When all of this is over, will you come to wake me up?
Do you promise?
... I'll be waiting.

One time i somehow got on a redit thread on will wood bc i looked him up or something and Im constantly thinking about one person I saw getting really aggressive about his fans liking him for queer reasons and they said something like "he's a cis het 30 year old man he probably doesnt know what 'so gender' means" and like ok yeah being parasocial is not good but saying that he doesnt know what "so gender" means is laughably wrong. The guy has a song about gender identity and also at one point dressed like this:
Tumblr media
Like theres discouraging parasocial weirdness like assigning stranger's sexualities and then theres what is essentially gasligthing people into thinking they just made everything they like up about a musical artist they like. For some reason.

I never wrote about winning the cosplay contest at STSF (lol wild), but here's the prize certificate:
Tumblr media
On the one hand, I (almost didn't enter and) didn't think I was going to win, but on the other hand, they kept talking about a cash prize. And ok, cash prizes have weird legal issues or whatever, but this certificate is bound only to the Creation merch tables, where they sell t-shirts and bags with AI art on them. I asked what I could use it for and the lady said "maybe" I could put it towards a photo op, but it also says no tickets, so that's still up in the air.
That night, Eugene Cordero was hanging out with us at the afterparty (lol hey Rutherford (!!!???) you're super chill) and someone mentioned I'd won the contest/I probably said something about my $500 worthless prize. So he signed it to make it worth "less"
Tumblr media
ANYWAY, all this to say
If I can use it towards a photo op (doubtful), and there is a group Voyager cast shot (cause hello expensive and I am, how you say, not formally employed), I think it'd be hilarious to do Threshold mutant Tom Paris
It seems highly doubtful, but it's a thought that at least keeps me quite amused

Short story Illustration by John La Gatta (John LaGatta), Milk and Honey by Thomas Beer, The Saturday Evening Post, March 4, 1933.
Glamour, grace and beauty epitomized John La Gatta’s work and life. One of the most famous illustrators of the early decades of the 20th century, La Gatta depicted the well-heeled in the pages of nearly all the mainstream magazines such as the Saturday Evening Post, Ladies’ Home Journal, and Cosmopolitan, as well as for swank advertising campaigns. His success afforded him a lavish lifestyle, befitting his own celebrity status. The changing tastes of the public and the advent of photography, found the artist, now in California and in faltering health, struggling to rejuvenate his career. Then, in 1956, came the call from Edward A. “Tink” Adams, the founder of what is now Art Center College of Design, where La Gatta soon became an instructor. ... (x)

Seasonal reminder that macy's has an extreme discount section year round where you can get new, good quality fancy clothes for literally $2-$10. Including effective cold weather gear and job interview attire.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's called the last act section and it's usually in the farthest corner of the highest floor. They have one for shoes too.
It's literally the same shit they sell in the rest of the store, but they start marking it down after a couple months. So, go get all the rich people clothes you want/need. They have the biggest stock at the beginning of each season.

Makoto and Fuyuhiko both getting carded for stuff that's age restricted until they're both like, 40. The first time someone doesn't ask them for their ID it's a celebratory lol
Makoto: sigh... no it's okay, I get that a lot. Here's my driver's license.
Fuyuhiko: *flashes gun* IS THIS ID ENOUGH FOR YOU.

Le Petit écho de la mode, no. 44, vol. 20, 30 octobre 1898, Paris. 1. Corsage de bal ou de dîner. Collier Cyrano. Ville de Paris / Bibliothèque Forney
No. 1.
No. 1. Among the latest creations published for the ball season, we chose, among the number, a charming necklace, called "Esclavage," whose simplicity and good taste seduced us. It is made of medium-sized fine pearls and measures 1.76 m long; the clasp, a real jewel, represents a daisy, with a fine pearl surrounded by imitation diamonds; People who do not put a flower on the bodice will leave this clasp visible which will form a charming decoration, especially if it holds a drapery or a lace butterfly.
The modest price of this necklace puts it within the reach of all budgets; its price is 7 fr. 95, free by post.
Ball or dinner bodice, composed of a fitted lining, veiled in silk muslin and garnished with two velvet draperies held on the chest by a bouquet of flowers. Velvet belt, gathered sleeve revealing the arm.
