Yes I am out of touch but yes I did just learn that (at least some) people are referring to the Eddie/Chrissy ship as ‘hellcheer’ and like, what. Are you kidding me. I have no particular feelings toward the characters or the ship, but that portmanteau is amazing. That sounds like the title of a Christopher Pike novel from 1989. I can picture it in that slasher-y typeface in hot pink foil lettering, splashed across a cover with a cutout window looking onto a painting of a lit-from-below creepily-smiling pretty blonde cheerleader. I can picture the inner cover when you open up the front cover with the cutout, the reveal that that cheerleader’s standing on a pyramid of dead bodies and holding up severed heads like pom-poms. Finished I'm Glad My Mom Died on the walk from my 2nd bus stop to work this morning. The whole last 13 or 14 chapters. Granted, none of those chapters are longer than 3 pages and one of them was only 1 page, but still.

I'd say it and Bad Dream by Nicole Maines and Doppelganger by Naomi Klein are the top contenders for my favorite book I finished this year, but I've still got 6 months and 28 days to go, so who knows.

honestly i'll be glad when the year is over because it has sucked major ass

this is nothing really, but today is my late mother’s birthday. she passed the away the year i turned 18, and when the world was shutting down. 2020. my birthday was earlier this month and 4 years ago i was taking care of her because she was deteriorating before my eyes. she ended up passing away later that year from necrotic bowls. i often think about how much pain she was in, and how when we were told that she was going to pass away, i could already tell.

but today is my moms birthday, so im also going to mention some of her highlights. #1 SHE BEAT CANCER IN 2016 #2 she literally supported me through my darkest days, i was literally suicidal and she would just sit with me all night and watch reality tv with me lol #3 she had such a big heart, she helped literally everyone, even if they ended up fucking her over in the end. she still kept an open heart to people, and gave chances #4 she was SO fucking crafty. anything where she get creative, she did. painting? yep! crochète? you ‘betcha! woodwork? uh-huh! #5 she was the best mother i could have ever asked for, and i’m glad to have gotten to experience someone with so much love in them.
