

“How are you feeling?”

Ryan looks into his mug.

“A little better. Thanks again for … well, rescuing me.”

Shane swallows.

“Of course.” He should make a joke, something about keepingUnsolved alive or not wanting to give up the only other hugekernelhead in the office. But he can’t get himself to. Ryan islooking at him, hair ruffled and face slowly reddening. Maybe hereally is warming up.

“I feel… too hot now.” Ryan grunts and pushes at theblanket, but Shane is quick to hold it in place.

“Don’t. Your body is trying to heat you up. You’re stillcold.” He reaches out and touches Ryan’s forehead. Ryan is indeedstill a little cool.

Ryan scoffs and shoves the blanket off anyway and Shane sighs andleans in to wrap it around him again. Ryan struggles for a moment andthen jerks to the side to put his mug away. He is now half lying onShane’s arm and Shane grunts and pulls Ryan back to wrap theblanket around him. When Ryan grabs his shoulder however, he pauses.

Ryan is half lying down now, blanket trapped under his body and heis holding onto Shane who is braced over him. He looks better, lessdying, but also a lot more soft. Ryan blinks up at him from behindhis glasses, wearing Shane’s oversized sweater and Shane swallowshard. He looks… beautiful and Shane really wishes he could justlean in and kiss him. But he can’t because that’s not what theyare. Still, Ryan keeps staring at him, as if searching Shane’s facefor something.

He nearly jumps when a hand settles on the back of his neck.Ryan’s fingers are warm from where he clutched the mug and Shaneglances over quickly. No matter how weak the tea had been, Ryan drankit, which is good. He really hopes he has done what he could to helpagainst the cold. The hand on his neck tugs and Shane leans down alittle. He’s not sure what Ryan is doing and he is definitelygetting nervous being so close, but he assumes Ryan wants to saysomething and his voice is still too unstable.

“You could help me warm up.”

Shane frowns. His nose is almost touching Ryan, and despite hisnose being pretty big, they are very close by now. He searches Ryan’sface for an explanation, but only sees how Ryan pulls an arm to hischest, hand still adorably hidden in Shane’s long sleeves.

“Uh… I- I think I did what I could?”

Ryan blinks.

“I … You’re probably right.Maybe I’m being stupid. You wouldn’t take me to meet your parentsanyway.”

Shane blinks, dumbfounded.

“I’m sorry, what?”

Ryan looks at him, face hardened and he seems almost… accusing?

“You said it yourself. No Midwesterner would take me to meettheir family on Christmas. I’m too weak for the cold. Clearly thatwas proven right afterwards because I’m too dumb to walk a pathwithout falling in a lake.”

Ryan swallows hard and Shane realizes with horror how upset helooks.

“I just thought… maybe… you took such good care of me. Iguess you were just being a great friend and I’m the creep hittingon you just because you gave me your sweater.”

He isn’t looking at Shane anymore. He has both his arms drawn tohis chest and stares to the side.

“Just… forget it. It’s dumb.”

Shane swallows hard. His hands are still fisted in the blanket,but he lets it go. Slowly, carefully he places them on Ryan’s hips.His fingertips slip under the sweater and brush warm skin and hehears Ryan gasp. The man underneath him turns his head and glances upat Shane.

“What are you-”

“Fuck.” Shane hisses. “I’msorry I made you feel like that. I didn’t- I didn’t even knowwhat I was saying. Are you sureyou want this? Or are you having some sort of cabin fever or was itbecause you could have gotten killed out there or-”

Ryan grabs his shirt and pulls him down. Shane nearly falls on topof him and barely manages to catch himself before he’s crushingRyan. Ryan doesn’t seem to care, he wraps both arms around Shane’sneck and kisses him and Shane jolts when Ryan’s warm and soft lipsmeet his own.

Shane’s hands slip under the sweater and up Ryan’s sides andRyan groans encouragingly into his mouth before his tongue slips into meet Shane’s and Shane gasps.

