Today has just been a day. You have no excuse except  for the fact that it slipped your mind and when your calendar notified you, an hour and a half before the event started your mind began to scramble. 

Steve’s parents can’t watch Elysia because they have a date night. They offered to cancel, but you couldn’t ask them to do that. Natasha was out of town. You had even asked the babysitter, but it was too last minute for her. So, there’s one last option.

“Hey doll, you girls alright?” Steve smiles into his phone, happy to hear your voice. 

“Hi, baby” you beamed, brushing on highlighter while keeping a careful eye on your daughter. Elysia was chilled out on your bed, entranced in an episode of Paw Patrol.

 “Look, I’m really sorry, it slipped my mind, but I have an event to get to in a few. And there’s no one to keep an eye on Elsie. Can I drop her off to you?”

“Yeah, of course. I've been missing her a little extra today anyway.” 

You sigh in relief, “I love you, you’re the best” you tell him, sending a kiss through the phone.

It’s at least twenty-five minutes later until your heels are clicking against the lobby’s marble floor. Elysia’s designer baby bag is slung over your shoulder and your two-year-old is sitting on your hip as the two of you walk to Steve’s office. 

You knock on the door twice, before you pull it open. As you enter, Steve’s head shoots up, then an affectionate smile graces his face at the sight of his favorite girls. 

“Daddy!” Elysia cheers with grabby hands towards her father. 

Steve walks over to greet the two of you; kissing Elysia’s cheek and neck, chuckling as she squirms because his facial hair is ‘ticklish’, before he brings her into his hold. 

And before you know it, Steve brings his lips down onto yours. All while removing the baby bag from your shoulders. When he pulls away, he’s whistling with ardor as he spins you to give himself a 360 of what’s his. 

Your body is flawlessly dressed in a customized cream suit with gold buttons. The coat wraps  around you to accentuate your waist and breast, your pants hug your ass perfectly. As the pants flare out as they go down your leg. He loves how the diamond necklace and earrings he bought as one of your push gifts make your eyes twinkle.  

Your cheeks heat up at the way he fawns over you. Many years later and you’d never get used to it. 

When he stops you, his hand tugs your body to his, “You look..exquisite” he husks, squeezing your hand. “Mommy looks exquisite, doesn't she?” he asks Elysia who responds with an exaggerated nod. 

“Look Quiz-it!” she garbles the tough word out

“Thank you, you two. But I have to head out if I want to make it on time.”

“Where are you headed anyway?”

“Maggie is throwing something for her launch,” you answer while fixing a boggle in Lys’ hair that held one of her space buns. “I promised I’d be there. I like this tie, it matches your eyes perfectly” 

Your hand runs over the patterned blue tie. You didn’t get to see him this morning, as you usually do. He slipped out before the sun even came out, with just a kiss to your cheek as his ‘see you later’ so he wouldn’t disturb your sleep. 

“Thank you. Drive safe and be safe, Joseph will be right behind you.”

You groan. He lavished the trait of overprotectiveness. There was one instance where you had begged and begged to roam free without anyone on your tail. It didn’t end well. 

“Non-negotiable, text me when you arrive safely” he reminds you, grasping your chin for a kiss. 

“Bye baby, I'll see you soon. Be good” you kiss her before pinching her chubby cheeks. 

As the door shuts softly behind you, Steve and Elysia are stood in his expansive offices hands up in a wave. “Looks like it’s just me and you, baby doll, are you hungry?”

“No” she responds.

“Okay, would you mind if daddy worked for a little bit more?”

“It’s okay” she lisps.

Elysia is settled on her father’s lap, Steve’s phone in her tiny hands as she watches ‘The Princess and the Frog’. Occasionally her big eyes roam over the big screens on her father’s desk. 

With his little girl present, Steve isn’t able to complete any of his gruesome tasks, just the light stuff with no pictures or videos.

“Daddy?” Elysia calls for him, her head tucked back. 

“Babydoll?,” he answers, looking down. 

“I’m thirsty, do you ‘ave apple juice?” 

“Do I have apple juice? Do I-- are you kidding, how could you ask that.” while he throws his whole spiel, loving the wide smile on her face. His hand discreetly opens the mini fridge under his desk. It’s always packed with what she enjoys. He pulls out a juice box, and presents it to her like a magic trick. 

“Yay!” she giggles, clapping her hand in glee before she grasps the juice box in both hands eagerly, in turn dropping her father’s phone to the ground. “Oops” she murmurs at the sound of the clatter. 

“It’s alright, just remember to be careful next time” he responds, picking up the newest model. 

Some time passes before Elysia grows bored and begins to squirm and whine. 

He picks her up, placing each foot on his thigh. 

“What’s up, why are you so crabby?,” he coos, running his forefinger down the slope of her warmed up nose while the other hand holds her up by her waist. 

“Wanna play” she bounces her legs, pointing behind her. 

He sighs, checking his watch: 6:03pm. Under twenty minutes until his meeting. So, they play to her heart's desire. He has a few of her favorite things stashed away so he pulls those out after shrugging off his coat. 

Now, he’s sat criss-cross applesauce getting berated by his toddler and thankfully y/n has texted that she’s arrived safely. 

“No, daddy! I’m the chef.”

“Okay, okay. Can I order an orange juice and sandwich, please” he orders through the small window of her Little Tikes play kitchen. 

“Seven thousand dollars,” she tells him, hand out. 

“Prices are a little steep, don't you think?” he jokes, but forgets it’s his two-year-old he’s talking to. “Tough crowd,” he continues, before dropping the fake, blue credit card into her hands. 

“Hmm.” she hums while she thinks, “No monies. No food” she tells him this reproachfully, her eyebrows knit together as she drops the card in his hands. 

“What?” he gawks, “You’re gonna let daddy starve?” 

She sighs before dropping a banana into his palm, “Thank you, babydoll” he smiles, kissing her cheek through the screen as she giggles, her hard chef mask breaking through. 

“Daddy, I don’t wanna play any more.”

“Yea? What do you want to do?”

“Stickers! Stickers! Stickers!” she chants to a tune, walking around to her father.

Against his will, Steve is still sitting on the floor and his toddler stands before him. One of her tiny fists holds a sheet of glittery Lisa Frank stickers while the other places them on his face.

“Cat or tiger?” she asks, bending her head down. 

“Tiger”

She beams, placing it on the middle of his forehead, then kisses it for good measure. 

There’s an incessant buzz in the air. His phone against his presidential, dark wood desk. He goes to it immediately to see it’s a call from Bucky, therefore noticing the time. He’s ten minutes late. Steve Rogers is never late. 

“Shit.” he mutters, ignoring the call to begin peeling off the stickers in a haste. 

