anyways i had work this Freedom Day, so i just kinda chilled at home mindin me business while i waited for the time to strike . in the meantime though, i saw my teammate and bestie Zolder playing vivid/stasis this morning, so i hopped on and did some worldcross plays with him!!! i might've maybe sucked at it a little, but i think i got some good practice and sightreads out of it! (as well as an SS on stop-motion [ENCORE 15+])!

slight and obligatory Arcaea scores today: an awesome upscore on Chronostasis, and an INSANE 9958 ON BUCHIGIRE BERSERKER!!! GRAHHHHHHH

the grind continues stronger.... except this time i finally don't have work!!! yay!!! thus: Ignotus (FTR-9, MAX-28), Faint Light (Arcaea Edit) (FTR-9, MAX-32), and Floating World (FTR-9, MAX-13) as FTR PMs #147, #148, and #149 respectively!

but even more than that, i decided to spend a bit of time grinding out some of my boss songs to reduce my AAs and stuff, and somehow i got... AN EX+ ON AEGLESEEKER (FTR-11) AS FTR EX+ #2!!! AND A FULL RECALL ON OUROBOROS (FTR-10+)!!! WITH ONLY 3 FARS!!! AND THIS VERY SLIGHT UPSCORE ON BUCHIGIRE BERSERKER (FTR-10+), ALL OF WHICH NETTING ME +0.02 PTT TODAY ALONE!!!

also tried getting some v/s practice in for the coming tourney, but i quickly got demotivated and wasn't really feeling it... though i got this sick MAX-12 AC on F1055 (FINALE 13)!!!

some slight & smaller PM progress before work today!! Dancin' on a Cat's Paw (FTR-9, MAX-29), Equilibrium (in honor of Gigi Murin's debut and her papa being the artist of the jacket) (FTR-9, MAX-39), GOODTEK (Arcaea Edit) (FTR-9, MAX-19), and Kanagawa Cyber Culvert (FTR-9, MAX-16) as FTR PMs #110, #111, #112, and #113 respectively!!!

i also played a bunch of vivid/stasis to try catching up as much as possible before the chapter 4 update (spoiler: i didn't), and didn't get many scores out of it, except for this AC on Tormented World (FINALE 13+, MAX-21) and this super scuffed FC on grode(decoherence) (FINALE 14) too!!!

June 11th, 2024 - Arcaea, DDR A3, vivid/stasis

finals day.,.. oughhhhhh (but it okay !!! because i PASSED BOTH OF THEM GRAHHHHH I'M SET TO GRADUATE NOW!!!!)

to celebrate: i tried grinding world mode with Maya and got World Vanquisher as my random selection (but i got +0.01 potential as a result!!! we back in here yo!!!)

oh yeah, but (second) most importantly (you'll see why after this score), today was DDR WORLD RELEASE DAY!!! RIGHT AFTER ALL MY FINALS!!! so after recovering quickly at home from chugging a 16oz can of Red Bull, i headed off to Round 1 to await the Grand Release!!!

...it sadly didn't happen at the scheduled time, so i waited a little more and... nothing . i played a few sets on my own to give A3 a final farewell, but the release wouldn't come until the dead of night when i had ALREADY left back home . curses...

buuuut fortunately to make up for it, VIVID/STASIS WORLDCROSS PLAY CAME OUT!!! AND I WAS SUPER READY TO PLAY IT FIRST!!! while waiting for a lobby, i also AC'ed the new Credits [Encore 13+] chart!!! AND i MAXED WATAGASHI RUSH [FINALE 12] !!!! WE ARE SO BACK CHAT

finally got in a lobby and due to my low progress, i couldn't play a lot of the songs, but i DID play Peak Chart Peak Song as my very first world cross play... amazing

January 5th, 2024 - vivid/stasis, ProSeka

Day... 4... of tourney training...

Too... busy... preparing for winter quarter...

Want... to... kill myself...

It feels like I'm doing too little, yet it feels like too much to handle. Today's kind of a slower day in terms of rhythm gaming, as most of my time was dedicated to scavenging all my college prep records to apply for all the scholarships and financial aid and boring stuff that I really want to avoid, but really can't.

But alas, this is a rhythm game account and not a vent account, so I'll keep most of it in my journal away from prying eyes. Instead, take this insane MAX-3 AC on BADSECRET ENC-13 (the tournament qualifier this time) that I got at night on my normal keyboard (fun fact: i've been playing on a sdvx minicon from hong kong this whole time and it's been working amazingly), and scram!