For a couple of minutes, theyjust make out and Ryan’s hands find their way under Shane’s shirtand they explore each other’s skin with their fingers. Ryan doesn’tseem like he wants to stop kissing Shane and Shane is downto just keep making out, but Ryan has other plans. They are chest tochest now, legs entangled and Ryan presses his hips up and the lineof his hard dick brushes Shane’s thigh. Well, if Ryan was able toget a boner, his body heat is probably doing pretty okay. Shaneactually starts to sweat now, which probably is also because Ryan ismaking needy noises against his mouth. Fuck. They didn’t haveenough clean clothes for this kind of stuff and Shane disentangleshimself for a moment, despite Ryan’s protests.

“Let me- Fuck. Ryan.”

He grabs the blanket and pulls it over Ryan’s middle. Then heducks under it and wiggles in the little blanket tent till he cankiss a strip of Ryan’s exposed stomach. He is rewarded with agroan.

Shane hasn’t planned this, but once Ryan had asked him to “warmhim up” even more, they have been heading for this moment,apparently. Before soon, he is bobbing his head under the blanket,making sure that Ryan’s exposed middle is covered by it while hehears those delicious groans and moans from above his head and feelsRyan’s hands on the back of his covered head. When Ryan comes, it’swith the whisper of Shane’s name and both hands shoved under theblanket to fist in his hair. Shane’s hands are on Ryan’s stomach,brushing against his sweater and he feels the soft material pressedagainst his cheek before long. He swallows as he comes up from underthe blanket and Ryan’s eyes are gleaming and his face is flushed, aclear improvement to the stiff, cold and blue face Shane had draggedin earlier. He is tugged into a kiss and while Ryan nips on his lips,Shane can hear him murmur things.

He catches “thank you” and “wonderful” and “stay here”and Shane tries to kiss back while also tucking Ryan back into hispants and making sure he is fully dressed.

“What about you?” Ryan gasps against Shane’s cheek as Shanepulls him in his arms and throws the blanket over them.

“Not tonight. Another time.” He kisses Ryan’s forehead, butRyan leans away to look at him. He is smiling widely.

“What?” Shane frowns. “What is it?”

“Another time.” Ryan echoes and he smiles at Shane so widelythat Shane feels like is stomach is doing a somersault.

“Ah. Right. Yes I would like to do that again if-”

“Oh hell yeah.”

Shane chuckles.

“Great.”

He pulls Ryan in his arms and is wrapped in the warmth of hissweater in return and he is sure he can’t ever wear it again. It’sRyan’s now. A hand tangles in his hair and Ryan kisses him again.

“Huh,” Shane thinks. “Probably not the only thing in hislife that is Ryan’s now.” He smiles as he kisses back, drags theblanket up over them and holds onto the other man, safe and warm onceagain.

Power tip: Remember to submit a new tax certification if you change your country or business type to receive continued payment.

How Does CJ Affiliate Work?

You should at least have a basic understanding of HTML, as you need this skill to insert the tracking code in your website.

If HTML is completely foreign to you, visit w3schools to pick up this new skill.

To find advertisers within your niche, click Advertisers > Category.

Before you start joining affiliate programs, let’s break down what these 3 columns mean.

The first column, Network Earnings, shows how an advertiser performs on CJ Affiliate.

See that green bar? It’s based on the volume of commissions paid out to publishers like you.

The longer the green bar, the better it is. This indicates the advertisers are actively paying commissions, which is a great sign.

New accounts are labeled “New” for their first three months.

The second column, Earnings per click (EPC) measures how many visitors you can drive through your site that will generate sales for advertisers.

During this 3-month and 7-day period, if there are less than 1000 and 100 clicks respectively, N/A will be displayed.

To view more details about the program, click on the advertiser. It tells you important information such as the commission rates, policies, and referral period.

Click the green ‘Join Program’ button in the third column to submit your application. During this stage, you may be required to accept the terms and conditions.

Many advertisers use automatic rules to accept or decline applications, whereas some review manually.

Responses can take from a day to a few weeks, so you may need to be patient.

Now… advertisers on CJ Affiliate are notorious for being picky.

If your website — knocks on wood — gets rejected, don’t be disheartened. Move on to the next advertiser. Who knows, they may be a better match for your blog.

Upon approval, click Get Links.

Power tip: If you pick banner, flash or text links, hover over the icon to get a preview of the ad. You can see how it will appear on your website.