“Bad word, daddy!”

“Sorry, baby, sorry” he responds in a haste, when he’s sure his face is bare. He pockets his phone, shrugs on his coat, grabs his binder, and picks up Elysia as he dashes to the elevator.

“Hi uncle bucky! Hi uncle sam!” Elysia bounces at the sight of her god fathers, waving at the two as she walks by on her father’s hip. 

Steve walks in stoically, there was no way in hell he’d let his men enjoy him coming in flustered and out of sorts. Everyone was in attendance, and sat in their respective seats. When he begins to settle down and start the meeting there’s laughter in the air. 

“The fu--” he stops himself, taking a deep breath. “Would anyone mind letting me in on what’s so hysterical?”

‘The fuck are you clowns laughing at’ is what he really wanted to say. 

“You gotta..” Bucky stops to gather himself, a smirk on his face. “Got a little something there,” he points at his own jaw as a mirror. 

Steve sighs, attempting to find the bright, pink, glittery sticker on his face when his little one speaks up, “I’ve got it, daddy” she peels it off easily and places it on her own cheek. 

“Thank you, babydoll,” he kisses her hand before taking a seat at the head of the expansive table. Placing her on his lap and passing her a small bag of goldfish with her water bottle. Elys has pinky promised to be on her best behavior and Steve had promised that he’d make sure the meeting wouldn’t go as long as they usually do. 

“Okay. As you can see we have a special lady with sensitive ears joining us today. Please keep your language clean and appropriate, however hard that may be.” Steve dictates, taking a glance at every man in this room to not take his words lightly. 

The meeting drags on, they don’t have much of a choice to discuss some matters at hand. But these men are smart and know how to improvise…

“Uh, sunshine (Lloyd) was last seen at a recital (strip club) selling kool aid (drugs) to any of the girls that would take it. We assume it’s his way to sabotage the opening by… you know.” Tony flairs his hand around as a jester. 

Before Steve is able to respond, a smaller voice gets to it, “Daddy, I love kool-aid. Alot alot alot!” 

Steve chuckles at her cuteness. 

Throughout the meeting everyone is meant to talk over and ignore the children's songs emitting from Steve’s phone. And the light, cute voice that sings along to some of them. 

A pack of goldfish later with half a bottle of Elysia’s water. Steve keeps his promise to keep the meeting short, concise, and kid-friendly. Well-sorta, there was one slip up but Steve was quick to cover Elysia’s precious ears and stare down the incompetent imbecile.

He’s packing his things up, putting his notes and papers in order while his little girl giggles at her uncle Sam’s magic tricks: pulling a silver coin from her ear. 

It’s her favorite and will get a laugh from her every time. 

In no time, it’s just him and Ly descending via elevator. Steve has decided they both have had a long day, and going home early for once wouldn’t kill him. It was seven in the afternoon anyway, close to her bedtime. 

He knows she’s had a long day when one of her small arms is wrapped over his neck as her head is tucked against the side of his neck. 

He can’t lie that the thought of sleep sounds good to him. He knows you won’t be home till a little later. But he can’t until you’re home so he can cuddle into you as you both drift off. 

“We’ll be home pretty soon,” he kisses her forehead just as the elevator dings!

“Okay,” Steve sighs as he enters through the familiar emerald doors, placing the baby bag onto the coat rack. His dress shoes are toed off with speed and just as quick he pulls off his baby’s shoes. 

He sets her down in the living room taking a seat on the couch.

“Daddy, I’m hungry,” she squeaks, walking over to the remote to bring to her father who understands her demand. 

“Does a PB and J sound alright?”

“Mmmm” she drones on, her hands rubbing against her clothed stomach. 

The sandwich is assembled at her request. Crust off the toasted bread and a little bit of honey drizzled on top of the peanut butter. 

Elysia sits on Steve’s lap as she nibbles on her sandwich. Steve is dressed down in just his slacks and wife beater; braiding Elysia’s hair in two as she watches ‘Little Bear’ and eats her sandwich.

He struggles to do so at first, until y/n’s voice swims through his head. Reminding him what he needs to do. 

As Lys chews and her father braids, she holds up half her sandwich in offer behind her. He smiles as he takes a small bite, smiling and moaning about how yummy it is and how thankful he is for her sharing. Then he kisses her cheeks, nipping in jest. 

Once he’s finished braiding Elysia‘s hair and Elysia is done eating her food. She scrambles up until she’s latching onto her father. Her arms are thrown around his neck while her legs clamber to wrap around him. 

Her cuddles are like sleeping sand to the mob boss. He rubs her back as he leans down parallel to the couch, his sock feet hanging off the arm of the couch. 

“I love you baby doll. Best thing to happen to me and your momma.” he whispers, placing three kisses to her forehead. 

“Love you” she slurs while her soft hand lands onto his cheek. 

Without even knowing, his eyes are shut as his breath evens out and his arm circles around his angel’s body to keep her from rolling off of him.

It was a great time. You were happy you got to support Maggie on her big day, but you missed your husband and the rambunctious little girl you were graced to raise. 

You remove your heels, hissing as your sore feet hit the hardwood floor. The house is quiet as you toe into the house. You can see the living room light is on. You assume Steve has kept it on for you just as you do for him and it makes your heart sing. 

As you walk in, to shut off the warm lamp, your heart really does sing at the picture perfect image: The father-daughter duo are knit together as they step in dream land together. 

His brawny arm is wrapped around her body and his mouth is dropped open in a way you think is adorable. It makes the intimidating man everyone else sees morph into the wonderful, sensitive man you’ve married. 

They’re still dressed in their day clothes, but nothing could ruin the cuteness overload. 

You tiptoe towards the two, leaning over them as your hand runs through Steve’s hair, the other down his free arm. 

He startles awake and his grip tightens on Elysia a little bit, but his body relaxes once he sees it’s you and smiles. 

“Hey, seems like you two had a good day,” you whisper, your hand running over the braids Elysia adorned, those were not there before. 

“We did,” he puckers his lips, and you lean down to peck him. “How was your night, have fun?” 

His hoarse voice is like music to your ears.

“It was great. Missed you two a lot though. Thought of you and that sexy tie all night.”

He smirks at your shallow attempt, a glass box if you will. 

“Yeah? I’ll finish getting her to bed and then we can discuss my sexy  tie.”

“Perfect. Can’t wait,” you giggle warmly, kissing him one more time before you stroll to your shared bedroom. 

He watches the way you saunter away, and if it weren’t for his baby in his arms he’d probably tackle you right then and there. But with much restraint he’s up and on his way to Elysia’s bedroom.

