my doctor wants me to

write about my trauma,

as if the thought alone

doesn't make me physically sick.

as if i don't spend every poem

trying not to write about him.

i don't want to write about

how he's still controlling my life.

how even all these years,

and all these miles later,

all it takes is someone

mentioning his name

to make me nauseous.

and angry. and terrified.

i am tired of being terrified.

she asks me where in my body

i feel the trauma the most

and i tell her everywhere.

i tell her if it was

localized to one area,

i would have cut it off by now.

i feel it everywhere.

like when you take too deep

of a breath and everything hurts

for a minute, but indefinitely.

i don't know what i did

to hurt indefinitely.

I hardly ever get annoyed at work but today I’ve gotten annoyed several times. After working a split shift is time to go.

June 10th

Early Morning

So I’m actually going to use my blog as a blog! I’m going to track my days to note my stress and mood, and also track what I’m eating for my dietitian. This can be completely ignored! This is for my benefit only.

Alarm went off at 6:40 but slept until 6:50.

Fairly normal routine in the morning. Got up, fed KitKat, brushed teeth and hair, got dressed. Went outside to do my morning barn chores and saw the chickens were free roaming which is not great during the night.

Got yelled at by the sheep because they hate being in the stall compared to the horse trailer.

Drove to work while listening to a playlist my roommate and I made together. I got three Hozier songs and a Sleep Token song on the drive so that was great! I’m taking that as a good sign.

This was what I packed for breakfast. I drink V8 energy drinks because I gave up coffee. It’s about to be two months without it. I wanted to try sheep’s milk yogurt but it’s far too sour for me unfortunately. It made me lose my appetite so all I ended up eating was the V8.

And I also set these up. They were an early birthday gift.

Started listening to this playlist while I started working in my cubicle.

Checked my application status for the new position and it was very confusing so I really hope that they’ll contact me and at least tell me I didn’t get the job /:.

Have to work harder this week because my coworker is out and I’m in charge of her responsibilities. Yuck.

My horoscope for the day (it’s just for fun).

Snack time consisted of a cheese stick and a handful of freeze dried coconut milk covered in chocolate.

Here’s what I look like today. Bangs are not banging since I didn’t blow dry them yesterday. Also had to pull hay out of hair as per usual lol.

Lunch consisted of vegetarian ramen, green grapes, and sugar free sparkling “water.” Ate half of the ramen and all of the grapes.

Spent the rest of my shift before leaving for therapy filling out my spreadsheets and then checking on the status of my application. I hope they at least interview me 🙏🏼

Therapy was good. I was able to properly vent about everything that’s bothering me. I got home around 5:00 where I had a snack of popcorn and some chocolate. Also my package came in that had the bulk unscented soap and reusable dispensers in it.

Decided to have a meal while waiting for my roommates to come home. I had strawberries, pretzels, caramel popcorn, and a sandwich that was cold smoked salmon, spinach, spicy mayo, and everything bagel seasoning (since I’m out of furikake), on toasted sour dough bread 🥖. Ate everything!!

Sitting outside while the sheep graze. It’s a nice cool day so sitting in the sun is very pleasant. The sheep grazed for a few hours while I sat in the sun. I also changed their water for the second time today since Princess won’t drink her water unless it’s changed that often and filled their hay bag. I fed them their pellets by hand to reduce choking risk and then put them up for the night.

After putting the sheep up I watered the garden. The garden is looking so happy and I’m really glad all that effort I’ve put into it is paying off. I’ll have to buy mulch soon but luckily it’s not a terribly expensive thing. All the sprouts are looking so good.

After the garden was watered I did the dishes. Then I took half of my vitamins. I took a shower and then blow dried and rolled my bangs so that they actually look decent tomorrow. I tried these cannabis seed oil eye gel things that were given to me as a gift to relieve stress and I guess they’re nice? Brushed and glossed my teeth and put on my night cream. Put my laundry away while KitKat ate his dinner.

This is actually my favorite deck. I bought her on clearance and she brings a positive attitude to my life when I desperately need it.

At 9:30 I’ll take my meds and the other half of my vitamins and then hopefully fall asleep quickly.

"WASHINGTON (AP) — African elephants call each other and respond to individual names — something that few wild animals do, according to new research published Monday.

