I’m lowkey wondering if Adil and Bilall came up with the character of Judy Howard solely because they loved Kim Wexler so much. Because if you took Judy Howard out of the story, it doesn’t really change much. Armando still has his redemption arc since he saves Captain Howard’s granddaughter.

Other than that, the only things that Rhea got to do in the movie was be angry that Armando was freed and lead the US Marshals to recapture him. You could’ve cut her character out since the US Marshals could‘ve been led by any random dude since they don’t really matter much in the main story. You didn’t even need the moment where Judy spares Armando since you could’ve achieved the same outcome with the granddaughter forgiving him.

It just…feels like her character was written in at the last second because Adil and Bilall finished watching Better Call Saul, noticed that Rhea was free, and asked if she wanted to be in their next movie. They then gave her the part of “generic US Marshals leader”, realized the role was too minor, then beefed the character up by making her Captain Howard’s daughter. Just my conspiracy theory, don’t take this too seriously.

It's the most fun movie of the year so far! Enlightened delusional Marcus is in God mode and is freaking hilarious man! + The camera work, damn! too good, just too good!!!! Everyone was talking about letting the directors direct a Spider-Man movie but I would like to see them direct a horror/thriller with those camera tricks! That climax gunfight sequence is comparable with John Wick Ch. 4's bird's-eye sequence in terms of technicality and on some levels for impact also, insane stuff!

A/N: WELP! Here's the first non-canon short story of Legacies-

There is one f-bomb, but hey, technically the story's still PG-13, right?-

It was a dark and stormy night.

No, that's too cheesy.

Matija sighed as he erased the sentence.

'How the HELL does one write a good thriller?' Matija thought to himself.

Hmm...

I come from- No, that's taken.

I don't know how other men feel about their- No, that's taken too (And mildly problematic, makes it sound like a marriage is supposed to be permanent).

"THAT'S IT!" Matija exclaimed, putting his pencil down before throwing his hands up in the air.

"Be quiet fucker! I'm trying to read!" Faris said from his corner of the library.

"Whatever, idiot," Matija responded.

At first glance it would seem like Matija and Faris couldn't stand each other, since they're insulting each other, but that was their love language, insults.

Pretty cheesy, but they were happy.

... It was times like this Matija was glad his parents were dead. Sure they were good parents, but the day they found out that Matija had plans to get engaged to not one person, but five people, his parents lost their minds.

Especially since he was marrying three men and two women.

Matija was swift to lie about how he was gonna call off the engagement, in reality he ran away and married Faris, Marija, Jožefa, Branimir, and Luka in Istanbul.

Although... They had to convince Sila to let them into Istanbul.

~Flashback time~

"I know we hate each other but PLEASE! No other country in Europe legalized polyamorous marriages!" Branimir pleaded.

Sila hesitated as she took a sip of water.

"You seem to forget we only legalized it yesterday. And that's because Alex kept throwing tantrum after tantrum about it. And I thought you lot were already married, after all you have a daughter," Sila sighed.

"Well, that's because Marija- THAT'S NOT IMPORTANT! Anyways I thought you said Alex convinced-" Jožefa started.

"They tried, then realized being nice wasn't gonna help," Sila interrupted, "Anyways... I don't think any government building will immediately conduct your wedding." She finished.

"Then let us get married here!" Branimir begged.

"Beggers can't be ch-" Sila started.

"MOOOOOOTTTTHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRR!"

That was the telltale sign Alex was about to throw a tantrum.

"Fine," Sila sighed.

~Flashback end~

Matija's thoughts got interrupted when the library door flew open.

"What is it, Luka?" Matija sighed.

Luka, still trying to catch his breath, wiped his forehead before speaking.

"Alex just, huff, challenged Jožefa to a, huff, duel!" Luka said.

"THEY DID WHAT!? NOT THIS SHIT AGAIN!" Matija screeched, falling out of his chair.

No one heard his despair, as Luka and Faris bolted, probably to see the duel.

"I'm too old for this shit," Matija sighed before getting up to try to stop the duel.

"This is childish!"

That was what Aleksandra had to say as she tried to get Jožefa and Alex to reconsider.

"And to think this all started because Jožefa accidentally spilled wine on Alex," Sila sighed.

"I thought it was the other way around?" Matija responded.

"Whatever, I'm too tired," Sila responded.

"You and me both," Matija sighed.

"Duels aren't even legal anymore!" Aleksandra screeched.

"It's legal if you use berries for bullets instead!" Alex and Jožefa said at the same time as they took ten steps away from the center.

"I didn't know this was an American-style duel!" Luka said.

"DAD! DON'T ENCOURAGE MOTHER!" Aleksandra screamed.

"Relax little bear cub! This is good for people," Branimir responded.

"NOT YOU TOO FATHER!" Aleksandra groaned.

"If we keep encouraging them maybe she'll join in!" Faris suggested.

"THAT'S NOT HOW PEER PRESSURE WORKS! I think..." Aleksandra sighed, then she turned to face Sila and Matija. "Please tell me you're gonna help me out here," She pleaded.

Sila hesitated.

