Happy 80th Birthday Tweety!
Tumblr media
“I Tawt I Taw a Puddy Tat!”........”I did! I did! I did saw a Putty Tat!“.
Happy Birthday to one of the most famous Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies character, Tweety (or Tweety Pie), originally created by Bob Clampett and later taken over by the creator of Sylvester, Yosemite Sam and Porky Pig, Friz Freleng.
Tumblr media
Originally named Orson and was left unnamed in his first appearance “A Tale of Two Kitties”, until Tweety’s second film, “Birdy and the Beast”.
Tweety’s voice and characteristics were modeled after a then well-known fictional radio character “Junior, the Mean Widdle Kid” by actor as Red Skelton.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
youtube
Clampett would go on to direct a couple more Tweety shorts until his depature. He originally planned to direct Tweety’s fourth cartoon, “Tweetie Pie”, but was taken over by Friz Freleng and won the Academy Award.
Tumblr media
In a similar approach to Tex Avery, Clampett was more interested in one-shots (once stated, after a few Bugs Bunny cartoons, he became bored with the character), which may be the reason why he didn’t create as many characters as Jones, Freleng or even McKimson, aside from Tweety, there was also Beaky Buzzard.
Clampett’s original Tweety was intentionally sadistic while still maintaining his cutesy demeanor, whereas Freleng’s Tweety was later toned down significantly (very much like Jones did with Bugs and Daffy in the 1950s onward), making the character innocent, naïve and, for most of the part, unaware of the danger around, however, at least a few of Freleng’s Tweety short would include some of Clampett’s original characterstics, until Tweety’s sadistic nature was entirely gone.
Tumblr media
Freleng’s Tweety’s designed him with even less exaggeration.
Tumblr media
Freleng paired up Sylvester with Tweety, much to the disagreement with the cartoon directors’ new producer, Eddie Selzer, who protested that Sylvester and  the unnamed woodpecker from 1945′s “Peck Your Troubles Away”, Freleng refused and, according to him, he angrily placed a paper-and-pencil to his producer’s desk and stormed out. Later, Selzer agreed to have Freleng make a Sylvester and Tweety cartoon short, the first one with them, as stated, won the Academy Award, and the rest is history!
Like there competitors, Tom & Jerry, Sylvester & Tweety became labeled as “one of the best duos in animation history”, and who can argue with that statement! These duos starred in some of the best shorts ever made!!!

A Walk Down Memory Lane - Coyote
Pairing: Javy "Coyote" Machado / Bradshaw! Fem! OC | Reader
Word Count: 1.6k
Warnings: Bradshaw! Reader w/ a callsign (Tweety), no other descriptors, suggestive references, Third Person POV
This work, all of my other works, and my entire blog are 18+ Only.
Summary: Rooster and Tweety Bradshaw look through their mom’s belongings as Tweety’s wedding to Coyote approaches.
A.N. This was purely born out of a terrible joke. Since Tweety (Bird) and (Wile E.) Coyote are both Looney Tunes characters. And Tweety is a bird, so it's a Bradshaw callsign, obviously.
.....
I'll just escort myself out.
Master List
Tumblr media
“Turn right here,” Tweety told Coyote, pointing at the upcoming intersection.
Coyote followed her directions and headed down the road to the storage unit facility. After their mom passed, Tweety and Rooster rented out a unit for the stuff from their childhood home. Over the years, Tweety and Rooster cleaned it out bit by bit, but there was still quite a mess left. And now that they were both putting down more permanent roots, it was time to finally clean it all out.
“Are you ready for this?” Coyote asked Tweety, who nodded in return.
“Yeah. It’s time,” she replied, staring straight ahead. Smiling over at her fiancé, she grabbed his hand and squeezed it. “Thank you for coming with me.”
“Of course,” Coyote replied, pressing a kiss to the back of her hand. “You let me know if you need a moment or anything.”
“I will,” Tweety promised him.
She directed Coyote over to their specific storage unit. Coyote backed up his truck, placing his hand on the back of Tweety’s seat to see better, before putting the truck in park. They got out of Coyote’s truck and Tweety pulled out her keys to the unit. With a quick flick of her wrist, Tweety unlocked the door and they pushed it up together.
There were several stacks of cardboard boxes and miscellaneous furniture scattered around the storage unit. A bunch of clutter blocked the manmade aisles between the boxes, but it honestly was not as bad as Tweety or Coyote was expecting it to be.
“Did you want to wait for Rooster and Mav?” Coyote asked, turning to his fiancée.
“No, I’m sure that they’ll be here soon.”
And true to Tweety’s word, as she and Coyote started to pull out some of the cardboard boxes, Bradley pulled up in the Bronco. Rooster hopped out of his car and strutted over, still dressed like he was walking out of the ‘80s.
“Where’s Mav?” Tweety asked, putting down another cardboard box.
“He should be right behind me with the trailer,” Rooster stated, gesturing behind him. “Did you find anything good?”
“We just started,” Coyote stated, opening the box that he carried out. “This looks like a bunch of old records and everything.”
“Is the record player in there too?” Rooster asked, stepping up beside Coyote.
“Even if it isn’t, you can just find one online,” Tweety reasoned, pulling out a record.
The sound of a rattling trailer caused Rooster, Tweety, and Coyote to pick their heads up. Maverick waved to them through the window before parking beside the Bronco with his trailer facing the storage unit. Maverick slid out of his car and walked around.
“What do you have there?” Maverick asked, walking over to them.
“Some of Dad’s old records,” Tweety replied, holding out the record that she grabbed from the pile.
Maverick took the record from Tweety and let out a humorous noise to himself. Tweety and Rooster shared a confused look while Coyote handed Tweety some more of the records in the box.
“What?” Tweety asked her godfather.
“I’m pretty sure that this was your parent’s go-to album,” Maverick explained, causing Rooster to frown with confusion.
“What do you mean?”
“Their. . . you know,” Maverick trailed off, gesturing in a way that made Rooster and Tweety go green.
“Gah!”
“What the fuck, Mav!?”
“Please stop talking!”
“Burn that!”
“What songs are on that?” Coyote joked, leaning over to look at it.
“Javy, no!” Tweety yelled, pulling her fiancé away from the cursed record.
“What? It doesn’t hurt to know.”
“We already have a playlist. I’m not adding any of my parents’ sex songs to our playlist,” Tweety replied, causing Rooster to gag.
“Oh, my fucking—can you all just shut up!?”
“I’ll just set this aside,” Maverick chuckled, placing it back in the box.
“That whole box is contaminated now. One of you can take it,” Tweety stated, shaking her head.
After unpacking some more emotional trauma from finding their parents’ old sex song record, Tweety and Rooster started sorting through the contents of the unit with Coyote and Maverick’s help. The two Bradshaw siblings took what they wanted and whatever they didn’t want, Maverick set aside in a pile to take to a second-hand store or the dump.
“Hey, I found Mom’s wedding dress,” Rooster called from the back of the storage unit.
“Can you bring it out?”
Rooster set the slightly weathered rectangular box on the ground. Tweety kneeled down and cut through the tape wrapped around it. Sifting through the plastic, Tweety pulled out her mom’s wedding dress for all of them to see.
Though time had yellowed the fabric, the lace patterns of the bodice were still quite pristine given the circumstances. And maybe with a little treatment, Tweety would be able to salvage some of it for her own wedding dress.
“Are you thinking of wearing it for your wedding?” Maverick asked, stopping beside Tweety.
“I won’t be seven months pregnant at my wedding, so I don’t think that’ll work,” Tweety replied with a small smile. She pulled out the front of the dress to show the extra fabric. “See how much space Bradley’s fat head took up.”
“Very funny,” Rooster scoffed, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Did you happen to see the box with her veil and everything back there? I can’t wear her dress, but I was hoping to salvage the veil,” Tweety requested from her brother.
“Let me look again.”
Rooster shuffled a few more boxes around before pulling out a smaller one from the stack. Together, the Bradshaw siblings shifted through the box. After a quick search, Tweety pulled out Carole’s veil, which was preserved in a thin cardboard box.
“Should I see this?” Coyote asked Tweety, who shrugged in response.
“It’s up to you. I already bought the dress, so that’s still a surprise,” she replied, sharing a smile with Coyote. “But if you want to wait until our wedding day, I understand.”