(BONUS: To apply for a charting position for vivid/stasis (I did not get accepted, unfortunately), I uploaded this chart I made for ProSeka and finished back in August 22, 2023, but couldn't upload because of the broken hitsounds on Android... but now that I had an iPhone, I figured out how to sideload, got Sonolus working on it, logged back into my account and recorded this auto gameplay of my very first ProSeka chart for your viewing pleasure! Check it out, I had a ton of fun charting it and am still proud of how it turned out!)

January 4th, 2024 - vivid/stasis

TOURNEY TRAINING DAY 2!!! Now with more random charts!!!

Exploring more of the charts I haven't played (and a few that I need for some of the Final Landing unlocks), I found a few to practice and test my strength with tech and reading, especially with Prime as pictured here! (I even got an FC on it with really good acc!)

I also really wanna get a MAX on Asymmetry, but I'm not sure if I should hold off on getting any MAXs when I still have so many 13s-15s to practice and learn... But I feel I'm getting better at them, with this 11-1-0-0 run on BADSECRET FIN-13 (not the ENCORE that's a tourney qualifier), nothing can get in my way anymore! (Except for when I get into the 14s)

(btw, reason you aren't seeing any mobile scores for games like Arcaea or Proseka is because I ate them a-I mean, I've been getting all my time sucked up by Geometry Dash and it's impossible to play anything else... I have so much grinding to do else where that I just don't wanna do!!!)

January 3rd, 2024 - vivid/stasis

Okay, outside fun's over. Now, it's time to stay home all day, do nothing, and focus exclusively on that tournament training! Well, not literally, though I can't seem to get myself started on anything at the moment. I did try reading a book and started watching Spy x Family again! But ultimately, those were crushed by having to catch up on my journal and all the writing I wanted to do, but was too exhausted to finish.

Regardless! I may not have enough going on in my outside life, but I have plenty going on in preparation of this amazing, intense, once-in-a-lifetime tournament! Especially now more than ever, since I finally decided to visit the Chapter 2 folder and unlocked all the songs + episodes with the surplus of battery I had from previous tourney practice. Starting it off strong with a MAX attempt (and failure) on a 12+ (Signals Afar FIN) (At least I got a MAX-6!! ...as well as this 1-1-0-1 score)

But clearly I was just getting started, as this warmup would lead to my greatest accomplishment in the game so far... this MAX on INFiNiTE ENERZY -Overdoze- FIN-13, my highest level so far...! Insanely amazing and promising score, but there's definitely more to accomplish than just this!

Enter one of the Chapter 2 songs I unlocked in my purchase spree... BPM FIN-12+ by Schwank!!! Very goofy attempts were done on this chart (including a 5-0-0-1 and this MAX entering the break), but I walked away happily with a MAX-2 AC after just an hour of attempts! #2 in the world, right below Aurica! (ouch)

And finally, a few re-attempts on 3.1V.C1 FIN-14+ to make up for my horrible performance prior, eventually finishing with this slight upscore to a near-SS+ (MAX-110... still not quite there yet...)

September 21st, 2024 - vivid/stasis, IIDX 31, GITADORA, SDVX EG, Arcaea, DDR World, SMX, PIU Phoenix, Music Diver

alas! tourney day ended yesterday, and -- while we did lose (ofc) -- we still got to try the finale and retry the encore for Synthesis., which was now released publicly with the tournament!!! i was still kinda traumatized from the experience that was the encore tourney sightread, so i instead went straight to play the somewhat easier finale... and i managed to take away a sweet MAX-11 AC from it!!! after that, i overcame my fears of the encore and tried it for a bit... yup, just as traumatizing as i remembered. but hey, i gave it a few more tries and managed to get an FC with 5 greats, i'll take it!!! (maybe i'll get the AC sometime later, but i'm not really feeling it rn...

no matter though, because since today was a work-free weekend day (as rare as a blue moon for me until i finish my stay)... i was free to go to round 1 and video game!!! so once i finished testing both my tripod and my headphones, i packed my tote bag and headed straight to gaming... which i Deeply Regretted because Oh My God there were so many people it was impossible to get any set in... eugh, but we managed! only got to play one set of iidx total, but i got two neat clears and an AA fail on Bahram Attack -猫又Master Remix- [SPA-10]!

following this, i saw a free/abandoned credit on the GITADORA Drummania cab... i'd kinda been eyeing the lately, but have only ever caught it when the area was full of DRS players or when it was e-amuse maintenance time . but now, i could play it without even inserting any credits!!! and so i did!!! got some insanely good scores too, as if i'd been improving hard at the game without even playing !!!