Next, click the Get Code (</>) button:

There are 4 choices to choose from:

Click URL (for search engine promotion, aka Google and Bing)

Image URL (for products)

If you want to customize your code (e.g. open in new tab), only customize it via the Get Code interface on CJ Affiliate. Remember to update it. If you don’t, your changes will not take effect.

You’ll notice several advertisers’ codes include different click domains or additional parameters. Do not modify them.

CJ Affiliate will not take any responsibility if publishers modify and make a mistake with the codes.

If you want to modify them or have questions about the code, contact the relevant advertiser (not CJ Affiliate). You can do this in your dashboard: Mail > Messages > Compose.

After you finish customizing, copy the entire code:

If you select HTML, make sure you’re on Text editor mode before you paste it.

Voila, you’re done.

To verify your tracking code, go to Reports > Performance Reports.

Adjust the filters as you see fit. Let it run for a while. If your link is reporting clicks or impressions, it’s tracking.

Power tip: Watch out for invalid links on a daily basis, as offers expire or advertisers may get deactivated.

On your Tasks list, look for a “Review __ click(s) from invalid links”.

And keep a close eye on your notifications. You will be notified if a link or ad isn’t working.

If you’ve been reading CJ Affiliate reviews in forums, you’ll notice there have been numerous cases where publishers are promoting links even when advertisers have already left the program.

Don’t let this soul-crushing situation happen to you.

It’s a huge waste of time and effort.

Seventeen in Toronto Highlights (Long Post)

this is gonna be such a shit post im basically ranting bc i have a lot of seventeen feels rn (its gonna be long too)

the concert happened like 4 days ago and I’m still not over it

Okay so I live in new Brunswick so it was a 15 hour drive one way. We drove up the day before and drove home the day after.

It was tiring, but so worth it. One of the best experiences of my life(oh btw i went with a friend ^^)

(not relevant to the concert but we went to a cute Korean store called Sarah and Tom which had a MASSIVE collection of kpop albums so I bought Going Seventeen and a BTS album :) )

Alright so the concert was at a place called Massey Hall which is more like a theater than a concert stadium [lowkey looked like a place you would go to see a play or an opera or some shit]

it was a pretty small place so really no matter where you sat, you could see really well so any seat was a good seat

Me and my friend were center-balcony near the back so we had a very clear view of the stage (other than there was some tall dude in front of me so it was a bit difficult at times)

We arrived outside the venue at around 6:20 (concert started at 7) and the line to get in already went around a whole block. People were stopping to ask what was going on and apparently it made the Toronto news??

So we get in at around 6:40 and the venue is already more than half full and theyre just playing music videos and everyone was singing along

And when I say everyone was singing along i mean everyone

Honestly I only remember a few of the songs but I they played BoomBoom, Very Nice, Highlight, Healing, and Check In

I have never been happier in my entire life when every single damn person in the venue did Mingyu’s “WhhoAHHH YeaAAHHH’ part. Super. Fucking. Loud

Alright so let me tell you my dudes, It was the biggest adrenaline rush when all the lights went out and you could see the boys run out on stage in the dimness. My heart felt like it stopped.

The lights turn on and I hear Dokyum say “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Diamond Edge” but honestly I wasnt even paying attention bc I was just so blown away

Literally my very first thought upon seeing them was “They’re not real” bc the very first person I looked at was Jeonghan and I thought he was so damn gorgeous he must be fake

He’s literal ethereal. I could go off about how good looking he is. Honestly the true visual of Svt (i swear hes not my bias)

So the very first stage was Pretty U and honestly I dont remember much bc i was too busy freaking out over the fact that I was actually there and they were actually here. I just remember everyone dancing along to Dokyums “Neoneoneoneo” part and all of us doing the “Yeppeuda” part

(they performed Beautiful right after and i really dont remember much of it other than the dance in the chorus [i have such a shit memory its mainly why im making this post before ill forget it all])

So after that they went straight into Adore U (which is my fav svt song although it probably isnt anymore after habits but ill talk about that in a bit)

Oh man if you thought I went off about Jeonghans visuals let me tell you about this mans vocals. They’re so sweet. Sweeter than honey. Jeonghans part in the chorus is my absolute favorite part of the song and it sounds 10000x better live. He just sings it so flawlessly while doing the dance and overall I was just so impressed??

