it is so important to me that rose is half-khmer. however, it sucks that her backstory gets weirder and weirder for her age (low to mid 20s) the longer and longer she exists. because her mother was escaping cambodia to go into thailand during the khmer rouge. slade was hired to guide her there and rose was conceived at some point during this time period. however, if we take it to the very edge of the khmer rouge (jan. 1979), this means that rose has to be forty-five at the very youngest right now.

METEOR GARDEN (2018, CHINESE ADAPTATION)

Episode 45

All Adaptations of Hana Yori Dango/Meteor Garden/Boys Over Flowers suffered from superfluous or filler material but as fans we often look pass it because we love the story.

Admittedly the last few episodes of Meteor Garden went down this road.

But one sweet thing was Daoming Si (DYLAN WANG) had a huge bouquet of flowers sent to his lady love Shancai (SHEN YUE) consisting of 520 flowers. So our Shancai decided to verify the authenticity of that number by counting the roses.

Shancai comes up with 519 and called her man to complain. While on the phone a knock at the door. Daoming Si appears with 520 watt smile and his hands behind his back.

Behind his back was a personal delivery of rose number 520.

Unnecessary (perhaps) but points for sincerity, love and and oh so sweet.
