Watched The Day the Earth stood still(1951), and yeah. This man watched it religiously as a child.

I may also be drawing connections that aren’t there but there’s some little things I can notice. Quirks, morality. Potentially just brain rot effecting how I see other movies but considering his literal connection to it- at least with a quote.
It’s also a fantastic movie in its own right, I really love thoughtful movies and metaphor and - people need to stop looking down at old movies because costumes are silly by todays standard.

Super 7 is adding a glow-in-the-dark Metaluna Mutant to its Ultimates action figure line. Due out in April 2024, it's available to pre-order for $54.99.
Standing 7" tall, the This Island Earth alien comes with two interchangeable heads and four interchangeable hands. It’s packaged in a slipcase-style collector’s box.

Inktober Day 3: Path
In the early days of Venusian exploration, the pioneers implemented the aid of the highly intelligent Venusian Occulo Bird for pathfinding and area surveying. Little did the human explorers know, the Occulo Bird is the root cause of the extinction of the only known sapient race on the planet (they were very small) as indicated by later archaeological discoveries.
One of my most beloved sub-genres is 50s Atomic Age Sci-Fi. I grew up on Them! and Beast from 20,000 Fathoms among others. For this piece I really wanted to tap into those 50s B-movie retrofuturistic sensibilities.

There's a movie called The Vampire (1957) that I'm pretty sure was the inspiration for Morbius (2022)

SUMMARY: Giant mutant rabbits terrorize the south-west.
The mod has not seen this movie, but really wants you to read the below excerpt from the Wikipedia article. Because all I want to know is how they got Janet Leigh to star in this.
"Widely panned by critics for its silly premise, poor direction, stilted acting and bad special effects, the film's biggest failure is considered to be the inability to make the rabbits seem scary."