2. Mona Lisa

I stay in a two room double on campus which means that I share a bathroom, but the room is my own to do with as I please, within reason.

Typically, I'm milking this privacy for the money to fund my education while simultaneously releasing my sexual tension in the most taboo of ways.

Sighing, brush my teeth and reapply my lip gloss in the mirror. I can feel tremors in my poor peach, she's reminiscing on the good times when she was exhaulted like the queen she is. Men would spend literal hours worshiping her every crevice and pay me handsomely for it.

Then I head back to my room and assemble my hygiene kit to take into the bathroom. I shower, cleanse, exfoliate if necessary, moisturize, and redress for the evening.

Today's evening wear is a black graphic half shirt with a gold crown printed on and black high waisted shorts with black platform sneakers from Dolls Kill. I add my gold anklet for mood before turning on my music.

Approaching the office suite, I walk through to find that the other offices are already empty. I can tell because of the quiet and closed doors. Mr. Stevens' door is open and yellow artificial light streams into the small hallway.

When I come upon the door, Mr. Stevens is at his desk staring intently at a spread of papers, his gold-rimmed glasses fallen at the end of his nose.

My peach is telling me this scenario could be a problem. Dr. Stevens is a steak and lobster meal and my peach? She's salivating. Crossing my legs on the spot where I stand I knock on the door drawing his eye.

"Ms. Miller. Come in, have a seat."

Quickly, I plop down into one of the two chairs in front of his desk and sling my bag down to the floor beside my chair.

He awakens his computer, typing before reading through whatever's displayed. Then he turns the screen to face me and I'm looking at a layout of of my grades for the class. It's looking pretty good.

"Could be better," I stare waiting for what I came for.

"You're right, it could be. You see, as it stands everything for you is riding on this exam. You could walk away from this class with a high C or a high A. It's really up to you."

I lean forward with my elbows on the desk to look him in his narrow-set eyes.

"Look at my face, Mr. Stevens," I glare for emphasis. "Does it look like I'm down to settle for a high C? What did we discuss in the classroom?"

Again, it's a chess match of stares.

After about ten seconds this time, he pulls his glasses off, folding them gently and sitting them off the the side near the computer. He turns the computer screen back to it's original position and pulls a paper packet from his desk, raising it vertical with the print side facing towards himself and away from me.

It's the exam, I know it. I maintain eye contact.

"This," he pauses holding it up near his head. "If anyone... and I mean anyone.. discovers that you have this... you're on your own. I'll turn ya ass in so fast your head will spin. You will be expelled."

I've never heard him curse before.

"No one will find out, I'll guard it with my life."

"There's one more thing." He lowers the packet setting it away from me on the desk near his glasses. "Correct me if I'm mistaken, but I seem to recall you saying something along the lines of you not playing bout your grades or money.."

"Yeah?"

Licking his lips, he leans forward and I sit bolt straight.

"How far you willing to go for both?"

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me."

I blink in shock. Not good ol' Mr. Stevens! This has gotta be a joke. Mr. Hottie would never sleep with a student, he's far too strict. 

"Gemini," he whispers, the name lingering on his tongue in a way that gives me full body chills. How did he know my stage name?

"Mr. Stevens, I think you're mistaken. My name is Phoebe, remember?" I tilt my head to jog his memory. "Phoebe Miller?"

He scoffs, loosening his tie and I'm aware of myself breathing harder.. loudly.

He tosses his tie on the desk between us.

Unbuttoning the top few buttons on his shirt, I can see his sharp clavicle and a tease of the muscle beneath. My mouth is watering and he leans forward again.

"Let's skip the part where you play dumb and get straight to negotiations. You're a smart girl...Sexy," he whispers.

My eyes widen hearing that word come from his lips. My thighs press together. This isn't a body that can hold back once started up. He's treading dangerous ground.

I lean forward slightly and the corner of his lips lifts in a dark smirk.

I've never seen this man like this.

He walks over to the door, closing it gently and locking it. Panting, I watch him do it and then he walks back to his seat, reclining with his hands clasped loosely in front of him.

I have to think about that, but not for long.

Smiling, he nods. It's the perfect scenario, I want to cry.

"You can't tell a soul," he whispers coming in closer. His breath smells like spearmint. His lips are centimeters away now and I can't hold myself back any longer, I close the distance meeting his soft lips with mine.

Getting as far as a peck, he pulls back looking away like a man who's just made a deal on something as trivial as a lawn gnome or a piece of patio furniture. There's an unrushed boredom that only serves to intrigue me as he goes through the buttons on his shirt, letting the white fabric fall open to reveal the built muscles I kind of knew were there... but never to this extent.

His skin looks like smooth rum and I want a taste, but he has a deliberate pattern of raised bumps all over his chest and abs. It's not a turn off. In fact, I can think of a few things to do with that.

He smirks as if reading my mind.

Leaning further forward, I'm out of my seat and leaning over the desk.

With my right hand I reach up to touch his right pectoral but snatch my hand back when he smacks it away. I feel the sting. He's heavy handed.

"Did I say you could touch me?" His eyes hold venom.

He sounds like me when I'm disciplining a sub.

"No sir."

"Don't smile."

"But my smile is so cute," I grin watching his wheels spin.

"That's true," he admits with a nod. "But you know what's even cuter?"

"There's cuter?" I tilt my head innocently and he smiles.

"Hm," he chuckles. "...Don't move."

Holding my position over his desk, I remain still as he stands up again, slowly circling out of my view. Behind me, he stands and I can feel his presence. I feel a spanking coming on. I can feel him-

"Shut up, you've taken worse," he comments and I wonder how he knows because it's true. This is nothing.

Her dad was being unfair, but part of Alix knew it was only because he cared. She had screwed up, and badly, and could have been hurt a lot worse. It wasn't worth an akuma - and definitely not her friend being akumatized.

The transformation cocooned Lacy, the dark purple completely surrounding her before dropping away.

She now wore a sleeveless knee-length pink dress, that was styled like a cheap Greek goddess Halloween costume. The dress fell barely past her knees, and seemed to fade instead of end. She had the stereotypical Greek sandals, and a rose gold arm cuff. Two gold ropes curled up both of her forearms. Her hair was pulled up in a high ponytail, and though she didn't have a butterfly mask she had dark purple eyeshadow.

The sunglasses case had morphed into a bronze sword. Lacy walked over, picked it up, and placed it on her back like Wonder Woman.

"Lacy," Alix said. "Don't do this."

Lacy turned to her. "Don't worry, I won't hurt you." She reached out, and her hands glowed pink. Strings appeared in the air. "And the name is Heartstringer."

She touched Alix's ankle, and a pink glow crept up her body. Alix could feel her injuries heal.