The names are one part of elephants’ low rumbles that they can hear over long distances across the savanna. Scientists believe that animals with complex social structures and family groups that separate and then reunite often may be more likely to use individual names.

“If you’re looking after a large family, you’ve got to be able to say, ‘Hey, Virginia, get over here!’” said Duke University ecologist Stuart Pimm, who was not involved in the study.

It’s extremely rare for wild animals to call each other by unique names. Humans have names, of course, and our dogs come when their names are called. Baby dolphins invent their own names, called signature whistles, and parrots may also use names.

Each of these naming species also possesses the ability to learn to pronounce unique new sounds throughout their lives — a rare talent that elephants also possess...."

What percentage of Liar Liar would you say is done? Where are we in the story?

we’re only at the beginning of the main story 😭 here’s some context!

chapters 1-5 i’d label as the pre-story (pre-drama parts). they were written to simply give you context for a lot of mercupine’s relationship growing up (i’m a sucker for development 🫣).

so chapters 6-11, we haven’t progressed much, we’ve just been setting the scene for the rest of the story, introducing newer characters and developing relevant relationships/feelings (this is as a result of the DEEP slowburn i have planned 😟), so i’d say the story started from 7 onwards.

so the drama is definitely on its way by this point, but not exactly here yet. LL will probably have the longest word count known to mankind given how every chapter is over 10k words 😭 (apologies).

we’re about 20% into the story so far.

i just hope you’ll still be here when it all eventually goes down <3

...are they getting up for adventures at/before 6am every day?

like maybe the adventure for ep 4 is especially long, or maybe the work day was technically shorter and the clock was just going fast. but gangle says ragatha "gets off in an hour" and a full hour on the clock passes, and in previous scenes it really does seem to be going at a standard clock speed

even if this was a one time thing it still implies that adventures generally start at 6. and even thats not accounting for the fact that like... the show is operating on cartoon logic where the ~25 minutes we see isnt necessarily the exact same timespan that the characters are actually experiencing...

and honestly no matter what its implying that caine is completely willing to expect the circus members to be up at 6 in the morning for adventures

It was a busy weekend and it’ll be a busy week. Friday afternoon we were in the My Waterloo Days parade representing the Hispanic community. There were a lot of people signed up to march with us but at the end they didn’t show up. Thank goodness I asked some people to go so it was okay. It was fun but my feet hurt at the end and I had to go back to the beginning walking. David was driving the cute little car representing the stamp club. We went to eat at this dinner called the Steam Boat, it’s really good, we’ll definitely will go back.

Saturday I was tired and did some stuff around the house and Sunday David’s adopted sister came to visit us, she lives in Minneapolis and was going home from Des Moines. It was her, her husband and her best friend. We had a bbq and had a great time. Now, the three of them are hearing impaired and that’s fine. They were here for just a couple of hours and I was exhausted by the time they left, with David barbecuing he couldn’t really talk to them by signing and I don’t know anything about sign language. I’m fine using the phone but she wants to sign to me all the time. I understood half of what she was saying, the other half I did not know. She ended up taking a bunch of meetings that David didn’t cook and all the chips LOL! I took a nap I was so exhausted.

Today I’m working a split shift, and having a haircut in between.

so, like, just after doing the first SD card port connection attempt, i played around in the early game of Scarlet to see what it was like to dawdle there. i was hopeful at the time that i could make a full run out of that file, but i guess not. i did find Grand Pappy Smith, that's cool.

In a horse girl movie Neil’d probably have to feed him like a sugar cube or something? Janie had not watched a lot of horse girl movies. Kevin probably also wouldn’t eat a cube of pure sugar either, Andrew seemed like he’d eat a cube of pure sugar but he was not the horse in Neil Josten’s horse girl movie.

“Janie?”

“Oh yeah, right. Neil Josten, sounds interesting.” she says realizing that Wymack had been waiting for a response from her. “He’s the one staying on your couch?”

Wymack nods looking bemused, “Yeah, the one staying on my couch. You two are the only freshman we recruited this year so here’s hoping you two get along alright.”

Janie was more than willing to be the random background character at the beginning that lets Neil know that Kevin’s kicked everyone who’s tried to ride him. She’s even more willing to be the random background character that returns later to be amazed as Neil rode Kevin to victory.

The horse movie metaphor is breaking down in her head.