and now, a brief share of sdvx scores!!! unsurprisingly with such a busy arcade, the sdvx session was also extremely busy, so i kinda had to line up in a card line and wait my turn a few times... but once it was freed up, i hopped on and started gaming on a few 17s -- couldn't get the excessive clear on Death by Glamour (though i might be able to get it later...), but i got a VF upscore and AAA on the MXM-17!!! as well as a sightread EXC clear and AAA+ on Lost Emotion feat. nomico [MXM-17]!!!

a few arcaea shenanigans while waiting my turn between sdvx sets, including somewhat of a choke on BUCHiGiRE Berserker [FTR-10+] as well as a massive upscore on Bookmaker (2D Version) [BYD-10]!!! i hate that ending So Much i could so easily get a PM if it weren't for that stupid out of bounds pattern urghh

wanted to play some piu but it was (you guessed it) busy, so i instead played some SMX after some ddr friends who were playing it finished and offered the cab up!! i may kinda suck at it, but DMT is such a banger oh my god i need to try the Wild chart sometime (plus a 95k on Beautiful Man -The Eurobeat Remix- [FULL 22]

PIU cab freed itself up so i hopped straight on it, not really expecting much but just wanting to play some... my absolute Shock when i actually managed to get some neat scores like an AAA+ on MURDOCH D20, and a sightread AA+ clear on Hercules D20!!! feeling good about my skill now, i tried to play the Quree Set now that i was reinvigorated and actually cleared every song from the Fake D16 to the Fake D19!!! (it seems i used up all my stamina after those songs though, as i couldn't get any good clears afterwards...

lastly, while i don't have any scores (only a video), i played some music diver too!!! mostly just for mesmerizer, but i had a ton of fun sightreading the chart!!! i still have to cut the video and compress it so i can upload it to twitter, but i'll do so once i'm free...! for now, enjoy this tripod test video of me playing Synthesis. welp . today's the day... not only is it my university's orientation day, but it's also my long-awaited tourney gameday for the vivid/stasis Sunrise Showdown '24, between us (Rate Limited Gamers) and 3/4s DA24!!! (or DA18 maybe) . being stuck at this orientation all morning and having nothijng else to do, i got a few upscores on some existing PMs -- including Solitary Dream (FTR-8+, MAX-25 -> MAX-15) and Vexaria (FTR-7, MAX-19 -> MAX-9) !!!!

shortly after that, however, was tourney day... and i was NOT READY AT ALL ACTUALLY . I NEEDED TO VOMIT OH MY GOD I SHOULDN'T HAVE DRANK THAT RED BULL . LAWD HELP ME . but actually, it was gonna help me through this hell of a tourney, so it was a Good Thing Actually!!! joining the team VC and testing out our streams, we sat down to practice some charts just before the tourney (amidst all of the super annoying delays from DA18's end), and we were Completely Locked In by the time we actually had to go in for the tourney .

song 1 was a horribly unexpected pick: hotline ophicus by nitro [FIN 12+], which i was really hoping not to play because i didn't like the song, i didn't like the chart's SVs, and i didn't like nitro... but alas, i played it and choked the Hell out of it as punishment . i would, however, proceed to make up for this score in our next song and first team pick -- BPM [FIN 13] where i swept the match with a MAX-1 AC!!! HTTPS (DA18's next pick) almost went super well for me (holding a MAX-3 right up to the endkill), but it was that very endkill that netted me judgement candy and dropped me from my high 1,009,980 to a low 1,006,852.... blegh, what an evil pick .

but once again it was our turn to play, and i was gonna make up for it this time by playing Dear My Endsummer [FIN 13] . and while i knew everyone was gonna do Really Damn Good on this chart (it being a tourney qualifier and everything), i wanted to surpass all of them somehow... and i managed to do it in the most shocking, mindblowing, surprising way, by getting a MAX/AAC ON THE CHART . LIVE . ON TOURNEY . MY FIRST AAC ON THE CHART AND SECOND AAC EVER PROBABLY . SOMEHOW . one could even say... i felt so sigma!

but alas, now that both of our respective picks were played, it was time for the tiebreaker of the whole match -- Synthesis. [ENC 14+]. A 14+ . In a tourney with 12+ to 13+ charts . weird choice but oh well, had to play it anyways... and that is NOT a 14+!!! Oh My God that was evil . borderline 15 . but compared to all my teammates vs DA18, we actually did really good as a whole!!! unfortunately, however, our run would come to an end as -- while we won match-wise 3-2 -- they went by total score anyways and gave the win to 3/4s DA24 . alas... a little disappointing, but nothing i can do about it now . i participated a little in the interview (right at the end), hopped off the game, and went about with the rest of my day on my own...

another reason for staying home today... is because it was the first day of the vivid/stasis Sunrise Showdown 2024 board game period!!! i needed to stay awake, alert, and at my computer that whole time, or who knows what would've happened there... so between soundscan and challenges, my score highlights for the day include...!

