#the old guard #kaysanova #yusuf al kaysani #nicolo di genova #siggy draws #it ain't much but it's more than i've drawn in months. i miss this sort of cartoony style. like a dreamworks movie almost lol #my brain conjured an anime ending apparently and i can't explain why #maybe they're too girly looking but i didn't feel like using reference pictures so i guess they're bishounen sdfghfds #ahh i usually have director's commentary in the tags #yusuf is probably around 23-25 and nico is 19-22? though i can't say confidently that yusuf would be able to grow a full beard at 23 #but maybe he can maybe he's just that powerful #they're either very sad and lonely or very pensive. or both. maybe they're longing for something more... maybe a true love #i also dk what these clothes are. yusuf has some good clothes on. is probably flourishing as a merchant but still longs for More #nicolo is wearing... a tunic? but it could be a thin gambeson instead. maybe he's learning how to use a sword #i try to capture their best assets in this doodly style: yusuf's eyelashes and cute ears and weirdly shaped eyebrows #and nicolo's nose and heavy brow and the fact that he has almost no lips from the side lol

Current art project is "learn to draw icons", so this is an initial attempt at making the same(ish) expression on two different faces, in a way that will reduce in size and still read (that's the hard bit!)

I think it's working! Faramir less than Éomer, but I think that's because I had to go in and fuck with the skin tone on him, having come out of Clip Studio and gone "good lord that's a white man". So I think for future ones, I should darken the line colour on him a bit - he and Éomer have the same line colour, but it obviously stands out more on "anglo-saxon blonde dude" than "olive-skinned mediterranean vibes".

Mmm why am I learning so much about myself in the past year that like I have proof did exist before now its just only being made aware now- anyway I should go to bed im skipping showering again even, time to try and figure out what I look like in my ideal future when I suck at imagining faces so bad, or at least making them up

planning to maybe go to a con for the first time this spring, and also to maybe cosplay for the first time

SHAVING JOB FINALLY DONE 👍🏻 and by that I mean ive banned myself from my scissors until tonight because otherwise I'll keep fucking w my beard and whittle it down to nothing:/ this cause was not helped by me pulling out the clippers for the first time in months and having to get used to those again and I got maybe overzealous but ehe ^_^ now I'm like. Normal man beard length I think. Instsad of 'trans guy desperately holding onto any and all beard no matter how long or disheveled' length.

#stuck to the neckbeard n sideburns i tried giving em a bit of shape #so theres some bits i removed like completely which is a big move #also i used only the bare clippers n i hope thats satisfactory bcos otherwise ill have to learn how to shave :/#which tbh would b very gender and i do have a razor banging about i think. but :/#left my chin hairs and such mostly alone bcos i want them to be longer theyre novel + nicer than neckbeard #but i did have to trim a couple down :(#all in all this was a good idea its a new fun look and i actually get a look at whats going on w my beard instead of Being Ambiguous