Jihoon also sounded amazing but like let me just take a minute and say every single member sounded fucking perfect and flawless like if you aren’t stanning Seventeen then what are you doing

And the dances were so on point too. I didn’t notice any slip ups or anybody trippin or nothing. Like you’d think they’d show signs of fatigue or being tired bc they did two shows the few days before but they were all so hyped and gave their all in every stage and they genuinely looked like they were enjoying themselves

Anyways back to Adore U

Everyone in the crowd did the “Akkinda” part and I could see Soonyoung smiling so big bc of that like he was really happy bc of it

After Adore U finished they all lined up to do their intros and introduced themselves as a group and then did their individual intros

Most of them just did a casual “Hi I’m ___” but then you had the extra™️ members

Soonyoung got us all to chant something (im not sure what it was exactly I think it was ‘rock the beat’) and then he did his usual “What time is it??” “10 Hour 10 Minute” which honestly made my life i was hoping for him to do that (i love soonyoung sm honestly most of my favorite moments of the concert were bc of him)

Dokyum also did a thing where he got everyone to scream for him

All of their intros were great but none of them were as memorable as Jihoons for me

I know a lot of people were saying ‘He’s not that small in person’, but to me he was so small and cute and I just wanted to go and hug him bc hes so freaking adorable

So Jihoon’s kinda quiet and shy in general, we know that from variety shows and such but I saw it a lot in the concert. Like when other members were talking he just stood quietly with his hands folded and there was this one part where they all ran towards the edge of the stage and gave hearts and Jihoon like covered his face a bit and looked embarrassed 

So anyways he does like this cute little “Hi guys” and I just fucking melted right there. I made an audible “awwwww” sound that my friend was like ???

I love Jihoon so much and I will forever see him as the cute and adorable little smol (boi got a voice tho holy shit)

So they talked a bit more after that about how they walked around Toronto a bit the day before and how they were impressed with the crowd dancing along to Pretty U and Mingyu taught us a little chant where they would say “Seventeen Carat” and we would go ‘clap clap Ehhhhh’ it was weird but cute

So they went straight into Still Lonely from there and I hate my brain for not remembering most of it bc its one of my favorite songs but I just remember Minghao doing Jun’s part in the last chorus and sounding amazing honestly i want an official 13 member version of that song

So after that was Very Nice which was indeed, very nice. Dancing on point. Dino and Vernons rap were amazing and the whole audience did the “Maja” part

Also dont remember much of that stage but I definitely remember the last part bc thats the part where my son, Chan, is in the front. 10/10

Okay so I have 2 favorite performances of the night. One of which was Swimming Fool. I am such a hoe for Performance unit (considering 2 of my biases are in it) so actually every performance of theirs was my fav but Swimming Fool tho. 

That song is one of my favs and I had never seen the dance before so I was basically dying the whole time. Soonyoung’s little wiggle dance and the jumping up and down dance that Chan did. The whole dance was so cute tbh Ive been re-watching that video every day since. (if youve never seen the dance pls watch this. Not my video tho) 

Alright imma talk about Soonyoung for a minute. This boi. Was so hyper the entire concert. He  was doing his usual yelling during songs and was giggling a whole lot, I noticed. (He also dabbed like 20 times and i was like someone pls stop him)

(There was one part where he went and dabbed right in front of Jihoon and i laughed a little harder than i should have)

And I’m honestly so glad that Soonyoung was feeling great the whole time bc apparently at the Chicago(?) show he wasn’t able to perform bc he was sick so we were extremely blessed that all 13 members were well and healthy to perform for us so like thank u jesus for keeping them all safe

(I was lowkey worried about that a lot before the concert bc of when I heard Hyungwon was missing parts of the tour with MX so I was like “Lord pls let it be all 13″)

anywho so all the members went to change outfits and they played a vcr (dont remember what of tho i have such a shit memory)

So yall they did Mansae next and started out with the class chairs and Dokyum was the teacher at the blackboard it was rlly cute!! ^^ And towards the end they repeated the “MansaeMansae” part and got everyone to do the dance it was such a great time