Heartstringer smiled, grabbed a string, and vanished.

Alim Kubdel was not happy with himself.

He had been harsh on Alix, he knew. But he had been so worried, and somewhere along the line that had come off as anger. At the moment, he was having to deal with a business dinner - badly timed, but necessary - but once he got back, he knew he owed her an apology.

He had only been seated for a moment when an akuma appeared.

"Lacy," he recognized.

"It's Heartstringer now," the akuma replied. "You hurt my friend."

Alim didn't argue. "I know. I'm sorry."

Heartstringer faltered. "I - huh?"

She reached out, her hand glowing, and her eyes glazed over, as if she was in a trance. A second later, she retreated.

Akumas usually didn't change their mind, but Heartstringer no longer looked angry. In fact, she seemed like she didn't know what to do next.

They stared awkwardly at each other.

And then someone spoke up.

"What is this?"

Heartstringer snarled as she stepped off the table.

"Audrey Bourgeois."

The woman in question was at the entrance of the restaurant, scowling at a waiter. She looked up at the akuma, and scowled even harder.

Heartstringer raised a hand, which was now glowing a poisonous green, and approached Audrey Bourgeois.

"Who are you?"

"Your worst nightmare."

Heartstringer bent her wrist, and the ropes around her arms unwinded. One snapped forward like a whip, wrapping around Audrey's wrist.

"You can't do this!"

"No," Heartstringer replied. "I am tired of seeing my friends hurt by negligent parents!"

She pulled on the rope, sending Audrey flying into a table.

The patrons of the restaurant had all scattered, but Heartstringer didn't care. She wasn't after random strangers - only those who had hurt someone she cared about.

Heartstringer approached Audrey Bourgeois, who was standing up and brushing herself off. Her hair was off-kilter.

"I'll sue you!" Bourgeois screeched.

"You can't sue people for their actions as akumas," Heartstring replied, readying her whip.A yo-yo hit her in the head.

"Leave her alone."

Heartstringer turned, adjusting her grip on her ropes in preparation to attack. Chat Noir and Ladybug were at the entrance, ready to fight.

"I don't want to fight you," Heartstringer said. "Just surrender your Miraculous."

"No," Ladybug replied. "I'm not going down without a fight."

Ladybug watched Heartstringer carefully. It was hard to tell whether the plan was working or not - Heartstringer couldn't just blurt out the identity.

Rena Rouge landed behind Heartstringer. Ryuko stepped up next to Ladybug.

"You're surrounded," Ladybug said. "Who are you even going after?"

Carapace landed behind Rena Rouge.

"Every crappy parent in existence," Heartstringer answered. "Gabriel Agreste, Tristan McClean, Ms Tsurugi. Maybe pay a visit to Lila and Drew."

Behind Heartstringer, Carapace's expression changed, and he tightened his grip on his shield. Chat Noir shifted his stance. Ryuko looked touched.

"This isn't the right way to do this," Ladybug argued.

"I don't care."

Heartstringer lashed out with her whip, and Ladybug dodged. Carapace, Ryuko, and Rena Rouge all moved in together, but Heartstringer was fast. Her two whips moved in sync, blocking attacks coming her way and proving to be a scary offensive weapon.

Carapace smacked his shield into Heartstringer's shoulder, toppling her over. Ryuko moved in to attack, but Heartstringer reached out, a web of strings materializing in the air. She grabbed one and disappeared.

Heartstringer reappeared behind Ryuko, slashing with her whips. Rena Rouge stepped in to block, and Ladybug threw her yo-yo and wrapped it around Heartstringer's legs. Ryuko twisted and caught one of the whips and sliced it with her sword.

Heartstringer teleported via strings again, and used her remaining whip to knock Rena Rouge off her feet. Carapace threw his shield, and it whacked into her face, just as Rena Rouge kicked out and hit Heartstringer's knee. Heartstringer stumbled back, and Ryuko took the opportunity to slice threw the other whip.

Heartstringer scowled and reached out. Strings appeared in the air, and she grabbed one and vanished.

Ladybug scowled. "I hate teleporting akumas. We need to find her."

Heartstringer had ended up on the street in front of the bakery, and Ladybug hoped no one thought too hard about that.

Pegasus and Viperion joined the rest of the heroes on the rooftop.

"We need to ambush her and end the fight quickly," Ladybug decided. "So she can't teleport again."

Heartstringer's whips hadn't regrown, but now she wielded a bronze sword. Ladybug had already pinged it as the akuma - and probably unbreakable without a cataclysm.

Ladybug gestured for Viperion to activate his powers, and held up the signal to attack. The superheroes all pounced.

Heartstringer startled, but reacted quickly. She slashed, parried, and dodged, just barely keeping the heroes away.

Ryuko struck, and Heartstringer waved her free hand and several strings appeared, trapping Ryuko. Heartstringer jumped up onto a string, and used it as a launching pad to jump over the superheroes. She landed on the other side of the superheroes, falling into a fighting stance.

Carapace struck first, smacking Heartstringer in the face with his shield. She stumbled backwards, barely managing to block Rena Rouge as she lunged with her flute.

Heartstringer smacked Rena Rouge with the handle of her sword, and knocked away a horseshoe thrown by Pegasus. Chat Noir attacked with his baton, but she waved her hands again and the baton was deflected by a string.

"These strings are becoming a problem," Viperion said.

"I think they're supposed to be connections between people," Ladybug theorized. "But If we can cut them -"

"Got it! Shelter!" Carapace raised his shield, the shelter appearing overhead and effectively cutting through the strings.

Heartstringer ran her hand through the air, revealing only a few strings remaining. And then she cursed.

Ladybug fist bumped Carapace.

"No more cheating for you," Ryuko yelled, attacking with her sword.

Heartstringer was effectively cornered, but she was still a strong fighter, and they were on a timer - if Carapace's shelter went down, would the strings rematerialize?

She had noticed that Heartstringer seemed super reactive - like her peripheral vision had increased. If she could test it out-

"Lucky charm!"

A bag of marbles fell into Ladybug's hand. She stared at it for a moment, before looking back at Heartstringer.

Ladybug threw a marble, straight at the back of Heartstringer's head. Heartstringer whirled around, knocking the marble out of mid-air.

"She has 360 vision," Ladybug said. "Rena, it should be easy to overwhelm her senses."

"On it! Mirage!"

It was one of her most-used mirages, duplicating the heroes to overwhelm the akuma. Heartstringer's eyes went wide, and her movement became erratic as she tried to fend off the illusions. Ladybug shot another marble at her, and this time it smacked into Heartstringer's neck. Heartstringer startled, allowing the real Carapace to smack her in the face again.

