I'm stuck on the idea of being yuujis 'older sister', a neighbour just a few years older who looked after him when he was a kid that he became very close to. of course choso is ecstatic to have another younger sibling when yuuji introduces you, and you're so pretty too..... 👀👀

LOR........................as much as fantasize about older brother yuuji, he perfectly fits the role of the little brother (and in this case your younger neighbor). a little drabble is beneath the cut!

he follows you like a shadow: a grubby hand in yours or brushing the hem of your shirt, nose always in your business, tears welling in his honey eyes when you have to leave. he wears his heart on his sleeve like most kids his age, telling you that he loves you—that he’s going to be your boyfriend when he’s old enough, then marry you.

(you brush off his love confessions; you’re a few years older than him, so you know he’ll grow out of it.)

yuuji is a daily fixture in your life until he’s in his teens and moves away to attend a boarding school in tokyo. you miss him, of course, but you know he has to lead his own life. and honestly? it makes you happy that he will be able to branch out, and grow up into the wonderful young man you know he will be.

several years pass by. you go to university and get a boring desk job in tokyo that pays the bills so you can afford to live alone. you exchange letters with yuuji exactly three times a year: on your birthday, on his birthday, and on new years.

you’d be lying if you said you didn’t miss him—that you aren’t disappointed that he has never visited you. he’s vague about his job, but he seems to be doing well, so you try not to worry.

it’s a chilly saturday morning in april when you hear a knock at the door. you have no idea who it could be, as you rarely have visitors. when you look out your peephole, you gasp, then unlatch the locks to fling the door open.

without any words, you’re wrapped up in yuuji’s warm embrace, surprisingly strong arms anchored on your waist. you bury your face in his neck, tears staining his red sweatshirt. neither of you say anything for several moments, caught up in emotions.

when you pull away, he wipes your wet cheeks. “i missed you,” he says with the same beam that you remember.

“i missed you, too,” you sniffle.

“sorry to barge in on you like—”

“yuu! what happened to your face?” the old nickname slips before you can stop it, and you reach up to grab his chin, lowering him to your level.

two large scars cut across his face, and your chest tightens with anxiety. but yuuji just chuckles.

“i had a bad fall. it looks much worse than it was—promise.”

as though you’re suddenly aware of your proximity and his handsomeness, you drop your hands.

“okay...if you say so.”

silence stretched between you for a few beats, and—for the first time—you see that he has a companion.

“oh my god i’m so sorry; how rude of me!” you exclaim.

the man—taller and wider than yuuji, with a birthmark (you think, anyway) across his nose—simply smiles. he’s utterly beautiful. but something about him unsettles you...

“please, do not worry. i know my brother is happy to be reunited with his childhood friend.”
