Back in 2009 I would only draw anthropomorphic/furry(i din’t even knew exactly what this was) characters. Now a days I almost never draw like this, but I had to go back to my roots to gets this challenge done. I must say i really enjoyed tbh i might revisit some old characters again! <3

Saw some cool folks comparing their end of last decade art with end of this decade, so i skulked around my old deviantart for something i hadn't shame-deleted XD the 2019 version isn't fully rendered, only had the energy for a doodle today (got a tooth extracted tuesday and i'm still a bit sore -.-) but the proportions are already a huge improvement and i'm pretty happy with it. Plus i already redrew my very oldest digital art not too long ago and went all out, so i don't feel too bad about it ;p I was in 8th/9th grade during 2009, lots of changes, the transition from middle school to high school, dealing with bullies on the daily, but falling in love with digital art all the same. It's been a wild 10 years ya'll, i can tell you, i would not recognise 2009 me, and she for sure wouldn't recognise me. I stop arting for long stretches of time but always found myself coming back to it. Loved the #10yearchallenge so here’s one where I tried to quickly recreate the same sketch from 10 years ago. I see so many subtle differences that all add up to something almost unrecognizable. Overall a better understanding of anatomy is key and how to express 3D shapes in 2D so everything doesn’t look so flat.