“I’ll just do some sorting over there. Let me know when you’re done,” Coyote decided after a moment.
He pressed a kiss to the side of her head and stood up, busying himself so that he was fully surprised on their wedding day. Tweety waited until Coyote was a few steps away with his back to her before pulling out her mom’s veil.
Tweety was relieved to find that her mom’s veil was still intact. It was a little yellowed, just like her dress was, and there were a few tears and runs here or there. But with a little bit of delicate bleaching and a few minor repairs, it would be perfect for her wedding.
“That’ll be beautiful on you, sweetheart,” Maverick assured Tweety, who tried to not tear up herself.
“I know. It even matches my dress,” she replied, running her thumb over the lace.
“Well, now I’m glad that I didn’t see it,” Coyote called, causing Tweety to smile over at him.
“You got a lacy dress?” Rooster commented, looking down at the veil.
“I’m not going to say,” Tweety stated, glancing over at her fiancé. “You were invited, Brad Brad, but you chose not to come.”
“You insult my fashion sense every other week. Why would you want my opinion?”
“Hey,” Tweety snipped, pointing a finger at her brother. “I insult your fashion sense every week, not every other week.” Grinning to herself, Tweety packed away her mom’s veil. “And besides, I wanted you to come to take pictures of Maverick’s reactions.”
“Is it true that you cried?” Coyote called to Maverick from inside the storage unit.
“A little bit,” Maverick admitted, waving his hand to the side.
“A lot,” Tweety corrected Maverick before putting away her mom’s veil in Coyote’s truck. “Javy, honey, it’s put away.”
Coyote walked out of the storage unit with some more boxes to sort through. But when he stepped beside Rooster, he lowered his voice.
“Phoenix sent me the video of Maverick crying,” Coyote whispered to Rooster, like he was trading government secrets.
“Can you send it to me?” Rooster immediately asked him.
“‘Course.”
They finished sorting through the storage unit and started to pack up for the day. And once everything was swept up and tied down, it was time to say goodbye.
“Well, I guess that’s the end of an era,” Tweety sighed, staring up at the storage unit.
“Think of it as a start to a new one,” Maverick stated wisely, standing between the two Bradshaw kids with Coyote standing on Tweety’s other side. “I mean, you’re getting married in a few months, Tweety. And Rooster is . . .” Tweety tried to hide a giggle as Rooster turned to Maverick with a lightly annoyed expression. “. . . leasing a new apartment on his own and—”
“—Really, Mav?” Rooster interjected, very much offended.
Tweety let out a laugh and leaned against an amused Coyote as Maverick fumbled for a recovery on that verbal disaster. Coyote pressed a kiss to the top of Tweety’s head and grabbed her hand.
“Are you okay?” he asked her, just checking in.
“Yeah, I’m good,” she assured him, smiling brightly. “Thank you for coming with me.”
“Anytime,” Coyote replied softly. “I can’t wait to see you in that veil.”
“Just the veil?” Tweety quipped, resting her chin on his shoulder.
“Maybe after the wedding,” Coyote stated, causing Tweety to grin.
“We can still hear you!” Rooster announced loudly, ruining their moment.

A school had it in for me after attempting to *refuse me kindergarten*
While I'm trying to figure out whether or not that was someone I grew up with and who had a government job, and settled with kids in a state with Spanish as a national language…
And her mom who lived in a California town nearly engulfed entirely, by fire some years ago.
(She has three parents, like a dog, btw) Two dads and what was a basket case.
And that's not what this is here for; this is here because I walked to the coop. And on the route I would have habitually taken, there would have been a cooper (wasn't ever there before), and after walking by a (now yellow) house, a bright yellow car and another cooper dead ahead, at the coop at the end of that alley. This is here because *that's not normal* even for Ashland. None of it. Not the yellow hats, not the yellow backpack latina built woman who stepped out to stand in front of me, and on an otherwise empty street. (You know that tweety is yellow too, right?) And Vladimir Putin looks a hell of a lot more like that than say, a dog.
Ashland is now being run by the wizard of oz. They "didn't know what else to do" with all that chocolate I got back in the 80s, either. Cars and flagging colors are *very expensive* "chocolate for somebody, with some very serious real problems.
Can't be me because I can't use any of this stuff; cars, clothing, itineraries. Even "Ian" at the coop, had no till in his info desk register, so you guys are going to be short by a couple dollars and some change. And I don't think that's related, but *I do* think it's a problem for someone. An info desk has a register; that's chocolate at the coop.
So there.

I agree with you on race and a lot of what you’re saying but remember: for Alex Morgan probably 80% of her followers have never watched a USWNT game, much less a NWSL game—half of them probably don’t even know the NWSL exists. Same for a lot of the other people, the NWSL is known far after the USWNT. For women’s basketball, the WNBA actually takes precedent over the US team in people’s minds. Maybe if there was more equality in views on both it would be better, but that’s the real explanation for why people are freaked the NWSL could collapse (I don’t think it will) despite the huge Instagram followings.
Can I be honest with you guys?
The WNBA does not take precedence in anyone's minds but the athletes themselves. Yes, it's the highest level of women's basketball competition. No, it doesn't have a big enough fan following to sustain itself. It's survived 25 years not because of a following, but damn, a following would've helped. The WNBA has survived 25 years because the women in the league willed it. They sacrifice a lot for this league. They could exclusively play a regular winter basketball season in Europe for real money. They could all take summer off seasons, just like every other basketball player in the world. Instead, they give up their off seasons to make the league possible. They give up their recovery time. They wear ugly billboard jerseys. They put up with shitty working conditions while bargaining for something better. They do all this because they have pride in their league and the competition they've built.
They may not have big fan followings or big investors in the US. But their pride is worth something. UMMC had to pay Diana Taurasi 1.1 million just to get her to skip the 2015 WNBA season. That's how much three months of her time was worth. But her WNBA contract that season would've been only 100,000. So her individual pride in the league was worth a million dollars that year.
After 35, it's pretty much impossible to play year round without a recovery season. She could've ditched the WNBA and played her last 5 years exclusively at UMMC. Tweety Nolan did exactly that with her last 5 years. But, Diana Taurasi made a multi-million dollar sacrifice to play her veteran seasons in the WNBA instead of Russia. If you've enjoyed her antics over the last 5 years, that's the price she payed to bring them to you. That plus about 2k a year she spent on fines for technicals.
I'd guess right now there's 5 WNBA players making between 1 and 1.5 million annually from overseas contracts. There's probably another 20 making between 500k and 1 million. And still, they sacrifice their off seasons to play in the WNBA.
But NWSL players shouldn't have to make the same sacrifices. They have star power and fan followings that the WNBA has never even come close to. That's an asset women's soccer should be able to turn into league stability.
So honestly, the fact that the NWSL is collapsing despite the star power? It's pretty wimpy. I don't know what to tell you guys. I had to watch Lauren Jackson and Tamika Catchings fight through constant injury without off seasons. They were two of the most terrifyingly dominant athletic prodigies in the history of the sport. But we only got to see glimpses of their full potential. Who knows how far they could've advanced the sport if they had off seasons.
Imagine if you only got to see Marta play one or two healthy seasons. And no one even watched those healthy seasons when they happened.
So idk. I don't exactly have a solution for the NWSL. All I can say is the WNBA did it with blood, sweat, and tears. The WNBA did it with a body count. And I don't necessarily recommend that route.

Across The Serververse, Part 12
“Why do I have the feeling I know where this going?” Penelope asked, with a smile.
Porky scoffed and held his hands in the air. “Y-y-you probably do, but I think there’s at least one twist you won’t see coming.”
“Try me.” Penelope said.
Porky folded his arms and said, dryly. “Batman?”
There was a beat and then Penelope nodded. “Fair enough. Well go on then, we ARE on a time limit and we’re all tired.”
“Ch-cha-charming.” Porky grinned. “Anyway, so yeah. Daffy’s ‘brilliant idea...”
*High above DC Town Centre, in the main seat of a train*
“Alright P.I.G!” Daffy eyes were gleaming and he was shaking noticeably.
