WIP - D00.o (Streamer 'verse Isekai)

Head aching before he opens his eyes, Duo just knows waking up is going to suck. Since the last thing he remembers is being on a mission, he listens hard for several long minutes but hears nothing beyond the normal sounds of a house. Or maybe an apartment? Slowly, he opens his eyes, only to be confused when he realizes he’s on the floor in a… garage? It looks just like a normal, average, one-car garage. There’s tools on a pegboard, but Duo has to stare at them for four minutes before he realizes that they’re up there like a puzzle, and there’s no order to them beyond that. There are saw horses, a circular saw, safety glasses, even a mask, so clearly someone is building something in here, but Duo has no idea what.  The last thing he remembers is getting thrown into a wall… …And a shock. The house they’d been raiding should have been condemned years ago. It’s definitely possible that he could have gotten electrocuted on something. Duo looks down at his hands—then stares.  His nails are long and painted with some polish that looks like mother-of-pearl. What the fuck? Turning his hands over, he notices how very… pretty they are. The knuckles aren’t scarred and gnarled, covered in the aftermath of a hard life and working hard. When he checks his palms, they're actually… soft.  “This has gotta be a dream,” he mutters, getting to his feet before noticing the extremely pink leggings he’s wearing, and the boots. They almost look like workman’s boots, but workman’s boots don’t have a heel like this, and they don’t zip. And he has… boobs. It’s a reflex to grab them, and Duo heaves a sigh of relief when he realizes that they are definitely fake, though he’s now aware of the bra as well. Lace, judging by the scratchiness he can feel. Fuck. The sweatshirt is even cropped, so he’s definitely dressed like a girl. Why the fuck would someone do that and not only not go all the way with a skirt or dress but also just leave him in a garage? “Okay,” he says just to ground himself. It’s not the end of the world. Duo has crossdressed before, sometimes to hide, sometimes for fun—like Halloween two years ago when Dorothy bullied him into dressing up as a princess.  …Which drags his memory back to how Zechs had responded to seeing him decked out as Megara…  Actually, it was kind of a shame the dress didn’t survive the night, come to think of it. 

It's been a long day, and I'm damn tired. Too tried to bother tagging anyone else, but anyone, feel free to play too!

Sometimes, the long shot wins out!

So YEARS ago, (at least a decade now), I read an epic of a Gundam Wing fanfic called Sainan no Kekka: Tragedy's Consequence. It had a whole website of side stories and additional information. However, now, the only place to read it is ff.net which is less than ideal. Formatting is off, you can’t download to read offline, etc.

So I messaged the authors, and Aishuu responded and now is even reposting the epic one weekend at a time! I am so excited!

If you like Gundam Wing, you should really give it a read.

Chapter 2 of my Trowa x Quatre futurefic is out.  I think maybe I should set deadlines for myself more often.  I’ll never meet them, of course, but at least trying to meet them gets me writing so that I’ll have something to post at some point.

I don't really have anything to say about that, it was never my cup of tea, it's just interesting to see such a fertile genre dry up.

Is there a dream fanfiction project you've always wanted to tackle but haven't had the chance to yet?

Actually, uh, yeah, I do! I even have an esoteric title!

The dream project is called "a wonder and a terror", in reference to Keanu Reeve's answer for how it feels to grow old. I want to go back and revisit most of the worlds I used to visit in fanfic. That would include Final Fantasy 7, Sorcerer Hunters, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Hellsing, Slayers, Gensoumaden Saiyuki, Gundam Wing, Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion, Trigun, Gargoyles, and Generation X--aaaaaaaaall stuff I once obsessed over.

The thing is, I was writing/reading fic for those works when I was a teenager. And most of these works also feature teenagers, or very young adults. In a lot of cases, these shows are literally about child soldiers, or extremely young/inexperienced adults being forced to take on The Good Of The World.

The theme I'd take on in all these fics will be threefold:

What happens to child soldiers when the war ends and they grow up?

What happens to folks who thought they'd die on the battlefield who live long enough to experience aging?

What happens to characters who became powerful/famous under one gender identity who try to transition?

In addition to flipping characters' genders or their cis status, I plan on doing a LOT related to characters having chronic disabilities, physical as well as mental. And there will be a lot of shipping, many of it for ships I never explicitly wrote for in the past. (Specifically, I'm very glad that Barret/Cloud's time has come 'round at last.)

Some fics are already released on my account. "Entering King" is where I introduce the idea of trans man!Sanzo, which ties into some of the stuff I wanted to do for the Gensoumaden Saiyuki fics. My Gen X work is going to take place in the same canon already established here. Not a lot has been completed yet, but I do hold out hope that I'll get there!

So this post I made yesterday had me thinking all day about fanfics. I’m reading Ronin Warrior stories by Quiet_Shadow and I love to read more. I also need to read more Gundam Wing stories.

Anyone have any recommendations?

I've been hearing weird stuff about SEED Freedom and now I'm concerned. I already expected it to be camp but not....downright fanfic-written-down-by-Fukuda-when-he's-having-a-fever kind of bizarre

Without talking about specific spoilers, how did the ending make you feel?

A feverish Fukuda might have come up with a fic that's amusing. ChatGPT sure churned out gold when I threw the movie's synopsis at it. As it is, it's just Fanservice: The Movie. New, shiny mobile suits for everyone, Kira/Lacus galore, and copious studies of the female body and how physics affect it when not wearing a bra. So basically Destiny, with the difference that Shinn gets to be cool this time.

I don't really care about the ending of the movie because I don't care about the people involved. Good for them, I guess, but very whatever to me, personally. I find every other character more interesting.
