My Monster Hunter Iron Hammer project is finally, finally done!
In all its low-poly, hand-painted drab-background glory! I am actually pretty happy with this. I would've liked this done a long time ago, and even this post to be out like a week ago, but the results are pretty solid.
I learned a lot about texturing details, the scale they should be that's readable from a far (I'm looking at you guild crest) and their distribution and density around the prop itself. Also had a moment where some other stuff regarding just illustration in general clicked that caused me to redo a bunch of detaling on this - but this came out better for it. This looked pretty solid near the end, but my decision to do a final, extra bit of metal shine, plus a bit of color overlay and shading really brought it home.
Against my better judgement I'm going to do another one - the Giant Jawblade - but the lesson this time will be speed.
(modelled in 3DSmax, textured in substance painter, rendered in marmoset)
WOOO after 5 weeks of work (which honestly could've been compressed down to a week if i didn't have to wait for my teacher's reviews at the end of each week), my little portfolio masterpiece (in the literal, historical sense) is complete :)
now i just have to send job applications everywhere 😭😭
More work from the second year of Uni. This here is the first proper team game project I worked on. With my teammates Will, Will and Maksym. The game: Kubo's Adventure (Or something like that.) You play as Kubo the turtle, a ruins explorer, out on the hunt for an artefact deep within a pyramid.
The ruins were shared by lizards and birds and has four wings representing different seasons. I unfortunatly cannot find all of the art for this, there was an interesting sketch of a indoor waterway but unsure if that got corrupted or lost. Luckily I had uploaded the most important 3D assets too and some bonus ones back when sketchfab didn't have a limit. (And cool rendering/lighting scenes pre set up)
The Statues
The artefact/goal and Puzzle pieces. An ancient crown of pure gold.
Some of the props dotted around. Really I should have put them together in to one scene but I wasn't thinking about it like that when I uploaded them.
WUG is finally finished, we did our first test fit last night and tweaked everything that needed fixing. It was a long road and we used A LOT of new techniques, but it was worth it in the end! Just need a few things for my Invincible 2 crew mate and we’ll be ready for #galaxycon!
Just a silly idea I had for a faux magazine ad featuring my Croaka Cola model. I had a lot of fun making it! It was very refreshing to throw pretty nonsense together without regard for realism.
I think the Australian-ness of Samurai Unicorn is often lost in the PSX/Cyberpunk art setting... So we have doubled our efforts and are determined to make sure a very specific type of 90s Australiana is represented.