"Actually, I think I'll go see if Miroslav needs help, he and Jasmine just had a daughter after all," Sila said before running off.

'How the hell does she not trip while wearing high heels?' Matija thought to himself.

"Oh COME on!" Aleksandra exclaimed.

The duel was ultimately stopped, only because Aleksandra was persistent on making sure it didn't happen.

Unfortunately, Alex and Jožefa decided to reschedule for Friday.

Matija sighed.

Writers could get their silence, but this local grandpa writer was doomed to suffer, alongside his rival that was also a mother.

There have been multiple events where I wish things had gone differently, and I would give everything to be able to go back in time and change it.

My most recent one though would probably be something I call the "Hacksaw Mission". Everyone suggested I go with my team for that mission but I didn't listen.

Why? Because I was still trying to get over an argument I had with one of my teammates.

I thought everything was going well but...

My WORST to BEST ranking for Desert Rose's LIs

NOTE 1: I have yet to finish Saeed's route but I don't think my opinion will change much once I do tbh

NOTE 2: I've ONLY played Jack and Cindy's routes until getting their respective achievements in season 2, ep. 7 - and Adil's in ep. 10. I haven't played season 3 with either of them, maybe my list would be very different if I did, but I'm not a big fan of this book to begin with & I REFUSE to read it one more time lmao

7. Saeed - If he didn't look like he was 15 maybe, maybe, he would be higher on the list. But honestly, I'm not quite sure why he's an LI. He's cute, but the "little brother vibe" kind of cute. Also, he has too few scenes for him to suddenly propose to Yasmin. As you can tell, not a fan. 3/10

6. Jaffar - The story of the bodyguard and his protégé would have been very interesting... had it been better executed. The fact that Jaffar literally calls her his "little sister" 🤢 and that there is no romantic interaction of any kind until s3 doesn't actually help. He's more of a background character. Really hot, tho. 4/10

5. Cindy - I'd have preferred Caroline as LI, I find her waaay more interesting & with a more distinct personality. Nothing against Cindy, I just get the feeling that the author never really knew what to do with her?? Their romance feels pretty meh imo 6/10

4. Adil - I KNOW this is going to be an unpopular opinion... but I find Adil very boring. There, I said it 🤷 When I first started this book I chose him as my initial LI not only because he is unquestionably one of the hottest LIs (not just in the book but in the whole app) but because it was obvious from the beginning he was the rebel - it seemed like a promising dynamic. But he literally disappears in the second season and when he comes back a thousand years later Zain has already hooked you (that's what happened to me at least lmao). He is the most beautiful man tho, and has the biggest 🍆 in the whole RC - change my mind. 7/10

3. Jack - I looove the flashbacks of when they were kids (the "woah" scene is so endearing) their friendship and how sweet & passionate he is with Yasmin. The dynamic between the two of them feels tender and warm throughout, and as a bonus I will say that they together have the most ADORABLE son ever. 7.5/10

2. Mustafa - I've talked about this before. If the dynamic + connection between Yasmin and him in s1 had been the same throughout the book, he would have been inarguably in the first place. But from season 2 onwards he literally is sidelined and when he returns he seems like a completely different character. Yet he remains an 8/10 for his sense of humor, love of watermelons and goats.

1. Zain - You can tell it's the author's favorite route because of how well written and thought out it is. There's undeniable chemistry between the two characters, Zain's constant dilemma, Yasmin becoming more and more interested in him but not wanting to admit it out loud, THE TENSION... I didn't even look twice at him in the first season (to this day his sprite still looks like a Disney villain to me, lol) but the second season is undeniably his and I love that he's an official sugar daddy. 9/10

Who is a character that took you by surprise?

If you're the writer, how did casting/producing change how you thought about the podcast?

4. Who is a character that took you by surprise?

Lots of characters took us by surprise! The biggest one is perhaps The Journalist, who was originally meant to be a throwaway side character who I would voice once and never again.

Then he became a much larger part of the story, and the way our antagonists have been active throughout history. His love story also resulted in us casting Alasdair Stuart, who plays his partner and unrequited love, Dooley, which was a part of the story that still gets me emotional. Dooley was a bit of a surprise too, if only because his name (which I came up with) ended up being exactly the same as a video game character from a game Alasdair was playing, which I did not know about. It's fate. I'm psychic.

5. If you're the writer, how did casting/producing change how you thought about the podcast?

From the jump, I have most VAs help me build their characters, because I want that authenticity to shine through. I have a full idea of their role in the story and a general idea of the character's backstory, but the VA gets to contribute to more details to make the character feel alive. I didn't get a cast full of BIPOC characters by looking for specific ethnicities: a Jamaican Canadian man, a mixed race Chinese-Swedish Canadian man, and Mauritian Indian man... I didn't even know what Mauritius was before I met my friend Adil (I'm bad at geography). I had characters in my head and my VAs helped shape them into who they are in the story.

I could've made the story much faster and easier if I continued to do only monologues and shaped the characters all on my own, but then I wouldn't have had the level of teamwork, enthusiasm, and other perspectives that I do even as a small production.

If a character is recurring, I also end up writing the character based on how they sound.
