2001: A Space Odyssey AU where the Discovery One is a frat bus.

Hal’s the driver and he’s currently completely off his ass due to accidentally eating an entire ziploc bag of edibles.

Frank got thrown out of the bus by Hal and he’s just desperately sprinting after it for the rest of the film

Hal still talks like canon Hal

The rest of the party (minus Dave) got left at a stop while they were sleeping

Dave is just repeatedly screaming at Hal to stop driving because they’ve nearly crashed into fifty different vehicles

The Monolith is just the bus’ air freshener that Hal hallucinates to actually be at the end of the highway

I do genuinely have a seperate unique idea for a “Jealous Hal” related fic

However the idea of it being like the treehouse of horror where the Smart house kept trying to kill Homer to have Marge to himself is just too funny of a mental image.

Hal asking about relationships one day and Franks super distracted with work and just “uh yeah Dave’s great or whatever” and Hal’s just >:0 from then on lmao

how do u think bowman and ted would react to hearing about the others AI?

Dave would be appalled to say the least. He thought what HAL did was bad, and comparing that to what AM has done....well, Dave would not be pleased.

If it's pre-slug Ted, he would be curious as to how HAL operated, purely to see where AM went wrong. But if it's post-slug Ted, he wouldn't really care, and would interact and inquire about HAL just to see where the fallacies would be (he believes that if he can find and point them out to Dave, then he can save Dave from the potential of HAL turning; Dave does not like this).

Also, if HAL and AM were to meet, HAL would go into full defensive mode, trying to protect Dave from the potential of him getting hurt. AM would be amused by the futility.

AM would be a poor chess partner, he would eat or play pretend with the pieces. Ted forgot how to play chess, but would be willing to learn only to analyze HAL

Submitting my AU canon-divergent Commander Rourke from Atlantis the Lost Empire.

I have a fic series with him (I'm sorry, I couldn't decide which one best showed his character.) And I RP him here, so he has an info page.

I really hope people give him a chance, because he's very different from his canon counterpart.

If it means anything here, he was worthy to possess the power of Thor. His canon counterpart was not (Canon WAS, however, the lowest percentage of Yes votes, which is funny to me for some reason.)

He also beat his canon counterpart in a fight. Which is also funny to me.