Heartstringer fell backwards, landing roughly on the pavement. She pushed herself back up, and stabbed her sword at an illusion.

The mirage dissipated, revealing Viperion. Heartstringer's sword had gone through the strings of his lyre, and he easily disarmed her with a twist. The sword went sliding across the pavement. Chat Noir caught it.

"Cataclysm!"

The sword crumbled in Chat Noir's hand, and the butterfly flew out. Ladybug caught and purified the butterfly.

"Miraculous Ladybug!"

It wasn't like blinking and being somewhere else- Lacy knew time had passed - but finding herself on the street with no idea what happened was seriously disorienting.

She had been akumatized, she knew that. Something of hers had hit the akuma that had slipped into Alix's room. But outside of that, Lacy had no idea what had happened.

Was Alix okay? Had Ladybug's plan worked?

Ladybug crouched in front Lacy. "Are you okay?"

"Shocked," Lacy said. "Where am I?"

"A random street," Ladybug lied. "I'd take you home, but my timer's about to run out."

"That's fine," Lacy said. "I think I know where I am - oh, there's the bakery! I know the owners, they'll make sure I get home safe."

"I'm sure they will. We'll talk tomorrow?"

Lacy nodded.

The miraculous cure came and went, and Alix was still healed.

Her father was home within seconds, making sure Alix was safe.

"I'm sorry for what happened earlier," he said, once Alix had reassured him multiple times she was safe. "I'm not actually going to keep you from skating. I was just worried."

"Don't worry, I know," Alix said. "I'm sorry for scaring you."

"You're my daughter, it's your job."

Alix's dad ruffled her hair, and Alix shook her head in response.

"So can I start skating again?" Alix asked.

"We should do another check up," her dad replied. "And replace your safety equipment, of course. And I'll give you another safety lecture. But then you can skate."

Every year, the Bloody Roses' agency, MMG agency would do an annual party, where all staffs have to attend, excluding the staff who had to take urgent leave.

Each year there will be themes. From what Ahrin has heard, last year was quite informal so they did a casual theme.

But this year, the company decided to go for a formal theme, where everyone had to wear a suit. 

But for the 7 girls, they were each given individual dresses, except for Nara.

She has gifted a dress from Bambam and it was a perfect event for her to wear it, seeing that they had a theme of pink/black/white/gold.

The girls are now getting ready, as they were busy dolling up themselves, for the first time with the help of Haejin and Eunhee of course. 

Those 2 are excellent with their make up skills.

"Oh my god! Guys! Guess who is coming to the party too?" announced Nara excitedly as she ran into Ahrin and Haejin's room since all of the girls were hanging out in the 2 oldest room while typing onto her phone.

"Let me guess.. Red Velvet?" Chaeun guessed and there was a sigh from Eunhee. 

"They couldn't attend because they are having a tour right now," answered Eunhee with a sad expression.

"Who's coming?" asked the curious Yeonji, earning a huge grin from Nara.

"Got7." 

As soon as Nara said Got7, the girls turned towards Nara, their eyes widen slowly. 

"What? Why do you guys look like that?" Nara said as she sounded confused.

"Not just Got7, Straykids will be there too. I received a message from Bang Chan." informed Nara as she showed the message to Hyunji who looked curious.

"Guys, he is like my little brother to me. Stop making it weird." Eunhee warned, giving slight glares towards the other girls who were giggling their hearts out.

"Eunhee is right. I mean Jinyoung would be jealous." teased Haejin as she was adjusting her dress, then feeling someone was shooting daggers at her knowing it was Eunhee.

"Just kidding." mumbled Haejin sheepishly. 

Eunhee continued helping Chaeun as somehow, she could feel her own heartbeat a little faster than normal as soon Haejin mentioned Jinyoung's name.

"You're not the only one that is nervous you know." voiced Chaeun. 

Eunhee just noticed that Chaeun was actually staring at her while Eunhee was busy clouding on her own thoughts.

"I'm nervous too," mumbled Chaeun and Eunhee smiled softly.

"You looked amazing, Chaeun. Jackson will be shook to see you wearing the dress. I mean not just Jackson, his other members would be shook too... seeing how revealing our dresses are.." Eunhee mumbled the last part, as she looked at herself and to the girls.

"I think my dress is quite revealing.." Chaeun mumbled and Eunhee can't help but raise an eyebrow.

"Personally, I think Haejin's dress is quite revealing. Yours is fine since it is black, but Haejin's are white," explained Eunhee, reassuring the other one with a smile.

"Well, Haejin knows how to handle it, so she should be fine," commented Chaeun, forming a smile while looking at Eunhee. 

She knew talking to Eunhee made her feel better because Chaeun felt insecure.

"Chaeun-ah, don't worry. You look great, trust me." Eunhee winked towards Chaeun before checking herself in the mirror.

"Is everyone ready?" Ahrin called out, already hearing multiple heels clicking. 

Both Eunhee and Chaeun looked towards each other as they groaned.

"URGH! I hate wearing heels!" Yeonji's voiced can be heard the next door, knowing how frustrating it is.

"Look's like we are going to suffer the whole day and night," mumbled Eunhee to herself.

"Are we late?"

"A little."

Ahrin looked towards the rear-view mirror to see the girls looking unusually nervous. 

Not just them actually, Ahrin herself too is nervous.

She has been observing the girls closely, and she knows that each one of them has growing feelings for the Got7 boys.

Including, Ahrin too, unfortunately.

She tried her best to keep her feelings checked but Mark wasn't helping. 

He was being a gentlemen and too nice towards Ahrin.

"Woah.., I thought this was a party..?" Hyunji's eyes widen to see how the outside venue looked like. 

There was even a purple carpet and there were photographers, including photographers.

"Do you guys want to go to—

"Nope. Let's go to the back door. I am not gonna take pictures." Yeonji cuts of the leader, earning a giggle to hear the usual Yeonji grumbling.

At the same time, Ahrin's phone lit up, to see a message and an unexpected name popped on her lock screen.

Mark Got7 

Hey Ahrin, the boys and I have arrived! We are sitting at the corner of the room!

Ahrin quickly make a turn as she parked the van at the car park.

"Wow. Even the car park is filled with guys in suits." Haejin commented as she looked at the 2-way window.

"Okay girls. Listen up. I know this is a party, but you know what is our job." mentioned Ahrin as the girls looked at the leader. 

It's sad that they had to keep their guard up, although they are somehow safe.

"Yeah, we know. Never let our guard down," said Nara with a small smile. 

"Waaaay to ruin the mood, leader-nim! C'mon girls. Don't be sad! Heads up! There are a lot of handsome—

"Okay! We have to go!" Hyunji quickly cuts off the older one as she opens the van door, knowing very well what Haejin is going to say. 