So while the rest of the group was preparing for the next stage(i presume), Chan and Seungcheol came out, just the two of them, with a gopro and said it was the camera for “Going Seventeen” and were filming the crowd and interacting with us a bit. And then they had a dance battle (Which Dino clearly won Seungcheol didnt stand a chance against Michael Chanson)

So then everybody came out and did BoomBoom which was  incredible (every stage was amazing i feel like i shouldnt have to say it) Most of the crowd even did the shirt thing which was really fun. Chan slayed his rap (i love my son)

So after that there was another vcr and the members changed outfits again

Vocal unit came out and sang We Gonna Make It Shine and boys let me say I have never fell in love with someone vocals so much before in my life. Like I’ve always loved Jihoon’s voice bc it was unique and its got a nasally tone to it and I love it, but hearing it in person made me love it 100x more

And for a while I actually thought Jihoon wasn’t singing?? Bc he just sounded so flawless, like exactly like the recording that I thought ‘maybe hes lip singing bc his throat is bad or something’ and I’m hitting myself now for even thinking that bc really Lee Jihoon is just the most amazing vocalist I’ve ever heard Boo Seungkwan who???

So yeah Vocal unit slayed even though I’ll always like the 2014 version of that song with Soonyoung better

As soon as that song ended they went straight into Don’t Listen and omg let me talk about visuals. The stage had this whole setup with a table with some fancy ass candles on it and there was a throne that Joshua was sitting in and the lighting was really eerie and I really don’t listen to that song much but im gonna listen to it every day from now on bc damn

HipHop unit had their turn next where they did some song which I had never heard of before called “On Haeng Il Chi” and it was dope then went into Check In and once again everyone did Mingyus “ohhhhhHHh yeahH” part (glorious I tell you)

Seungcheol was serving looks the whole time bc he was wearing this black suit set and he just looked so good the whole time. Honestly Seungcheol was such a tease the whole concert and i got a look at his thighs at one point and man he thicc

Vernon was also wearing this nice green shirt and I just really liked it for some reason and I wish I had taken more pictures and videos I hate myself for not doing that

AlrIGHT Performance Unit time!!! So leadin up to the concert I thought they were gonna perform “WHO” bc it was a bonus track and I just thought they would perform it for some reason so when they were all standing there ready for the song to start, the amount of confusion on my face when OMG came on… Wasn’t disappointed tho that performance was awesome

Still would like to see a performance of WHO tho I hope they’ll do that next time

And then they did Highlight and me and my friend even switched seats so I could get a better video of it bc I love that song so much. Also leading up to the concert I knew they were going to do this song but I wasn’t sure if they were going to do 13 member version or not but I’m glad it was just the 4 of them

Oh man okay I’m gonna talk about my bias, Chan, for a second. His stage presence in every song is seriously amazing. A main reason why hes my bias is bc im a huge fan of his dancing and his dance style(and he pretty cute) and seeing him perform live was incredible. it was almost overwhelming bc I couldnt believe someone this talented existed and I was watching them in their element 

Like he put his all into the dance while still executing his raps and vocals perfectly. His voice actually does sound a bit different live, like its a bit higher than I expected but he was so on point the whole night why is he such an underrated member

Okay so the members had another outfit change after this and these outfits were straight up sinful. Not to mention the first song they performed in them was equally as sinful so I’m going to on about this performance bc this was the best performance imo. I will never forget it. It’s ingrained into my brain forever

So Crazy In Love starts. Okay so I don’t listen to this song much as far as just listening to it in my free time, but I’d seen the dance before so as soon as I heard the music, I knew we were royally fucked. I wasn’t expecting this song probably bc i forgot it existed but its my new fav song guys this performance ruined me. 

