• No one grows spiritually without a deliberate and concious effort.

- Spiritual growth is a result of consistent prayer, study of God's word and application of the word, that is, practicing the Word (1Peter 2:2).

- Nobody can make you grow without your own personal and deliberate effort (Colossians 3:1-8).

- God may allow someone in your life who can influence you for growth; however, the person cannot make you grow (Galatians 6:1,2).

• Note:

- You need to plan and work for your spiritual growth (Romans 12:1-2).

- Some people have been in the Christian faith for a couple of years, they are just marking time on the same spot, without any progress (Galatians 6:7,8).

- Spiritual development and growth occur when you have a desire to pray, study God's word, and when you put to work the word learnt (Colossians 2:6,7).

• Truths:

- Growth takes time, as it is in the physical, so it is in the spiritual (Ephesians 4:22-15).

- Another name or word for spiritual growth or development is character development or maturity.

- I have seen people, even ministers, who are power houses, strong in the anointing of the Holy Spirit and His gifts; but they are nothing characterwise, one can hardly believe they are Christians (1 Peter 3:11-12).

- No one grows spiritually by laying on of hands i.e. by impartation.

- Consistent and systematic study of God's Word, prayer and practical application of the Word of God, result in spiritual growth.

- Gifts of the Holy Spirit can be imparted and transferred from one person to another (2 Timothy 1:6); but spiritual growth cannot be imparted or transferred – it has to be worked up.

- Your level of growth, maturity i.e. character development is a by-product of your consistency in prayer, study of God's Word, and practice of the word.

• As you plan for success in your career and pursuit in life, you equally plan for your spiritual success – growth.

- If usually you pray for thirty minutes or an hour daily last year; then you need to move up this year, to one hour or two hours – likewise in the study of God's Word.

- You also must be a part of kingdom building – by witnessing for Christ and by using your gifts to work for God in your local church (Acts 1:8; 2Corinthians 5:18; 2Timothy1:6-8). You fellowship with God by conversing with Him through the help of the Holy Spirit.

- Therefore spiritual growth or development is not accidental (2 Peter 3:18).

• Pay attention

- If you fail to develop your character it will show in the short or long run, no matter your level of attainment in the things of God – even if you are a minister of God.

- Lack of godly character, also known as carnality, can hinder you in completing and fulfilling your assignment ( 1 Corinthians 3:1,3;1Timothy 2:19-23).

- Samson, a Judge in Isreal, ended his assignment and life ingloriously; because of character defects – indiscipline.

21. "Then the Philistines took him (Samson) and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza. They bound him with bronze fetters, and he became a grinder in the prison.

25. "So it happened, when their hearts were merry, that they said, "Call for Samson, that he may perform for us." So they called for Samson from the prison, and he performed for them. And they stationed him between pillars.

- Samson died with the Philistines without sight. He died prematurely, with ridicule and humiliation.

- God did not ordain Samson to die with ridicule, ignominy – public disgrace.

- Samson chose to follow that path; because he lacked discipline, and he failed to work on his major weakness – uncontrollable appetite for sex.

- Negative character you fail to work upon, deal with, will later deal with you – unmake you.

• However, Paul ended his assignment gloriously:

- The essence of the Holy Spirit on the inside of you is to help you in your Christian walk, spiritual walk – If you yield to Him (John 14:16-18).

• Steps to take for spiritual growth:

- Read, study and meditate i.e. ponder on the word God daily (Joshua 1:8).

- Practice what you read (James 2:21-25).

- Pray regularly - daily (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

- Be a part of kingdom building – use your time, talent, treasure (money) for God.

° We are saved to serve thus share your faith with others (1 Corinthians 15:58).

°Attend fellowship - church meetings regularly (Hebrews 10:25).

° Give to build God's work in your local church – tithe, worship offering, offering the ministers, project offering, offering to the needy i.e. love offering; and you also give to mission work (2 Corinthians 9:6-7).

You will not be stagnated in Jesus' name.

JUST FOLLOW THE RULES

I have observed for some time now and I've come to a realisation that things about nature is natural and there's nothing we can do about it than to just follow the rules. I have also come to notice that anytime we break the rules of nature we end up suffering, for example a woman decides to perm her natural hair with an artificial product; she ends up wasting money and time under the dryer and goes through a lot of process just to get her hair done. she even gets an artificial rule that says water should not touch her hair when she's taking her bath, which also means she cannot walk in the rain which happens to be nature.

The sad thing is that, about 80% of the apps you have on your phone, you don't need them but you enjoy keeping them on the phone which ends up taking a lot of space. We as humans have lot of things occupied in our lives which we do not need, but we love doing them and keeping them around which also ends up getting much of our time and space.

