#coachlife sometimes means fitting in your own runs when you can. And that was me today. We had a morning meet indoors at #thomasjeffersoncommunitycenter so I was busy coaching all morning and helping to run the #highjump. Then after I walked back to my car afterwards I decided there was no time like the present to get my miles in. I logged 5 miles in chilly snow flurry conditions then finished up with drills and striders. I’m planning to take my first dip back into real track racing of my own tomorrow at an all comers meet. I have zero expectations after a 3-year absence from the track, it will just be to get reacclimated and get some work in. Hopefully I can run the #milerun, #800meters, and #3000meters. okayyy, so its sports day on monday (dont even cuz what the hell) and this guy has to assign people to do the track or field events. and he asked if id run 800meters! HELLO? i said "yeah yeah, except ive actually broken all my bones and i cant move an inch" ME RUNNING 800? IN UR DREAMS!!!!!! 😝 im not coming in that day otherwise theyll force me to do smth but my mum said what do i say when they ring an say why r u not in. i said tell them ive got a life threatening illness and unfortunate as it is, i cant come in monday but ill be perfectley ok for tuesday!!! Got a vet appointment on the 16th. Here's to hoping just blood work will be enough to see what might be up with my little old man.

Also I dunno if I should laugh or cry bc taking a taxi to the other side of the city for the local "common animal healthcare" vet is cheaper than going to the small clinic like 800meters from my home. The taxi alone costs like 105€ there and back but is still - significantly- cheaper compared overall.

High School-

Joining my high-school team helped me find the events and the distance that I wanted to perform. 800meters, 1600meters, 4x4 relay and 4x8 relay where te events that I would run every meet. My favorite one was the 800meters.

With this team and this coach I became faster and stronger hitting PRs every meet. I felt like I was living the dream I always wanted since 7 years old. I got to train every day and I also found friends for life. I just wished I had join this team sooner and not in my senior year.

I always wanted to run for college but at the end I did not get the chance to get there. I am just very grateful that I got the chance to run for Cypress Bay High School.

When I first started interacting with #elite and #worldclassathletes and #celebrities I didn't chronicle my own personal experiences and achievements dating back to #highschoolsports. My #hs coach #hermanbaker help me become #allcity, #allpublic, public schools at the time could not go to states. I became a #highschoolallamerican, #juniorolympian, #juniornationalchampion with #morrisestatetrackteam in #daytonohio before heading to #pennstateuniversity from #northphiladelphia and #olneyhighschool. I ran track #400meters 47.9 #800meters low 1.50's, #1500meters @ high 3.50's, @ 4.12 in the mile, in the 9.20's for #2miles. High 14's for 2.9 miles, won district titles, #GeorgeSteinbronn #LincolnHS and I broke the #publicleague cross country record at the #belmontplateau and more. Gotta get with my coach to recall my accolades. I lost my portfolio, precious pictures and numerous awards and trophies. A #friend told me that I should start to carry a #camera even though you are an #eliteathlete. Some people know you, but everyone doesn't, but that's okay. The #world only believes what it sees .Unfortunately, I lost alot of my #hardware I had accumulated with news clippings and all I had accumulated trophies trips around the world with #TeamUSA, with the eagles,etc. In retrospect thats great, that's alot for your children to emulate they need to create their own life, plans, formulate the life that they are meant to live I never was trying to shine or upstage the athletes, celebrities I met, worked with or chilled with. Wish I had those pictures now. The world believes what it sees. Social media as we know it today did not exist. What I didn't know is one day I would be an author, radioshow host, then I could share my stories, triumphs, disappointments things I'm gonna get into in my new book. Never Judge. Maybe, I know now I was not ready for some things I was blessed with early on in my life. I wasn't strong enough, prepared enough to fulfill my destiny. You never know what GOD is preparing you and others for. Learn as much as you can about the things that bring you joy and that you are passionate about. Busy day at the #ovaloffice today. Actually only one mile of this session on the track but I was at the #woodsonhs stadium and side fields the whole time. I started with a 30 minute #easyrun on grass. After finishing that up I switched from @altrarunning Lone Peaks to @endasportswear Itens and it was time to up the tempo. I did some drills and then the plyo set shown in the second picture before moving over the #longjump runway to work on my takeoffs. Last time I did this I just worked on hitting the board with my plant foot (left), and today I added on throwing in a little bound at the takeoff point. I did about 6 of those and that felt like enough for today, so I wrapped up with a mile cooldown on the track some mobility work from the @recoverathletics app. All told that was more than 90 minutes of training. I haven’t decided whether to give the long jump a go next week at the all-comers meet I plan to run. On one hand I don’t feel quite ready to put it all together and jump yet. On the other hand, it will be diversion from the anxious boredom of waiting around for the #mile or #800meters while they run 60 heats of kids dashes and 200s.
