'headcanon' - love (for Charley and Daryl)

send me a word plus ‘headcanon’ and i’ll give a headcanon based on that word. - @lunarruled

Charley feels that love doesn't always have to be a romantic kind of love to let people in. Charley loves their friends. Some of them even make it to the status of family in their heart. So when Charley loves you, you're pretty much screwed as they won't ever not love you. Or if they do ever not love you, then you'd have to do something seriously horrible to cause them to cut you off entirely. And even then, if you apologized, they'd probably forgive you. They'd never forget what you did, but they're the royalty at second (and third and fourth and fifth and etc) chances.

Daryl didn't know what love truly was until the Outbreak happened. He always knew he cared about his brother and his family to a degree, but he never felt love for them. So when Carol decided he was worthy of her trust and friendship, he started to learn what love was. And then slowly the others allowed him into their hearts and now he has a true family. It's not a blood family, but he sees them all as family anyway. And he loves them and would do anything for them. Even risk his own life.

Monkey- Describe your muse’s sense of humor. How often do they laugh in a given day?

Charley's sense of humor is pretty middle-of-the-road. They will laugh at things they find funny but won't laugh at someone else's expense. Laughing is a good way for them to decompress so they try not to take everything seriously and allow humor to touch them whenever it feels appropriate.

Love Puppy- When in a relationship, how much attention does your muse crave from their partner? Can they not stand being without them, or do they need time for themselves?

Charley loves a healthy balance of doing things on their own and with their partner. They don't need to be up each other's butts all the time to be content and happy. They need space and hope that their partner would need it too.

Black Cat- Does your muse believe in omens? When have they ever received one, and did they act on it or ignore it?

No. Charley doesn't believe in omens.

Seal- What does your muse find incredibly adorable? What traits does something have to have for your muse to consider something cute?

Charley finds it incredibly adorable when their partner isn't aware of how sweet/cute/etc they are. They love when they smile at things that bring them joy and don't care if anyone else finds it weird or wrong.

Love Frog- What physical and behavioral traits endear your muse to their partner? What traits are likely to scare your muse away from pursuing a relationship?

Charley loves when their partner is confident but knows when to ask for help. They want them to know their limits and know they can depend on them. They would find controlling behavior as a red flag and would run as far and as fast as they could away from that relationship.

Absolutely not.

Charley is a teacher and believes most of what he's told by children. They find it rare that children lie.

Charley doesn't do whining. They can't stand clingy. And both of those things will and do get on their nerves.

Daryl has a pretty dark sense of humor, probably from growing up with an abusive dad and brother. He laughs rarely in a given day. He has to find something extremely funny to give in to that impulse.

Daryl needs his space. He likes being with his partner, but he still needs time to decompress daily and will take it badly if his partner doesn't give him the space he needs.

Daryl doesn't truly believe in omens but he also doesn't make fun of them. He's not sure what he believes because he's seen things, man. He's seen things.

Daryl finds anyone that can be reduced to a puddle of mush over an animal to be adorable. He loves to hear his partner baby talk to animals or even babies. It just makes him happy inside. Even though he doesn't show it often.

Daryl needs someone that will be able to pull their own weight. He doesn't do needy or clingy well at all. He doesn't want to have to constantly take care of his partner. If they are too clingy, he'll likely withdraw and will end the relationship prematurely.

Andrea was as close as she could be with her parents and with Amy (because of the age difference) given that they didn't live close to one another. She did call and would text as often as she could. Growing up, she was close to her cousins who were close to her age, but as life happened, they became distant. She'd see them at family reunions.

Beth is extremely close to her family. This includes cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and friends that she considered family like Otis and Patricia.

Carol's parents were only children, so she had no extended family other than her grandparents. She was close to them when they were alive. More so her father's parents as they lived closer than her mother's parents.

Charley was close to their extended family. They had one aunt and uncle on their mother's side and two aunts and one uncle on their mother's side. There was a handful of cousins on both sides. They were always in and out of one another's lives as kids and young adults. Some were closer than others.

Daryl wasn't close to his extended family. None of them were good to him, and he'd rather pretend they didn't exist.

Andrea would visit the gardens part to see the different kinds of flowers and plants.

Please Note: a muse wasn't specified so I gave a brief wishlist plot for each of my muses. I hope that was okay.

Andrea doesn’t get left behind at the farm and never meets Michonne. She and Rick grow closer after Lori’s death and eventually get together. She’s the reason that Glenn is killed instead of Daryl.

Beth survives Grady Memorial with a superficial wound to her arm/shoulder and reunites with Maggie. They’d have to work through Maggie’s overprotectiveness and see that Beth has grown up a lot and can take care of herself and make decisions regarding her future.

Carol and Rick survive a complete decimation of Alexandria before they meet Negan. So the two of them along with Judith and Carl survive up in the mountains in a cabin they fortify to keep the kids safe. They grow closer while grieving the ones they lost.

Charley and Sammy happen upon Alexandria before the rest of the group show up. He’s allowed to teach and grows close to the kids. He and Beth grow closer once she arrives and starts to teach the children music lessons and piano lessons.

Charley meets Shane after she loses both her husband and her son. She’s somewhat cold because she doesn’t want to grow closer to anyone after losing the love of her life and her child. Shane is hesitant to allow her to come along with him, but she shows him she can watch his back and protect him and he agrees to do the same for her.

Daryl goes after Carol when the prison falls. They’re not there when the prison is attacked and return to it decimated and have to go after the others and save them from Terminus. They grow closer and get together while out on the road together just the two of them.

Rick and Lori are divorced at the time of the fall. He’s not shot, but he’s not with them when they escape King County when it falls. He manages to find them the same way that he does in the show, and they manage to work things out because Lori’s current partner is killed during the initial days of the Outbreak by being bitten and turning and trying to kill Carl.

Shane leaves the farm as soon as he knows Carl is okay. He cannot live with the fact that he almost destroyed Rick’s marriage and with what he did to Lori and the CDC, and feels they’d be better off without him there to remind them of the things that happened in Rick’s absence. He happens upon Terminus at the same time as they do and helps Carol rescue them all.

Sophia is found by Daryl and reunited with Carol. She idolizes Daryl and wants to learn to do all the things that he does and becomes a productive member of the group all the while scheming to get Daryl and Carol together.