The cold air brush against the girls' skin.

"I kind of regret not bringing a jacket," mumbled Nara towards Hyunji as the youngest one sighs too.

"You're not the only one. The others didn't even bring a jacket." shrugged Yeonji as the 7 of them were making their way through the back door.

Man in suits were minding their own business now turned towards the girls direction.

Haejin decided to lead the way with a huge smirk, already heard whispers from the men. 

But Haejin's smirk changes into an awe expression, seeing how the hall looks.

The girls could describe one word, seeing the sight with their pair of eyes.

“Magical,” mumbled Eunhee as she looked up to see the decorations.

"What- Oh no," mumbled Haejin as she was squinting her eyes realizing which route they were going. 

"Girls, our company is really cheeky," mumbled Haejin as she turned behind, facing the girls.

"What are you- Oh." Yeonji was about to grumble but she gets what Haejin means. 

They were being led to the front entrance, which is near to the front stage.

The girls were supposed to go through backstage. 

Knowing the girls hated to be in the spotlight, the company must have planned all of this.

"Let's move, girls." Ahrin reminded as this time the leader decided to take charge, followed by Chaeun and Haejin on both of the leader's side then the others, not knowing all eyes will be onto them.

Jaebeom looked towards his other members, who were busy looking around while sipping their own drinks. 

He had been observing his members for a while.

They look really awkward.

Mark was facing to the front but the leader knows that his eyes are elsewhere and Jinyoung who would let out a visible sigh every minute looking impatient.

Jackson who looked like someone just lectured him but the leader knew the Hong Kong man is sulky, Youngjae kept on looking at his watch with a frown on his face.

Bambam who somehow looked pissed and Yugyeom who looked like he wants to go home.

He can't help but to let out a small grin, knowing he wasn't the only one who was waiting for his own bodyguard.

Just then, the boys notice that all eyes were somehow towards the front. 

"What's going on?" mumbled Youngjae as he stood up quietly.

Men in suits were somehow blocking Youngjae's view, making him to groan in annoyance. 

Knowing he was struggling, Yugyeom decided to stand up to see what's going on.

"Heol.... Noona!" Yugyeom yelled as he was jumping while waving enthusiastically, earning embarrassed gazes from his other hyungs.

Jinyoung was about to call Yugyeom out but his eyes made him turned mute.

Jaebeom let out a bashful laugh as soon he locked eyes with Haejin who let out a smirk towards him.

It was obvious that Ahrin was avoiding Mark's eyes so the LA guy decided to tease the leader of the Bloody Roses by keeping his eyes locked with hers.

The same goes for Jinyoung as Eunhee was avoiding his gaze. 

Jackson was the only one who looked so excited and happy, waving towards Chaeun excitedly while gesturing to come and sit beside him.

Youngjae who tried to look away but failed as his eyes met with Yeonji, both of them look away shyly.

"Damn Nara! I knew the dress looked good on you!" yelled Bambam while clapping proudly, earning an approving nod from Yugyeom but soon, his eyes traveled to the last girl who's shadow being blocked the older girls.

Yugyeom could feel his own cheeks turning red to see how beautiful Hyunji looked in his eyes.

The Got7 members are not the only one feeling shy, the girls already felt embarrassed as soon as they step into the hall, seeing the men's gaze towards them, but the embarrassing feeling turned into a shy one as soon as their eyes turned towards a group of gorgeous guys in the corner of the room.

All of them looked exactly the same as the photos on the internet for their photo-shoot.

"Girls! You look stunning!" 

A voice beamed and Got7 swore that they could see their bodyguards faces turned 360, especially Chaeun who was smiling eye to eye towards Jackson who is now letting out a poker face as she turned towards the guy who was walking towards them.

"We know, Junsu." said Haejin, her tone being sarcastic while smirking, turning towards Jaebeom with a wink.

Jaebeom can't help but let out a scoff, knowing Haejin was being sarcastic. 

Sometimes, Jaebeom doesn't even know when Haejin is being serious or not. The girl will always end everything with a joke.

"I didn't know that they invited you." Hyunji voiced out, her voice was sharp indicating that the youngest somehow didn't like the guy. 

It was too obvious by the look that Hyunji gave as she stared at Junsu.

Those 2 have a history together, and sadly they end things not in a nice way.

It was the first time seeing Hyunji looked pissed, from Yugyeom's eyes. 

Hyunji was always smiling whenever she is with Yugyeom.

"Right. Junsu, this is Got7. I'm sure you know them." introduced Ahrin and the 7 guys bowed towards Junsu. 

"Very famous and good looking, right Hyunji?" Haejin teased towards the youngest, eyeing towards Yugyeom, to light up the mood.

Hyunji raised an eyebrow as the answer towards Haejin.

"Hyunj—

"I'm hungry! Let's get some food! Bambam, let's go!" Nara cuts off Junsu as she gestured Bambam and the boy quickly stood up abruptly. 

Yugyeom nudges onto Hyunji's arm, seeing she was in a daze. Hyunji responded with a hum.

"I'm hungry and I don't want to go alone." pouted Yugyeom who leaning closely towards Hyunji. 

Yugyeom beamed happily, seeing Hyunji lips formed into a smile.

"Let's go!"

"Who is that guy anyway?" inquired Bambam while looking towards Junsu. 

Bambam was actually observing the guy from far, and it's been half an hour to see him staring at Hyunji, who had her eyes on Yugyeom. 

The taller one is too into his conversation, not realizing another guy is staring at his bodyguard.

"I guess I'm not the only one who noticed that someone is staring my best friend," Nara commented as her eyes moved towards Junsu then towards Hyunji.

"That asshole is Hyunji's ex." cringed Nara as she stared daggers towards the guy. How dare he showed up after breaking her best friend's heart.

"Oh..... He has the nerves to show up in front of her face." Bambam commented and the way he said made Nara let out a scoff. 

Bambam looks at her, looking confuse.

Trusting Bambam, Nara decided to tell him the story, since everyone knows about it, sadly even the other staffs know too.

"What the fuck! So he cheated behind the maknae's back!? Now I'm getting pissed." Bambam hissed with a frown while turning his head towards the asshole.

Nara just shook her head, patting Bambam's back, relating how she feels.

"No one likes him anyway." continued Nara, grabbing a piece of cupcake, handing it towards Bambam, as both of them began indulging themselves with the food in front of them. At the same time, Bambam turned towards Nara.

"I know I didn't tell you this, but you look really pretty—

"What?!" Nara couldn't hear Bambam clearly as the DJ suddenly changed the song, from a slow song to a pop song, and the situation is relatable to the song, can we dance.

