It’s time to break open this relic and get stuck into building an army for Warhammer: The Old World!

I’ve had this Warhammer Fantasy 6th Edition starter set for years, and was waiting for the right time to open it, that time has come as I’ve been really enjoying seeing all TOW armies springing up everywhere. This was the set that got me into Warhammer almost 25 years ago, and the two armies inside (The Empire and Orcs & Goblins) have always been my favourite factions for that reason.

I do have a large Orcs & Goblins army, but never managed to paint an Empire army fully, so now is the time to achieve that hobby goal!

I’ll be painting the army in the classic colour scheme of Talabheim, as that was what drew me all those years ago. The Orcs will be painted in the classic scheme too, but Empire will be the main focus for the next while.

Can’t wait to get the army started!

I backed the Dark Souls board game on kickstarter back in the day and have just been sitting on them after seeing how crappy the plastic quality and rules were. I've very slowly been painting them for other rpgs, here's Solaire

The Temple of Swellings is a Turnip28 cult. It’s conceit is at any time you can choose to toss of The Swelling, a hideous root that bursts out of any weak unit on the table and then proceeds to grow and grow and grow. Any unit nearby runs the risk of getting swallowed up by the thing.

This is my conception of the Swelling. A sort of biblically-accurate angel turnip from hell. WIPs below the fold.

After a week of steady painting, I’ve finished the lovely Realmscape Objectives set for AoS.

These are awesome little pieces, full of details and character. I painted them up to match the rest of my AoS terrain, so they should fit in nicely.

I’m particularly happy with how the large banner turned out, I painted it to match the colours of my Anvils of the Heldenhammer army.