Bugs, seeing this, looked concerned. Daffy didn’t usually start shaking and acting like that unless he was about to switch personas and if he switched from his current new 10′s persona to goodness-knows-what-next Bugs didn’t know if DC World could handle it.
Porky must have been thinking the same thing because his voice was decidedly worried when he asked. “D-d-daffy are you alright?”
“Absolutely fine Porky my good pig!” Daffy exclaimed. “Now-” He spun around and transformed into a Yzma-esque dress complete with ridiculous hat and eyeliner. “-Pull the lever, Porky!”
The pig looked at the unassuming level and, clasping a hand over his eyes, apologised and pulled said lever. The entire train jerked into action and started ambling along the track.
Porky removed his hand from his eyes and looked around with a look of relief. “T-t-that wasn’t so b-b-bad.” He said, to himself.
Daffy tapped his fingers against the window impatiently and snapped. “For Avery’s sake, what isth thisth? The Granny-Train? We’ll never be able to save all these people-” here he jerked his finger over his shoulder at the passengers who were enjoying the leisurely journey. “-If we don’t get any fasther than 5 miles an hour! Gimme that!” And - without any warning - the duck darted forwards and yanked the lever further down. Unfortunately - seeing as Porky had already pilled the lever - all this resulted in was the lever snapping off and making it impossible to slow the train down.
Daffy whooped while Porky panicked and started pressing buttons trying to stop the train. In the carriages behind the people started screaming as the train gained ground.
“Watch me save the day!” Daffy yelled as he opened the window and stuck his head out the train.
Having known Daffy for 80+ years at this point Porky knew instantly what the mad duck was planning to do and screamed at him to ‘G-g-get in and shut that [Beap!] window, you Idiot!”
Daffy laughed hysterically and blew a kiss at Porky before swinging out the window completely.
Porky hollered after him but then the train lunged violently to one side, by now going to fast for anyone to really take control of it. Porky was forced to give up on Daffy and tried to focus on somehow slowing the train down. Just as he was frantically searching through his hammerspace for an anchor on a rope that he could hurl out the train window the entire thing came to a sudden and violent stop.
Porky was thrown forwards, whacking his head against the controls as he did so. Being a Looney Tune and well-used to having his head whacked against various things, however, he was uninjured and managed to quickly get his senses about him and stick his own head out the window to see what had happened.
Superman. Superman had happened. He was in front of the train, bearing all it’s weight on his arms without even breaking a sweat. Porky widened his eyes in amazement, he liked seeing the superhero’s doing there thing up close. It was awesome.
It took some manoeuvring but eventually Superman had the passengers on the ground and had managed to secure the train so it was no longer a danger.
Porky was amused to see that the passengers were clearly used to this kind of disruption because when they got to the ground the majority of them didn’t seem at all traumatised or even slightly shaken and instead just walked off to carry on with their day.
Shaking his head he turned to Superman and asked where Daffy was.
“I managed to catch him as he fell out the window.” The hero explained. “I was a bit preoccupied with the train so I handed him to millionaire playboy Bruce Wayne - you’ve heard of him?”
Porky nodded.
Superman gave a sharp nod and explained he’d be able to take Porky to Daffy as soon as he’d finished with the ‘damage control’ element of a ‘major incident’. Then the scene faded to white.
*Next scene opens up on the outside of Wayne Mansion. Porky and Superman are walking up to the front door*
Superman rang the doorbell [it was much to high for Porky to reach] and Bruce Wayne opened it.
"Good afternoon, Mr Wayne." Superman said, clearly pretending he didn't know Mr Wayne personally. "I think I handed you a small black duck this morning? Is he here? Only this is his friend-"
"B-b-brother." Porky corrected.
“-Brother - sorry - Porky Pig. From Looney Tunes.” Here a significant look passed between Superman and Bruce Wayne.
Wayne nodded and opened the door fully. “You better come in then.” He said, in his usual gruff manner.
The first thing Porky and Superman saw when they got in was Albert carrying four trays of junk food in his arms and hurrying towards the kitchen.
“You alright, Albert?” Wayne asked, the gruffness slipping for a moment.
“Perfectly fine, Master Bruce.” Albert said, although the bags under his eyes suggested the words were a lie.
Bruce clearly saw through this because he asked, carefully. “Are you sure, Albert?”
Albert gave a tight smile and said. “Let’s just say the young Master Duck has a rather large appetite.” And with that he swooped off into the kitchen.
Porky cast his eyes up to the heavens and followed  the butler through to the kitchen where an absolutely massive Daffy was sat on the table [the chairs being unable to support him] eating food happily of off plates.
The older and more responsible toon put his hands on his hips and snapped. “D-d-daffy Dumas Duck! Wh-wha-what the hell do you th-thi-think you’re d-d- playing at!?”
Daffy’s eyes lit up and he waved cheerfully at his brother. “Porksther! Good ta sthee you! Here, this food isth good, siddown!”
A close-up of Porky’s face confirmed what Bugs was thinking. Daffy had shifted personas from his new 10′s one, which he’d been in before the whole ‘Al.G.Rhythm’ thing, to his 40′s persona - and the forty’s persona was a bit of a nightmare too deal with.
“L-l-leave it to me.” Porky told both Superman and Wayne before the flashback faded away.
“So?” Bugs asked. “What happened?”
Porky explained that Bruce Wayne had very nicely put them up in his manor for the entire time they’d been there and had been quite nice to them and as Porky and Daffy already knew about his alter-ego they’d been no issues in that department. Well. Aside from the odd occasion when someone had broken into the manor and/or attempted to kidnap them.
“We were fine.” The pig clarified, hurriedly. “D-d-daffy jumped on their head and they soon stopped.”
“I’m not suwpwised.” Tweety muttered.
“A-a-anyway, the long and the short of it  is that the Justice League lot have spent the l-l-last couple of months tying to find a way to send us back. Eventually they managed to build a portal. It was s-s-something of a group effort. Even a few of the villains helped out after Batman threatened them with shutting down Arkham.”
Then, it transpired, that when they got back Daffy had had a breakdown, unable to take in that he was in his home world and his mind just snapped. He leapt around the place going ‘woo-woo!’ until Scratchy was called for and managed to stick a needle in him which sent him to sleep for about 24 hours,
“And dat was when?” Bugs asked.
Porky checked his watch. “...5 and a half hours ago. He might wake up b-b-before 24 hours, but Scratchy says that’s the maximum.”
There wasn’t really much to say after that and the LT’s just drifted off to there respective houses for a bit of much-needed rest and relaxation.

Author interview, tagged by @dreadfutures some time ago
1.     Name: Victoriousscarf and that’s all you’re getting lol
2.     Fandoms: constantly changing but some highlights include Dragon Age, Marvel, DC, Tolkien, Star Wars, and Harry Potter.
3.     Where you post:  Yeah it’s pretty much AO3, though I’ll write prompts here before moving them to AO3
4.     Most popular oneshot: According to ao3 hits which is only one metric but I don’t want to try and calculate them all it’s Looks Can be Deceiving, Even if You're on the Right Track
5.     Most popular multichapter: Again going by hits for my sanity it’s the forest is dark and deep and i've seen you here before  but I think it’s actually the most popular by most metrics based on the last time I was checking them. Which could make me cry y’all, you finally knocked the terrible Marvel stuff I wrote in a haze in 2012 off for top hits.
6.     Actual worst part of writing: Writing the scenes I don’t wanna write
7.     Favorite story you wrote: Probably at this moment still  the forest is dark and deep and i've seen you here before because it’s what I’ve been working on consistently for a very long time now and I wouldn’t still be here if I wasn’t deeply, wildly invested in it.  Find the Sun in the Corners of Shadows gets special mention though, I still love that monster I wrote in 6 months flat.
8.     Story you were nervous to post: Usually I’m not anymore. I’ve written some deeply, deeply shady things so I always expect the antis to realize I don’t just ship the batboys, but straight up incest. Among so many other “problematic” things, but I’m also not going to ... stop writing those things. So usually I just throw stuff up while muttering “yolo.”
9.     How you choose your titles: Pffft who knows. It’s based on the alignment of stars or something. Or it’s just me getting my poetry fix.
