#30daycosplaychallenge #day16 - do you belong in any cosplay groups? Well.. a few days back I sort of already answered this. I put up the groups I’m in and besides some for sale groups that’s really about it. So instead I figured that maybe I could talk about something else I was passionate about in Cosplay: cosplay positivity and encouragement. With Cosplay and anything in life really, it’s super hard to find something absolutely good and perfect in it. There’s always going to be assholes that bring something toxic into your life even if it’s just for a second. However, you don’t have to be like that. Take the time to spread something #positive to someone else. Say hey I think you look rad or man I bet you spent a lot of time on your cosplay. You don’t have to lie and say I think it looks awesome if you think it doesn’t, but it’s not hard to find a compliment in anyone’s cosplay. Just because they’re bad at armor doesn’t mean their sewing is bad. Maybe it’s a store bought Cosplay but their make up is super on point. Or maybe even it’s their first cosplay and first experience so you just say I can’t wait to see what else you do in the future. Nothing is more awful than being so excited for something and for someone else to come by and tell you that it’s garbage. So why does this have anything to do with groups? Well one day I’m going to make some group, discord, or something where you can just get some cool reminder of how your hard work will pay off and that it’s about having fun, not how much money you’ve spent or how many awards you’ve won. Day 23: My most expensive cosplay is probably Cinderella because I made it for my prom dress and I didn't want to wear a hoop skirt to prom so underneath is entirely petticoats. Plus to get the color I wanted I used a bunch of different blues and purples. I worked really hard to get the mask just right and was very pleased with how it came out. Also it was cool I got to be part of such an awesome Masters of the universe group with my friends so that’s always a nice memory to have with this costume. It also was rewarding to use it and win first place for best costume at motor city which is something I always wanted to win. My #ootd is a #closetcosplay of #darthmaul . I know many of you were hoping for prosthetics, but I actually wear these looks. Lol I'm most proud of the double belt even if I couldn't quite get the pose or camera angle right today. Day 27: how many wigs do you own? And what's your favorite? I own probably between 6-8 wigs. It's honestly not much compared to a lot of cosplayers. I only buy wigs for specific cosplays and I don't buy wigs just for fun. 😕 I try to save my money for fabric splurging. My favorite is my Tracer wig! I mean just look at it! 25. Cosplay you put the most effort into. That’s definitely split down the middle between these two. I didn't get to finish my toga 100% and wear all her armor for the photo shoot but I still worked really hard on it and will do a photo shoot with it all soon. It’s done I just need to figure out how to attach it all together. As for my meliodas, the coat was a big sewing project for me. I’d never really sewn something so big and fancy before using a pattern. I also never lined anything before this project either. So it was really hard and took me a lot of sleepless nights but honestly was all worth it in the end. I’m extremely happy with how it turned out and how it fit ✨💕 With toga I really love how everything looks it’s just a matter of assembling it. If you know Vampire Hunter D, you know why this might never happen. Vampire Hunter D is an important franchise that is near and dear to my heart. The story, characters, setting, art, and music-it's all good. So, if I was ever to cosplay it, I could do no other version than #YoshitakaAmano novel version, and I would only do it if I could do as good a job as this cosplayer on the left. I could not do anything so important to me so subpar, and I don't think I would ever have enough time or skill. Day 26: Do you have any unfinished cosplays? Do you plan on finishing them?...The two that come to mind are America from Hetalia and Takamina from AKB0048. The picture above is the extent of how complete America will probably ever be. As much as I loved Hetalia when I first got into anime it's not a priority anymore so I doubt I'll ever finish him unless one of my friends really wants to do a group. As for Takamina I love her character and she has so many adorable outfits that in another world where I have time and unlimited money I would finish her.
