Where Has WestJet Been Flying Its Boeing 787 Dreamliners? (simpleflying.com)

At the time of reporting, Canadian carrier WestJet has a total of seven Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners in its fleet. Since the airline began operations in 1996, it has been making huge leaps and bounds toward becoming a worthy rival and alternative to the well-established Air Canada, especially in the domestic market. The Calgary-based airline is now equipped with a modern and efficient fleet of widebodies. The Calgary-based airline is offering Canadians more options when it comes to long-haul service to Europe. Let's look at where it's currently flying the Dreamliners in this article.

At this point in time, WestJet is flying 787 services out of just two Canadian cities: Calgary and Toronto. The airline only recently ended its seasonal Vancouver-London Gatwick operations at the start of October.

The longest route on the above list is the airline's Calgary-Rome service, which is 8,473 kilometers, or 4,575 nautical miles. This has a duration of approximately nine and a half hours going from Calgary to Rome, and closer to 10 hours when flying from Rome to Calgary.

When it comes to distribution across the wide expanse that is Canada, it is clear that WestJet's focus is on the major Albertan city of Calgary. Indeed, this focus on Western Canada was an intentional move, explicitly announced in June of this year. As we reported at the time, WestJet's new CEO, Alexis von Hoensbroech, has made the decision to shift airline resources to significantly grow its presence and network in the West, fostering its undisputed status as the home-team carrier of Western Canada, thus offering more direct, non-stop flights to various communities in the region.

When it comes to transatlantic services, this western focus leaves leisure airline Air Transat to duel it out with Air Canada for European flights from airports like Toronto and Montreal. WestJet does, however, operate Halifax-Dublin and Toronto-Dublin services using its Boeing 737 MAX 8s.

WestJet Dreamliners are also equipped with premium economy recliner seats (2x3x2 layout) as well as lie-flat business class seats. Naturally, meal quality goes up with each class, while screen size gets larger. Both premium classes have their own special amenity kits as well.

Except for its Calgary-London services, which rival Air Canada's, WestJet's transatlantic flights from Calgary currently go unchallenged by other airlines. Thus, Calgaryians can take advantage of direct service to some great European destinations with WestJet, while Canadians in other cities have the opportunity of a single connection service through the much smaller Calgary International Airport.

Lemon-fanfic. Not just lemon because it’s by me. Actual lemon. 

2x3 (equally 3x2). Defies my ability to describe exactly what this fic is; light-hearted and somewhat fluffy. Maybe crack??? IDEK. It’s raining and a spontaneous one-night stand arrangement leads to an accidental relationship. Everyone is cool with this. 0% angst, 99% stupid. Play trope bingo, forgive the metaphors and similes. It’s been 20 years, i can no longer be controlled. Here’s a snippet: 

It was not that they had intended to sleep together, it was just boredom and, in part, the weather. Interminable rain. Days of it, ruining the holiday. It makes the trailer a claustrophobic little tin but going out is too much of an effort.

Sprawled out full length on the couch, the resources of their four magazines and the deck of 51 cards exhausted, Duo says, as a by the by, “Hey. Do you wanna fuck?”

And I'll Miss You Anyway

Moving more work from FFN to AO3, all that shit with the CritcsUnited spambot and the like is making me less inclined to just leave everything on FFN alone. Been slowly moving fics but seeing as this one is written out so just needs typed it got a bit of a clean up before chapter 1 was added to AO3. If you are a fan of 2x3x2 than hello you may find a few fics of mine to your liking. On a side note if you enjoyed something on FFN and would like it reworked/cleaned up and posted to AO3 let me know. I have nearly 200 works on FFN and roughly half need work/fixing.

Duo groaned softly his head really, really, really hurt and he was so not enjoying the experience of waking up. He realized he was in a comfortable bed, which was good, and in his own clothes, which was even better, but where the Hell was he? ‘ What happened to me this time?…no maybe what hit me would work better? Either way should I even bother trying to get up? Let’s have a little looksy first, then we’ll decide what to do next…yep sounds like a good plan.’ Bright amethyst eyes opened slowly, and moved just as slowly. H e was in a large room, which reminded him of a dorm for some reason he just could not place. It was all very nice and expensive looking, but not familiar at all, the various items which litter ed the shelves and various flat surfaces screamed him but he could not place them either. ‘ That’s alright sever hits to the head can cause temporal memory lost, thank you Television. Now what’s up with this room, did I get hurt at or near some richy rich school? Nah that so doesn’t make any sense…comfy bed at any rate nice and warm…’

Duo moved his hands over the bed it felt good under his fingers, stopping when they brushed something that felt like very soft cotton, but not the covers. ‘ Huh?’ He turned his head to get a better look at just what he had brushed his hand against and blinked, before just staring confused. Sleeping peacefully on ‘his’ swivel chair was a young man he would guess was no older then twenty sitting there, arms folded on the back of the chair. Lose white button down sleeves half rolled up lightly tanned lower arms, long golden brown bangs hanging limply over his arm, eyes whatever their color were closed.

