this-bird submitted the beautifully preserved home that belonged to her grandparent’s in-laws. They restored it themselves and did a great job. It’s a 1903 7bd. 5.5ba. Colonial Revival in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that sold recently for $1.049M. 

What an elegant entrance hall. I can’t believe how they restored this themselves- they did an amazing job and you can see that they really loved this house. Look at that woodwork.

Magnificent ceiling in the sitting room. It’s amazing that the delicate sculpted design is still intact.

The other sitting room has a gorgeous fireplace. The pocket doors are still there, too. 

Isn’t that a fancy coffered ceiling? More wonderful millwork and an unusual fireplace.

Beautiful library. 

The kitchen remodel has new cabinets that match the other wood in the home and it followed the original footprint.

The incredible stairs. That stained glass window.

The fireplaces in this home are all different and just stunning. Look at this one. 

Love the vintage bath. Look at the door on the right.

It’s so nice to see cheery bedrooms in historic houses.

There’s nothing I admire more than vintage baths. Look like they changed out the toilet, but kept the original hanging tank. Love that.

Lovely 1914 home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania- Look at the drapes and chandelier on the porch, isn’t that elegant? It has 7bd. 5ba., and priced at $1.695M.

Open the original door w/a leaded glass window and to the right is the sitting room thru double pocket doors.

Real estate photos really piss me off. They show a red room w/a white fireplace as soon as you walk in, but where is it? Instead they show a completely different, but beautiful, sitting room. 

The dining room is pretty and bright. 

Here’s a hallway outside the kitchen with chalkboard walls.

The kitchen was renovated, and it’s big, modern, and has pretty cabinets. Doesn’t really match the house, but it’s nice. 

That’s a very interesting table and a cute dining space.

They went very modern with the powder room. Look at the faucet coming out of the tile wall. 

This home is very bright, even the stairs are well-lit.

The hall that the bedrooms branch off of is decorated.

The main bd. is  very nice, but I notice that only the fireplace mantels exist, and and they may not be the originals.

In this bath, they went vintage and it looks great. 

Is is also a lovely light bd. 

Lovely large bath mixes modern and vintage. 

Very cute bd. 

This bath has a comfy window seat.

The finished basement family room has a beautiful original fireplace.

They did a lot of work replacing the plumbing.

The yard consists of a stone patio and another curtained porch. No lawn to mow.