Just like the song, there was a part of Bambam that wanted to just let loose, have fun with his bodyguard. 

Let loose which is holding Nara's hand, leaning close towards her, whispering random words just to see her reaction, but most importantly, asking Nara for a dance while holding her close to him.

Bambam can't help but to let out an embarrassed laugh seeing how adorable Nara looks, holding 2 cupcakes on her hands, her eyes scanning Bambam, waiting for his next sentences.

Bambam stared at her before leaning towards her, whispering on her ears. 

"I said you look pretty with that dress." Bambam shifted his face away to see Nara's reaction, realizing her cheeks turned red though the lights were dimmed.

"Thank you, Bam! Well, thanks to the one who chose the dress." giggled Nara, holding the tip of her dress, bowing towards Bambam in a princess way. 

Going along with it, Bambam bowed to her earning a giggle from Nara, her eyes moved towards Bambam's face.

Even under the black and purple dimmed lights, she could see his handsome face clearly, noticing that his lips curved up. 

Nara knew that she is going to be in trouble, clearly knowing her own feelings. Unaware of what Bambam is going to do next.

But I'd like to skip the small talk and romance,

Bambam let out his arm, offering hand towards her.

That's all I have to say so, baby, can we dance?

"Nara-ah, would you like to dance with me?"

With just a little grin that Nara gave, Bambam knew what is her answer as she quickly took his hand, Bambam pulling her towards the dance floor.

Regina leaned her head against the window, reading the sign as they were passing, "Storybrooke," she announced to the others in the car. A second car, carrying her workmen and equipment followed. The cars drifted down Main Street, passing a dozen independently owned shops with names like Granny's and Game of Thorns and Storybrooke Coffee. She wouldn't be finding her triple venti soy no foam latte here. "Quaint," she intoned. "Do these people even know how to read?"  

The car slowed in front of a tan building in the center of town, below an enormous clock tower, with a simple white and beige Storybrooke Free Public Library sign. "Looks dismal enough,” she lamented. “Let's get this over with." Regina, Jefferson, Gold, and the model from the previous disastrous shoot, who hadn’t looked up from her phone the entire drive, exited the first town car; the workmen carrying the cameras, laptops and the lighting equipment piled out the second.  

Regina made a show of stretching her limbs while Gold shook out the creases in his suit. Jefferson turned in a circle, taking in the 360 view. “This. Is. Adorable,” he proclaimed. He marched toward the double doors of the library and opened them with a flourish. An unmanned mahogany circulation desk greeted them. High shelves were filled to bursting with spines of all colors. Even at a distance you could see that most of them were frayed at the edges. The light streaming in the windows highlighted the dust particles in the air. 

Gold strolled past them and into the stacks. It was an old but very well loved collection. He could appreciate that as a collector of old things himself. As a space, there were plenty of windows along the front of the building, but the the deeper you got, the darker it became. "There's not enough light," he called behind him, shoving a book ladder out of his way. A cry rang out from above and Gold found himself with an armful of the bluest eyes he’d ever seen. Stunned, he looked up to the top of the ladder he had tipped her from. The books she’d been shelving were in disarray. He glanced back down at the woman in his arms, blinking at her stupidly. Her dark auburn curls were pulled back from her face. Her left arm was wrapped around his shoulder and he could feel her thumb brushing the back of his neck. Those eyes, made all the more startling by the blue apron she wore, studied his face. Her rose red lips parted.

"Thank you," she breathed. His arms tightened around her, drawing her face imperceptibly closer to his. Her gaze dropped to the ground, and Gold noted her long lashes fluttering against her soft looking skin, before comprehension finally dawned on him. The surprise of finding her in his arms was only dwarfed by the shock that he was still holding her long after it was appropriate. He released her abruptly, forcing her to clutch at him momentarily in order to keep herself upright. Even through several layers of clothing he felt the loss of her warm body. She righted herself on her heels, “Thank you,” she repeated.

He took a large step back, a hand genticulating in an awkward wave before he realized what the hell he was doing and dropped it at his side, pretending to straighten his cuffs, “It’s no matter,” he insisted cooly. Someone cleared their throat behind them, a deafening sound in the empty stacks. Gold spun around to find Jefferson, flocked by the rest of the crew, watching them. The girl blushed prettily and put a well practiced but sincere smile on her face, "May I help you?"

Regina emerged from the crowd, pausing to look the woman up and down, "We have everything we need,” she dismissed. “We’re just going to take a few pictures."  

The librarian’s brows furrowed, “Pictures?"

Regina turned on her heels, sweeping her arms across the room like a model on a game show, "We’re going to use your little library as the background in a few pictures for Jefferson's lookbook," she announced this like the great honor is was.  

But obviously meant nothing to the young woman, "Lookbook?"  

Regina ignored her question. She’d already banished the book girl from her mind and was now in complete art director mode. “The gown is green and there’s too many red books here. I don’t need it looking like Christmas, this is a spring collection. Get them out of here." The workmen sprang into action, scurrying in seven different directions and yanking anything with a scarlet, wine or berry shade off the shelves and tossing them in piles on the tables or floor.

The echo of volumes hitting the ground woke the librarian out of her momentary stupor, "Hey, hey, hey! Hey, stop! Stop it! No, no don’t do that! You mustn’t mix them up! They’re in Dewey Decimal!” She scrambled after Doc in one direction, “All the books on that shelf are Language.” She was distracted by Walter clearing an entire shelf, “Those are Philosophy and Psychology. Put them back!" She looked pleadingly at Leroy rushing by with a pile of books balanced under his chin, "Please talk to her, it’ll take me hours to put these put back in order."

He shook his head, "Sister, you don't talk to Regina Mills, you only listen."

Gold took the opportunity the chaos provided to melt into the background and observe, where he preferred to be. He collared one of the men and put him to work setting up the lighting equipment while he went about unpacking his camera. He was here to do the job he was being paid to do and nothing else. He couldn’t concern himself with pretty little librarians and their blue eyes and their books.

Said librarian, meanwhile, had given up on the men dismantling her library and was displaying her foolish bravery by marching right up to their leader, “You can’t do this!”

Regina glowered down at her, “Don’t my tax dollars pay your salary?”

Jefferson, sensing an impending blowup, snatched the librarian’s hand, pulling her into the frame, "I think we should use her in the shot."

“What?” both women exclaimed.

"She's dressed like a milkmaid," Regina bemoaned.

Jefferson, not to be deterred, dragged the woman over to where the model stood, still on her phone. He plucked a hardback from one of the heaps on his way, “Here, you’re selling a book to her.”  

Belle stared at him, “I don’t sell books, it’s a library.”