So the lights come on at the very first part and these mofos are wearing tight black skinny pants (which looked like they were leather but they werent) and red silk sparkly shirts that were tucked in. Every single member looked flawless 

(Also didn’t mention this before but all of their hair was styled so well bless the stylists. I normally prefer a more natural color for hair on idols so I was glad the colorful dye had faded and most of them just went with black or brown)

But lord have mercy when the song started. Okay Chan is my bias but I could not stop staring at Soonyoung almost the entire time - minus for Chan’s “talking about love” part (which I remember doing the dance for and screaming while doing so)

Like you get Swimming Fool Soonyoung whos all cute and playful and going “YEEEE HAWW” during the song and then you get Crazy In Love Soonyoung whos all bedroom eyes and sexy glares and just everything about the way he moves is mesmerizing (i swear. Hes NOT my bias)

So getting through the first chorus is hard enough when BOTH my bias and bias wrecker are up in front doing that provocative shit and I was so conflicted on which one to stare at but I ended up staring at Soonyoung the whole time. 

And then in the second chorus when it’s just Jeonghan doing it and both me and my friend screamed so loud ugh the outfits were so perfect for this dance i wanted to D I E

And then it gets to the Part in the song yknow the “Ooohhhhh” part where they spin around and when it was Soonyoungs part to do that by himself. I don’t even have words for how that made me feel. That image is in my mind forever. You know that meme thats like “you ever wonder whats going on in someones head?” well yeah its that for me

It’s just Soonyung doing that one dance move

okay moving on Ive talked about this enough

My I was right after and I’d never seen the dance to that either and it was really beautiful and cool like idk how to describe it. It was like a very romantic type of dance and Jun and Minghao had such great chemistry on stage together they really blew me away

OKay now imma freak out some more bc Vocal Unit performed Habits. I actually recorded this whole song so I wasn’t really paying attention to what was happening on stage bc they were all just standing there with mic stand anyways. I was enjoying the audio and their lovely vocals. (Again, Jihoon really exceeded my expectations in this song. Like for some members like Dokyum and Seungkwan I know theyre gonna sound great and its not like I didn’t for the rest but I’m just still not over how good EVERYONE sounded)

So I’m enjoying them vocals and the song ends and my friend taps on my arm and points to her face and there are actual tears. This bitch really cried. At the time I was like “during Habits of all songs??” but i was so naive now I understand(I cried 2 days later listening to that song)

Hiphop unit then did If I which I remember 0 of I think I was still too shook from Vocal Unit

I just remember their little hip thrust dance and then immediately after was a ment and Soonyoung was mimicking HH units dance and giggling like an idiot and got the whole crowd to sing and dance to If I

“Ohh Toronto. Dancing good”

Then they were all arguing over which unit’s performance suited Toronto the best but then decided that they all did

And then Soonyoung dabbed

Too many times

Everyone also dabbed with him this group is a M E S S

And then they got Jeonghan to do Aegyo so he spun around and made a heart and said “Toronto I love you!” in the cutest voice possible I swear I’m in love with Jeonghans voice

And then Wonwoo did a cute little dance to which we all chanted ‘Go Wonwoo’ for and then Soonyoung dabbed

again

(It made Jihoon cringe every time)

Then Jeonghan tried to get Seungkwan to sing something and Boo was like ‘moVING ON” but he gave in and sang a bit of Hello by adele which was really nice. Like damn the acoustics in that theater were no joke bc its a theater (i assume) made for plays and stuff and him singing without any track sounded really nice.

And then they asked my boi Chan to dance so he started singing Billie Jean by Michael Jackson and doing the hipthrust dance and Seungkwan ran over like ‘nOO”. But Chan just kept dancing and singing and having a good time and being w i l d  to which Seungcheol cracked up at. He literally fell on the floor laughing

And they kept going on about how this was a totally special stage for Toronto, “only for Toronto”

So then they went on to say they were gonna perform a very “hot” song next and my clueless ass was like ‘Don’t wanna cry?’ but naw it was ROCK which I only recorded part of bc the lighting was bad and my phone sucks

But okay I can just say that Wonwoo’s voice sounds 10x deeper in person. If you thought his rap was really deep in that song, wait until you hear it live. For a long time Wonwoo was my favorite rapper in kpop and I think hes regaining that title he was very good the whole night and I really like his deep voice

and then they did Chuck which was SO AMAZING HOLY CRAP

I love that song sm in the first place but I love it even more now upon seeing and hearing it in person. I recorded a bit of that one too and love it i watch that video like 3 times a day