10.  Complete works: 200 on ao3
11.  Incomplete works: 46 on ao3 are in “non complete status.” A while ago I wrote out all my incomplete fics in a journal so I could start working on knocking out some of those “lingering in limbo for years” fics, starting with the ones with the least work to do. I got some big ones wrangled over the finish line in 2019 but then... 2020 happened.
12.  Do you outline?  Lol! I mean. When it’s in progress I’ll write sloppy little outlines for like the next few chapters/things I do need to do before moving onto the next big thing but they’re vague and usually very focused on a small slice of the story.
13.  Coming soon ideas, maybe? idk, I always have about 80 different story ideas in the pipeline that may or may not go anywhere. Like right now I’m running on a lot of Dragon Age daydreams. One of which is that Inquisition in Space thing, and that Inquisition in the 1930s Dustbowl thing, and maybe a cold war chess au because I watched Queen’s Gambit too many times.
14.  Ask me anything: The question already attached to this post already was: How did you start writing?
I used to narrate stories about Bug Bunny and Tweety Bird getting married to my mom... she would write them down and then I would illustrate them. Hilariously I think I thought Tweety Bird was a girl? Tweety Bird was not a girl, I was writing slash when I was 5 years old. I have a bunch of hand written stories along that vein, let alone the times any teacher in school was like “please do this creative writing prompt for like half a page” and I turned in three pages worth of alien backstory for a class project. Along with cut out paper dolls of the aliens in their spaceship to better illustrate multiple scenes from the story. (I still have these, I believe that was 4th grade so the 9/10 range).
For fanfiction it was back in 2003 when I started posting Inuyasha fic on fanfiction.net.
15.  Best writing traits: I have been told reading my writing is like being punched when you are down when I want it to be and honestly I’m very proud of that.
16.  Upcoming Story You Are Most Excited to Write: ... idk? I’m always excited about what I’m writing or I wouldn’t write it, but I couldn’t tell you which monster was about to be let out of the cage until it’s already out.
there's tumbleweed in my heart where love was supposed to be maybe?
17.  Spicy Tangential Opinion: lawns are outdated status symbols that should be banished back to 18th century France. It’s all about the pollinating flowers and local vegetation baby.

Fashion that is trending in different countries
We do not stop to think too much about all this but the reality is that being in one country or another also dictates whether you dress in fashion or not. When I went to Tokyo I expected to see those girls dressed as schoolgirls with huge bows on their heads and things like that everywhere, but the reality is that 70% of the girls dress in a very Western way. It is also true that the remaining 30% attracts so much attention that it does not surprise me that they are the ones who have gone around the world, but no ... in Tokyo, NOT all the young women dress as in the image.
But do not think that this is something isolated, the same happens if we think of any country. For example, in Paris, if you think of the city of l'amour, the bohemian look with a lopsided beret will come to mind, very chic, but that's not real either. Nor is it true that in China the girls do not wear kimono and that in Spain we go around with flamenco dress, that simple and simple.
Now, one thing is that stereotypes have crossed borders not being too faithful to reality and quite another that it is not true that there are certain cities that set fashion and have their own trends.
What is trending in Japan does not have to be here and that is obvious. If here someone wears their hair dyed an extravagant color it is usually because they have a punk look or similar but not there, there it is quite easy to see young people with flowers in pastel pink, lilac or yellow mane Tweety, very much in the style of the comics manga where heroines of the type " Sailor MoonThey wear electric blue hair.
The headbands with ears also started there, although now it is thought that Elettra and Alex Gibaja are the ones who have made them fashionable in Big Brother Vip, and the impossible platforms are also theirs. But, as much as it catches our attention and as much as we try to bring that fashion to our country, they will never be the big trends, but rather something fun to use from time to time to attract attention or I include something a bit geek to wear .
It is the catwalks, not the cities themselves, of Paris, Tokyo, Milan, New York and London, that dictate what will be worn each season.
In Pakistan clothing refers to the ethnic clothing that is typically worn by people in the country of Pakistan and by the people of Pakistani origin. Pakistani clothes express the culture of Pakistan, the demographics of Pakistan and cultures from the Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Pashtun) and Kashmir regions of the country. Dress in each regional culture reflects weather conditions, way of living and distinctive style which gives it a unique identity among all cultures.
Pakistani women wear the shalwar kameez which is worn in different styles, colors and designs which can be decorated with different styles and designs of embroidery. The kameez can be of varying sleeve length, shirt length, necklines. The drawers can be the straight-cut shalwar, patiala salwar, churidar, cigarette pajama, tulip trouser, samosa pajama or simple trouser. Zaaviay is known for best wedding dresses in Pakistan.
Tumblr media
While in the United States practicality begins to shine, in Europe it is the high Parisian style that prevails and, therefore, on the other side of the pond, two-piece suits are widely worn to go to the office, and sportswear and even the ball gowns with comfortable openings and gaseous fabrics and here, however, Italian sensuality prevails over the London “underground” spirit. That is why stores like Inspiramoda promote elegant collections full of charm and leave out the craziest tone of the collections of yesteryear.
Something similar happens in bridal fashion. We can see it perfectly in Miticca or Joana Diestre , where the collections breathe distinction as well as glamor. Gone are the princess dresses and also the dresses that simulate corsetry and lace.
 What is going to take?
From what I have been able to see in other European cities thanks to my travels, and from what the gossip of the catwalk world are also saying, this year the flyers are going to hit the flyers very hard, so in Spain we won because here they are We are quite good at putting ruffles on everything, even panties if necessary.
This new season, Valentino and Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, in Paris, and Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, in London, put their dresses in motion with a very romantic version of ruffles, and Roberto Cavalli drags this romantic trail to Milan.
The 80s are also back, and with enthusiasm. Tacky is back in fashion so you can dust off the leather miniskirts, sequined dresses and animal prints. I will not be the one who will wear those things but if you want to set a trend, it is what will be worn in high places.
On the other hand, if what you like is to mark curves, you better start changing the chip or stay out of the game, but if you are a little plump and want to hide this is your year because Emilio Pucci has taken the initiative to fill everything with a lot, a lot padding. In other words, the outerwear will be reminiscent of the white Michelin doll, the coats will be down and the jackets will have enormous volumes.
And if we talk about colors, then take hold of curves, because purple is going to be the color in fashion. Forget the elegant black, the pristine white and the classic pastel tones because purple (no light lilac) has been hitting hard on all the catwalks. New York designers, led by Ralph Lauren, seem to drink from suede as a fabric and from that color to create designs of all kinds, from purple coats to party dresses or suits.
Perhaps most of you are thinking that I am giving myself the goop and it may be true, I am not an expert in fashion, just a simple fan of it and traveling knowing the world, but I have realized one thing: the more I travel the more I know styles and my mind is more open, both to accept people as they are, and to understand that no matter how much designers impose on the catwalks, it is society, at street level, that accepts or does not follow them.

7th Comedy Monologue
“Hey my Cheese bags I’m back from my adventure in 1985”
“No joke if you look it up
the timeframe of days for each month this year
are the exact same as they were in 1985”
So all this “80s revival stuff” with Duran Duran and Depeche Mode touring, Petshop Boys releasing a new album, a new generation falling in love with Queen and She-Ra while the world is being messed up by a tyrannical iron lady and a talking tangerine makes a bit of sense doesn’t it?”
Even though I was born in the 2000s I’ve always loved most of the media from that decade, the gothic and upbeat synthesizer music, the cheaply made but entertaining cartoons, the video games, the basic but stylish fashion, the musicals and John Hughes films, the mix of music genres in the charts,Goth,Synth,Punk,2 Tone,Post-Punk,New Wave,Glam Metal,Alternative,Shoegaze,Hip Hop,Electronica
I was watching Saved by the Bell  before Netflix even existed
Then again a lot of the shows from then were also being revived back in my day
Dal Winton was presenting game shows, Pingu replaced the scary walrus monsters with rap music, I watched or had VHS tapes of the Muppet show, Noddy, Postman Pat and Scooby Doo.