“Sush, now tell our girl here all about the book so we can get out of here,” he jerked his head at Regina.

The librarian reluctantly took the book he shoved at her. The faster she could get this woman and her crew out of her library the better. She peered down at the title. Unbeknownst to him, he’d chosen her favorite. She smiled to herself but then she heard the camera click and, startled, she jumped and looks directly at the man who had caught her. His face was now hidden behind the camera lens.  

“Ignore the camera, sweetie.” It was Regina. “Just act natural.”

The librarian ignored her condescending tone and focused on the book in front of her. She took a deep breath, “This is a tale about compassion and forgiveness and a hero named Gideon.” She forgot about the shutter clicks. “Many people think it’s a cheap romance, but it’s not. There’s this one line I love: ‘But Gideon was unafraid. He drew his sword and turned to face the evil Sorcerer, ready to save the people he loved.’ Isn’t that wonderful?”  

Regina leaned over Gold, “How are they coming out?” she murmured. He was periodically examining the shots popping up on the laptop beside him. He nodded in the affirmative. “Great,” Regina clapped, “get her in the next dress!”

The librarian, tracing her finger over the lettering on the cover of her book, jolted, “Next? I thought you were done!”

“Almost,” Regina insisted, coming forward and placing a hand on her back. “Let’s find you someplace more comfortable to watch from,” she escorted her towards the front of the library. “We won’t be but a moment,” and then abruptly shoved her out the door, shouldering the door shut and locking the deadbolt. The librarian stood there, stunned. They'd locked her out of her own library. She rushed up and down the sidewalk, peeking in the windows but all she could see was the glare of the lighting equipment and camera flashes, so she gave up and slumped against the wall.

Thirty minutes later, the door to her library swung open and Regina swept past her, “Thanks, you’ve been a real help,” she called back to her. A dozen people followed in her wake and they began packing their belongings in the cars. The librarian crossed her arms and glared but everyone ignored her. She shuffled back into the library.  

She was met with a sea of red books. There were piles on the circulation desk, the reading desks, the floor, and stashed randomly on top of shelves. It was going to take her weeks to get all the books back in order. No matter how many times a patron came in and asked her for “that book with the red cover", this would never do. Footsteps reverberated from the back stacks and the photographer emerged with an armful of novels. He held up one of the tomes, "What shelf for Homer?"

"880's. Just hand them to me." The anger she didn’t get to take out on Regina reemerged. “You should be ashamed of yourself.”

“Me?” instead of handing her the book, he crouched down on the floor and began sorting through a mountain, placing them roughly in order.

She slunk into a wooden chair at the table next to him. “A man of your ability, working for them and taking fashion pictures. It's so...superficial. You could be creating art."

It was an argument he was familiar with. “Some would say fashion is art,” he replied. She narrowed her eyes, doubtful. “Be that as it may, the pay is good and I get a trip to Paris every year."

She softened, “I certainly envy you that. I’ve always wanted to see the world. I'd be in Paris now if I could afford it."

He took a moment to imagine her in Paris. "You would love it. There’s parties every night, everyone swimming in champagne, and love affairs around corner.”

Located in Geneva, the capital of prestige watchmaking, this new storefront promises to be the key boutique of the Le Locle-based brand, with a new contemporary architectural concept entrusted to architect Bertrand Fairerol, founder of BF RETAIL DESIGN & ARCHITECTURE in Paris and London.  Without being too literal, the sea is invited into the heart of this bright and airy project by playing up the concepts that evoke it. Like a slice of a panorama, the new Ulysse Nardin store concept follows a natural order: the sea below, the sky above, and the horizon that separates them.

Starting in August, the very first visitors to the Geneva store discovered a spacious, airy, well-arranged boutique with an impeccable flow and clarity. The space is laid out in several areas: client reception, showcases, and product discovery, along with a VIP room.

Playing up both contemporary and natural styles, using refined, raw, patinated or brushed materials on which time can leave its trace, Ulysse Nardin achieves a bold contrast with the facades of the historic building. The space features an array of details as a nod to the watchmaker of the seas: display counters in raw stone (a mineral composite smooth in certain areas and textured in others) reminiscent of submerged rocks; unique translucent light fixtures in blown Murano glass, suspended like drops of water falling from the sky; display cases and screens that evoke the air and the horizon; touches of blue that echo “Ulysse Nardin blue,” and by extension the blue of the sea; and finally, sand-colored oak wood that reconciles surface, depth, and the shore… The entire concept brings us above and below the water, in a chic and zen ambiance. The design is vibrant, in complete contrast with its color and density. The sea and water in all its forms are widespread throughout the boutique, dancing in a ballet of transparency and light. Movement, reflections of light, and transparent/opaque contrasts were conceived to provide an impression of lightness and elegance. A deep dive into where time is suspended.

AN ODE TO NATURE – FOUR NEW FREE WHEEL MODELS

Dancing center stage in this ballet of nature, timepieces are laid bare on the display counter. These new additions by Ulysse Nardin, all FREE WHEEL models, each feature a different watch face. The ode to nature and to the elements continues, with the FREE WHEEL dials made of aventurine, osmium, Carbonium® Gold and tinted straw, each referring to an element of the boutique as if to give a final touch to this new environment.

Aventurine, the translucent, dark blue quartz, evokes the surface of the ocean at night, when the stars are twinkling and reflected by the thousands.

Carbonium® Gold, a carbon composite with black, gray and golden marbling, recalls the raw material of the display counter, smooth in certain areas and textured in others.

Straw marquetry, whose every blade has been split, cut and prepared by hand by master craftspeople, catches the light of the boutique in shimmering and muted black beams.

The fourth FREE WHEEL is decorated in osmium. The rarest, densest and most stable element in the world, osmium shines in silvery blue, reminiscent of the translucent glass lamps suspended like drops of water.

Sea, sand, and minerals

The sea: the movement of the waves, the color blue… these nuances are called to mind through the blue rugs and translucent beige resin flooring. Between transparency and opacity, reflects and matte finishes, sharpness and flow, water is conveyed through various types of glass and resins.

The tables evoke the mineral aspect of rocks, polished by the swells breaking against the reef, while curving white carpets encapsulate the sand, emerging from the sea as an islet.

Sky and air

This intangible element forms the atmosphere. Light is filtered through it by water, ever present in its various forms: clouds, rain, mist… As if suspended, a set of glass panels in varying degrees of translucency filters soft, diffused light in the background. The architect also added hanging glass light fixtures that represent drops of water, along with a textured ceiling to depict the presence of clouds.

Horizon

The horizon is treated as an element in its own right. Where the water and the air meet, this band borrows codes from both these elements: materiality/immateriality, transparency, overlapping, movement, depth.
