so many of my tarantulas have been maturing out as male recently and it's bummin me out :(
i just noticed my a.avic has tibial hooks now, yesterday i noticed my p.cambridgei has them too. my male t.albo died last week, i also lost my mature male p.irminia last month
i bought most of my tarantulas in 2020/2021, and with the average male tarantula having a lifespan of 2-4 years.. it seems like half my collection is starting to die out this year 😭

every single child in my life is an interesting little person. every single child in my life is funny, and charming, and talented, and so, so, so nice to have a conversation with. i love them so much
#my niece did some really good art today don't text#she's 16 and the oldest of the kids in my life#youngest is 2 and having a conversation with her always makes my day better. she's developing her sense of humor already#the 10 year old is the kid i've had the longest- her whole life in fact. 11 yr old 15 yr old and 16 yr old are my sister in law's niblings#and i know that would make you think that they arent my niblings but my brother and his wife do most of the raising of those kids#they have a problem they call my brother not the people who are technically their parents#and i live in indiana a month out of the year so i know these kids. they spend the entire month recapping me on their entire year#and it's. it's so easy to see that they don't get listened to at home. like they just want someone to listen to them. theyre just kids#anyway im on one#mer rambles

reading psychiatric evaluations from when i was as young as 5 years old might not have been the best decision i could have made last night
#meins#(i haven't had therapy in several weeks and i won't for another month i need to get things out ignore me)#the one from when i was 5.5 says i am not autistic which is hilarious and my parents didn't really buy it either back then#i was a very very difficult child#from the moment i was born i wouldn't stop screaming#but it also makes me sad to see how troubled i was#i think my parents started taking me to doctors for my behaviour when i wasn't even 2 years old#i was in so much anguish from such an early age and it aches to think of little Paula#i know i was in a very bad place when i was 11 but to see in a psychiatrist's report that i said#i would rather die than have to go to school was still chilling#i shouldn't read those things#they put me in a very weird mental and emotional state and i feel like i failed myself from back then#in many ways it did get better but in others it hasn't and i remember always telling myself that#when i was that age or when i was in that phase of my life things would be better#i kept clinging to that hope that one day i wouldn't be as lonely but it never improved permantently#i gave up on telling myself that but the hope hasn't disappeared and i dread the disappointment once again

"A clinical trial studying severe allergic reactions in the U.K. is being called “life-transforming.”
Five United Kingdom National Health Service (NHS) hospitals are participating in the £2.5 million ($3.2 million) trial to help patients live with their food allergies.
The study is being funded by the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, Sky News reported. The foundation was formed in the memory of Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, who died in 2016 after eating a baguette that had sesame in it...
The trial is studying clinical oral immunotherapy treatments in which patients are given small doses of the food to which they are allergic to build up their tolerance. The food is given under medical supervision by trained staff, The Telegraph reported.
The study has 139 people participating who have allergies to peanuts or cow’s milk. They range in age from 2 to 23 years old, the BBC reported.
The Food Standards Agency said 2 million people in the U.K. have a diagnosed food allergy. In the U.S., about 5.5. million children have a food allergy, the National Institutes of Health reported.
One 11-year-old who was diagnosed with a severe peanut allergy when he was an infant can now eat six peanuts.
A 5-year-old with a milk allergy can drink 120 ml of milk every day and can enjoy a daily hot chocolate, the BBC reported.
“To have a patient who has had anaphylaxis [Note: Anaphylaxis is an allergic reaction so severe that it's potentially fatal without immediate treatment. It is very common with peanut allergies in particular. x] to 4mls of milk to then tolerate 90mls within six to eight months is nothing less than a miracle,” Sibel Donmez-Ajtai, a pediatric allergy consultant and principal investigator at Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, said, according to Sky News.
The final results of the study are expected to be released in 2027.

sigh I wanna start a new blazing blade run...I had one going but I love nothing more than starting new runs of fe games, and the further away I get from a particular run the more likely I am to scrap it...y’know I’ve never finished Sacred Stones? I think I had like two maps to go, and for some reason I lost interest for a year or so and when I came back I restarted instead. I kinda get it, for me the fun of the fe games is making all the decisions about how to level your units, how to build supports and how to clear maps without losing anyone, and the further along in the game it gets the less potential there is for those decisions. And yeah the allure of just finishing the damn thing is still there, but it’s less of a draw than the start of the game where anything is possible. And with Blazing Blade I haven’t played Hector’s mode yet, so I wanna give that a shot (I think I was still in Lyn’s section on my second playthrough). And I still say Blazing Blade is my favorite fe game ever even tho I’ve only ever beaten it once. A lot of it comes down to convenience, it’s much easier to boot up 3H on the switch than basically any other fe game.
of course what I should really do is make another stab at Chapter 3 of Genealogy. Psh, as if.
