Interhotel für Insekten neu eröffnet

Die ersten Blätter liegen verkrümmt am Boden und kündigen den Herbst als vorletzte Jahreszeit an. Mein regelmäßiger Spaziergang durch den Eichepark am Rande Berlins sorgt für viel frische Luft und ein aufgeräumtes Aufatmen in meinem Innersten. Es dauerte gar nicht lange, da komme ich an einer Brandstelle vorbei. Nur noch ein verkohlter Fahl schaut aus dem Boden. Ich dachte mir noch, dass es wohl die Dorfjugend sei, die aus Langeweile einen Baumstumpf abgefackelt haben. Kurzes Innehalten, dann schwante es mir. Das Insektenhotel, das ich noch im Sommer bewundert habe ist abgebrannt. Der klägliche Rest schaut nun angespitzt und verkohlt aus dem Boden. Wut steigt in mir auf und Traurigkeit umhüllt mich wie eine Tarnkappe. Das Interhotel mit seinen verschiedensten Unterschlupfmöglichkeiten war ein beliebter Anziehungspunkt für Käfer, Spinnen, Schlupfwespen und Bienen, die hier auch überwinterten oder sich in den Schilfröhrchen verpuppten, um im nächsten Jahr auszufliegen. Vor allem Nützlinge nahmen das Hotel dankbar an. Ganz zu schweigen von der Mühe des unbekannten Handwerkers, der dieses Hotel wohl nicht mit einem 3 D Drucker hergestellt hatte. Der Schandfleck bleibt vorerst ein Mahnmal gegen die Dummheit. Das Interhotel ist wieder aufgebaut worden und durch eine Vogelschutzhecke ergänzt worden. Man müsste Gartenzwerge als Sicherungsposten aufstellen. Sie werden dann zur Dämmerung lebendig und bewachen wie einst die sieben Zwerge den Sarg Schneewittchens, bewaffnet mit Säge, Spaten und Spitzhacke. Wohl dem,der es wagt, der Schönheit ein Leid zuzufügen, dem drohe Schlimmes. Hoffen wir auf die Klugheit der Menschen und dass das Hotel ein neues zu Hause für viele Insekten wird.

‚Jugend hackt Lab‘ startet am Gymnasium in den Filder Benden Moers. (pst) Mit ‚Coding‘ die Welt verbessern: Ende September startet ein ‚Jugend hackt’-Lab in Moers. Die Stadtverwaltung hatte im Mai den Zuschlag erhalten, das Labor in Moers einzurichten. Es nutzt aktuell Räumlichkeiten am Gymnasium in den Filder Benden (Zahnstraße 43). So sollen Jugendliche einen verantwortungsvollen Umgang mit Technik lernen und das Programmieren (Coding) kennenlernen. „Im weitesten Sinn geht es darum, Medienbildung zu betreiben“, erläutert Stephan Bernoth, Leiter der Stabsstelle Digitalisierung der Stadt Moers. Die Open Knowledge Foundation Deutschland e.V. als Ideengeberin der Labs (Kurzform für Laboratorium) möchten einen niederschwelligen Zugang zu Medien und Technik für alle gesellschaftlichen Schichten möglich machen sorgen. Zielgruppe sind grundsätzlich Jugendliche von 12 bis 18 Jahren. „Toll, dass dieses schöne Projekt hier einen so geeigneten Ort gefunden hat. Die Schule konnte bereits viele Erfahrungen sammeln, die bestens zu der Idee von ‚Jugend hackt‘ passen“, freut sich der zuständige Beigeordnete Claus Arndt.  Erster Workshop am 30. September Der Zugang ist eher praktisch orientiert und spielerisch angelegt. Programmierkenntnisse oder ähnliches sind nicht erforderlich. „Wichtig ist, schnell ‚ans Machen‘ zu kommen“, weiß Lehrer Marc Lachmann. Für die Kinder und Jugendlichen sei es auch wichtig, etwas mitzunehmen. Wie begeistert die Zielgruppe sein kann, zeigten Workshops im Rahmen des Technik-Festivals ‚Hello World‘ in Jugendzentren in Moers. „Die Sozialpädagoginnen und –pädagogen waren positiv überrascht, dass sich die Kids bis fünf Stunden konzentriert mit einem Roboterprojekt befassen“, schmunzelt Bernoth. Passend dazu findet am Freitag, 30. September, von 16.30 bis 19 Uhr ein kostenloser Workshop für Einsteigerinnen und Einsteiger um den 3 D-Druck kennenzulernen. Die Teilnehmenden können dann eigene kleine Figuren aus Kunststoff ‚drucken‘ und diese mit nach Hause nehmen. In dem Moerser Lab gibt es mehrere Computer, 3D-Drucker, einen Lasercutter für Holzarbeiten und weitere Technik. Geplant ist, durch Fördermittel weitere Hardware zu beschaffen.  Firmen wollen sich auch engagieren Das Lab ist zwar räumlich am Gymnasium in den Filder Benden angedockt, steht aber allen jungen Menschen aus der Region offen. „Eigentlich bräuchten wir an jeder Schule ein Lab“, verdeutlicht Lachmann die Bedeutung. Er arbeitet nach der Schule ehrenamtlich in dem Lab. Seine Schülerinnen und Schüler könnten sich künftig einbringen und jüngeren die Hintergründe erläutern. Schuldezernent Arndt hat Hinweise von Firmen in Moers bekommen, die ebenfalls die Bedeutung des Themas erkannt haben und sich auch finanziell einbringen wollen. Er sieht zudem ein großes Potenzial das Lab künftig mit den Themen rund um Open Data zu vernetzen, wo wichtige Zahlen und Fakten für die breitere Öffentlichkeit aufbereitet und verfügbar gemacht werden. Die Workshops zu verschiedenen Aspekten des Codings sollen künftig alle zwei Wochen stattfinden.
