Can we talk about how Dylan is super observant and it's literally canon? He's attentive, he pays attention to people's body language and tone and then he acts accordingly.

Whenever he accidentally upset someone as "Blasè-Dylan" by being flippant or making a joke, he immediately remedied it. Changing the topic and smoothing it over or even telling another joke to lighten the mood. Eg;

When Ryan thought he was making fun of him for listening to podcasts

When he almost outed Abi as a virgin

He realised "oh shit I put my foot in my mouth" and fixed it right away without directly bringing attention to it. We see these little glimpses of "Dylan-Dylan" all the way through the game. The softer, more mindful side to the wise- wise cracking smart ass.

Ryan says "smooth" sarcastically but he IS smooth. He's genuinely charming and while he mostly uses it for jokes and deflection (and flirting with Ryan), he also uses it to control the flow of conversation to take the heat off someone who's uncomfortable, like Abi during truth or dare and also himself in general lmao.

One of the most interesting moments in the game is when Laura shows up at the lodge door after Nick turned and Ryan's being defensive/protective and doesn't want to let her inside. Dylan tells Ryan "You're not in charge." And opens the door to let her in. He identifies that Ryan is stressed and getting angry, so Dylan takes the decision out of his hands.

Dylan-Dylan is more than capable of taking charge of a social situation, he just chooses not to most of the time. Maybe it's out of awkwardness, maybe he just prefers to be the conversation buffer for other people rather than the focal point. Maybe it's because he's not brave and doesn't see himself as a leader. But we know he's capable of it because we see him do it

It's one of the reasons I'm curious why people saw the scene where Dylan tells Ryan about "Dylan-Dylan" and perceived that as anxiety because his actions just aren't the actions of someone with anxiety (imo). Awkward? Definitely. But not anxiety.

He's so socially conscious while also being awkward. Maybe his awkwardness is what forced him to become so attentive and observant. But that's on being a three dimensional character. If only one character got properly fleshed out, I'm so glad it was him because he gets more interesting every time I replay the game.

what i find really cool is that in the 'three stars each' texts, and expanded MUL.APIN (𒀯𒀳) tables, each constelation starts with 'mul' (𒀯) such as tarus (𒀯𒄞𒀭𒈾)*

but! more importantly for this discussion, the pleiades cluser (which is coincidently a part of the tarus constelation) is written simply as MUL.MUL, or: 𒀯𒀯

𒀯𒀯 has been translated to mean 'star cluster', 'many stars' or 'star of stars' depending on whose translating the text, a fact of which i could find absolutley no sources to very much to my immense annoyance but im going to keep trying at that

its also one of the closest star clusters to earth

and, just to get on the same page, the pleiades cluster, also called the seven sisters, and, for me at least, its one of the first things you learn to pick out in the night sky

just looking at it normally you can only tend to see six stars in the cluster, but on really clear nights you can even see the seventh brightesst star as well and its fucking beautiful

but anyway! back to the cuneiform!

now, the sign 𒀭 is a sumerogram for either AN or DINGIR depending on your translation, but essentially equates to meaning a range of words from 'sky', to 'god/goddess'

and anyway i cant exactly remember where i was going with this whole bit of text but anyway the pleiades cluster is one of the most beautiful things in the sky (at least in the northern hemisphere, cause i cant lie, the coal sack nebula and magellanic clouds are sick as fuck but you guys dont get them up there)