September 16th, 2024 - ProSeka, vivid/stasis

an extremely rare, extremely confusing(?) occasion where i played only ProSeka instead of Arcaea all day? well, to be fair, it was a math program day and i had nothing better to do, really . but still, i did indeed play ProSeka at a cafe before the time came... and i actually think i did really good at both of these Append charts (folern [Append Lv.35] & I-nandesu/I am you [Append Lv.32] thanks to the solidness of the table??? i wanna go back already to see if i can do any better...

back at home, though? it's ALL Elder Scrolls Online, baybee!!! ...i mean, Vivid/Stasis . i still have yet to figure out why it's showing up like that, and it's really hard for me to track down the reason for it, but i guess if it works...

anyways, today was mostly a Soundscan/Fishing day (trying to clear out both of those for funsies), but there were a few notable scores that i managed to get out of it... the first of which being this seemingly innocuous AC on Dear My Endsummer [FINALE 13]... except the Soundscan challenge was to play it at 110% SPEED!!! 1.1X!!! AND I GOT A MAX-9 AC WITH THE SPEED INCREASE!!! AN INCREASE FROM 195 BPM TO 214.5!!!!!

whilst i grinded out more bait for fishing because i was So Damn Close to getting every fish... i went and did some good ol' AAC/MAX chart grinding... and i got an absolutely MASSIVE haul today if i don't say so myself! the longest one was by far FULi AUTO SHOOTER [FINALE 10+] (though tbf i was never really good at the song)... and once i had finally defeated that song, every other one felt like a breeze!!! right after that one, i knocked out The 89's Momentum [FINALE 10+], followed by NULCTRL [ENCORE 11+], and then a quick Ione [FINALE 11+] 1-crit-fail-into-AAC-combo to finish off the session!!! i also really wanted to get FULi AUTO BUSTER today, but it just wasn't meant to be... (mindblocked the burst at the beginning and couldn't get past it at all, might just have to try again tomorrow and up the speed to make it more readable w)

BONUS: ohyeah i also fucking DESTROYED the Guardian in Tamasatchi despite being super underleveled (-10 levels) and underpowered in every sense of the word... but then can i potentially defeat Burger Demon whilst being underleveld? (spoiler: No)

whah, even *less* rhythm gaming today somehow??? but i thought today was supposed to be way more of a gamer day or something like that... ah well, can't really have nice things all the time . on the bright side, though: i did actually make some good progress in the Usual game today -- that being a sweet PM on Genesis (FTR-9+, MAX-30) as FTR PM #183!!!

today (well, specifically tonight) also saw the grand return of an old friend/old game... vivid/stasis!!! today was the first round of the long-awaited Sunrise Showdown 2024 tournament, and it introduced an all-new license + chart to the game... Luxvinore [FINALE 14]!!! full of gimmicks and grace notes, this chart was really fun to watch but a bit tricky to play, though i persevered through Triple Robertos and chokes nevertheless... until after a bit under an hour, i secured the AC with a MAX-9!!!!!

he was forced to practice vivid/stasis for the upcoming tournament when he had just woken up a few hours ago... gah, i really wasn't feeling it today for some reason and neither were my fingers . as much as i'd like to prepare for this tournament, there's so much uncertainty around it that i just... honestly can't be bothered . i'll try giving it another shot sometime this coming week...

slightly more positive news/plays came in the form of two new FTR PMs on my break and on the way back from work respectively: THE ULTIMACY (FTR-9+, MAX-24) and Einherjar Joker (FTR-9+, MAX-37) as FTR PMs #165 and #166 respectively!!!

neo wings train neo wings train!!!! did a little train as part of a twitter quote tweet train (my video below) and got this insanely cool upscore on the chart!!! still have no idea how to do the janky doubles with the sky notes so close to the floor notes...

also opened up and played Takumi for the first time in Ages, getting a sick Gauge Level 5 clear on Igallta [INSANITY 15+]!!!! loving this update so far :]

and to end off the day + to get rid of some excess stamina from work, i opened up vivid/stasis and got to work on upscoring my 15s, resulting in this INSANE 3-great FC on LET THE CREATION BEGIN [FIN 15] as well as a V-rank 1-miss on Turn A/Upside Down A [ENC 15]!!! more big rating increases hopefully soon...
