Janbia a Traditional Wear in the South of Saudi Arabia
If you ever visited Najran city south of Saudi Arabia, it’s recommended to visit AlJanabi Market which is the largest market for selling & crafting Janbia in Saudi Arabia, it’s very traditional to the people from the old times to wear it in normal daily life, basically it’s daggers in different sizes but similar shape with a belt made for it, the prices for Janbia can be from 300 SR up to 20,000…

A COWPARADE COW SCULPTURE THAT I LIKE
There are a few variations of shape, but the three most common shapes of cow were created by Pascal Knapp, a Swiss-born sculptor who was commissioned to create the cows specifically for the CowParade series of events.
LACKANASH ESTATE ON LINK ROAD IN TRIM COUNTY MEATH I first photographed this cow on Christmas Day 2022 and was a bit surprised that it was still at the same location this Christmas. Lackanash from Leacain Ais meaning the hill-side of the milk. It is a small townland near to the town of Trim and there is little historical information available online … can you supply more information? I first…

What lens lengths do you tend to use the most for your photography?
So fun fact! For the majority of my time as a photographer I’ve either shot on my old Canon t5i’s kit lens or the “nifty 50” aka the 50mm f/1.8 on my Canon 5DIII. I now have a little Sony rx100 that shoots raw and has a solid digital zoom, that’s just a pocket camera with some added sauce basically. A huge portion of my time is spent working around the reality that I don’t have the glass I need to take the pictures I want! Fun facts fun times.
Ever since my 5DIII shuffled off the mortal coil I’ve been toying with the idea of going full mirrorless, which I’d like to do eventually and really invest. But if I was still shooting on the 5DIII or a similar DSLR, and suddenly had money for a lens, I’d probably have bought the 24-70mm workhorse that so many photographers know and love.
But yeah—do not be like me, I am if anything a photographer who works against their equipment, not with it, 80% of the time, because I simply have not been able to afford better gear for myself.

you might've talked about this, so - sorry in advance. but what kind of camera do you have for things like thursday pics? not sure but i think you've posted some from mcr tour too. feel free to pass on the question, i'm just curious
Hi!! So because I am not a like professional concert photographer or anything (although I have recently started photographing friends’ bands, with my canon 5dIII) when I go to shows I usually rent a compact Sony. It looks like a small digital camera but it has a really great zoom and you can shoot in full manual & generate raw files! So it’s a nice happy medium between a phone and a DSLR. i rent a Sony RX100 usually!!

Your dogs are beautiful. Can I ask about your camera setup? How do you get such gorgeous action shots?
hey thanks!! the camera setup actually got a very recent upgrade- anything from the last month or so was shot on my canon r6, posts before that were from my 5diii. lenses vary but my current go-to is my 85 1.8 and I’m using my 20mm more on hikes right now for the views. I also just bought a 135 which should get delivered tomorrow and am STOKED to start shooting with that!!!
as for like, settings, I’m usually shooting around 1/1250-1/4000 with the widest aperture the lens can manage and auto iso! focus mode is camera dependent- I had the best luck using single focus points on my 5d, but the animal eye tracking on the r6 is really incredible so that’s my default now. if you’re on the canon mirrorless system, Charlotte Reeves of unleashed education has a great guide to set up double back button focus so you can have both animal eye tracking and single focus points available immediately!
general tips: get as low as possible, shoot in indirect but bright light, and do multiple takes if possible!

Dancers in the air
You won’t need to do too much searching before you come across the beautifully coloured carmine bee-eater colonies along the banks of the Zambezi River. Carmine colonies make their presence known with their vibrant colours and loud chirping, which can be heard for more than a kilometer away. I never get tired of watching these magnificent birds…

Hello all, so I decided to go for walk in one of dammam corniche with the camera to document the daily life with the trees & the sea, I have to say I got pretty lucky encountering some scenes which I really liked. INITIALLY I WAS INTERESTED IN THIS BUILDING ONLY BECAUSE OF THE OLD POST BOX ON THE SIDE WALL REF-226389-1
The Steps Pub was in reasonable condition when I photographed in December 2014 but it appeared to be somewhat neglected when I photographed it today [Christmas 2023]
THE STEPS PUB IN TRIM COUNTY MEATH The Steps Pub Is Located Across The Road From The Wellington Monument – At The Corner Of Emmet Street And Patrick Street. A few days ago I discovered that my Grandfather was the owner of this pub a long time ago. I had been aware that another member of the family once owned Marcie Regans Pub which is one of the oldest in Ireland. The Steps Pub was in…

What kind of camera do you use/recommend? Your photography is gorgeous, I want to get into photography but I’m not sure what cameras are actually worth it/what to look for.
Thnaks! I shoot normally on a Canon 5DIII, but for RiotFest I rented a Sony Cybershot rx100 (thanks Uma aka gwayupdates on twitter for the rec) because it's compact and passes off as like a small digital camera which most venues allow but has a decent digital zoom and can be fully manual/shoot in raw, which puts a lot of power in your pocket at a concert! I'm bringing it to my Atlanta show and will try to rent it again for Oakland, it's that good. I learned to shoot on a Canon Rebel T2i which I'm sure has an upgraded equivalent by now but it was a great starter DSLR :)

Always having a camera handy is my goal for this year. As much as I love my main setup, which is a Sony a6100 w/ Sigma 30mm, it's a hassle for me to cart around. I'm looking into getting a "sidearm" of a camera. Something I can put in my pocket any time I leave the house so I can be ready for anything.
True right? The adage about the best camera you can have is the one that's with you is very true. My two "regular" rigs are a Canon 5Diii and a Canon EOS3, usually with either a Sigma 24-105mm or a Sigma 35mm. I used to have a wee Canon Owl p&s that I loved and carried with me everywhere but it well and truly died last year. I have a Fujifilm Zoom Date p&s but it's not nearly as good for just whipping out of my pocket and capturing. So the search continues. In the meantime, one of the two big cameras will be in a bag with me wherever I go.
