Illusion of competency feels like everyone studied for a test and did how they’d do but I didn’t study at all and guessed half the questions but still got a good grade. Feels like:

A. Their efforts didn’t matter. You could randomly be selected for things you didn’t even try to understand.

B. They think you’re competent but you’re not. You’re just trying to get the big number. Half the time I don’t understand the answers I just recognize what they look like. They’re not words they’re hieroglyphs. Nothing but meaningless Symbols.

C. Since they think you’re competent they don’t give you any helpful advice. They think you, problem solver and responsibility manager (positions you hold pride in), don’t need assistance. Don’t need help UNDERSTANDING what I’m doing and the EFFECTS beyond the ‘get it done’ (how tired will it make you? How bad will you hate yourself after for struggling alone???)

D. It’s even a illusion that your efforts on a test will be consistent to your future actions. Again. Could’ve been random. Could’ve lied. Could’ve cheated. Who cares? Who chooses what matters?? How long do I have to keep it up? How long is life going to be tests nobody told me to study for??? How long can I stumble through life just FUCKING AROUND AND FINDING OUT???

Yeck yeck yeck I’m going to buy weed. Woes of a bachelor degree.