Scooby-Doo! Now that’s a show that never gets old because it never changes, anyone regardless of what generation they’re from would be able to tell you
“Oh Yeah, I remember Scooby Doo”
When you think about it Scooby Doo is quite philosophical
we are all just a gang going on our own adventures
that and the first few live-action movies are modern masterpieces
I was just browsing Twitter or Tumblr or literally anywhere on the internet only to see that screencaps were taken from the live action Scooby Doo interviews had turned into memes
*ahem*
Well,I was auditioning for the role of Velma, I could sense from the way Matthew Lillard just fully encompassed the role of Shaggy, it felt like he was Shaggy, he was our saviour as he felt his spiritual energy increase, that’s when I knew we were working with a legend
Something like that although Matthew isn’t too fond of the memes himself specifically the ones where his spiritual connections are described more like demon possession rituals
*ahem*
“Being Shaggy has led me down a path of death and destruction. I’ve killed many mortals in hope of replicating 1% of Shaggy’s being, by the end of filming I hope to become one with him”
In which Matthew responded with
*deadpan voice*
This is wrong
I mean I might also have inspirations where I feel like I can philosophically connect with them, in their performing style and personality but that’s where I draw the line
Personality?  That’s a tricky subject
You could say some people have consistent personalities
People said Freddie Mercury and David Bowie were party animals who were incredible on stage with their charisma, creativity and charm but other sources have said they were relaxed, laid back people who were shy when being interviewed.
That could just be the contrast between their onstage and offstage personas but not all of us have that, even if we are all  just actors in a play, hoping each day goes the right way
Some of us are punk, even if we don’t explicitly say that we are, or have the stereotypical style associated with it,a lot of us just try to be ourselves, some of us can enjoy reality shows and horror movies at the same time, some of us can enjoy One Direction and Gorillaz, some of us can love fashion but also love memes, Theatre, and 1980s aesthetics
I’d say I’m the same but sometimes my personality is all over the place
I can go from being cheerful, relaxed and happy to being dazed and clumsy or cynical or entranced and hyper-fixated to Pessimistic and Cold to Quiet and Timid to Mellow and Loud   what personality traits you associate with me, however, is up to your own conclusion
call me any internet subculture stereotype and I’d be able to tell you about how I either, unfortunately, was the stereotype or I hung around people who were those stereotypes
if you said I was someone who watched Cbbc and citv you’d be right
if you said I was a classic rock enthusiast years ago and now you’d be right
if you said I used to be a cringy anime enthusiast  you’d be right
if you said I was one of those theatre kids who watched Disney sitcoms you’d be right
if you said I was one of those meme posters who referenced movies like Shrek and bee movie you’d be right
Another thing punks did was and sometimes still do was creating fanzines, magazines related to their favourite band or tv show or their own opinions on what’s going in the world, nowadays you could say social media has replaced that, but publications like the Daily Mirror, The Sun and TMZ still have a presence on there,I’d say fanzines should have a revival.
The BAFTA’s also happened recently and I wasn’t impressed, then again when are awards shows anything other than beauty pageants for films anyway?
Some films deserved their awards, but some films barely got a mention, Paddington 2 wasn’t included in there or in any of the other film awards this year and Stan and Ollie got nothing…
A darn shame because that film was so well made, it felt authentic, while Stan and Ollie also have a bit of a universal following, there are still some people who probably don’t know who they are!
Before Walliams and Lucas, Before the Two Ronnies, Before Richie and Eddie
There was…Laurel and Hardy
Two moustached blokes, who in the 20s and 50s would just try to delight audiences the best way they could, through slapstick and laughter, without them, most of the world’s double acts wouldn’t exist and even Spongebob wouldn’t exist
Yep, you heard me right, all those misadventures Spongebob and Patrick would have, they were loosely based on the adventures of Laurel and Hardy, except instead of it being about a tall British man and a fat American it was about an anthropomorphic sponge and a dumb but caring starfish.
Speaking of Spongebob, there was some sad news involving Spongebob not too long ago
The creator of Spongebob, Stephen Hillenburg…had passed away from ALS
I know, it’s awful, stupid motor neuron diseases and stupid Adam Levine too,for those who don’t know there was an episode of Spongebob called Band Geeks where they ended the episode with the cast playing a song called Sweet Victory over a Superbowl type of event, for the actual super bowl Spongebob fans around the world petitioned for that song to be played in tribute for Stephen, however we got Adam Levine singing a different song instead….what a letdown
If it wasn’t for SpongeBob I and some of the rest of the new generation, wouldn’t know half the old music or old films we know now.
To let down millions of fans like that makes me sick
Honestly, I was a bit sick a few weeks ago, I’ve been sick before and hospitalized twice but this particular moment of sickness was odd
It was like any other night, I was trying to get some sleep and lucid dream, but then it happened, the shivers, the shakes the trembling aches,
Out of nowhere, I felt like an ice-cube stuck in a microwave, It was too cold but it was too warm, I eventually got to sleep but when I got up the next morning I felt sick again, sorry for disclosing those details but it was like the exorcist…
Usually, when I’m sick watching documentaries, Kitchen Nightmares or 90s films weirdly cheers me up
Speaking of films, Rocketman the Elton John movie is out and it actually looks good
It’s being directed by the guy who was the replacement director for Bo Rhap and if it ends up being brilliant I won’t be surprised, the trailer gave off Velvet Goldmine vibes, the style of composed cinematography and I’m sounding like Film Twitter, Isle of Dogs was a good film…oh wait it wasn’t acknowledged much by the award shows either.
Another amazing film I recently watched was Rocky Horror…I know I’ve mentioned it before but that was when I only knew the sequel and some of the soundtrack,
It was amazing, it was brilliant, it was fantastic, it was out of this world,
ah! Rocky Horror was splendid
I definitely now understand why it’s still going strong to this day
It’s that hybrid of rock and roll, optimistic nihilism and soft aesthetics
That just works for me, another thing I’ve remembered was that Richard O’ Brien played the dad in Phineas and Ferb, well that explains that part of me liked that cartoon for the music and some of the characters but other characters did my head in like that Isabel character
“Hey, Phineas what ya dooing?”
“How about you let me finish my invention and you mind your own business”
Oof that’s too harsh…but considering aspects of the marvel Phineas and Ferb crossover were surprisingly a bit sexist at times outdated for the show that is usually quite progressive in its representation and characters…it’s probably accurate
Another person who hasn’t changed but is also often harsh, Piers Morgan, a little tweety bird told me he had a mysterious illness, good riddance I’d say, he’s the new Noel Edmonds, the presenter who used to be ok but now is unbearable…because he never shuts up
Thankfully though he’s “taking a break” from GMB that will rest our eardrums
Russell Brand has also been in the tabloids again, even though he’s more focused on his Buddhist spiritual recovery enlightening, looking back he wasn’t as bad as people described him, yeah at times he was a bit too over the top,but he was and is quite an ok bloke, but I’d say temporarily banning tickling is a bit of a stretch,
when you think about the number of people who disrespect our literal and figurative personal space on a daily basis, it kinda makes a bit of sense,
whether your sensory sensitive or not, I’m sure you hate it, when people are too touchy at times
although years ago I would’ve been a bit of an ignorant hypocrite about that
Hating it when crowds of kids would chase me like how the paparazzi chase their next gossip target, yet often annoyingly running up to people to talk to or entertain them.
I really need to learn to enjoy loneliness more because I get some of my best ideas when alone, but emotionally I feel a lot better when around others, a bit of an Ambivert really,
I’m sorry I can be a bit all over the place, I’m trying to make my energy more manageable
as that lucid dreaming thing has been misused at times,
I shouldn’t let myself be controlled…
by anyone or anything..no overthinking, no overworking,
treat the world as your stage, start your first act, motivated and ready, take your recharging interval breaks and then move on for your second act
fancy that me an ex-drama student making that metaphor when my current course  involves digitally drawing art, editing audio and sitting at a computer for most of the day
But then again just because someone shows good charisma that doesn’t always mean their a good person.
Ted Bundy, one of America's most notorious serial killers used charisma and charm in his court cases, and with the amount of fangirls giving him fanmail it was like the Beatles fandom but for people with Stockholm syndrome, and now with Netflix’s documentary and Troy from High School Musical in an upcoming film about him, that seems to be repeating itself…
*Alien voice* Ted Bundy the 1960s called they want your fangirls back!
One show I know you probably haven’t heard of is The Boondocks, a south park esque cartoon with an anime esque art style, referencing the social commentary of African American culture and media, celebrating some aspects while critiquing others, through the lenses of a socialist boy named Huey Freeman, his rapper wannabe brother Riley and their activist grandad Robert.