Duo frowned at him in thought his mind working a bit slower than normal, but still working so he was happy. ��� Well he sure as Hell ain’t dressed like no preppy snob, but who is he, and why is he here, and sleeping even?’ He leaned in close studying him as if staring would suddenly jog his memory, but all he came up with were more questions. His current foggy memory could not remember anyone who looked so serene when they slept, and as harmless as the other looked he knew he should be concerned. This guy could have been the one who hurt him, for all he knew, but he ignored that little voice as he brushed his fingers along long spiky bangs curiosity beating out caution. ‘ His hair is so soft so how does it do that? It’s strange but I kinda like it.’ He blinked when he noticed the other was looking at him with half open eyes, which happened to be green, which Duo did notice as he jumped back hitting the pillows.

Trowa blinked as he lifted his head, “Duo?” He asked concerned, and too tired to care about hiding anything even a little.

Duo just stared at the stranger for a moment, calming mind focusing on how the other’s eyes seemed to catch the light showing of the subtle touches of various green. ‘He knows my name! Who are you? God you have beautiful eyes. Idiot stop staring!’ Those gentle eyes just watched him concerned, nonchalant about his staring, and Duo began to relax. He could tell from the other’s tone and manner he was a friend, close or not he was not sure, but clearly not a threat. “Sorry a little jumpy,” Duo apologized voice still a bit shaky, but at least his heart was no longer pounding way too fast out of fear.

Trowa nodded use to Duo after being around him as long as he had, “Understandable. Are you all right?”

Duo smiled, the mysterious youth had a very pleasant voice it was easy to talk to him, the fact he was genuinely concern but not fussing was nice too. “Well my head is seriously killing me but everything still works, so yeah, I guess so.”

Trowa allowed himself to smile a bit in relief before talking again, after talking with Sally he had been worried, “Good. You’ve been sleeping for two days now, I would have been here sooner but you know Cathy.”

“Two Days!?” Duo cried gaping at the news, too stunned to think of anything else to say about it just then. ‘Two days…well no wonder my head hurts so much that was one bad day. Come sooner, why come at all, and just who is this Cathy? Figures someone like that has a girlfriend. Oh stop thinking like that.’

“Yeah, the others will be here by tonight at the earliest, but I was already here on Earth so.” Trowa shrugged watching Duo, something felt off but he did not have Quatre’s gift, his feeling came from over a decade of fighting. “Are you sure you’re all right Duo? Sally should be by soon to check up on you, but I can go get her if you want?”

“I’m just tired,” Duo felt a pang of guilt over worrying this gentle eyed young man, but there was little else he could do. ‘Others? I’m on Earth too? God am I confuse. Sally must be a doctor or whatever, cool I can work with that. What I want is to know what is going on, but thanks for asking anyway.’

We’ve been teasing our upcoming 2x3 fic for months now - but guess what? You’ve only got one month to go! We plan to start posting in early March.

In the meantime, enjoy this little bit:

 “I just don’t like you.”

“Yeah, well, feeling’s mutual, pal,” Duo muttered, ignoring the sharp bite of Trowa’s words.  The other man had never pulled any of his punches, verbal or otherwise, and Duo didn’t expect him to start now, when he was angry and hurting and miserable.

To his right came a deep sigh of disappointment, and both he and Trowa whirled reflexively to find their employer leaning on the edge of the pool, Salome tucked up against her side.

“If I wanted to listen to a lovers’ spat, I would have turned on Telemundo, no?”

Disentangling herself from Salome, she glided over to the pool stairs and began climbing up, which was when Duo realized she was naked, sheets of water falling down her body with every step she took.

“Lisichka, a towel, if you please.”  

Wordlessly, Duo held his out, carefully keeping his eyes above her collarbone.  Unsurprisingly, she seemed to find his discomfort amusing.  Salome followed her out of the water, strolling across the deck with a complete lack of concern for her nakedness, and Duo didn’t look at her at all.

and we won't let us get RID of any of the photos, despite the fact that we KNOW that literally no one is ever going to look at any of them again, but we don't have space for THAT FUCKING MANY BOXES OF PHOTOS, so mom and I spent the last two hours going through just TWO of the albums yanking photos out, labeling those that weren't labeled, and putting them in acid-free photo boxes

I would have technically been a citizen of L'manburg yes, but I would not have a real house and would mostly live in the trees nearby like a feral cryptid (as one does) and my L'manburg residence would have been a small 2x3x2 box with a bed and two double chest and nothing else

Post the first explosion my box would be built underneath L'manburg because "I don't really go in it much so why would I want it to be super out in the open anyways?"

Post the second explosion I absolutely would have been mind controled by the egg. The egg didn't offer anything I just liked the way it sounded and the color red makes brain go brrr and that's how it got me.

The Stone Lake 5ATC and 7ATC (pictured above left) sleep five and seven respectively, with the 7SA featuring the 2x3x2 bedroom configuration appreciated by parents who desire a larger middle bedroom between their children.
