Venuz is a nightmare for traditionalist parents everywhere! He plays polite whenever he sees them, but they know he's up to no good. Frankly, Bill's up to no good, so anyone he hangs around probably is, too. And, like any teenage-girl-at-heart, the more his parents don't like him, the more Bill does!

Well, frankly, Scalene probably doesn't care as much as Euclid does. (In my headcanon) she's a luxurious, dramatic wine aunt who larps being rich, so she's more just jealous that her son is doing "better" than her. Yeah, jealous of her own kid, super mature. Euclid, on the other hand, is the kind of guy who cannot manage his emotions. He's neurotic and terrified of breaking societal rules and that fear is expressed in anger towards Bill's delinquency and intolerance for anything that's "weird" (such as Venuz's conical shape. Where the heck are your sides?!).

As for Venuz's parents...his father left the moment his mother got pregnant, so he's never in the picture. His mom, however, was an ice-cold saleswoman who attempted for a while to teach her son about the harshness of life before letting him fend for himself around age ten. She couldn't care less about what or who he's doing :P

a mix of 1982 tron and legacy. i wanted them to look more abstract, more like computer beings with a whole weird culture. i only named 3 of them so far (polymide, named after a component in fiber optic cables, petabit and RGB).

and the lightcycle. not all transport needs to be a huge fast racing vehicle. my dude in the hat basically has a sci-fi bike. definitely not the fastest thing in the grid! but great for delivering small packages

UPDATE FOR THE PROJECT

From 2D to 3D

This is more of a big update for the people following the project than it is for the project itself. Because you see, I haven't told you guys what this short film will be about, haven't I?

BUT FIRST: Blender!!

I gave 3D EYES TO THE 2D CAST! Because those eyes are not part of them I wanted to go for a glass-like material, like 3D glasses of some sort. And because I knew I wanted osmething a bit more complicated for the shader I did some concept art:

And belive me, trying to put this into blender was HELL!!!!!!! There were just so many shader features that just dont work in eevee... but after suffering a lot I was able to get a result I was very happy with! Here is the shader in action:

Im not going to show the node tree cuz its BIG, and I made something a bit different for each of them, but if you want to know how I did something, feel free to ask!

**Now... for those that are intrested in the story part of this project:

Basically, this film will tell the story of three 2D shapes that were kidnapped by 3D scientists for studies. Why do they need the 2D shapes? They are a dimension higher than them, they should be more capable than them. BUT NO!! Intuition is in the heart of math, mathematicians first feel something in their gut then they try to prove it. So if you have individuals who grew up with a two dimensional math intuition, imagine how much math they could discover?????...