This show was quite revolutionary,it referenced the issue of each episode quite well, even though it only lasted 4 seasons, however, because the show is quite American, apart from the animation which is done in Korea,The Boondocks is not well known in the UK, which is a shame because it is a really good show that still holds up…however, it does fall under one mousetrap that most other adult cartoons fall into….
Because of the references to violence, innuendo and other dark subject matter sometimes referenced in a satirically humorous way, some audiences  would just watch the show because it’s offensive thinking that the show was made just to be offensive..instead of what the show was actually made for..which was to give social commentary on the issues relevant to African American communities in America.
I had watched this show years ago, it only just came back on my radar, because the creator Aaron McGruder, who based the show off his webcomic of the same name, had recently made a new issue.
There’s a difference between being satirical and being offensive
Your either making fun of something bad that a system or people are doing to make people aware of how stupid and sad the world can be at times, subjectively making fun of a stereotype, or your an arse who thinks they’re a comedian when they waste their time on social media, thinking they’re amazing and funny when they’re holding up the line at Mcdonald’s and the only people laughing at their jokes are gammon and people who found Bernard Manning funny
“Oh Wait”
I know sometimes I have unpopular opinions such as how my views of someone dip depending on their views of Kanye West
and sometimes I can be a bit snarky, and I hate and love stuff in equal amounts, but we need a bit of that don’t we, if we bottle it all up we explode like volcanos, but if we overshare too much, we crash like out of control cars
It’s all about moderation, salt is a tasty condiment but eat too much of it and your arteries will get clogged,
A few days back it was the day Mark Ashton passed away, for those who don’t know,he was an LGBT activist in the 80s,he volunteered with organizations such as the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament,he and the other activists helped to support the miners during the miner strike, creating the LGSM Alliance,Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners, there was a film made about them too, called Pride, but what some people don’t know is that….Mark Ashton was Northern Irish…he was one of us..he was the Marsha P Johnson of our time..if we were a bit like Mark Ashton this country would be a slightly more accepting place, why don’t we give love!
Let’s move on, plant more flowers in our garden..I know I sound like a hippie but it’s true, our Celtic Summerland is being used as a cesspool for Nuclear Waste
Oi! use your own bins, not the place we’re living in, pick up your rubbish and clean up your own mess…
The 80s were telling us something with all those protect and survive adverts, yes some of us were prepared as the older generation made us alert, others couldn’t recognize that a lot of innocent people were getting hurt.
When we say we want a 1980s comeback we want the music, clothes, games and  films,
but Nope
while we have some of that the 1980s revival we get is the one that involves Nuclear Danger and the ghost of Margaret Thatcher
All these TV and Film revivals, some are cool others are just unnecessary  Do we really need a Snow White sequel? No, we don’t but we did get one even if it was unofficial
Back in 2007 a French animation company made a sequel to Snow White which was also a bit like Shrek in how it satirised the fairy tale tropes, how Prince Charming feels like he is objectified while he ends up doing the same thing to the female characters, quite a tosser but that’s the point of the parody to point out the flaws with fairy tale logic, and to put the likes of Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella in more realistic scenarios.
…it’s strange, weird but brilliant too
The English dub had quite a few familiar faces doing the character voices
Stephen Fry as the narrator, Morwenna Banks, Simon Greenall and another British actor
Rik someone...
Ah! I remember his name now, he was in many successful sitcoms in the 80s and 90s,he was a legend, he knew how to keep people laughing, whether they were children, adults, teenagers,
in television, theatre, film or music
quite an eclectic range of talent
Although
I’m a new fan, I might adore his work, but I had just learnt his name 2 years ago, whereas, with other fans, they have created their own work, such as Charlie Brooker and Simon Pegg… some were able to meet him…lucky...
Some encounters were quite interesting, I had heard someone’s nan got to meet him in the 90s but she got his name wrong so she ended up saying
“‘oh hello can I have your autograph please Mr mayo?’
Well that happened, she probably still got that autograph,...
And somewhere up there, Rik Mayall is thinking of us, he, Stephen Hillenburg and David Bowie are probably chatting away
Let’s make the lord of misrule proud

Tweety will be the first Looney Tunes character to appear as a PFP avatar on the blockchain, with more to come. Apes that are bored, Cryptopunks, and… Tweety birds? The characters from Looney Tunes are the latest firm IP to undergo the NFT treatment, as Warner Bros. continues its NFT (non-fungible token) testing. The product will be named "Looney Tunes: What's Up Block?" and will go on sale later this summer, with the corporation once again collaborating with the NFT platform Nifty's. The first Looney Tunes character to be featured is Tweety bird, who will be 80 this year (others, including Bugs Bunny and Marvin the Martian, will follow). This time, the firms are focusing on the IP's storytelling part in the hopes of attracting purchasers. NFT owners will also get access to exclusive events, goods discounts, and other "real world" benefits as part of the initiative. "We believe that blockchain, NFTs, and web3 in general will be a huge step forward in entertainment," says Josh Hackbarth, Warner Bros.' head of NFT commercial development. "It doesn't have to be deep, profound storytelling; it's all about humor and gimmicks and instantly identifiable characters, so it was a lot of fun to get into." "Looney Tunes isn't hesitant to poke fun at itself or pop culture in general," he says. "How we're playing with blockchain technology will be a little tongue in cheek, but what's more exciting is that we can utilize it to bring people into a new place to play." Following Space Jam: A New Legacy and The Matrix last year, Looney Tunes is the third Warner Bros. IP to be reinvented as NFTs. The Looney Tunes NFTs, like the Matrix project, will be digital avatars that the owner may utilize on social media networks. These NFT initiatives, known as PFPs (short for "picture for proof"), have grown in popularity, with NFT programs like the Bored Ape Yacht Club and Cryptopunks breaking into mainstream culture and celebrities updating their social media avatars to reflect their latest digital buys. Unlike the Matrix NFT project, which sold avatars of unique characters designed exclusively for the NFT software, the Looney Tunes NFT project will sell avatars of known characters, with Nifty CEO Jeff Marsilio claiming that it is the first significant NFT avatar project to use such characters. The Looney Tunes initiative will leverage blockchain technology from the Palm NFT Network, just as the Matrix and Space Jam NFTs. "There are a lot of NFT initiatives, but there is only one Looney Tunes," Marsilio says, "so if we execute it well and respect the IP and respect the current community, I think there is a tremendous fandom to it." "Owning one of these avatars is sort of your membership in this community," he adds. And it is this group that will have access to the events (such as virtual meet-and-greets), products, special material, and other "drops" that will keep the initiative afloat. Marsilio continues, "When you mint an NFT, you mint a community." "This concept of community is the key to value in the NFT space… "Imagine a community where you may not only socialize, but also obtain fresh possibilities to experience the IP you love while being rewarded for your engagement." "It's more about, as a fan, what are you investing into?" "How is it any different from what I might get on YouTube or elsewhere?" Hackbarth asks. "We're creating a tale that will only be told through this software, so there's an overall story component that binds everything together for each consecutive drop and activity we do with the program." It's all about retaining people's interest along the route." In Hollywood, NFTs have become a hot commodity, with big studios, media businesses, and filmmakers all looking at the technology. A collection of Tom Brady NFTs from ESPN and Brady's Autograph platform, as well as Spike Lee's She's Gotta Have It NFTs, are among the prominent recent initiatives. https://nftdawn.io/looney-tunes-entering-the-nft-space/?feed_id=151&_unique_id=6299d365ac77a

October Wrap Up
Hey everyone! Sorry for the silence... been busier than even I can keep up with, and also found out that the last Music Monday I had a few weeks back- well it didn’t post so I was quieter than I intended to be...
But it is NaNoWriMo time now, so there should be time to settle in and post like mad to update you all, and write my 50k! After all, I have no plans to be anywhere this November. Fingers crossed nothing else goes crazy on me.
Without further chatter, game answers after the jump.
Tumblr media
#CharactersHell
1- Rooms for rent above an active and lively bar, for as long as you like* (*Mgmt not responsible for any damage from the cat or other beings if you leave your door open/unlocked.)