In Genesis 1:27 The Bible says, so God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them. Now to make you understand this in a simple way, it means God created you to think like the way he thinks. Which also means that anything God does not think, you should not think and anything God does not do, you should not do. Period!!! Now this is the way God created his operating system and he asked Adam not to install any other operating system apart from the one that came with the computer[Mindkind] by asking him not to eat of that fruit which we all know about.

Just take a moment and meditate on how the Universe came into being. Look at the stars and the moon and all the planets that you know of, and ask yourself how this is possible? Infact this is totally pure technology. No wonder King David made this statement in Psalms 8:1-3 when I consider the heavens the work of your fingers the moon and the stars the heavens your hands have made and of the moon and stars you put in place.

King David understood the rules governing nature and he realised also that there's nothing he can do except to follow the rules. So because of that he repented with a broken and a contrite heart when he broke natures rule with Bathsheba.

God highly value those who are contrite in spirit. When you read Isaiah 57:15, God says, I will dwell in the high and holy place with who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and revive the hearts of the contrite once. The good news translation of Isaiah 66:2 put it this way and this is God speaking. I myself created the whole universe I am pleased with those who are Humble and repentant, those who fear me and obey me.

Technologically in todays IT world, i would simply put Isaiah 66:2 as this, those who update their apps are those I will be pleased with. lol

The reason is simple because anytime you update an app, it fix a problem that was there before. And you can only achieve this if you will obey the rules of the Creator [GOD] or the manufacturer.

One thing we must understand about God is that he is a genius, but about 65% of mankind are not leaving the image of God in all departments of life, but there's always a solution. Check this out.

God created man in his own image so because of that man is thinking like God by creating mobile phone, computer aeroplanes, robots and all the technology you can think of.

Let's take the life of the technology man created and the technology God created specifically mankind and see how they are doing as far as following the 🚷 rules is concerned.

1. God created a supreme technology and called him man.

Man created a wonderful technology and called it computer.

2. God gave man manual which is the Bible and commanded him in Joshua 1:8 to keep this book of the law always on his lips, to meditate on it day and night, to be careful to do everything written in it, and by doing this he will prosper and be successful.

Man added a manual to his computer and instruct its uses to read it carefully to be able to operate the computer.

3. God says in 1Corinthians 15:33, that we should be careful of our operating system, which is his character in us so we are not deceived because Bad Company corrupts good character.

Man says to the users of its computer that, they should stay away from harmful apps because it can damage the computers operating system

4. God said if your spirit is not in line with his ways, all you have to do is in Romans 10:9 which says, declare with your mouth Jesus is lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, and you will be saved.

In explanation God simply is saying when something goes wrong with his spirits in you, just come to him he will clean you inside out and behold 2Corinthians 5:17 says that you are a new creature, the viruses are gone and a new anti-virus as been installed. Hallelujah. Amen.

Man says when you find a suspicious virus in your operating system just flush it out using an antivirus.

5. God says you should keep your body's clean in 1Corinthians 6:19 which reads, do you not know that your bodies are Temples of the Holy Spirit who is in you whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

Man says keep your computer clean by providing a cover for it and protecting your screen with a glass protector. Do 📵 not also insert any infected external drives into your computer. List you will spread virus in your systerm

6. Jesus says in John 14:15-31 that if you love him keep the Rules of Nature that the creator has created and he will ask the father and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever and this helper is called the Holy Spirit

Man says if you need help with my computer I have provided someone for you whose name is Safari, Cortana or Google assistant.

And the rules goes on and on and on but the question is whose rules do you follow most? And how many people are following the Rules of Nature created by The Creator or the manufacturer?

Imagine a robot 🤖 disobeying its creator because its malfunctioning. [I leave that for you to conclude]. Do you now see why God said through Paul in Ecclesiastes 7:29 that he made us plain and simple but we humans have made ourselves very complicated?

In 2Timothy1:7 the Bible says, the spirit God gave us does not make us timid but gives us power love and self-discipline. When one has self-disciplined, he or she obeys instruction and the instruction here is JUST FOLLOW THE RULES, which are the instructions in God's manuel, the BIBLE. #NewsongRecordz#SenaDavid

Heard “Hungry like the wolf” at Jimmy John's today. Made me think of this song. I remember when it was on the top ten at ten on whatever Savannah station it was at the time. I used to wait for this one. As a kid, I think it appealed to some primal desire to be... unexpected maybe? and brave. Even today it tugs at me- seeing times I’ve not risen to an occasion. Bible stories have lost so much of their true edge in our minds.
