Fox News hosts did not believe 2020 election fraud claims, according to a $1.6 billion Dominion defamation suit.

According to court filings in a $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against the network, Fox News hosts were concerned about allegations of voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election made by guests who were allies of former President Donald Trump.

According to an excerpt from an exhibit that remains sealed, Tucker Carlson told a producer about the attorney on Nov. 16, 2020, "Sidney

Powell is lying" about having evidence for election fraud. The internal communication was included in a redacted summary judgment brief filed by Dominion Voting Systems attorneys on Thursday.

Carlson also referred to Powell as a "unguided missile" and "dangerous as hell" in a text. Meanwhile, fellow host Laura Ingraham informed Carlson that Powell is "he's a complete nut. Nobody will collaborate with her. Rudy is in the same boat "Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York and a Trump supporter.

Meanwhile, in a deposition, Sean Hannity stated, "that whole narrative that Sidney was pushing, I did not believe it for one second," according to Dominion's filing.

Dominion, based in Denver, sells electronic voting hardware and software and is suing both Fox News and its parent company, Fox Corporation. Dominion claimed that some Fox News employees purposefully exaggerated false claims that Dominion had influenced votes in the 2020 election, and that Fox provided a platform for guests to make false and defamatory statements.

In a counterclaim unsealed Thursday, attorneys for the cable news giant argued that the lawsuit violates the First Amendment.

They claim Dominion has advanced "novel defamation theories" and is attempting to obtain a "staggering" damage figure in order to generate headlines, chill protected speech, and enrich Dominion's private equity owner, Staple Street Capital Partners.

"Dominion filed this lawsuit to punish FNN for reporting on one of the most important stories of the day—allegations by the sitting President of the United States and his surrogates that the 2020 election was tainted by fraud," according to the counterclaim. "The allegations themselves were newsworthy."

In their own summary judgment brief, Fox attorneys stated that Carlson repeatedly questioned Powell's claims in his broadcasts. "She got angry and told us to stop contacting her," Carlson told viewers on November 19, 2020.

Prosecutors investigating former President Donald Trump’s influence on the 2020 election in Georgia can compel South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham to testify, a federal court ruled Thursday.

Graham’s claim of immunity to the investigation’s questioning was rejected by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit in Atlanta.

The three-judge panel ruled that Graham can’t be questioned on his professional communications associated to the legislature, however his private conversations with Trump and other Georgia officials are fair game.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis filed petitions with the judge overseeing the special grand jury as part of her investigation into what she alleges was “a multi-state, coordinated plan by the Trump Campaign to influence the results of the November 2020 election in Georgia and elsewhere.”

Willis, who took this unusual step of requesting a special grand jury earlier this year, has confirmed that she and her team are looking into a January 2021 phone call during which Trump pushed Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to “find” the votes needed for him to win the state.

She has stated the team is also looking at a November 2020 phone call between Graham and Raffensperger, the abrupt resignation of the U.S. attorney in Atlanta on Jan. 4, 2021, and comments made throughout December 2020 Georgia legislative committee hearings on the election. Raffensperger and other state officials have already testified before the special grand jury.

The investigation is separate from that being carried out by a congressional committee that has been analyzing the events surrounding the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, as Congress was certifying Biden’s victory, in addition to the Department of Justice’s own sprawling probe.