2- Not in the expected way. Most of the monsters are the human Antags. The antags are motivated by jealousy and obsession. Other characters have their own personal demons, or else they aren’t really human...
3- Not real monsters, not really. The Antags are over the top in their issues, but they are rarer. Everybody has some kind of issue though.
4- Frost? That grumpy man is actually a bit of a softy inside… If not, Sly mixes up some ugly looking boozy milkshakes that are pretty tasty!
5- That would be the Antag. Tim is a sort of threat in waiting, one that slips around a bit like the snake he is. The incidents he is involved in are hard to figure out until after it happens...
6- My world is no different than our world. There is divinity in the form of God etc, but it really plays no part in my story.
7- Same world, same dire predictions. Only difference is, it’s a brothel, so one can assume they may already be in hell…
8- Most interesting job? That’s a toss up… It’s an interesting place to work in general, but I’m torn between Woods being in a band, or Tweety, the one in somewhat charge of all the other looney tunes….
9- Best Co-worker award goes to Malta. There is no one else likely to push, prod, and sometimes accidentally beat ya up to have a good time, while respecting limits. Unlike the constant party pusher Bebe, Malta can tell when you need the push, and when you just need a cuppa tea.
10- Most of the time, the networking person is Tweety, as everyone knows her and gets connected by her. But for this, I have to give it to the guys. Nira has a lot of connections from before bar life, music man Martin is always networking and improving his career, and Frost? Well the giant makes friends thru fights. Might not be a lot, but they are the best connections…
11- This is a little bit of everyone really. Malta, Frost, and others don’t do it intentionally, it’s more of a language barrier. Sly is the master of deflection to the point you still don’t know very much. That may be why Tweety sees him as an equal, as everyone assumes they know her, but they never know a thing. She doesn’t lie, just turns things around on ya.
12- Woods is about/has turned professional famous musician, depending on which book you read… Tweet is just really good at talking to people and getting everywhere from it.
13- Antags- Sofia has some fans yes. She’s a strange boss with a back story & has some loyal workers until she does things to mess that up (her MO). Tim on the other hand? Well, he’s liked for what his skills & the more unstable/broken sorts love him to obsession.
14- The Antags are good for backstabbing! Tim and Sophia work together for the mostly common goal, but in places there’s differences. For instance, a rigged auction is supposed to end in Tim’s favor. Doesn’t mean S can’t make more money off of him if he wants it that badly…
15- Tim gives me the creeps. There’s this thing he does that makes me feel violated too, so I know it will be good in the end… I just need recovery time after him.
16- Tweet isn’t monstrous… but it is a pain sometimes, writing for an always happy sort, even if you want to have her fight back against things.
17- Tim is as direct as a blunt log to the face can be. He’s more bull in the china shop. Sophia is the mastermind, making her puppets dance in that web way. You can 100% assume she’s behind something, but you’re hard pressed to prove it…
18- With Tim, smarts is the easy part. It’s Sophia you match wits with, if you have to at all…
19- Woods isn't really vicious… maybe some biting comments while holding a grudge. Tweet is always the “kill 'em with kindness” type
20- I think the side chars are very active in their own ways to push this story forward. Some are even pushy as hell!
21- Ok, so Frost isn't exactly wrathful towards the MC so much as ornery and wrathful at everyone… but he does blame Tweety for flaring his ulcer with her ideas.
22- Not all that hard for me, as I don’t force my characters into doing things they wouldn’t do anyway. I try to learn who they are first and go from there.
23- I don’t really use red herrings, not intentionally. There may be one or two accidentally...
24- So zen! I throw on some earphones blaring my playlist and forget that people exist. The absolute worst is when you’re writing so well, and then someone scares you by interrupting you!
25- I’m not really into the sweets. Once in a while, but mostly my writing runs off potato chips or pretzels. Crunchy and salty balances the romance writing well!
26- #FF #followfriday with interesting stories by: @nomdejillian @TGNeal @SkeptiCybrarian @marshawritesit
27- Halloween was fun when I was a kid. Now I enjoy making Halloween-y cookies and giving them out to people I like, since we never have trick or treaters where I live. One year per the Halloween cookie costume rules, I dressed in all grey with a bell on… Jingle bell rock ya’ll!
28- Not a prankster, so not very wrathful at all. Halloween isn’t a big deal near me.
29- Oh I think I did that already! False arrest of the sweet one anyone?
30- So this is a boost for our Co-Host @manual_arbanassi! His amazing, well rounded character work in #Tiogair is great. Plus he totally shares that character building with all of us with both this game and #CharactersTell!
31- After work where I have to avoid a kids book sale while having a bills closing day? Relax and maybe watch a Halloween-y movie. Really, I am more excited about #NaNoWriMo starting at midnight.
Tumblr media
#SciFiNaNoPrep
1- Hi, Nicole here. I was fairly certain for #NaNo I would continue my #RedLetters #series, but this Mars idea won’t let go. It has an outline, so maybe this prep will help me change course?
2- For this Mars idea? 50K or whatever it takes to finish this idea. Definitely looking to start it.
3- It’s very similar in that it’s our Earth, and an exploration of the Mars planet we think we know.
4- The not so very distant future. My research says I need at least 4 years, so mid to late 2020’s
5- Planet Mars for about 90% of it. There’s a little Earth training time, and possibly other planet flash backs.
6- Both generally advanced Earth tech, and some stuff for Mars that feels like #spoilers (plus I need to sort that out –Note to self on more #prep!)
7- Haven’t quite named them… but I do know there’s some diversity and a female MC/narrator
8- That’s definitely a #spoiler! I can say that it’s a “greet the way you’re greeted” thing…
9- Oh, I’m showing my age here for sure… but like Sailor Mercury from Sailor Moon or the original Power Rangers Billy the blue ranger come to mind… for their smarts and calmness.
10- There are both Earth “children” and adults, plus some Martian life.
11- Earth customs, sure, all the standard ones. Martian customs fall into “show you, you decide what happens” things. Because the message/meanings are important sometimes.
12- #FF #followfriday with #scifi writers: @RagingCyclone @authorASMcGowan @mae_mckinnon and a bunch of people at #wipworldbuilders
13- I would say somewhere in between, as it largely depends on which side you see it from. Just because it’s Utopia to one may be dystopia to another. Similar to the grass being greener on the other side theory.
14- Earth politics are the same. Mars doesn’t have politics in the same way. They have more rule, order and understanding.
15- Mars is more science and study, so they are more guardians less lawyers in that sense. They have systems for everything, but mostly they do not have crime within their own ranks. Outsiders are a different story.
16- Oh lots! I am taking some of the known things about planets and life and tying it together to give credible conspiracy theory if you will. Might even include Nikola Telsa…
17- As Mars is a drier planet- with more wind storm, less water, the idea of hydro anything doesn’t work. Plus they have a better greenhouse process that makes planting in the ground useless.
18- There is really no focus on currency in this idea, as shooting for different themes, money being the root of trouble not one of them.
19- ATV type things above ground, underground tunnels with everything from walking to hovering transports.
20- I enjoy a reasonable time travel story. Not the type that appear there just to be there, or where the tech that travels person is hokey. More like Timeless, Krypton, or Doctor Who on good days.
21- On Mars there is advanced tech where medicine as we know it is obsolete. A little more nanites and lasers a lot less oral pills and rectal anythings.
22- Mars is a dry windy planet without water, in comparison to Earth’s visible habitats.
23- Mars grows things without name at the moment, but it is edible, like all things people make do with.
24- Standard Martian wear is something of a lab coat but resistant to its environmental elements.
25- Anything can be a weapon in untrained hands…
26- #FF upcoming writers
27- Earthlings go to school and are trained for space exploration. Martians learn by doing.
Tumblr media
#RomanceNaNoPrep
1- Hi, Nicole here. Library worker by day/night/weekend, writer every other chance. Currently two and a half books into my #RedLetters series. So far all I’ve ever written falls into womens fiction category.
2- For Red Letters? 50K is just going to start it. They end up being easily 80-100K, even if its more like 200K words that have to be split into two different books...
3- Romance is my sub genre, as it reads more like womans fiction first. But the other books in the series cover more of the slice of life/journey stuff. This one would have a heavier romantic tone.