So then they had another short Ment where they taught us the dance to Chuck and Soonyoung doing the “brrrr” part was so adorable I wanted to die. (I feel like Im talking about Soonyoung a lot but im just so glad he was able to perform in Toronto ilysm)

So then Vernon was like “I actually have some bad new for yall” and all the members were like ‘whaaat??’ and pretending to be shocked

So Vernon goes on: “The next song is actually the last song for the night” and Soonyoung made this fake crying noise and then dabbED LIKE 5 TIMES

That was when he went over to Jihoon and dabbed right in front of him and then was like “Oh my god our last song?”

and then Vernon being the cheeky ass that he is was like “Yeah and I really dont wanna cry about it” and then him and Soonyoung went to the back of the stage to “cry” and all the other members were “crying”

Then Vernon came back and like “I wonder what our next song is tho? Hm????” and im like really bitch

So Soonyoung yelled ‘are you ready’ a few times and then they performed Don’t Wanna Cry which was INCREDIBLE 

They were all in perfect sync like im seriously amazed. These boys probably have to practice day and night to get dances like that. It was amazing

So the boys left the stage for a bit and there was a another vcr which was of all the member explaining what carats were to them and it was really sweet and my friend cried again (she cried like 3 times that night) and I died at Jihoons bc there was this short clip of him and hes just so darn cute

so they came out again and performed Shining Diamond but were wearing casual jeans and half were wearing blue shirts and the other half were wearing pink shirts and Soonyoung looked so good in that outfit bc his shirt was tucked in in the front and his hair was just so great

anyways they all looked like they had fun performing that song and Soonyoung was yelling as usual and there was one part of the dance that was super satisfying bc all the colors of the shirts lined up and it was just really nice to look at. 

And then they performed Healing which we had special banners to hold up during. There was one part I remember bc I couldnt see bc everyone was holding their banners above their heads, but Seungcheol jumped onto Mingyus back and koala hugged him for a good minute and a half and Mingyu kept trying to get him off and Seungcheol just smiled like an idiot and latched on. Eventually he got down and then grabbed his water bottle and dumped half of it onto the people in the front(splash zone)

So once that song ended, Toronto Carats had actually prepared something special for Seventeen. So certain seats had a red board on it that you would hold up after Healing ended but only so many seats had them so it made a message in the crowd and I think it was just 2 hearts and ‘1 7′ and the members looked really surprised like Vernon and Minghao were next to each other and were like :O

Seungcheol and Jeonghan looked really shocked too, overall none of them expected it

So then the goodbye ments came and I was ready to die as soon as they started. They all said the similar kind of thing like “we had a good time we’ll come again soon ect…” 

But Minghao’s was all in english and it was the cutest damn thing i have ever heard in my life. He started out with “Today I am so happy because of our Toronto Carats energy.”

and then says the cutest shit ever: “We are like friends. We look after each other and love each other” He also kept looking over at Vernon to make sure he was saying it right

and then he said something like “we care for each other” and the fkcigingf df went “and everyone, don’t be sick. Always be happy okay?” IN LIKE THE CUTEST WAY POSSIBLE I WANTED TO SCREAM I MEAN I PROBABLY DID BUT STILL

and then I only remember Chan saying something like “We’ll be back soon, and when we are you have to promise that you’ll come to our show” and then Soonyoung and Seungcheol held out their pinkies for us to promise them and I held my pinky bc I damn promise if they come to Toronto again I will be seeing them for sure. Or I’ll try my best anyways

and they all gave us hearts and said they loved us and did a bow and then all had to leave the stage and I almost cried;;

I remember Soonyoung was the last to leave the stage bc he kept waving and saying goodbye

Also I remember a person sticking their hand out one last time and it was kind funny bc I just see this random hand pop out for like a split second. I didn’t know who it was at the time, but I later found out it was Dokyum :3

So yeah, he’s not my bias, but Soonyoung made my night

Anyways. I’m still having post-concert depression. Honestly I don’t think I’ll ever be able to listen to another seventeen song again without crying. All in all, it was one of the best nights of my life and if it wasn’t for my best friend who bought the tickets and surprised me with them and her mom who drove us up the whole long way. Highlight of my summer.