4- I love a good believable romance. Whether it starts off as a one night stand or getting to know each other first, the characters have to be real and well rounded. Funny is a plus but not cartoony or asks me to assume too much.
5- Depends on the mood. If I need a little escape, a sweet romance will do the trick. But if I need to be reminded of what it’s like to be human outside of working too much or need a serious escape, steamy tends to have a better grip on me.
6- #RedLetters started as an RP… don’t know where the 💜 of romance came from, but I’ve been writing about it as long as I can remember. Helps that hubs & I have been together 10+ yrs & we’re good friends first. Learned lots about relationships from that alone.
7- The main characters in #RedLetters has always been Naomi, better known as Tweety and the musician Woods. There is a whole host of other characters that are important, and Greg may become an MC… if he stays Greg of course.
8- Well, it’s not really a special meaning, so much as an inside joke. Tweety got her nickname from an outfit she wore, and a drunk-ish Cockney woman. The rest as they say is history…
9- Honestly? Kind of a fan of Emma Stone. Looks sweet and innocent, but can be sassy and a bit sexy too. All around package, inside and out I think.
10- I might have the Evil Other Woman cliche… At least on the surface. Hoping the history fleshes this out to be a full story not just a mad woman scorned thing...
11- Big fan of sassy heroines (aka no weak and fainty unrealistic women) and maybe a touch of the second chance at love thing…
12- #FF #followfriday  @MaeBaumWriter @klimov_author  have been #prepping with me since day one... plus I like the stuff @K_A_Grayson  does in her rockstar #romance...
13- When they first met, Tweety was about 21/22. Woods was 24/25. When they meet again about 5 years later, Woods is 30, Tweety will have a birthday in that book.
14- The characters are struggling 20's. Woods is higher in class while trying to do it himself. Tweety's poorer & finding herself. Inside the bar/club, social status doesn’t matter, & in some cases, makes you less important the more important you assume you are.
15- Woods sister approves, eventually. Tweety doesn’t talk to her parents, instead relying on Frost the manager to be her father figure. After a good bit of threatening during a chat with Woods, Frost approved too.
16- In this book? Friendly enemies. Tweety is not happy to see him, but she is never a rude sort, more the kill with kindness type. Woods is more eager to charm her into regretting her choices and occasionally bringing up the past, even if facts are distorted...
17- What brings Tweet and Woods together? A certain book… you know when you get that déjà vu feeling? Except you have proof from your side of the tale too. Trouble is that the truth has its own version…
18- What’s keeping them apart? Lots of hurt pride, broken hearts, completely different lifestyles… But even with all that past, the thing that made them unique is still there.
19- Remember yesterday, when I said different lifestyles? Yeah. West coast musician with a wildly successful touring band vs an East coast wildly famous bar/nightclub owner. One is always on the go, the other is happily rooted to one spot. Plus the same problems as last time- other people.
20- Woods can be a bit too thick headed or obtuse for Tweet’s liking. Woods isn’t exactly annoyed by her running off tendency, but it isn’t making his days any better either.
21- Well, this pair have been together before, and neither were all that innocent then. But since then… One has gone full on flavor of the month style, while the other is much more cautious about their reputation.
22- Woods & Tweet = the infamous Ghostbusters “don’t cross the streams” thing. It’s a peppy flirt who makes you question if she’s as naïve as she sounds vs a rogue with all the manners of that bad boy you need to leave with. Their game is holding out the longest & upping the stakes…
23- Their first kiss? Very steamy yet semi polite in front of the crowd… You see, it was Halloween, and there were sexy costumes… someone didn't speak, just acted, and the rest is... in the book!
24- In this series, I love that Tweet and Woods flirt at the level of chess moves sometimes. Tweety makes a man play on her level or the game is over. If you use tired lines or give the answer she expects when giving you enough rope to hang yourself… well she’s already over it.
29- Favorite quality about-
Tweety- She’s amazing at making people feel welcome and free to be themselves.
Woods- He’s got an awesome amount of patience and tolerance. The not being jealous adds to his charms.
30- Least favorite quality about-
Tweety- Always with the bright, happy side even if it hurts…
Woods- He picks up a ghost nickname for a reason you know.
31- This has been fun, and I’m totally ready for #NaNoWriMo! (Sits and waits for the clock to strike 12…)
Tumblr media
#CharactersTell
1/10- “Oh, it’s my favorite month! Halloween weekend parties are our best buiness, and the most fun! Of course I have to come chat about #RedLetters with you all. You all know me as miss Tweety...”
2/10- Tweety- “Why i’m your hostess with the most-ess! I run the front of house at Soulful, in addition to being a co-owner.”
3/10- Tweety- “It’s only lonely in the sense of responsibility. Otherwise, I have a ton of staff and regulars around at any given time.”
4/10-Tweety- “I guess? I’m great with a lot of things, but Nira is best with the finances, so I leave that to him. Since I started being a waitress, I had him investing & asked for what I needed to buy clothes with. Best way to pay him back for the couch surfing.”
5/10- Tweety- “My time off is usually when I sleep. Now there is some help so I can leave before I start falling asleep, but other than writing, I wouldn’t know what to do with time off.”
6/10- Tweety- “Adventure happens all around the club. You never know what Bebe will do when bored, at least my job and the respect given to me, keeps the place from falling down around it all.”
7/10- Tweety- “Well, I would hope that my kindness keeps me in high esteem… Why else would we be so packed all the time? I know there are those against me, because I built a following from scratch.”
Tumblr media
#CharactersTell
8/10- “I'm Greg, Gus’ grandson and recent college grad with a degree in business.”
9/10- Greg- “I had a few odds jobs, some for the experience more than the money, but yeah I work a lot.”
10/10- Greg- “I'm not nefarious. Just a regular guy with an inheritance that apparently affects others…”
11/10- Greg- “That's what I'm trying to decide! A piece of a prosperous club or a life on my own…”
12/10- Greg- “Trying not to do that with this choice. You know, this isn't really helping me decide, not when you're highlighting the downsides…”
13/10- Greg- “Progressive. Smart, firm when I have to be. Not overly nice, you will know I'm the boss.”
14/10- Greg- “If I decided to take the ownership, it's really like a slow raise. Or I sell it and make a windfall quick…”
Tumblr media
#CharactersTell
15/10- Rolls in on those shoes with wheels inside “Duranta at your service, but everyone calls me Runta! Soul’s not so resident clothing designer and somewhat personal shopping friend to Tweet, if you must know.
16/10- Runta- laughs “Of course not! It takes money and patronage to become a designer who makes money. They wanted me to have a different sort of full time boring work.”
17/10- Runta- “I’ve made a few fashion week shows, and have some amazingly supportive fans who basically are fashion influencers in their own rights...” #spoilers
18/10- Runta- “Sure, I mean clothes and fashion is how you see a person, so of course people have stereotypes based on looks, but I don’t play that game.”
19/10- Runta- “Absolutely! Networking is a big part of what I do! Connections get me everywhere.”
20/10- Runta- “Total workaholic! A friend of mine says that if you love what you do, it’s not working, but living. And I am living for this life!”
21/10- Runta- “I learned a few things from the place I got my start. Hire people good at what they do, and that you can stand being around constantly. So yeah, the people who work for me become a family, since we’re together that much.”

Personally, I’m admiring the art appearance that the aggregation has called for the characters. It strikes me as a accomplished antithesis amid the characters’ aboriginal designs alloyed with a bit of new academy acidity for new viewers. I’ve no abstraction if these new shorts will be able to charm the abracadabra of yesterday, but dammit, I’m added than accommodating to see them try.

June Foray she was the female version of Mel Blanc a woman of 1000 voices from Tweety Bird to Rocky squirrel. For over 80 years her voice gave life to those cartoon characters. Her passing brings to the end of the golden age of cartoons. For me it a bit more personal. I got to meet June Foray in the 80's when she and Bill Scott co-writer and voice of Bullwinkle and Mr. Peabody were part of a tribute to Jay Ward. She was pure joy to meet. I can still remember when I told her that when I was young I thought that Rocky was a boy. Then in her Rocky voice she said "How could you think that Rocky was a boy" I said meekly "I was only eight at the time I am sorry". She was a joy I will truly miss her.
